I felt like Tifa's dialog choices are the easiest to decipher (and the most superficial). Aerith's are much deeper and harder to decipher until you actually see what Cloud says.
Barret's are all over the place.
That ingredients side quest in gongaga should’ve been Tifa’s and not aerith’s after all that talk about food and cooking.
Why is this one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make in 38 years? 😅
You titled this video “Don’t Make This Mistake”, but what if I wanted to go on a date with Red?
Then you're in luck. I didn't go out of my way to raise Red's relationship. I just did side quests like normal and talked to him in select chapters. He reached max relationship faster than everyone else, even though I was aiming for Aerith the whole time. The only thing I missed was the matching bathing suits in Costa de Sol. Apparently, that alone was enough to stunt the relationship growth. After that, I read up a bit on it and saw that even though I got the date with Aerith in ch. 8, you could still get a different date in ch. 12. Now, I'm going out of my way to avoid Red's side quests and do all of Aerith's side quests. I'm hoping I'll still get the Aerith date if I do that. I'll be pretty annoyed if that one thing prevents me from getting Aerith's date.

I got Barret in my playthrough lol. After completing The game, it does give you the option to pick who you wanna go on a date with if you choose the chapter.
That is good to know, so I wont have to replay everything if I wanna see the scene with someone else?

@@stuffandthings617Yep. If you’ve developed good affinity with other party members that are close to the one you got from your initial playthrough, they’ll allow you to go back and have dates with them. 🙂

Tifa and cloud just has that energy going. Don't even need words to read who's destined for who.
That and when Tsang first shows up the way Aerith was looking at him told me cloud ain’t her number 1 so my choice was easy

I had no idea this was a thing. I did almost every side quest at this point. At the beach, Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith had the more revealing swimwear but i ended up helping Tifa during the fight. First time at the Gold Saucer, I ended up going on a date with Tifa. Again no idea what i was doing. I got lucky lol
even with that do you know there is two version of date with each of them? the standart date and the intimate one.

@@brutalhonesty07 one is the standart date when they are your highest bond and the intimate one triggered when you reached the light blue or something level of relationship with them.
I initially was team tifa since the original ps1 era. Renamed some heroines in the later titles to tifa. None of them compared. Midway thru the original however i shifted to Aerith. Fast forward to Rebirth when Aerith said they were on a date, as soon as Tifa said, "what?", nostalgia hit and was reconsidering my romance option for later in the game. Thanks for the tips

Got to Chapter 12, and already knew about the whole "can romance Tifa and Aerith" part through Minor Spoilers... Then, after leaving the game for a day, I ended up running into ANOTHER Spoiler, where I found out that this portion could have you going with ANYONE, depending on who you had the highest affinity with... And apparently I'm like you, where I'm a completionist when it comes to Side Quests.
As a result, I'd done literally everything up to this point, right as a ton of quests opened up all around the world. Since I already knew I wanted to romance Tifa, I searched for a video like this to make sure I'd done what I needed to correctly, and found yours. And because of watching this, I realized that I REALLY needed to make sure I didn't do any other Quests until after the Saucer, AND that I hadn't done all Tifa's Synergy Abilities... I'm almost entirely certain that the reason I just managed to get Tifa, was by doing a Boss Battle in Chadley's VR, and using the two abilities for Tifa I'd failed to do before now. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would've been like you and ended up with Red... XD

My disappointment when Barrett showed up at my door was immeasurable. Don't be too good to your bud if you don't want a bro date
believe me friend, I'm in this part of the game for the first time, I had maximum affinity with all of them hoping to choose who to go on a date with or have something with Aeris, in the end Barret knocked on the door because I did all his missions, my feeling of frustration in a game it has never been so visible... I'm still going back to Save and trying to put Yuffie in front of Barret because maybe in my gameplay only she surpasses him. Unfortunately, I will only have to see Tifa and Aeris's scene after finishing the game, which I find very anti-climactic, considering the ending.
I had a really awkward date with Red.😅
But you can simply choose in the options menu who you want to be your date after you completed the game.

This is so hard for me. I can’t decide which girl I want more. They’re both incredible in the their own right and I want Cloud to be in a romantic relationship with both of them.
Yeah I was wondering that myself! I have about 3-4 side quests that have a check mark on it, but real question does effect the trophy or no?
You can build relationships with everyone and just go to the extra settings and change to the character to you want for the scene once it’s switched to blue and you’ve scored high enough (plus select standard or intimate scene) once you have finished. I was praying for Tifa on my first run and only realised at the end I had only left 3% difference between the two *phew*!
Not everyone is doing that. Most people put the game down after their first run

For some reason the Gongaga conversations glitched on me with Tifa, Aerith and Yuffie, and I didn't get any affinity with them. Only realized it post-game through the play log and by revisiting the conversations in chapter select. The second time around it did register the Gongaga answers. That screwed me over the first time and I ended with Nanaki as my date when I was aiming for Tifa. It's hilarious in retrospect, but I was pissed when it happened since I felt I did everything right to get Tifa.
Just an FYI when you get the double boost for the girls in the parade, you get a double boost for Tifa at 90k with just commendation... you get the 100k and Aerith a double boost as well for winning the crowd. Shell let you know you didn't do it too, but I dont know if you get the commendation no matter what and need 90 or 95k for Tifa, cuz it took me 3 tries to get over 100k and the 1st 2 times were over 95k and I got a double boost for Tifa and a small one for Aerith
Just finished the game and I’m shocked how many of the social questions I got right for Tifa & Aerith 😂 using this to go back & get Tifa’s date scene, I got queen Aerith’s first 😌

Already after Costa del sol, as a (not perfect) completionist, I had Tita slightly higher then Aerith (not on purpose). It feels like both would be maxed out at least before the date etc. But which one will have most is kinda like a lottery for me, since I don't try to disadvantage one of them. Also, I cannot decide which one so it might be for the best then.
When I opened the door during my first trip to Gold Saucer there was no character, but Red XIII was going into the lift at the end of the walkway 🤷🏻♂️😂

Bad part for me, I'm playing the game with german laguange, and many times the answers aren't that distinctively different from each other or close enough to the english version that an answer guide really helps me xD I just left Costa del Sol and Tifa is the only with a blue emoticon (the one coming after the green) all others (except Yuffie) are green xD

I also made the same mistake and ended up getting Barret because I did a couple of his quests right before the date, only I didnt have a back up save. I was very disappointed.
I topped the relationship with all girls, for the last event in the Gold Saucer I wanted to get Tifa and I got Yuffie because she was the last I filled the meter :) But dating Yuffie was really cute and I didn't wanted to reload an old save. In the post game option you can select the character you want so you can watch all the possibilities.
How long before you change the same light blue? I'm going into chapter 10 and everyone's stuck on dark blue

As far as the girls, I really like Aerith's portrayal in the remake. Tifa was really my first game waifu back when I played the original, but Aerith has more of my kind of personality. I'm looking forward to the game coming out for PC.
@@yannisv.4914 You could get Tifa, Aerith, or Barret in the original. You have to spend more time with Tifa and not with Aerith.
I think im screwed im almost to the date scene and everyone but Yuffie has the same affection level. And I've done everything and used all the synergies.

I also am a completionist when it comes to side quets, at chapter 12 3 characters were at max effection level, and I got the guy with the gun arm, no matter how much I reloaded the save before turning into your room it would always be that guy, I expected it would choose one randomly if you had more then one character at max effection, that is not the case
That’s weird, normally if you have multiple at max then it would be Cait with, Cid and Vincent who would be on the date
I was mainly concerned if the relationship impacted the story negatively like if someone might die if I didn't raise it enough. I like the whole cast, so I'm not worried about the date scene.
Was there also a trophy included with doing Flowere On The Hill correctly?
Wait, I've been doing every single side quest up until now, so i have very similar affinity with everyone, you saying that I "won't be able to choose" when the time comes? Because I've been doing everything right so far (completely by accident might I add, because I didn't look at no guide) to romance Tifa, but her affinity level is at blue, alongside Red, Barret and Aerith. I'm at the ending of chapter 10 currently, scared of all hell that I might not get Tifa, but i thought you could at least choose when the time came. Oh boy, guess I'll leave some side quests for after chapter 12 than...

Everybody was at max by time I got to this point and I got Barrett 😂 after clear yoi can chapter select and choose who is gonna be the one to show up
I had Aerith the fitst time. Now I just finishet Gongaga reactor and every quest so far, and for now Red has a good chance for the second time, as well as Aerith and Tifa.

I played it in such away where I got Aerith initially. I saved it in a new slot, went back, completed the Chocobo Races, then got Tifa. I was like boom! Double dates!
i did everything right with tifa besides 2 chapters but still managed to date her so fate, seemed like i did all the mechanics right so im happy bout the way i went with it, im jus curious on how everyone else date went, i pretty much tried to do everything by the time chapter 12 was about to end so iunno
edit : i always felt zack and aerith were way more compatible and same goes for cloud and tifa IMO.

Yes, that's what happened to me yesterday. Red came to the door and now I've finished the side quest. I've been playing for 90 hours. Do I have to start over? This is exhausting.

@@chongky6798 once you finish the game you can go back in chapter select and choose who you want to go on a date with depending if they have high enough friendship
U can pick who u want in new game plus or when u beat the game just load up that chapter n it allows u to pick who u want all the affinities need to be high enough if there all high u have all of them for choices if someone is too low it won't be n option but don't need to worry about this
Just finish the game. Go to Extra Setting during Chapter Select.

What am I doing wrong? I unlocked Cloud and Tifa's Synergy moves, all 3, but when I am in combat I only see 2 synergy options!
Also I've been trying to do Tifa's gym workout sidequest to boost my bond with her but that mini game is astrociously difficult!
I chose all the right dialogue options too and now by Chapter 12 all I have are Aerith, Barret and Red😫😭

Weird. Technically Red was at my door but he was already in the Elevator and Cloud was confused because there was a knock but no one spoke to him.
Aerith showed up outside my door, and she was always running next to me outside of battle, and she was always closest to me during cutscenes. Appropriately so, since I focus more on her than anyone else. The way the game tracks your relationship status with every party member is flawlessly executed.
Just a suggestion but maybe make your clips using just the base weapons haven't gotten that one yet
What if I do everything 100% before the door and there's no more side-quests to do? What happens then?
I'm doing that too lol. What decides it will be who you choose to help on the beach... its probably similar to Remake, cuz I have both their affinity at max and who you pick in the sewer is who you see in Aeriths garden

They seem to be deliberately holding Tifa back while allowing Cloud and Aerith to gain SP and affinity very easily.

I feel Cloud and Aerith’s date makes the rest of the story impact so much harder at the end.
I ship Cloud and Tifa, but feel the Aerith date felt more canon. Especially with Tifa and Cloud not suppose to conform their feelings until later in the series.
Same with Tifa, the date definitely enhances the storyline of the loveinterest you choose in general, like you said it makes the ending with aerith stonger and with tifa the date makes their whole development and even the build up for the 3rd game more impactful :)
but I always wonder why the makers put zacks scene right before the date scene. It kinda gives a soure taste in your mouth knowing how caring and loving zack is with aerth before in the next scene you see her having fun with cloud....idk at least for me their date doesn't feel canon 😅
@mi9110 while no date is "canon," the justification you gave for not considering the aerith one canon could have been better imo. I mean, they have a whole non-optional scene of zack being told aerith likes cloud and him accepting it. I don't think the game is worried about that.

I've watched many playthoughs, and have came to the same conclusion. Those that ship Cloud and Tifa exclusively and were insistent on having her seem to have a "meh, next game... I can't wait until we get to the under the highwind scene" reaction to the end of Rebirth. I guess the developers wanted it to be the player's choice and depending on those choices they get different things out of the game.
It probably doesn't help that getting the Tifa date changes the dialog between Cloud and Aerith at the end of the game.
@@xmant8842 The scene with Zack before the date, was a sincere question and not necessarily a reason. I was really wondering why, but whatever doesn’t change anything about my feelings 😅 There’re plenty more reasons for me, why cloud and aerith doesn’t feel like canon

I ended up getting Aerith the first time, not knowing that this was about to be a date. I actually played through the whole mission until that skywheel scene…once I realized the colossal fuck up I made, and that I was locked into a romance with Aerith, I STG I’ve never reloaded a save so quickly LOL. I was pretty annoyed because I had done 90% of the side missions up until til that point but apparently I was one short for the necessary affinity with Tifa. Nonetheless, I went and did the Chocobo championship mission and that was enough to get me Tifa 😌 All is right in the world. When she and Cloud kissed, I yelled out “Finally!” LOL. It’s about damn time.

First time through the game I ended up with a dog for my date also, yes it was Red13 😂 Fortunately in the new menu that unlocks in Chapter select you can pick your date and the outcome.

Hi. Bro my 1 playthrough i date with tifa, and now my game is completed. How csn i do for date for aerith ? I must play all game again ?
Have around 130 hrs in, all side quests available complete, all synergy skills available unlocked & used, all mini games/battles maxed and complete, all best dialogue options used, chose tifa at every story beat and i got yuffie even though i got tifa in ch. 8. Loaded my game right before the date, spent around 5 hrs or so running around the world & battling with tifa, using synergy skills out the a** since that's the only optional interaction i have available with anyone at this point, went back to the date and got ... Yuffie. Just gonna beat the game and set it manually in chapter select at this point cuz i don't know how i ended up with yuffie. It is still funny and enjoyable though

I had both aerith and tifa on blue smiley but i chose tifa on beach fight scene etc and ended up with her.
Not me spending all the time i can running around finishing everything in that level i possibly can before i continue 😂. Also i only ever went on a date with Aerith once that was my first time playing ff7 and beating it in early 1998. Yea i did get it in 1997 but it took some time. But there's a reason why i dont choose Aerith anymore and you'll all find why at the end of this game...
