I've got one of these that needs the same repairs. I have to coat the fuel tank first. I'll replace the fuel tank wicking as well. Nice work 👍thank you
So, is this the correct order of the gaskets and diaphragms? Starting on the carb side and working out to the plate/fuel intake side: A) CARB SIDE 1) Gasket 2) Diaphragm B) WHITE PLASTIC CENTER PLATE 3) Gasket 4) Diaphragm C) ALUMINIUM PLATE/FUEL INTAKE SIDE If so, this might explain why my saw only runs on a prime. I believe I have 3 and 4 reversed. 😐
Unfortunately not something that can be easily found. I use to have a spare one that i was going to copy and make new ones of but it's since long lost.
@@mistermacgray lol yeah i got 1 total it was a runner never worked on it. I was gonna get either a pow A pm 6 or this 4200. Probably a good idea but still need a pm6.
@@mistermacgray Thanks Bryan. Buddy bought one of these saws and took it apart and gave to me to get running.. I said why??? LOL. Time to see if the fuel connector is jacked and if the piston is ok then time to deal with this PITA saw. Thanks and great video...
Does this have 1/4 pitch? And if so how long is the bar? Recently picked one up with a 14 in bar and a 1/4 sprocket but no chain. Needing info on how many Drive links I need
I think it's a 12 inch bar (cut area) but never really measured. I was told the bar is .043 gauge but if it may be .050. I was told that stihl dealerships have this chain onnhand and can spin a loop. You can also upgrade to 3/8 chain and use a mini mac clutch drum.
@@mistermacgray thanks for the quick reply, I would like to get some 1/4 chain since the sprocket and bar are in good shape, if they were toast I wouldn't be against a 3/8 swap
It goes gasket then the diaphragm and plastic was on them after 1974 before they where magnesium plus’s that’s a Chinese carb kit they’re always something messed up in them I’ve ordered hundreds of them my friend I’ve gotten them where they have two needles in them so good luck I haven’t finished watching it yet but I sent it to my dad and he laughed his ass off watching this lol

Quirky little saws these. Mine has been sitting in its plastic carry case untouched for too long. I’ll have to get into it.
She's going good now.
Thanks sir! I learn so much from your teaching.
You are welcome

Got to love the Power Mac 6. These were much better made chainsaws back in the 70s. You sure can't buy quality like this anymore.
Can you tell me where to get the rubber fuel connector? Thanks

Is it possible to cut the flange that holds that fuel line to the wick and adapt it to a modern barrel type filter?
Its a possibility
Whats bryan grays 2nd favorite saws? I love me a big poulan just got a nice 4200
@ericfuller6326 anything with a 101 engine...if it's yellow and McCulloch...except the damn mini macs, trash those.

Hey brother, what is the part number for the rebuild kit? Thanks!
Walbro carburetor kit K1- MDC. The mini mac kits look similar but are not the same.

@Ted Miller they are better than the mini macs, just have to find the hard to find fuel line and other than that, great saws.
@@mistermacgray Yea so I see. I will see if the fuel line goes in alright but wish I was the one who disassembled to check everything out...
Bryan,
What's the Mac part number for the fuel nipple. Thanks.
67581 is the part number
I LIKE TO WATCH THESE VIDEOS I AM JUST GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO FIX THEM
Thank you. I encourage....no challenge you to fix one. That is my message, get your hands dirty, learn something new.

@@MechanicShananigans there is 3/8 chain thay will fit that bar, im sure whatever fits a mini mac will fit that.
Do you know of an aftermarket bar and chain set? I really want to get mine back 100%
Unfortunately I don't but these bars and chains are crazy common on ebay.
Where did you get that fuel line??? Those have been extinct for quite some time.
Ebay. One on there now for waaaay to much. Pretty much I stock up on parts now so when a saw comes my way I'm ready.

Are you open to selling any of your saws?
Nope, they are staying with me and being passed onto my daughter.

You have 3 pro Mac 6 my dad has 6 in a box my friend
Selling?
Little bit of fussing and a hole lot of cussing.
All four on my shelf in my house run and make at least one cut, all they had to prove to me.
