It amazes me that people even care about Game of the year awards... I only pick up like 3 or 4 yearly releases and this just so happens to be one of them for this year. I never played a Warhammer game and this has been a blast so far, it legitimately feels like a next gen XBOX 360 golden era game, it's so refreshing and nostalgic at the same time.
I think they were really close to something great. I loved world war z, and that game felt really good to play when you got good at it. I love the feeling of mowing down hoardes of enemies, but its just too easy to lose chunks of your health to ranged enemies and swarms. The melee combat feels really bad when you're being swarmed. Your melee attacks just dont have enough aoe to deal with smaller enemies. I really feel like if they reworked some of the melee mechanics, it would be a fantastic game. Easier said than done though because it could make melee op.
It won’t win GOTY because it doesn’t have as much as time as helldivers 2, I mean we already got stories like space Vietnam or the chaos divers, but it doesn’t have to be, it’s still top 3 best games released this year
Somewhere along the line, developers decided that they needed to make every game the only game that you're going to play this year. I'm just fine spending a few weeks playing Space Marine 2 and then moving onto another game.
I think it's game of the year because I haven't heard so many people having fun since forever. I haven't laughed, raged or just plan had fun with a game in so many years, in my books that makes it goty.
Funny to hear from multiple people, that space marine is a reminder of the 2010's and i have to agree with it. Linear ? Yes. PVP is wanky ? Yes. Short campaign ? Heck yes. But it's a darn fun game. Did the campaign twice with some friends, Rp'ing space marine voices and continuing on operation mode, killing xenos and heretics alike, insulting our assault friend that steals all the executions and just laugh when we blast that carnifex, who made the error to attack us, as we had 2 meltas and one heavy melta. It's a game in which you will play, have fun but don't feel engaged to. When i'll stop playing this game, somedays it won't be with regret, like Helldivers 2. I still regret stop playing it as i thought this was a gem, but now, it's not the case. Space marine 2 is also a fantastic opening to the warhammer franchise. Simple game, simple campaign. That's what we ask today. That's what the emperor wanted for us, to have fun. For in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only fashion war.
I am so so so glad to hear my feelings on this game are shared! I feel like I've heard so few people talking about it to the point where I completely forgot it even came out until a few days ago. I'm only a few hours in but it's completely reignited my love for the 40k universe, something I thought I lost a few years ago. My wallet is crying for help but this game is shit tons of fun. great job as always brad o7
Don't worry if you don't know the lore. You'll get briefed on what your duties are and what is expected of you very early in the game. You won't have any questions.
i beat the game solo on angel of death before the patch that made the companions more useful. it took me 24 hours total with all of the retries. beat it the day it released cause i had the preorder.
For 40K fans who have been into the hobby, it’s definitely game of the year. Games should want you wanting more, that is everyone is wanting from this game. Is more. Which is awesome cause I hope the explore other Warhammer Games, would love to see a revival of Dawn of War, hell I’ll take a classed base Warhammer survival craft, how the fuck would it work? No idea but could be awesome.
I do hope you can react to the lore videos. I know that reaction videos screw up the algorithm. If you do plan to make another channel, you can dedicate it to game lore. Many games out there have lore and lore channels dedicated to them.

Yup! I disagree on one thing. For how short the campaign might have been, it was fucking glorious. I felt so bad ass from start to finish. I have played it 3 times starting on normal and working my way up to the most “difficult” difficulty. And I want more. I’ve never played a War Hammer game before, but I’m familiar with the lore. But not too familiar to care where the faults lie in this title. I love this game, and I will continue to play it for the emperor!
I find the pvp stupid fun. Sure none of it makes sense, I feel like snipers can kill you in 1 shot or 5, grenades kill you instantly, spawns are goofy but its so much fun to run around and do stupid shit.

I gotta wait until October before I can buy this game and now I'm sad
Space Marine 2 is the best fun while wearing pants. Its most definetly a GOTY in my books
Modern gaming needs a time machine
i beat the game solo on angel of death before the patch that made the companions more useful. it took me 24 hours total with all of the retries. beat it the day it released cause i had the preorder.
Can we also mention the amazingly beautiful gory graphics
The part with the McDonald's movie killed me 😂😂😂😂😂
For 40K fans who have been into the hobby, it’s definitely game of the year.
This is def goty for me. Has the highest hour count of anything I bought this year.
Aaaargh so much hype pieces…My wallet is already crying please enough peak let my wallet rest!! I already got Gundam Breaker 4 (please check it out it it’s so good on god) now Sphez marine 2 and Black myth Wukong and more games on the way holy shit we are eating!!
If it doesn’t win GOTY then I hope it at least wins in some other categories like art direction .
Wow this video was fucking amazing made me cry al lil to wards the end. ( Im 100 % buying the game now)
I find the pvp stupid fun. Sure none of it makes sense, I feel like snipers can kill you in 1 shot or 5, grenades kill you instantly, spawns are goofy but its so much fun to run around and do stupid shit.
YEEEEEEEEEES HALO 3'S CAMPAIN IS THE BEST EVER MADE
I liked this video. I subbed to this channel. That’s all.
Dude…. NOW THAT IS A TRUE GAME REVIEW!!!😭👏🏻 Btw you should buy Space marine 2 and join the SALAMANDERS!!!
37 years bucko!
Not Game of the year…
GAME OF THE MILLENNIA
