    Currently writing this comment with a MX Master 3s. I've already got my return order placed on amazon for this piece of junk and ordered a Razer Pro Click Humanscale instead.
    No one told me that the MX Master 3s would somehow be a 125hz mouse in the 2020s despite being almost $100. What a joke. I ordered it thinking there's no way it's not a 1000hz mouse like is standard these days - but it's not.

    Good review. You did a great sound test, but you forgot to mention that the 3S mouse clicks also feel softer and mushier than the louder clicker 3!!! The soft mushy clicks on the 3S was the deal-breaker for me. Hopefully MX Master 4 adds back more crisp clicky mouse buttons like the 3 grrrr

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey C J, you're right, I should have placed more emphasis on the soft click feeling. I was so used to the Logitech Lift, which has the same soft click and noise that I forgot how jarring the change could be to users of the traditional MX line. I actually grew to love the soft click feeling because I still work just as far, but I can understand those who want that more tactile feel and confirmation. I think they will have to add it back to the MX4 because the soft click on the MX3S had mixed reception.

    • @Martin-lw8qb
      @Martin-lw8qb ปีที่แล้ว

      yea i noticed that too while testing them at the store. I think i will go with the 3 for that exact reason. The crisp clicks are the only difference that matter to me, the other 2 things i wouldnt care anyway so its the same mouse literally.

      I'm actually using the Vertical Lift for the majority of my daily use since I spend at least 8 hours on the computer, and I use the 3S on my second computer. I did a review about the Lift too, but I forgot to mention that you can get horizontal scrolling on it by using the back or forward side buttons to temporarily modify the vertical scroll wheel to a horizontal scroll wheel. Made a quick video about it if you're seriously considering the Lift.

    I sold my MX M3 to buy the 3S, I prefer the quieter clicks & the subtle thud (if you can call it that), but Logitech could've done more to tempt MX M3 users over, like moving the device switch button to the top, or if that wasn't possible right now, I don't see why device switching couldn't be added to the gesture button options. But you're right about the magspeed scroll, it would be hard to go back to normal scrolling. Cheers.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Kam, that is such an excellent point about moving the device switch button somewhere on the top. In addition to letting gestures perform the same function, they could have allowed the shift wheel button to be remapped to device switch too.

    • @najZSwe
      @najZSwe ปีที่แล้ว

      Was it worth it now that you used it a couple of months? I just yesterday bought the MX M3 Mac because my wireless Razer mouse was giving huge issues with the scroll wheel (1 click = 500% zoom usually)
      Anyway, I am now considering if I should return the MX 3 Mac and get the new 3S - I did get the M3 for 990 SEK (100 dollars/100 euros roughly) vs 1290 SEK (130 dollar/euros) for the new version, I didn't even know the 3S existed because I rushed to the closest store right before they closed since I am working in illustrator on a timeline - but there's a 50 day return policy so I would have no problem paying 30 dollars more if the software is actually better / if its easier to customize buttons etc, and the quieter clicks are something considered worth changing it out!

      I agree. The strange thing is that when I check Logitech's official website, I only see the MX 3 for Mac and MX 3 Business Mouse. I don't see a regular MX 3 product page, so I'm thinking the 3S will replace it and they'll stop making it? At all the other retailers with existing MX 3 stock, I guess they're still trying to sell it for the same price unless Logitech offers them some kind of rebate.

    I have both and will be returning the 3S hate the silent click seems cheap almost like because of parts shortages they just used switches from their cheaper mice. Also, the middle scroll button clicks when you push it in, so there is a disconnect in that, that will still click.
    I also have the 2S and actually prefer the shape of that the side scroll wheel is lower and the middle wheel is more clicky/ratchety when you set it to that mode, but still totally smooth when off.

    I love the mouse but hate the light grey color that I got. After only 1 month of use the light grey rubber is dirty and dingy and stained from the natural oils in my skin and nothing I used was able to get the staining out. I ended up buying a broken black MX 3 and putting the top shell from that onto the lower of the MX 3S. Now I don't have to worry about a nasty dirty looking mouse and it now imo looks cool with the black upper and silver lower part. Also regarding tracking on glass, it does work. I bought a glass mouse pad a few weeks ago and it works like a dream. The difference between my glass mouse pad and what you used is that my glass mouse pad has a texture etched into it, or rather casted? into it. Where the surface isn't completely smooth, but this is definitely the best mouse pad I have EVER used and it works with old Redragon mouse too.

    You don't need to click the button to scroll without the tactile increments. That automatically changes when you scroll quickly, which is the best feature. The only problem is that when you do click the button and scroll slowly without the tactile feel, it still scrolls the screen incrementally rather than smoothly, so there is never smooth scrolling. Hmm, I don't recall experiencing this issue even with the MX 3 because I used it since Dec 2019 without issue. I'm on WIndows, I use it with BT and I ensure that in Device Manager, BT is set to never turn off to save power. I researched the issue to see what you were referring to, and I can see that yes, some users report this issue, but a decent amount of them are using a MAC. Were you experiencing this issue on MAC or WIndows? Some users also mentioned turning off Smooth Scrolling and Smart Scrolling in the Logitech software options, and I had those options already turned off. Not sure if they are relevant settings? I've also had a handful of firmware updates for the mouse through the Logitech software.
      To answer your question though, I don't experience any scrolling delay on the MX 3S either.

      @@lubomirnedvidek9857 I really haven't noticed it and I'm on Windows on a BT connection, which is supposed to have more latency than the USB receiver. I think the mouse shuts off power when it isn't used for a while to save battery because on my second computer where I use the MX3, I just watch Twitch or YT in background and if I don't touch the mouse for a half hour or more, it has to wake up, but once it does, it's perfectly fine. If I understand correctly though, you're experiencing a scrolling delay on and off even when the mouse is fully active during regular use. Also, do you have Smooth Scrolling and Smart Shift on or off? I have both off on my end.

    Great review. My wife has been a long user of mice like the MX Master 2s she never wanted to upgrade (I use a MX Master 3) since it can work on almost any surface. She wasn't a heavy laptop user, I had got her a chromebook from Acer and she eventually told me she hated it so I gifted her my Pixelbook i7 with 512GB NVMe SSD and 16GB RAM with a crazy near 4K touchscreen and totally silent. I then did some engineering and got it to run windows 10 with all features. Then I left my MX3 as her mouse. She immediately wanted one. Lol. So she has the MX3s now in Pale Grey which matches the Pixelbook. She likes the quiet buttons, I like more tactile. 4000 dpi works fine for me. Love these mice use USB C charging.

      Hey @alk3myst (cool name btw)! Great to hear that she loves the MX3S, I've gotten so used to silent clicks now that I find it strange when a mouse has a loud audible click now. Some people hate the quiet click because they feel like there isn't enough tactile feedback without it also, but I love it! Yea the USB type C charging is handy too. Maybe later we might even get wireless charging on a compatible Qi enabled mouse pad. Waiting to see what they do with the MX4 next. Btw, just a heads up that the Pale Grey can get discolored quickly. I've been wiping mine down with a damp cloth every couple of weeks to avoid it. Thanks for watching 🙂

    Hi, I am not good at IT, PC etc technical issues 😀 and so I have few queries, if anyone can kindly help me..... I have Asus TUF Z 370 Plus Gaming motherboard and Intel i5- 8600 K processor in my PC. It's a Windows 10 Pro system. I am a professional photographer and do a lot of photo editing in Photoshop.
    My queries are-
    1) Can I use the Bluetooth option of MX 3S ? ( I'm not sure if my system support Bluetooth)
    2) Can the USB Bolt receiver be used even if Bluetooth isn't supported in my system?
    3) How long will the inbuilt battery of MX 3S work ? Is it required to change after it dies out? Is it's battery available separately?
    4) Will the Pale Grey colour stain out, get patches, dirty quickly in comparison to the Black or Graphite coloured ones? Which colour will be the best choice, in terms of retaining good looks for long time?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ranjan, your motherboard doesn't have Bluetooth, but you can always buy a Bluetooth USB adapter to add that functionality pretty easily since it just plugs into any USB port. These usually cost $20 USD or less.
      2) You can use the Bolt Receiver even if you don't have Bluetooth.
      3) The battery life will really depend on how often you use it every day, but overall I find the battery life to be good.
      4) The pale grey will definitely show stains and get dirty if you don't wipe it down with a damp cloth every week or couple of weeks, so It's better to get the black or graphite color. I would still wipe these down with a damp cloth every once in a while since the exterior can degrade when in contact with oils from the skin.
      Hope that helps.

I have the MX is black, which doesn't show anything. I think you should be fine with the MX Mini because the material is different than on the MX3S. The MX3S material reacts poorly with moisture and oils from the skin. You think they would have listened to all the complaints from the previous MX model and fixed it by now. Disappointing really.

    I love my MX 2S, but the thing has just died. The problem seems to be the gesture button fails when the rubber cover over it deforms as it hardens and ages, causing the button to be partially pressed all the time. Really not happy about that, and seriously wonder how long the 3 and 3s mice will last since they use a similar design and materials.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had the original MX 3 since late 2019 and it doesn't have any issues with the buttons. The left click button is a bit shiny because of how many clicks I've put into it. I use it for at least 10 hours a day without issue. I do clean the exterior of it with a damp cloth about once a month because I do notice that the exterior picks up a lot of dust and oils from my hand. In terms of mechanical function, no issues though.

      @@sidundead13 Yea for such an expensive mouse, you'd expect more than 2 years of use. I once asked Logitech if they had a way to keep track of mouse clicks, and they said no. I wish they could track that so we can compare failure based on click volume. Cameras keep track of shutter counts, so I don't know why they won't implement such a simple tracking metric.
