WWI Reenactment 2023 GoPro AEF 109th Infantry 28th Div trench raid gone wrong

This is GoPro first person footage of the largest WWI reenactment in the US. This event takes place every year in Newville PA. This event is private to reenactors only. You must become a GWA member and join a unit to participate in this event. This was recorded by a GoPro hidden in a gas mask bag positioned on my chest.

Its a M1917 Enfield and yes its real.

Neither. Its called reenacting.

@@williamhalsted4 its a reenactment to keep the history of the first world war alive. You can look at it as a “game” if you want but it has a purpose. Go to the Great War Association website to learn more about this event

@@sgt_sally The attention to detail is impressive. It looks like the guns are real and not airsoft. I understand the concept of reenactment, but wanted to know how this was done. Were actions scripted to match history, or was it a historical/roleplay "game" where you simulated combat, such as with airsoft, and let that drive how the reenactment unfolded?

@@williamhalsted4 the guns are all real. We use blank rounds. Also there is no script at all. We dont reenact a specific battle or reenact a specific scenario during the first world war. We simply reenact the first world war as a whole in late 1918 and whatever happens, happens and is not controlled on what actually goes on.
