This was a lifesaver for me. I took mine apart like 9 months ago to try and fiddle with the laser. Ending up getting a replacement just yesterday and had no idea how this thing went back together. This is the kind of content that YT is made for. Thanks!!
mine doesn't work anymore so I want to take it apart to repurpose it for decoration. I kinda wanna put a very luminous glowing speaker inside it and cover it up with the shell pieces. this video is very helpful for my useless journey. Also anyone upset about my project should know ill be selling the parts and also I have a Wii that can play game cube games soooo I have no use for it anymore.
I was JUST doing those screws at 6:21 , and I stripped the last one beyond repair. So, after going through the stages of grief in less than a full second, I just used a pair of needle-nosed pliers to just simply TWIST that last stubborn screw out of its place.
0:51 Did you attach that 4.5mm security bit to hex end driver end and unscrew screws? or did you use long 4.5mm security screwdriver that is one piece? thanks
eBay is a good place to look for parts. The “Game Bit” screw heads you can find on eBay or Amazon. There aren’t any particular part sites I can think of that sell this stuff.
Hey my gamecube light will come on for like 2 seconds but then go off and the fan will come on and stay on. What do you think could be wrong? Thank you!
@@FlyingV555 No the console does not show any video or sound. It stopped doing everything but the fan running and the light coming on for 2 seconds. Any ideas?
Pretty cool but you never showed the picture or included in your video. What the main screws were that you took off with the long socket, instrument or tool
Question my GameCube video will go out here and there to were I have to wiggle it or unplug and plug it back in and yes I have newer cable what’s seems to be the problem and how to fix it ?
The A/V port on the console might be shot, or is loose on the board. It needs to be either reflowed or replaced. That requires a soldering iron, solder wick, and fresh solder. If it’s shot you’re gonna need a replacement port.
I’m aware. The 001 also had the separate board that the fan and power button plug into (as shown in the video). The 101 had everything plug into a single board, which is way more convenient and saves some space.
9:25 my gamecube doesn't have anything under the metal plate... Is there something wrong with mine? Its a dol 101 so its a different model. As far as I know this was my cousins childhood gamecube, so no one would have messed with it
It’s a different model. The 001 model (which is the one you see in the video) had the extra board that the fan plugged into. They combined everything into one single board on the 101 model. I’m pretty sure on that. I haven’t taken apart a 101 in a while so I can’t say for sure.
@@FlyingV555 talking about myself. I took the spring and everything from the lid. You didn't have to do that like I did i was painting parts of the game cube

Thanks for this! I always rather watch a video before I do something like this myself and this was perfect.
Nice job.. I'm glad you slowed down so I could see what screws go in what component
Father in Law just found someone throwing one away with the GBA Adaptor Attached.
Never had one before, and this was perfect thank you!
Thank you. This video really helped me disassembled mine . I had a lens reading issue. Now it’s fixed.

Interesting use for a GameCube case.
Thank god, i dropped one of the brackets on the last layer under the board and i wasn’t looking so I didn’t know where it went, big ups guy❤

I like the original Nintendo game cube the dol 001 allows 480p high definition graphics
great repair video love this console still thanks for sharing
Ok, so where would I find parts to do repairs if something is broken? Do you have any links to repair tools and repair part sites?

its my childhood console

The solder joints for the LED could be cracked or loose. Does the console actually work and play games? Or is it just the light?

@@FlyingV555 OK awesome. Thank you so much for replying. Didn't think you'd respond at all and especially not that fast
everything was going good till you skipped the putting the lid back on lol
What do you mean I put the lid back on and told you to put the screws back in. Not mad btw.
