This video lasted longer than an Amstrad product. 😀 I have a Sugar story. I stood next to the then plain old Alan Sugar at a urinal in the gnarly toilets at Earl's Court exhibition centre in the late 80's during a computer show. He was famous even back then as a scary, intimidating, no-nonsense guy, but was admired and respected. And horror of horrors, we made eye contact ! He looked down at my 'equipment', and he said in that Cockney twang; "Cold, innit !" Not everyone can claim to have their genitalia appraised and dismissed by a business legend ! 😂
Harry...I am addicted to your channel! You're a gifted storyteller, and I could listen to these vignettes all day long. And on top of it all they're full of useful insights and information. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom, experience, and sense of humour.
Sugar strikes me as a basic businessman that successfully built his business at the best time but who wouldn't last 5 seconds trying to set up from nothing nowadays. I've always found his personality, or lack thereof, exceptionally dull. So the fact that you managed to squeeze a bit of personality out of the guy in your brief moments with him just speaks to your talent.
He described his own products as a "Mug's Eyeful", which neatly sums up the quality of his HiFi - made to appear like expensive Japanese products but cobbled together out of off the shelf parts, and gives some idea of what he thought of his customer base.
Sorry, but as much as the BBC love to aggressively promote the programmes they think are ratings winners 'The Apprentice' is long past its best before date.
I've watched it this year for the first time in ages and it's definitely not what it was. It's half entertaining if you don't take it too seriously atleast!

I love your videos. One can learn so much about portraiture from your videos. Glad you don’t focus on the technical, gear etc.

Interesting! Did you read about this somewhere?
@@fredandharryborden yes, probably in a Guardian article. Will check.
He wasn't on a market stall. He sold aerials and similar electrical and electronic items to retailers to build up his business.
I'm surprised there isn't a film or something about his come up! And I heard he worked at Petticoat Lane market?
Sweet.
A Trump w/ integrity. haha
Don't tell me there's another person in this world like trump!!! Nice video, though!
Haha!
