So far you are the ONLY person on TH-cam that has bypassed the resistor wire. Everyone else must not read the instructions. I installed Pertronix on my son's 1960 Falcon and ran the positive wire from the Pertronix back to the ignition switch like you did. I just left the factory resistor wire in place going to the factory coil though. It has worked perfectly for over 2 years now.

So why not use a 12v 30 amp contact with diode across the + & - of the coil Bosch style relay to get 12v dc to the pertronix module. 15 amp inline fuse for batt + to relay. Pertronix now offers this kit. I put together my own, less expensive.
