Why so lot of people forget about Silverwing? She was a bit smaller than Vermithor, but larger than Dreamfyre while being younger, and she still was one of the largest Targaryen dragons
Right. She's probably the 4th largest Targaryen dragon. And she is quite smart considering how she kept herself away from the dragon brawl at Tumbleton.

Balerion because he is Balerion. Granny Vhagar because she has the highest kill count, with the possible exception of Balerion. The Cannibal because he is the coolest. Caraxes because he is the most gangster dragon in all of Westeros. Those are my favorites.

My favorite is Tessarion but I have huge admiration for Sunfyre, he survived and won multiple battles while still being badly injured and crossed the Blackwater on a half-torn wing to find his master, his strength for his age and tenacity were truly unmatched. Aegon's bond with his dragon Sunfyre is stronger than any other bond between a dragon and their rider.

When I read Fire and Blood I really liked Vermithor and during House of the Dragon I always wanted to see him. I'm glad they showed him in the last episode. If I was born a Targaryen in House of the Dragon I would choose the Bronze Fury.
@@sentientmustache8360 Nice My 2nd choice would probably be Caraxes, Vhagar is cool but the Girl is too Old. Dragons that just reached the 100s means they're in there prime but over 150 then they're to old in my book.
@@DTS_I Nice good choices, I think Sunfyre would be ranked 3rd for me because even though we only got a glimpse of him in episode 7, he looked cool. Its a shame his rider is a pathetic person.
Vermithor is super cool, good choice! I had a hard time choosing tho. Love Tessarion's colours and her blue fames but I have huge admiration for Sunfyre. He’s so beautiful and big as fk despite being under 20 years old at most, he is tied for the highest dragon kills with Vhagar despite being way smaller, and he’s the loyalest dragon ever and goes farther for his rider than anyone. As he was suffering terrible suffering and pain,he crossed Blackwaters with a half torn wing to help his rider. His tenacy was amazing
There are so many angles we can see Martins universe from. Northern Essos for example got the island Ibben. A species looking like short hairy but stocky humans. They are whale hunters and share traits with both vikings and dwarves. They can mate with humans but it results in stillborns or abominations most of the times. If you travel further east along the coast you will stumble upon "The thousand islands" which in reality is prob less than 300 according to IB travellers. On those islands lives a weird species of humanoid with hairless small bodies and greenish skin. They resent outsiders and are deathly afraid of water. If we go even a bit further east we come to the end of the known world and a forest called "far Mossovy" or just "Mossovy". Once we get through the dense and humid forest and start heading southwest a red sea reaches our gazes. The bleeding sea is called so because of its red water caused by a plant which bloom colours the water. Directly to the west of the bleeding sea lies the plains of Jogos Nhai. Inhabitated by a humanoid folks which rides horses and lives as nomads like the Dothraki. However the Jogos Nhai got pointed heads since binding their heads as children and they rides zorses. If we manage to escape them to the far south we will enter the kingdom of Yi Ti. A very rich and lush kingdom with vast jungles and riches beyond imagination. There lives a folk which bears resemblence to old China. As we evade the tigers and ambundance of lethal fauna we reach the city of Yi and the coast. We manage to get hold of a ship and starts to sail even further south over the jade sea. To our east the island of Leng lies. I will not advice that we set ashore there. The city buildings at the heart leads down far into the earth. Those who enter either returns mad and unable to tell us of their story or does not return. Once Leng is behind us we turn east. As a coast emerges on the horizon the suns light starts to dim....quite odd since it is around noon... We reach Asshai. An enormous city at the very southeastern edge of Essos. Asshai, with buildings so black they absorb the sunlight. Nothing grows there. Nothing lives there....except those who dabbles in the dark arts of darkbinding or demonology. Those who searches for riches can do so here since there is no water or food grown naturally here but they have gold and gems in abundance. Thus if you got fresh water and food you shall be rewarded well. We shall not go there but beyond Asshai is the Shadowlands which is believed to be the origin of the dragons. There also lies Stygai. A cursed city so evil that there is probably only one spot which is worst in the world. We enter our ship and set sails to the south once more. To the east we can see a landmass with dense jungle, the continent of Ulthos. However i know nothing further of the place. We shall not venture there today. We turn to the west and sail for many days. As a new land reveals itself itself as the continent Sothoryos! A vast continent said to dwarf Westeros. Here lies arguably the greatest dangers known to man. More diseases than there are men. Amongst them are: blood boils, green fever, dancing plague, sweetrot, bronze pate, the Red Death, greyscale, brownleg, wormbone, sailor's bane, pus-eye, and yellowgum. All with a high lethality. The fauna will not be discrimenated tho! There are basilisks, wyverns, lizardmen and giant apes amongst other dangers! We follow the northern coast of Sothoryos to the west to discover that the whole continent seems to be a grand jungle, but there is in fact one place i wish to show you while here! Once we reach the west sid of Sothoryos we will release the anchor and take a skip to land. Before we enter the dense jungle i must fir warn you. The place we shall visit is so evil nothing grows there, no one lives there and like with Asshai it is completely built by an black oily rock. We enter the jungle to the south. Big white bats chases us even further south. I raise my hand to stop us and points to the now visible desolate city of Yeen. A place so evil we shall not venture fort but instead start walking northwest. Once back on the coast we will see Gogossos. The city ruins after the old kingdom of Ghis. Further beyond that we will see Toad island and tear island. Our ship picks us up at the decaying harbour and we head west. There we see a set of islands called "the basilisk islands". We will quickly pass it since pirates often travels and lives there. The island of Naath is the next place on our journey. Here lives a peaceful people who refuses to fight or battle. All is not well tho. We can only stay here for a few hours otherwise we might contract the butterfly fever, Which symptoms are feeling ill, spasms and sweating blood amongst others. We replentish our food storages and then we set sail once more. Before we keep heading west ill show a spot directly to the north on the southern border of Essos. There lies the once great kingdom of Valyria. Now only ruins filled with brindle men and sadness lives there. To the southeast across the summer sea we find a set of island refereed to as the Summer islands. There lives a darkskinned tall folk which craft great wooden bows powerful enough to penetrate steel. This was a common ground to find slaves which the gorvernment of Summer islands provided. A practice which ended when a rebellion of slaves shut it down. Heading North we come across the step stones. Our boat is not ment for such narrow sailing so we shall not go through there. But if we would we would find the narrow sea which is the sea between Westeros and Essos. Even further we will come to the island Skagos which is directly to the west off the coast of the wall. There lives a cannibalious people who used to practice raiding on the mainland the north. But the Starks put an end to it by destroying their boats and forbidding them to build new ones. There is said to be unicorns on Skagos. I cannot confirm this tho. Back to the stepstones. We travel west and passes the southern coast of Dorne. After that we reach Oldstown on the southwestern edge of Westeros. The magnificent citadel is a wonder to behold. Further up north we would reach Lannisport, then ironmans bay, The ice bay and lastly the lands of always winter. Now now! Time for us to go on our true journey to the unknown in the west. Elissa Farman apparently sailed there to never return. But according to one of her travelcompanions did return and told the story of 3 island at least a month's journey ahead of us. We shall now set full sails and cross the Sunset sea!!!
@@Jodi1206 It is just a page XD But this is my point. There are soooooooooo much in that world that can be explored. And i did not even mention all of it since i mainly kept to the coast.
Sunfyre being one of the youngest Dragons of his time, several times younger than any Dragon in this top (except Daenerys Dragons) and the youngest Dragon to defeat another Dragon. Survived a battle with 3 dragons (two were much older than him, and Meleys was the strongest dragon of the Blacks, she may kill Vhagar in 1 vs 1 battle), which is an absolute record. Survived being wounded and unable to fly an attack by an army of soldiers on the ground. An absolute legend in the Dragon Dance. He died in peace being the last major dragon under Targaryen control. If he had been several times older, he would have been a death machine. It's too bad we barely got to see him in the first season of the series and because he's for the Greens, people treat him unfairly harshly. Poor golden boy😢
Sunfyre had the record of dragons kills counts along Vhagar despite of being smaller and the youngest.Vhagar and him all most single handedly won the war for Aegon down the stretch with back to back victories in duels on Dragonstone.15 dragons from the Blacks and just 4 of the Greens and Vhagar and Sunfyre won most of battles. He couldn't even fly properly because his wing half healed at an awkward angle yet Sunfyre still killed Grey Ghost upon arriving at Dragonstone. Then with injuries sustained from both his battles with Meleys and Grey Ghost, Sunfyre is able to kill Moondancer as he's already on death's door and refuses to die until he secures Aegon's victory first.Sunfyre's a legend
I agree with you.I'm convinced if Sunfyre had lived for as long as Balerion, his eventual peak would have put even the Black Dread to shame, considering how powerful he already was at a much younger age.Sunfyre was like 20 and was already big as fk and beautiful. Balerion only ever fought one other dragon and that was the comparatively puny quicksilver. Sunfyre had three.Balerion is the most powerful dragon in the history of Westeros, but sunfyre has the most impressive story imo.
It is not about the size or experience of the dragon but it was the bond with the rider. Sunfyre the golden represented everything majestic about a dragon. burned and battered still flew to Dragonstone for Aegon, survived Meyls, flew with a half healed wing, fought and killed Grey Ghost, killed Moon Dancer, and delivered the killing blow to Rhaenyra
Yet Sunfye would get his ass whooped by Caraxes, Vhagar, Balarion, Meleys and others. Daemon seems to have the strongest bond of all dragon riders since he can give orders non verbally
People are all of a sudden feeling the need to diss Vhagar even though her track record is far more impressive than just about any other Dragon. She tore Caraxes apart and would've taken out Meleys with or without Sunfyre there as well. She's big and old but she's not incapable.
@@tempestbully_kennels6029 yeah after suicide bombing her behind the sun. And even then, while being bitten on the throat, she ripped open his belly and a wing. Caraxes is a beast but Vhagar was called the Queen of Destruction for a reason
@@tempestbully_kennels6029 Lmao Meleys wouldn't have stomped. She never would've survived an actual fight, Meleys is lucky that she's fast. And even then, speed didn't save Arraxk. Also, Caraxes got his wing torn off and his chest/belly sliced open by Vhagar as well so... Vhagar killed him.
Vermithor is arguably one of the strongest dragons. Bigger in size yes, which does play a key role when considering speed and agility. Despite that he did hold his own against two of the fastest and very strong dragons and all three dragons had considerable great battle experience. Me being bias - I still think it should've been written that Vermithor killed both sea smoke as well as Tessarion. He does kill Sea smoke but soon dies because of his wounds he sustained from both sea smoke and tessaron. Despite all that. I do hope the writers of the show, actually put in the myth as it is stated in the book a myth, but hopefully silver wing tries to get Vermithor to fly once's more. I always loved that detail.
Silverwing should at least be on this list... she's the third largest dragon in the war, yes she is calm and friendly but I'm sure she'd dismantle smaller dragons listed here if she were to fight, other than that, good list, you're the most reliable unbiased channel who does these lists
Meleys would absolutely be a match for Vhagar I think, if there wasn't the storm to contend with, Arrax would be able to outpace Vhagar, and Meleys is both far bigger than Arrax and nimbler than Vhagar, plus Rhaenys was a more experienced dragon rider, she'd easily have the fight if she weren't doubled up on.
@@outbobthelaw2248 it never really said defeated but she could go toe to toe with her it’s easy it forget that meleys is a huge dragon but she’s fast aswell
Seeing the skull of Balerion I initially doubted if he could actually swallow a mammoth. Then I saw a video of how a Komodo dragon swallows its prey. The back of the jaw widens, similar to a snake, and the whole throat can expand. They can swallow things you wouldn't expect them to, easily. Interestingly, the word "dragon" comes from the Greek "drakon", meaning "serpent" or "snake".
I'm still trying to figure out how's danys dragons especially drogon got so big that fast, like drogon is only 8 but is in the same size category as dragons like caraxes and meleys who are in there 50s/60s and 70s, so what's up there they are way bigger then they should be for their age, my theory is that the Lord of light knew that the white walker invasion wasn't far away and was basically like "WE NEED DRAGONS AND WE NEED EM BIG NOW"
Well in the show Drogon is way larger than in the books. It’s prettier to have big dragons than small ones, right? Caraxes should be around 65 meters by the time of the dance and Drogon 40 or so (which is still a lot of u compare it to his age). I think the determining factor was that he was free all his life. Dragons get smaller when caged.
@@protofx8060 in the books drogon is only slightly smaller then what he was dipicted in the show since we know that vhagar is 150 meters long now caraxes should be around 75 and drogon should be around 55 but my theory is that it’s got to do with his breed think about it 3 of the 5 largest dragons off all time are in the same breed balerion vermithor and drogon maybe they just grow faster
Daenery's did not chain up Drogon. He grew up flying around Essos. The Targaryen dragons' growth were stunted when they were chained up (Rhaegal, Viserion)
@@leonardbrazil5497 it could very well be who knows ! Dragons are magical creatures and although we see them often they are rare and mysterious. We know very little about them. Personally I think It’s not because of the breed that they are larger, but because on what they are specialized. Drogon Balerion and Vermithor are dragons who excel in battle, they are in a way, made for it. Necks closer to the body and a huge upper torso depicting their battle strength. If u are strong in battle, you live longer and therefore become larger. At east that is how I see it ! Tell me what u think about it 😄
@@protofx8060 you could be right but the only problem that I have with that argument is that dragons ain’t initially built for war yes there magical in nature but they are just animals but the way I se it working is that the breeds do play quite a big difference in it. for example the wolf breed are slender in nature usually large heads with pointed features like caraxes and vermax they also seem to grow pretty fast over the time skip vermax grew to be around the size off viserion he even looks larger then syrax who is 10 to 15 years older then him and then the horse breed grow slower but are the more muscular out off all the breeds Syrax’s head is huge so is meleys and sunfyre’s but they seem to grow slower like horse do in IRL then the dis pair breed they grow to be massive right out the gates they grow faster then all the other dragon breeds that’s why at 95 years old vermithor is already 75 to 85% the size off vhagar that’s the way I se it anyway but it would make sense why balerion grown to be so huge I think he was supposed to be 300 meters long so twice the size off vhagar. @@22s22a first of all it’s not juste slightly bigger, they are more then 20 years Appart if I remember well and 20 years, dragon wise, is a lot. @@22s22a Vaghar is a beast, a queen. Her fire is described as able to melt stone. Only balerion the black dread was able of such a thing. Of course I believe that Vermithor is super strong, I would never say otherwise but I strongly think that Vaghar would have the upper hand in a dragon battle.
@@22s22a Caraxes is a beast, he is described as the most ferocious dragon of the new generation. Plus in the fight above the god’s eye versus Vaghar Caraxes dips right for Vaghar’s neck in a surprise attack. Did anyone else notice how destructive Drogons fire is? Literally instantly obliterates everything…I wonder if that just an inconsistency in GoT but I haven’t really seen fire power as strong as his yet
Well Drogon was said to be the second coming of Balerion. Both his growth and fire power may have had a magical boost of sorts as well, his growth-rate was abnormal along with both of his brothers although he was the largest of the two.
But in books said that caraxes fire can vaporize man even in armour, and we have seen glimbs of his different type of fire in battle of the stepsons ,his fire looks like molten lava in that episode.
@@MaiKaioXer0 well he is still small il books ,and viserion and rhagel didn't have that much difference in size with him so you are saying they all the re incarnation of balerion ,and drogon is the third official black dragon i think??
@@Hydra-og6jf It was stated in the show itself how Drogon is the reincarnation of Balerion. Appearance, color, growth rate, power, all seem to be leading up to that. Anyway about their sizes, GRRM said everything that's happening on the show is actually real, because in the books it's all written by 'Maesters'. A fine example would be how in the books there was no mention of Aemond not meaning to kill Lucerys and their dragons actually disobeyed them.
That is only said by redditors and youtube commenters. There is like 3 lines of dialogue about cannibal, and none of them are about his size, strenght or age.
Vhagar would best vermithor now that caraxes vs vhagar is being put on film they’ve made it more distinct why caraxes would win he’s a harder target to hit due to his slender body and he could easily out manoeuvre her for a killing blow while vhagar and vermithor as more or lose the same shape just ones slightly smaller so in there fight I think it comes down to who’s the stronger dragon strength wise
@Vuk Car I don't know about that, the big question is whether Vermithor's ferocity outweighs the size advantage Vhagar has, especially since I don't think vermithor has a huge advantage of maneuverability due to being only a bit smaller than Vhagar. Vhagar is a bit of a lazy dragon with her age though, so that's where Vermithor would need to capitalise on it.
Spoiler alert: If I understood correctly, it's Caraxes who will finish Vhagar? So Caraxes is more powerful and should be in 3rd position... even if Caraxes dies soon after... he still managed to kill a dragon twice his size. right?
@Vuk Car there is literally nothing that says he is faster than caraxes lmao he got his ass beat by seasmoke that too in a three way battle! Caraxes would whoop vermi easily
Caraxes is literally just outwardly superior to Vhaegar. I don’t know why people just assume that the larger the dragon is, the more powerful the dragon is. It’s just not true. Vhaegar is described and blatantly shown to be old, and slow. I mean Vhaegar also canonically LOSES TO CARAXES. Caraxes kills Vhaegar above the God’s Eye and Caraxes climbs out of the water after the fight still alive and ultimately dies a bit later meaning he outlasted Vhaegar. Caraxes is younger, in his prime, super experienced as well, faster, more versatile/nimble, and outwardly won in a 1v1 fight against Vhaegar.
I think seasmoke has been my favorite color of dragon so far, but I would want silverwing, Meleys, or syrax as a mount. In that order. Silverwing would be great to have in battle, she should be massive compared to dreamfyre since she’s never spent a significant amount of time in the dragon pit, so her growth has never been limited. But still has enough in the air to flee if needed. Not only that but biggest advantage silverwing brings to the table is she can increase the number of mounts you have for dragon warfare. The idea would be her hatchlings would be for your children, but even Dany’s 2 riderless dragons joined her in battle without riders… maybe you could encourage riderless dragons to fly with your dragon. Meleys is my second choice bc her speed is a real advantage. Her size and power are great, but since she never laid any eggs I would rather have silverwing knowing that I could potentially hatch more dragons for my house. Syrax my third choice bc although she’s lazy and not the ideal mount to fly into battle, she lays a shit ton of eggs and is the main source of the blacks dragons. She could basically give you your own small army of dragons given enough time. That’s a pretty big advantage to have.
You should have said this has spoilers for HOTD and GOT fans that have not read Fire and Blood! I am sure it is a great video, but I want to forget as much as I can in order to be surprised by the TV show and then revisit the book and videos like this one.
I think Drogon was only like a few years old at the end of Game of Thrones so he has the potential to grow much larger, possibly rivaling Balerion or Vhagar if he lives long enough. I may be wrong though
He is 7 in the show. They made him way larger than the books because they wanted him to look cooler. But in the books he was still massive for his age. Its heavily implied Drogon is Balerion reborn in the books
WIght Viseryon is the top 3. He's definitely the fastest of all dragons, doesn't tire, and is under complete control of the rider, the NK. I imagine only valyrian steel could kill him. Dragon glass wouldn't penetrate his scales.
The thing with Vermithor is that we won't really see him at his best. There's a helluva difference between a cultivated team with a Targaryen that's been trained since birth alongside them and... Some random blacksmith
I have my doubts about Caraxes, Daemon is a great horseman (maybe the best), but aside from his sacrifice to stop Vhagar, Caraxes doesn't do much else (and he dies in that battle), while others on the list, like Sunfyre, they resisted much more things in their best moments
@@ssgfgc4639 Hahaha, just because Caraxes had an epic moment where he didn't even really win (it was a suicide attack), Sunfyre had at least three throughout history and survived them all, literally the golden chicken proved stronger than Caraxes , the difference between them was their respective riders and the potential they reached with them.
@@ssgfgc4639 You mean compared MVP Sunfyre the dragon that obtained more victories in the whole History despite to being X10 younger than all the players with overrated Caraxes.
I’ve heard it in multiple videos but I think the idea of measuring the badassness of drogon by saying you could feel the heat from his flame 30ft away is enormously silly. You can feel the heat 30ft away from a good size bonfire 😂😂😂
This top is a little bit strange You put sunfyre and Seasmoke bur not - Dreamfyre -Silverwing -Meraxes -The Cannibal which are much bigger and probably more powerful (especially for Meraxes and the Cannibal)
Almost nothing about tha Cannibal is said in the books. Nothing says he was bigger and more powerful than other dragons. Nothing is said about his size. He preys on small dragons and thats all we know about him
@@ben1ben2ben1 we also know that he is very old, he was already here when Aegon 1 came for the first time at Westeros. And for dragons, age is a strong indicator of size. The cannibal seems to be at least as old as Vhagar and lived in open space, everything seems to say that it is as large as her and therefore much bigger than Sunfyre and seasmoke that were born during the reign of Viserys 1.
What about wild dragons (at least Cannibal (or Sheepstealer? I forgot), which can be compared to Vhagar and joined team Black) and Silverwing? Also, Seasmoke is more experienced than Drogon and his brothers.
I would have put Dannys 2 smaller dragons in a tie for the same spot. I'm also including the undead dragon in the tie as well. And then I would give the open spot to the cannibal. And put him somewhere in the top 4.
Yeah that would be such a great show. Aegon shows up and kicks everyone's ass with no resistance. Dorne gets one lucky shot in and thats the end. Sounds so interesting
Denerys calls viserys viserion at dragon stone during one episode but the dragon is called viserys like viserys the king in hod and viserys denerys brother not viserion. Youd think she'd remember the name of her own children lol. Reynerer called Damon's dragon coraxes in the ep 4 of hod but it's called cyrax.
In the books Rhaegal is stated to have proved himself to be more aggressive and fearless than his brother Viserion so I woulda placed him higher than Viserion
Drogon is my favourite dragon I’ve seen on any of the shows he’s such a badass in season 8 episode The Bells when he destroys King’s Landing. I love his look, his black & red colouring and I’d love to see how big he is when he reaches the age of 100yrs old
This whole countdown is way off. You put Drogon at number 7. Also you put seasmoke on the count down but not silverwing or the cannibal. Also you need to do more research or watch the show alittle more before making videos. So that you can make sure you have your facts straight
Didn't cyrax which is Damon's dragon fight vagar? It's one of the main battles of hod Damon leaps from cyrax and skewers amond after cyrxs guts get raked out by vagar. I've not read any of the books and they will change the story for the show but they stuck to the basic timeline so far with vagar and arrax now meleys fighting sunfire and vagar.
I would put caraxes over any other dragon in the show just because he was big long aggressive and the most battle savvy unlike any other dragon...verthimor could be closer and maybe meleys ...plus caraxes had the most skilled and experienced dragon rider in westeros....and remember by the time the dance of the dragon is at its peak caraxes is half the size of vhagar...put all that on one dragon and you get a beast for sure 💯
Yes he did kill sea smoke and greatly wounded Tesserion to the point the dragon couldn’t fly and was suffering from his would so bad that a experience black wood archer shot 3 arrow’s into his eye so he wouldn’t have to suffer anymore
The gods eye wasn’t some aerial kaiju battle where they were trading blows like I seen some ppl believe, the battle was over as soon as it began. The only reason Caraxes “won” was because daemon kamikaze’d him into Vhagar from Aemond’s blind side and even then Vhagar essentially tore Caraxes in half. It’s obvious in a normal situation where Daemon wasn’t suicidal Vhagar and Aemond would’ve probably came on top, hell that’s the reason why he was originally hunting Vhagar with Nettles on Sheepstealer.

When I read Fire and Blood I really liked Vermithor and during House of the Dragon I always wanted to see him. I'm glad they showed him in the last episode. If I was born a Targaryen in House of the Dragon I would choose the Bronze Fury.
Me too, i’d choose him or Meleys
@@sentientmustache8360 Nice My 2nd choice would probably be Caraxes, Vhagar is cool but the Girl is too Old. Dragons that just reached the 100s means they're in there prime but over 150 then they're to old in my book.
It’d be Caraxes or Sunfyre for me.
Balerion is gigantic lol. Hope we’ll get to see him one day
There are so many angles we can see Martins universe from.

Sunfyre had three.Balerion is the most powerful dragon in the history of Westeros, but sunfyre has the most impressive story imo.
lmao sunfyre one of the weakest trash dragon
@@hereiam8 bad trolling
@@ilbb7055 yeah
It is not about the size or experience of the dragon but it was the bond with the rider. Sunfyre the golden represented everything majestic about a dragon. burned and battered still flew to Dragonstone for Aegon, survived Meyls, flew with a half healed wing, fought and killed Grey Ghost, killed Moon Dancer, and delivered the killing blow to Rhaenyra
Do not say that he survived Meleys as if he matched her, he survived meleys because vhagar saved his ass.
spoilers bruh wtf
Yet Sunfye would get his ass whooped by Caraxes, Vhagar, Balarion, Meleys and others. Daemon seems to have the strongest bond of all dragon riders since he can give orders non verbally
Putting Vermithor above Vhagar is an interesting choice
Vhagar > vermithor for sure tbh also confirmed by George
Seasmoke is my favorite. Not too massive. Beautiful and strong
People are all of a sudden feeling the need to diss Vhagar even though her track record is far more impressive than just about any other Dragon. She tore Caraxes apart and would've taken out Meleys with or without Sunfyre there as well. She's big and old but she's not incapable.
Caraxes killed her lol ripped her throat apart and meleys would have stomped her if it wasn’t for sunfyre

Lmao Meleys wouldn't have stomped.
This is the best list for power I’ve ever seen..It is honest and objective
Silverwing should at least be on this list... she's the third largest dragon in the war, yes she is calm and friendly but I'm sure she'd dismantle smaller dragons listed here if she were to fight, other than that, good list, you're the most reliable unbiased channel who does these lists
Meleys could've easily outmanoeuver Vhagar in a 1V1, Arrax nearly did it
Meleys would absolutely be a match for Vhagar I think, if there wasn't the storm to contend with, Arrax would be able to outpace Vhagar, and Meleys is both far bigger than Arrax and nimbler than Vhagar, plus Rhaenys was a more experienced dragon rider, she'd easily have the fight if she weren't doubled up on.
Wasn't it said in the books that Meleys could've defeated Vhagar if it wasn't for Sunfyre joining the fight?
@@outbobthelaw2248 it never really said defeated but she could go toe to toe with her it’s easy it forget that meleys is a huge dragon but she’s fast aswell
Meleys was a match for Vhagar. Princess Rhaenys is also way more experienced than Prince Aemond as a rider.
@@elliotthartup4095
Easily? Meleys wouldn't have survived Vhagar
Meraxes - Am I a joke to you?
Seeing the skull of Balerion I initially doubted if he could actually swallow a mammoth. Then I saw a video of how a Komodo dragon swallows its prey. The back of the jaw widens, similar to a snake, and the whole throat can expand. They can swallow things you wouldn't expect them to, easily. Interestingly, the word "dragon" comes from the Greek "drakon", meaning "serpent" or "snake".
I had hoped that you were putting Cannibal in no. 1 spot for a second there since Balerion is not in HOTD.. (i mean.. who counts the skull?)
Vermithor the Bronze fury is my favorite. His history is so cool. If he was mounted by Daemon, he could have been a menace.
Caraxes is perfect for Daemon. They are the most in sync and he matches Daemon's bloodlust
I just saw Sunfyre design for me. Syrax, Meleys and Caraxes designs are my fav.
I'm still trying to figure out how's danys dragons especially drogon got so big that fast, like drogon is only 8 but is in the same size category as dragons like caraxes and meleys who are in there 50s/60s and 70s, so what's up there they are way bigger then they should be for their age,
my theory is that the Lord of light knew that the white walker invasion wasn't far away and was basically like "WE NEED DRAGONS AND WE NEED EM BIG NOW"
Well in the show Drogon is way larger than in the books.
But I could be wrong I’m just taking a Scientific stand in this.
Vaghar would win against vermithor I believe
Because of being slightly bigger?
@@22s22a first of all it’s not juste slightly bigger, they are more then 20 years Appart if I remember well and 20 years, dragon wise, is a lot.
Also, although vermithor has seen a lot of battles during the reign of the old king it is no where close to what Vaghar has seen or fought.
Lastly, it is said that dragons inherit their riders spirit. Taken that into account, should I remember you who was Vaghar longest rider? Visenya Targaryen, literally the most baddass Targaryen female there is.
@@22s22a Vaghar is a beast, a queen. Her fire is described as able to melt stone. Only balerion the black dread was able of such a thing.

The Cannibal is said to be the biggest and most Powerful of all Dragons.
That is only said by redditors and youtube commenters. There is like 3 lines of dialogue about cannibal, and none of them are about his size, strenght or age.
Said by idiots. The books never say he was the biggest and most Powerful of all Dragons.
So Caraxes is more powerful and should be in 3rd position... even if Caraxes dies soon after... he still managed to kill a dragon twice his size. right?
Vermithor top 4 besides Caraxes, and I’d change rhaegal to DreamFyre
@Vuk Car Caraxes is in the book by far the most experienced dragon in battle and the most agressive. He killed Vhagar before he died

Why would you have included Syrax as number 8 but then not include her at all?
If i be in the HOTD.I will make connection with cannibal 🔥
Good video
I hope these dragonfights won't be offscreen ala Blackfish Tully style.
Is there spoilers from the book? I don't want to get spoiled
The thing with Vermithor is that we won't really see him at his best. There's a helluva difference between a cultivated team with a Targaryen that's been trained since birth alongside them and... Some random blacksmith

I personally think that seasmoke should have been higher. vermithor was three times his size and he was also up against tessarion and Silverwing.
They should have made a show about the story of aegon the conq.. from the beginning to him becoming the king of the seven kingdoms.
Silver wing...
I love his look, his black & red colouring and I’d love to see how big he is when he reaches the age of 100yrs old
Why isnt Cannibal in the list? he killed the most dragons of all, he was literally a Dragon birth control system.
Rhaegal did not almost lose to Undead Viserion lmao. Rhaegal had his jaws around Viserion’s neck before Drogon intervened.
I don't think Balerion was the largest in the universe of asoiaf as the highest dragon lords from Valyria must have had far larger dragons
Meraxes must have been stronger than Rhaegal and Viserion at least
Are we talking tamed dragons or dragons in general? Because if so, the Cannibal should be in the top five.
All of them so beautiful and powerful, yet all of them would get clapped in a fight against ancalagon
all the dragons of daenerys were smaller, its quite possible arrax was even bigger than drogon but got enlarge them for the show
This whole countdown is way off. You put Drogon at number 7. Also you put seasmoke on the count down but not silverwing or the cannibal. Also you need to do more research or watch the show alittle more before making videos. So that you can make sure you have your facts straight
how many dragons in all the season
Didn't cyrax which is Damon's dragon fight vagar? It's one of the main battles of hod Damon leaps from cyrax and skewers amond after cyrxs guts get raked out by vagar. I've not read any of the books and they will change the story for the show but they stuck to the basic timeline so far with vagar and arrax now meleys fighting sunfire and vagar.
I would put caraxes over any other dragon in the show just because he was big long aggressive and the most battle savvy unlike any other dragon...verthimor could be closer and maybe meleys ...plus caraxes had the most skilled and experienced dragon rider in westeros....and remember by the time the dance of the dragon is at its peak caraxes is half the size of vhagar...put all that on one dragon and you get a beast for sure 💯
caraxes above vhagar?
@@syntheovaldy5173 Yes bc Caraxes is stronger
Meraxes was bigger than Vhagar when it was killed in Dorne
what about the Cannibal?
I love caraxes
Where are the syrax
Caraxes is interesting it looks weird
didnt vermitor onl kill one dragon. sea smoke. and sea smoke practically killed vermithor too
Yes he did kill sea smoke and greatly wounded Tesserion to the point the dragon couldn’t fly and was suffering from his would so bad that a experience black wood archer shot 3 arrow’s into his eye so he wouldn’t have to suffer anymore
what about the cannibal???
How can you put Vhagar above Caraxes? That's factually incorrect
How? It's a well know fact caraxes beat vhagar. Idk what "facts" your thinking about.
Re-read what he stated. He is agreeing with what you are saying.
@@chillazaraka I'm agreeing with you. I said Caraxes is factually better than Vhagar and one of my reasoning is what you just said. Caraxes killed Vhagar and survived for more than a day afterwards.
@@sosa2mars ok but Caraxes still killed Vhagar and survived the battle. It's true Caraxes died as a result of injuries sustained from Vhagar but Vhagar died in the battle while Caraxes died 25 hours after killing Vhagar. Just like how Oberyn Msrtell is factually a better warrior than "the Mountain" "Ser" Gregor Clegane
Can yall make these types of video without spoilers ffs or at least make a disclaimer I haven’t read the book and don’t want to know what will happen
Silver wing?
you miss The cannibal who killed and eat alot of dragons and lives free even the targaryen where a afraid of that dragon
Missing the Canibal
Only Balerion could melt sand into glass!!! Lmao
You forgot cannibal
Dude, where's Cannibal????
Vhagar is absolutely more powerful than vermithor this is confirmed by George himself
Where is Merexes? N how is Caraxes not no2 wen he literally killed Vhagar.
Prime vhagar was stronger than prime caraxes
@@alejandroalba9410 wrong prime Vhagar is Vhagar from the dance due to the fact that she reached size. Caraxes who is half as big as Vhagar beat her because he’s a better fighter and because of his long neck. And if you’re claiming that prime Vhagar was when she was younger you also have to make the same with Caraxes who would also grow much bigger and stronger.
@@alejandroalba9410 ok n wat about Merexes?
@@alejandroalba9410 caraxes didn’t reach his prime and killed vhagar. Aint no way vhagar winning against prime bloodwyrm
@@nils_5854 Vhagar is way past her prime. Didn't you see how much slower she is than other dragons? When dragons reach a certain age they get slower and weaker.
How could you put Vhagar under Vermithor??? GREM straight up said the strongest dragon in the Dance was Vhagar.
Vhagar is bigger than Vermithor, but he is faster.
What about cannabel 🤔
Dude where the fuck is silver wing and meraxes
They didn't really have proper dragon to dragon fights so their power is unknown
