D & D only chose Arya because of the possible cliche of the hero thing, not because it was right. They even claimed that they had set it up in season 3 with the whole moment with Arya and Melisandre, which most knew was bs. It was just them trying to put their favorites in front.
@@daisysw3147 The author literally made up an entire history of multiple civilizations from another world. I think we’ve surpassed the inspiration part 😂
@daisysw3147 yes War of the Roses is a big influence for GRRM and the story in general, but he took that inspiration and created an entire world around it, full of incredibly complex people, families, politics, religions, organizations, brotherhoods, magic and mythical creatures. He took inspiration from a real life historical event and built a dynamic, beautiful and intricate world around it
All I keep thinking was: Which Aegon? Considering that Rhaenyra and Daemon talked to him earlier and he met Aegon III and Viserys for the first time? What if that dream he kept talking about actually showed his grandson and he realized it, when he saw him for the first time? He was about to die. Maybe he didn't even realize, that he was talking to Alicent and not Rhaenyra.
@@franziskaways4956 this what I was questioning too. I just finished the show and my thought was like "are they not aware?" But in the last episode Otto mentioned it. So they knew that there's another Aegon. So how can Alicent assumed that it was about her lad? I think we need season 2 ASAP.
I thought Alicent didn't care about what she heard, only that Viserys died and SHE was the one who witnessed it and the queen, so she knew they'd listen to her no matter what she said, so she put her son on the throne.
It's really a shame the producers of GoT rushed the ending and basically killed all the character building that had been happening. They completely missed the ball for John, aka aegon aka the prince that was promised, with letting Arya kill the knight king
Someone got greedy. Maybe it was a new contract or the idea of a new series with the Targarians (?) As stars. I can't think of why it would have been so bad after all the season's before. There were new writers. Must have been.
@@peggyhall843 d&d were trying to rush to finish so they could start writing the batman movie at the time but the script got shot down after all the fan hate from game of thrones.....its a bitter sweet moment. I hate D&D
The scene with daemon singing and the dragon breathing fire was one of my favorite scenes! It was so badass! 🔥🔥 and I think daemons dragon makes the coolest roars!
I like Daemon's dragon the most. I like the long lanky look and how incredibly scary it looks. It would probably be one of the greatest dragons ever if it had more time to grow. Vhagar was twice as big and strong and Caraxes still took Vhagar out with him just by pure ferocity
Harrenhal was built in a region with many heart trees and many of them were cut down during construction, because these trees are sacred only to those who worship the old gods and this sacrilege is the origin of the curse. Both shows do a very poor job of dealing with the mystical side of the story, especially regarding the old gods. The curse of Harrenhal may or may not be real, it is a matter of faith for the characters.
I don't see how it gets forgotten that it was a dagger that belonged to Aegon the freaking Conqueror. That would increase its value considerably, especially as the more impressive valerian steel swords aren't hanging around.
And truly it did still all stick. the dagger says "From my blood will come the Prince That Was Promised, and his will be the Song of Ice and Fire." He is the one that truly united ice (white walkers) and fire (Daenerys stormborn) He did unite them which was what the dagger said the prince (which he was) would do
I think this could be why the prophecy was lost and not well known in GOT. Only Rhaenyra was told and she couldn’t pass it on to her heir because of the war.
@@dm3ris well he is gonna die in future, if they go by books....because danaerys was told to be the ancestor of daemon and rhaenyra, and jace wasnt daemons son.... so he dies, and so does joffery, and line continues by aegon 3 i gues...
Herrenhalls curses isn’t from Aegons conquest, it’s from it Harrenhalls construction, the blood of the slaves and others who built it is mixed into to concrete of every stone, from the point of it’s completion it was believed to be cursed
What pains me is that in the end, it was Rhaenyra's son Aegon iii who sat the throne, the dance was completely useless, the death of so many Targaryens and the end of dragons all for the same result that would've happened without it too, it's just heartbreaking.
@@tahirqazi6656egon III has a younger brother named Viserys and his older brothers are Velaryons and his older sisters are Targaryens and a stillborn younger sister Visenya . So he has 6 siblings
The Dance Of The Dragons is awesome story material. However I agree a show just about Aegon's Conquest would of been epic. Focus the first season on the Targaryen's & Velaryon's fleeing the Old Valyrian Freehold, and The Doom unfolding. Show the settling of Dragonstone & Driftmark. Probably a lot of time jumps, but let the first season end with the birth of Aegon The Conqueror.
Probably it wouldnt be too smart to do a season on the scape from Valyrian (plot wise and budget wise). There's like 7 generations between Daenys the dreamer and Aenar and Aegon the Conqueror. Maximum a flashback or a starting episode... then Right to Aegon having a dream and waking up, speaks with his sister wifes (which after having being safed by the dreams of Daenys take Aegon's dream seriously) and they all agree they have to conquer Westeros. Then, they begin the conquest. That would tied up with HoTD tv show as well.
While I agree the should've started with aegons conquest what your describing isn't that it's the Targaryen escape to westeros which would be a good prequel after the conquest
One could already see in GoT that Daenery´s didn´t have full control of her dragons... It´s nothing new... in GoT Drogon left her stranded after the riots in the middle of nowwhere and she locked them up because she couldn´t control them
And later you can see that the bond between Daenerys and Drogon became one, because Drogon can understand what Dany wants and feel, even when the show killed her.
It was believed then that knowledge was lost over the centuries and that there was specific ways to keep them in control, but I guess that was proven wrong now.
@@eddiegreencheez Stunted their growth in theory, yet their are still bigger than lots of the adult dragons in HOTD? Something isn’t adding up with Dany’s dragons
There is just so much material for spin offs👀 The Valyrian Freehold, The Age of Dawn, The Rhoynar fleeing to Westeros, The Long Night… I just got through the first chapters of The World of Ice and Fire and oml the in-universe is VAST😅
@@ferrm1992 Not true, look at the Robert, stanis, and renly, then look at bonebreaker strong, same manner of looks, face from anywhere can be linked to any northern family. The real blood is the Starks and strongs, they relate to almost every house.. the seed is strong has alot of meanings behind it. It related to house strong. Stark in german.. Translates. STRONG. Strongs are 1st men, from the north, that traveled from the north. Bonebreaker almost has his sons put on throne. They are related to many familes. Some say all, but it is clear where Martin is going with the strong family. He has included them more and more as the books go further in.
But when you trace Rhaenyra's line, all of it ended with Dany and Jon Snow, no Baratheon at all, the Baratheon ended somewhere in their relatives of Targaryens yes but that family ended just there..they may have Targaryen relative but just the spouse and the children that ended then and then
I think the dragons connection to the rider is almost like a best friend you consider a brother. He cares about you, feels how you feel, wants to protect you but at the end of the day you don't control them they ultimately decide what to do and although you usually listen to your best friend imagine being punched in the face and your friend (rider) said don't do anything back out of anger you may not listen to whatever your friends reason is.
Would be so cool to have so many series of so many different times in the GOT world! There is so much content that could be made! It could go on for years to come and be one of the greatest franchise to exist! Ughhh give us more!!
I wouldn’t mind a series about the Blackfyre Rebellions. No dragons, but lots of epic battles and political scheming. Could also show us how Brynden Rivers/Bloodraven ended up becoming the Three-Eyed Raven/Crow (I got a soft spot for Bloodraven, he’s one of my favorite characters as far the books go).
@@comfort7575 there are no narrative books that cover it, but the Knight of Seven Kingdoms (Dunk and Egg) deals with the fallout from the first Rebellion and literally occurs during the Second Blackfyre Rebellion.
The thing I called out was that earlier in that episode Daemon questioned how they were taking care of Viserys’ having him drugged out of his mind, in which Alicent said something along the lines of “we keep him on milk of the poppy to help with the pain and in doing so it causes him to ramble”. So if he was constantly drugged out and just said nonsensical things, why would him saying anything to imply Aegon should be on the Iron Throne be taking seriously? Like girl go prop ya feet up somewhere.
Also, this series made it all the more depressing that the finale of the Wight Walkers in Season 8 was so lame. There was apparently hundreds of years and a plot driving prophecy.
house celtigar and house velaryon were both in westeros before the targaryens and were from valyria. However, they were not dragon lord families so they had no dragons. But House Qoherys and Belaerys also escaped the doom. Though House Qoherys were one of the families that held harrenhal and died from the curse and belaerys had a few survivors of the doom, along with their dragon terrax. But I don't believe they are around in the song of ice and fire main series.
I know people don't really find it super interesting but I would love to see Robert's Rebellion. It's a big deal and sure no dragons but it can still be good and can probably make it 2 seasons
Me too , I thought that was a great part in the Targaryen history , the death of the Mad King Aerys by Jamie Lannister , etc.. and is this THE Christopher Florio? THE Richard Florio’s nephew? 😎😉
I too would love to see Roberts rebellion turned into a TV series. I'm even hoping that at the end of house of the dragon we get an episode telling us a story leading up to king Aerys and the start of him going mad, which could lead to a series about Roberts rebellion
Let’s not forget the dragons in the books, the wild dragons including Hannibal who is said to feed on other dragons so overall like 25 dragons more which will appear in season 2
it was also the blood magic that bonded her to the eggs. The Targaryens have a tradition of putting a dragon egg in the crib with a newborn, so Daenerys literally had 3 eggs with her. It's not always the case with dragonriders, as Leana Velaryon only gained Vhagar at 15, and Rheanyra actively looks for adult dragon riders for the old wild dragons
I would bet more dragons are alive in different places we have not heard of. There's no way such a powerful empire didn't have people scattered all over the world.
Valyria had enemies to the east who have powerful forces that would eliminate dragons, as well as weather that debilitates them. The Free Cities were established without dragonriders, so that would preclude them.
From my blood will come the Prince that was promised, and his will be the song of ice and fire….or maybe he won’t and he just kinda won’t matter much in the end.
After watching Game of Thrones, everyone thought that Rhaenyra wanted to seize the throne that originally belonged to men on a whim, but her inheriting the throne was just the result of Viserys' stubborness. She had no choice in the matter as long as Viserys said so and prepared her for it, so her defending her right was the logical thing to do after the greens stabbed her in the back. Had he named Aegon in her stead, they could have had a relationship at least a bit close to the relationship Jaehaerys had with his elder sister, Rhaena, even though at times she felt wronged by being passed over in the succession. Perhaps if Viserys named Aegon his heir, then his relationship with his older sister wouldn't have been so tense, and the greens wouldn't have conspired against her.
Fun fact: The inspiration behind "House of the Dragon" comes from an actual dynasty in real life. The dynasty was House of Drăculești and was a Romanian dynasty of Principality of Wallachia. The dynasty started with Vlad Dracul the father of more famous ruler Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Dracula, "son of the Dragon"). The family originated from House of Basarab the founders of Wallachia, in which the Principality is located in modern day Romania and currently the Capital is located in its region. The name Drăculești means Dragon as Dracul in Old Romanian language ment Dragon but now means Devil. It was generally believed that Vlad Dracul was part of the Order of the Dragon, a Christian Order ment to stop the expansion of the Ottoman Empire into Europe. But now due to a document, it mentions a certain Mihail who came to the court of Sigismund asking to become part of the order and he was Prince of Wallachia. Vlad Draculs oldest son and older brother of Vlad the Impaler whose name is Miahi was the one who founded the Dynasty of the Dragon (Drăculești). The name Drăcul-ești could be put this way, Drăcul in the sense of Dragon and ești is in Romanian and originates from Latin ēscō meaning in English "you're" which the name could be translated as "You're Dragon"
nah. it has nothing to with romanians. Dragons were mentioned by other Nations of different variety. China, Scandinavian folklore and many ohers. GRR Martin right A song of Ice and Fire for a fantasy like story of England History. Think of Night King = William Wallace, Lannistrr = Lancaster, Stark = York, Targaryens = Vikings and Dragonboats were their ship equivalent to their mount. First men = Gauls, Children of the Forest were Celts. Dragons was also the emblem of Wales, did u know? Even Bhutan and Malta. Nevertheless, Dragons were only a personification of feared Race and Greed for Gold like the Vikings
So it just confirms that it should have been Jon Snow (Aegon) to have face off with the Night King and kill him. He was the prince who was promised. Damn season 8 really f’ed up
@@awarabhopali it’s just years and season after season displaying that Jon and the NK were destined to face off against one another. Now that HOD confirms that cats paw dagger was passed down from heir to heir, it was meant for Jon (Aegon) to own it really.
I really thought it would be Arya would be the one to kill Daenerys, because I truly dont believe Jon would ever be able to do that himself. And we were all cheated by not getting the showdown between Jon and the Night King. Hopefully the Jon Snow series is able to correct that somehow.
not it doesn't confirm any such thing . you are assuming prophecy is correct. in fact all indications in books and show, points to prophecy as misleading, and was intentionally created to destroy targs and their dragons.
Can I just point out the stellar performance the actor of Joffrey (Jack Gleeson). There were times I forgot he was acting I hated him so much, played a spectacular villain character, and will probably go down as one of the “best” in terms of sheer hatred.
Dont forget House Celtigar were also a family and house of old Valyria and a vassal house of the Targaryans in Westeros residing at Claw Isle. Rumor has it thst House Celtigar are in possession of a Valaryian steel double headed axe .Sweet
To see Arrax’s little self hit Vhagar with the flame in his face and then try to fly away, pretty much sealed their fates right there. Vhagar couldn’t be controlled and was done playing games at that point 😂😂
David lightbringer has an amazing series about the doom of Valeria and what happened to the Targaryens during and afterwards that would make for a great show. I hope they continue making more on screen stories from this interesting world GRRM has created.
there were early discussions of an anthology but HBO scrapped that out as it will panned the fans like the walking dead did to their franchise (3-4 series concurrently airing at one point making over saturation to viewers). maybe we will get one at a time but not all at once.
Eh, I feel like that would be really boring. It’s basically Aegon and his sister-wives show in Westeros and wreck everyone with their dragons. The only interesting thing that actually happened was Rhaenys and her dragon getting shot down in Dorne. Besides that, it’s a really straightforward and kind of boring story.
@@Garrus1995 well a history about Valeria is lit for me firewyrns wyerns, how and who made dragons, dragons bigger than balerion as you know before the doom the sky was ruled by 300+ dragons and aegon's family was a mid size lord family
The Targaryens and Velaryons weren’t actually the only houses to survive. There was a third. House Celtigar was also from Old Valyria, although they were not highborn. The Celtigars were no more than peasants in Valyria, but when they fled to Westeros they landed on Claw Isle and became lords. Unlike the Velaryons, they never married members of House Targaryen, but they were commonly given seats on the Small Council, usually as Master of Coin. They also have a Valyrian steel axe.
Harrenhal isn't necessarily cursed. It's just a castle that's far too large to be supported by the meager lands it controls. Harren the Black took tributes from the Iron Islands and the Riverlands. Immediately after the conquest, Harrenhal's lands were greatly diminished, making it comparable in tributes to Riverrun. During Maegor's reign, he diminished the lands further, giving parts of those lands to other lords loyal to him.
I think one other thing was answered. Whether Tyrion is a Targeryan or not. They made an emphasis on birth complications when it comes to their kids and mixed with the hints given in game of thrones I felt that is probably true now and hope that comes into play in new Jon Snow spin off.
Tyrions mom which was tywin lanisters wife got raped by the mad king. So that makes tyrion half targarion and half whatever his mom was before the marriage.
The song of ice and fire is the story of Jons birth being born from the Houses of Ice (Stark) and Fire (Targaryen) he is the Prince of prophecy that the Targaryens sang in secrecy for centuries, also his own father Rhaegar had a beautiful voice and ultimately thats how he swooned Lyanna Stark
Well show wise he is but GrrM quite literally said “the stuff going on at the wall is (ice) and dany and her dragons are (fire)”. I believe Daenerys was the original asoiaf/ Azor Ahai but D&D messed it up.
I think rhey are pretty much dead. But what could happen is that there is more creatures like ice spiders and ice dragons etc hidden away in the lands of always winter and Jon could be exploring that
Just because Larys ordered their deaths it doesn’t mean harrenhal is not cursed. I always took it to mean that whoever held the seat would befall a terrible fate. You see this with Lord Strong, Larys, Janos slynt, Littlefinger etc
I think Viserys’ death has to do with the way Aerea Targeryan died. I think something or disease that was affecting Balerion that rubbed off on them hence the similar(to some extent) deaths.
No it was explained what happened to aerea it wasn’t from balerion it was their journey to old Valeria where there are unspoken horrors there one of which she got (fire parasites)
Viserys died from a from of leprosy, according to his actor. Aerea Targaryen died of a horrible disease that seemed to resemble greyscale, the green fever and skin cancer. Balerion was heavily wounded from the flight by unknown forces. Anything that could wound the Black Dread is frightening enough.
I feel like the whole dagger thing would have tied in perfectly with Bran becoming the Night King. Why else would the assassin sent to kill Bran have the dagger that killed the Night King?
Have you ever wonder why the three eyed raven trap in the North? Bcoz 3 Eyed Raven is probably the only one who knows to dispel the Curse after the War of the First Men. Theres must be something amiss between their contract. So 3eyed raven, always find a way for escape through Hodor, Madking, and many others. The Night King was the weapon of the Children of the Forest to reclaim their homeland from the First Men
I’ve been rewatching GoT for the first time in a while and I had totally forgot about the MASSIVE spoiler Joffrey says in season 3 about what happens in HotD…I was so pissed!!! 😂 I mean I would have found out eventually because I have Fire and Blood but now the show AND the book have been slightly spoiled. I am excited to see how it all u folds though….
GOT is better then House of the Dragon in my opinion think it's mainly due to the characters and different locations used in the series. And the writing is a bit better not to say HOD isn't any good just a bigger fan of GOT I just finished watching it for the 4th time lol
@@superunknown2812 that's not really a fair comparison to make at this point in time. Game of thrones has 8 seasons of content to assess whereas house of the dragon has only one. Instead you should compare the first season of each series - in which house of the dragon really gives GOT a run for its money. While i wouldn't say its better than S1 of game of thrones, it comes extremely close, and is much better the the shit show that is season 6, 7, and 8 of GOT. The writing in HOTD is amazing and each character is very well written (just as GOT 1-4 was). If HOTD keeps this standard up through its whole duration it will be a really good comparison to make between the two shows.
@@deedstaar7520 Not at all... I generally dont see what they couldve done better in season 1 - which is why I said if they keep up the quality in the seasons coming, it can definitely reach he highs of GOT
As a book reader I still have two big questions. One is why do the seasons last so long and my second one is not what happened at Summerhall but why did it happen? We know it burnt down because of Egg and dragon eggs but how were they trying to hatch dragons and how did it get out of control?
Egg apparently tried to use wildfire and Essosi magic, but as with all things fire related it went out of control. The seasons seem to reflect a planet that has a slow orbit, with calendars determined by artificial rather than natural measures. People have regular namedays despite the seasons.
The *Greens* have *6* Dragons ( *_Dreamfyre, Vhagar, Sunfyre, Tessarion, Morghul and Shrykos_* ) not 4 and the *Blacks* have 9, now *8* dragons ( *_Caraxes, Syrax, Meleys, Vermax, Tyraxes, Moondancer, Morning (a baby) and Stormcloud (baby) // Arrax but is dead_* ). From these, ready to fight, the Greens have 4 and the Blacks 5 or 6. The unclaimed ones and wild ones do not count yet as being on Rhaenyra's side ( _Vermithor, Silverwing, Seasmoke; Sheepstealer, Grey Ghost, Cannibal_ ) since they have no rider and the riders can choose which side they want to be on.....
The answer to #9 was strictly scripted for the two TV shows (GoT and HotD) to tie into one another. "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "Fire and Blood" as well as Martin's newest publication; "The Rise of the Dragon," do not state Aegons conquest came about because of the impending threat of the white walkers. In fact, the night King doesn't even exist in AsoIaF yet, he may never for all we know. George has also spoke recently about how the ending of GoT will be different than the novels as he has made some creative decisions writing the last two novels that steer away from how the TV series concluded. While I do think it was a clever way to validate each of the shows within the GoT world, I want people to understand that it does differ from the original source material.
Nothing will ever beat the cast and dynamics or the original GoT series....seeing The Hound at the beginning of this video reminded me of that hard truth. Still, HoTD was great. Hopefully the Jon Snow spinoff series gets made.
'Arya killing the Wight King' is by having a Targaryen or a half-Targaryen marrying into House Stark and passing the bloodline. Otherwise, based on the prophecy, it should have been Jon Snow to deal the final blow.
Prophecies aren't always 100% correct. As an example, during Viserys and Aemma's dialogue he told her he saw their son ascending the Iron Throne. Aegon's prophecy also does not specifically say that it will be the Prince of his blood that will kill the NK, it says the Prince will unite the realm and lead the fight. Jon somewhat accomplished both to some degree.
@@cyber2cyke agree, except jon didn't actually united the westeros, only northern kingdom and queen dany (with one baratheon, and 2 lannisters). That was like 4/8 of the regions.
@@cypr7120 Hence the words somewhat and to some degree. He was able to get a (very) temporary truce which again backs what I said that prophecies aren't 100%.
What if the king of the Whight walkers isn't dead and is again shown in the Jon snow series and it turns out to be someone from House of the dragons. What if there wasn't only one night king.
Just give a thought to my words Brian and arya were Bastards from blood raven bcz lady stark was fed of jon's existence and cheated on ned as a revenge. Now we know how arya was ahai and brian became next raven
One member of House Kipagon survived as well. Aurion Kipagon was in Quohor I believe (or maybe that’s just where he raised his army to reclaim Valyria) when he heard of it. He left for Valyria with this army never to be seen again. But it’s believed his dragon survived, and is the reason that Baelerion came back injured when visiting Valyria with Aerea Targeryan.
House Celtigar is the third Valyrian Houses to have escaped the Doom. They're sort of the poor cousin compared to the Targaryens and Velaryons, but they kept faith with Rhaenyra.
I agree but I Think that was more for the fans of the show who are just that and dont read the books etc. and gave them a way to “connect” GoT to this. Either way I can’t wait for season 2
Here are my questions for you that are still unanswered. Answer if you can: 1. Who were faceless men: humans, gods, murderers, sorcerers or something else? 2. Why Jaqen Hghar helped Arya in Harrenhal. 3. Who was Quaithe and what was her purpose? 4. Who was Kinvara and what was her purpose? 5. Why white walkers murder people and put the bodies in an specific spiral shape that looks like Targaryen sigil or the gods wood? 6. What did Bran become after downloading all the information from three eyed raven and who infact was the three eyed raven and what role did he play in the history of weteros? 7. How exactly the Doom of Valyria happened and what triggered it? 8. How people of Valyria first came into contact of the dragons? 9. Out of all the gods that were worshipped by different people all over westeros and essos which one is real : like God of fire, the drowned god, the old gods, the seven gods or if no god exists in that world? 10. How Thoros of Myr used to make Berric alive each time after his death?
So, as I´m not in the matter entirely I´m not sure how precise my answers are going to be, but I´ll give it a try. If you're really interested, there are also yt videos to most of these questions. 1. the faceless men are seemingly simply assassins who worship death, and therefore believe that only life can pay for death? 2. Arya saved Jaqen Hghar earlier in the show and 2 other prisoners, so for saving these three lives, he offered to take 3 others. 4. If I recall correctly, Kinvara was simply one of the priestesses sent out to preach of the lord of light. 8. The Valyrians were known to mix species, resulting in hybrid forms, using blood magic, which is supposedly similar to today's genetic engineering. In order to create dragons, they mixed the naturally occurring wythers and wyrms (not sure if those two are spelled correctly), using said blood magic. They then proceeded to bind the valerian houses to the dragons using blood magic, resulting in them actually having dragon blood. This is also the reason why the Targaryans try to keep their bloodline as "pure" as possible, as intermarriage with non-valerian houses would "dilute" their blood, and weaken their bond to the dragons. 9. I don't think that the situation with the gods is ever entirely explained, but each of the ancient "races" has a connection to a certain type of magic, which they, later on, refer to as their gods. The Targaryans have their fire magic, and the lord of light, the north, descending from the first men have their animal possession and the old gods etc.
@@Genastor your reply to point no 8 is somewhat correct and reply to point no 9 is 30% correct. For rest you know nothing. Nobody does. GRRM himself has not given any answers to these burning questions yet and I want them in upcoming books. The show was perfect in each aspect except that they also failed to give reply to these questions and not their fault too as they had no clue about them since everything came out of mind of GRRM and at a certain stage the show crossed the books. Also let me be clear no TH-cam video is there to explain first few questions.
I always figured the Dragons and their rider like a really bonded horse to their rider. Sure you have a close bond, even sense one another, but ultimately the horse is charge and will do whatever the hell it wants if it feels like it or gets scared or angry. Seeing the Dragons like that, just confirms it and makes it more realistic imho.
I can't wait to hear everyone complain about Rhaenyra's fate in House of the Dragon, when Game of Thrones has already told us what happened to her years ago. Unless, of course, they change it from the book or GOT.
It would be a bad decision to change the story. The ending of game of thrones is proof of that. They showed that jon or Dany can be the prince that was promised, on several occasions they hyped a sword fight between night king and Jon just to end with Arya jumping out of nowhere and killing the night king.
An epic duel between John and night-king was the major missing part of GOT. The build up of sequel & evolution of the characters was that perfect be since the start of show
What did the white walkers do with the babies once they turned? They never went into detail about it on game of thrones. Did they grow up to be adult walkers? Did they eat them? What were their purposes? Seems a strategic error to keep babies around that can’t fend for themselves. I need answers!
I always underestimated what role genetics played in both shows and how the concept of race was integrated. In both shows, it is strongly implied that if a dominant trait is present/or not present, then the legitimacy of that person's parentage is called into question. Cersei's children, like their mother (and father), all have blonde hair and blue eyes, the House Baratheon though is said to have a dominant trait of black hair and brown eyes. Similarly, House Targaryen has the dominant trait of smooth silverish-white hair and fair skin, but both of Rhaenyra's first two sons had black/brown hair and fair skin (indicating their real father's dominant trait was brown hair). Considering that Rhaenyra's first husband was of House Valyrian, whose dominant trait was white-afro hair and dark skin, it made it fairly obvious that race is a factor in genetics in the fictional world of Westeros. Similarly, The Starks' dominant trait is also black/brown hair, which explains why Jon Snow's hair is black even though he is a Targaryen by birth. This shows us the Targaryen's silver/white hair is actually a recessive gene (ie in terms of hair colour, 2 blondes make a blonde, but 1 blonde and 1 brunette makes a brunette).
... WatchMojo acting like most A Song of Ice and Fire fans didn't know that Celtigar and Velaryon escaped the Doom too. That was never an unanswered question.
True but not the GOT series fans who just watched the show and never explored the lore. I have a few friends like that whose knowledge of that universe comes strictly from the GOT series.

Now can you all see that Daenerys can be the princess that was promised, Viserys said it and the prophecy too besides Jon Snow is not a Targaryen in the books.
@@princenirmal4197 no, Viserys was talking about the vision Aegon I have had when he was alive not about Jon Snow, you people don’t put attention and he said to Rhaenyra that she’s the one that had to seat in the iron throne in case the walkers attacks and that means that a woman can be the prince or Princess that was promised also Jon Snow till the 5 book is not mention that he is a Targaryen.
@@princenirmal4197 the show does not follow the event that happens in the books and after season 5 everything is invented by the two people who ruined GOT and like I said before, the prophecy clearly said that can be a woman too.
Well yes the show often doesn't follow the books or change things but it was confirmed years ago that GRRM asked the showrunners who the thought Jon's parents were and they apparently gave the right answer or they wouldn't have gotten the rights to the show. So that particular aspect is confirmed to be true
Rhaenyra mirrors the real life Matilda of England, who was heir but out of country when she succeeded so her nephew took the throne from her instead and started a civil war. No dragons tho
Ngl 8 wish they would show all 21 dragons but unfortunately dragons like Shrykos, Morghul, Grey Ghost and Morning may never be shown due to the fact that they don’t play a major role
This highlights one of the biggest issues I have with HoD, I already know who dies, who lives, who kills who, which dragons will die and when and to who. I mean it is still entertaining but what is really the point
I think its also because both Aemond and luc was unexperienced with dragon riding and probably didn’t even know about not fully controlling the dragon. Aemond doesn’t even have control over himself lol

After hearing more about the prophecy and the dagger the more I realize john should have killed the knight king not arya
D & D only chose Arya because of the possible cliche of the hero thing, not because it was right. They even claimed that they had set it up in season 3 with the whole moment with Arya and Melisandre, which most knew was bs. It was just them trying to put their favorites in front.
They failed us
Don't like to talk about season 8, it's to painful
Jon should have killed the night king and Arya should have killed Cersei in revenge for Ned… would have been much more satisfying

GoT famously adapted from War of the Roses.

I agree. To put together all these different families and different people with so many different paths into one story is just fantastic
He took inspiration from a real life historical event and built a dynamic, beautiful and intricate world around it
I think it's less of a misunderstanding and more that Alicent heard what she wanted to hear.
the king didn’t know he was talking to alicent
That part annoys me so much and yes Alicent heard what she wanted to hear . Obviously her son doesn’t dream of anything other jerking off
All I keep thinking was: Which Aegon?

The dagger must have been taken as a spoil of war after Robert's Rebellion. Then it somehow made it's way into Baelish's hands.
Baelish won it in a game of cards from Robert.
I don't see how it gets forgotten that it was a dagger that belonged to Aegon the freaking Conqueror. That would increase its value considerably, especially as the more impressive valerian steel swords aren't hanging around.

Herrenhalls curses isn’t from Aegons conquest, it’s from it Harrenhalls construction, the blood of the slaves and others who built it is mixed into to concrete of every stone, from the point of it’s completion it was believed to be cursed
It’s proximity to the Isle of Faces has lead to some theories that the land itself was cursed long before Harrenhall was even constructed.
What pains me is that in the end, it was Rhaenyra's son Aegon iii who sat the throne, the dance was completely useless, the death of so many Targaryens and the end of dragons all for the same result that would've happened without it too, it's just heartbreaking.

Plus there isn’t a lot of material to draw on to make a show about that escape from the Doom
And locking them up stunted their growth and development. A dragon is not a slave, nor should they be a prisoner
She locked the other 2 up because they burned a child alive
It was believed then that knowledge was lost over the centuries and that there was specific ways to keep them in control, but I guess that was proven wrong now.
@@eddiegreencheez Stunted their growth in theory, yet their are still bigger than lots of the adult dragons in HOTD? Something isn’t adding up with Dany’s dragons

house celtigar and house velaryon were both in westeros before the targaryens and were from valyria. However, they were not dragon lord families so they had no dragons. I think the fact the dragons were born with her she had a better connection
it was also the blood magic that bonded her to the eggs.
Yes, they think they're her babies. It's a different bond as any pet owner knows.

What if that dream he kept talking about actually showed his grandson and he realized it, when he saw him for the first time? He was about to die.
Damn season 8 really f’ed up

hard to move and sit on...
Aegon's conquest and Doom of Valyria, those two things I would like to see on screen. Even if they only make a cartoon about it.
Tyrion was not only born a dwarf but with different colored eyes and hair with deformed genitals.

Now I really want to see a series showing us The Age of Heroes
I feel like the whole dagger thing would have tied in perfectly with Bran becoming the Night King.
Why else would the assassin sent to kill Bran have the dagger that killed the Night King?
CORRECT!!! 💯💯
@Marcus Lee fair enough yes just wondering what the plan is to take it so far in terms of storylines
@@marcuslee698 it’s not close bro, sorry but recency bias is clouding you.
@@SantomPh thank you George Martin for answering my questions. Now I don't have to read your books.
Seasons of TV used to be in the 20s lol.
all that for arya to jump out of nowhere and danerys to go bat shit crazy 💀💀
I'd like to see a series about the origins of the children of the forest
Turns out Harrenhal is cursed.
House Velarion and house Celtigar are both from Valyria as well. With the difference that they survive after Robert rebellion
Hope we will see The Mad King saga someday.
BURN THEM ALL!!!!
@@mvader7188 I actually wonder after watching HoD... maybe Mad King last words was reffering to the white walkers ?
@@paulstokowski1466 which one are you referring to since in the books he never says burn them all
Nothing will ever beat the cast and dynamics or the original GoT series....seeing The Hound at the beginning of this video reminded me of that hard truth.
Just give a thought to my words
Brian and arya were Bastards from blood raven bcz lady stark was fed of jon's existence and cheated on ned as a revenge. Now we know how arya was ahai and brian became next raven
Technically a Targaryen did unite the divided groups of men to defeat the others.
Shireen: "Vhagar was the smallest"
Arrax: 😐
Smallest of aegon's dragons
@@awarabhopali Of course but in Arrax's time that was far from the truth.
House Celtigar is the third Valyrian Houses to have escaped the Doom. They're sort of the poor cousin compared to the Targaryens and Velaryons, but they kept faith with Rhaenyra.
Making Aegon and the dagger connected to "the long night" was a horrible decision
I agree but I Think that was more for the fans of the show who are just that and dont read the books etc. and gave them a way to “connect” GoT to this.
Either way I can’t wait for season 2
I love this! Definitely didn't notice the facts about the knife, Wow
Here are my questions for you that are still unanswered. Answer if you can:
@@tarunshukla00 we got some insight into Kinvara in the show, and many of the other questions were discussed in previous books
@@Genastor Discussed but not answered.
Aren't all the gods real?
My guy literally specified she was only referring to the TV shows and not the books.
True but not the GOT series fans who just watched the show and never explored the lore. I have a few friends like that whose knowledge of that universe comes strictly from the GOT series.
How many people watching the show do you think have read the books?
Aegons conquest would be a great show but honestly I want a show centered around Robert's rebellion and the years before the Trident
The dragons are bonded to the rider in battle the riders are tense scared & angered. They are protecting the rider. The riders where also panicked and not speaking valerian commands
Now can you all see that Daenerys can be the princess that was promised, Viserys said it and the prophecy too besides Jon Snow is not a Targaryen in the books.
Then why Aegon specified the gender in his prophecy "Prince - male"
@@princenirmal4197 no, Viserys was talking about the vision Aegon I have had when he was alive not about Jon Snow, you people don’t put attention and he said to Rhaenyra that she’s the one that had to seat in the iron throne in case the walkers attacks and that means that a woman can be the prince or Princess that was promised also Jon Snow till the 5 book is not mention that he is a Targaryen.
@@MrDavidSosa Actually i think Jon was revived for the sole reason...and also the showrunners confirmed it that he was the prince who was promised
Daenerys couldn't controll her dragons too, she put two of them in chains and Drogon take her from the fighting peats and didn't bring her back
the dragons were starting to kill children and random people to feed, so the people of Meereen demanded she chain them.
@@SantomPh I just said she couldn't control them, I didn't criticize her for chaining them
Laena's comment about how all eggs do not hatch was a sad foreshadowing about her own pregnancy.
I think its also because both Aemond and luc was unexperienced with dragon riding and probably didn’t even know about not fully controlling the dragon. Aemond doesn’t even have control over himself lol
