As a HUGE fan of outlast and other survival horror games, this is by far my favorite. The atmosphere, sound design, and general feel of this game was AMAZING. You DID NOT run you DID NOT fight. You went into every single life as of it was your last and it's one of a kind. Genuinely I can not think of a game/movie on such a atmospheric tone.
Not only it suceeds in any area, but this game is also the only “movie to game” that actually captures the exact vibe of the movie and also adds to it without detatching itself a single time, and with it being horror I think thats an extra hard theme to pull off.
This game had a better story than many alien movies. My favorite horror game of all time. The sounds, the incredible voice actors, the tension that was build. What a masterpiece.
I always thought it was crazy when I heard CA was making a survival horror based on the Alien franchise. But those guys/gals knocked it out of the park. I’m hype for Warhammer 3!
Sometimes it's best to leave the perfect organism alone. Though recently I've listened to three amazing aliens audio books. "Alien out of the shadows" "aliens river of pain" and a aliens 3 book based off of a script never used and in my eyes is cannon
No - but it left it's mark so severely that the new Alien game references Sevastapol and the events of the, now canon, Alien Isolation - some of it's enemies are basically Working Joes ... [the game itself looks like a mutliplayer attempt to put Colonial Marines right - set in the Alien Isolation universe, from what I've seen] For me - Alien Isolation is up there ... my favourite continuous story: Alien > Alien Isolation > Aliens
I would hold my breath playing this game, it was so good! The first long stretch with the Xenomorph after you find the flight recorder was one of the most tense gaming moments I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I've also never seen a more stressful saving mechanic in any game.
I love, love, love this game. Not just because the original Alien is my favorite movie ever made, but because, as someone who has consumed horror games their entire life, this one is by far among the scariest and succeeds in making me tense every time I play it. As much a horror masterpiece as the movie it's based on.
The very very best Alien game. The best movie license game and the best horror game all in one package. Also getting the cast back together for Crew Expandable DLC was mind blowing dedication.

Bought this game on 3 different systems. That's how much I love Alien Isolation. It's a gem right next or maybe even placed above Dead Space imo. Wish CA would develop a sequel.
Alien is my favorite movie franchise of all time, and this is the only game I absolutely adore and consider in the same podium as the first 2 movies. They nailed EVERYTHING that can be nailed in a survival horror game.
I believe members of this team are currently working on a Jurassic Park/DinoCrisis style game using the Alien AI called Deathgrounds. (May be one of the other upcoming Dinocrisis spiritual successors)
Great video on a great game! Alien Isolation proves how trends play a very pivotal role in entertainment even if creators don't want to admit it. The trend in this case being most survival horror were in third person at the time, but Alien Isolation decided to buck that trend, and here we are, almost a decade later and now first person horror (RE; Amnesia) is all the rage again. Ironic, and I'm sure we'll swing back to third person as the '20s go on. Keep up the great work!
36 and just found this superb channel. Isolation was phenomenal (tad long with some niggles) and I’m re-downloading it now. It need a remaster with some tweaks adding in. Would be interesting to have an armed and dangerous mode for players who complete the core experience
It surprises me that people still talk about/play this game to this day. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I’m glad to see that this game still gets recognized being that it’s so underrated/Alien is so underrated!!
Alien: Isolation is one of the best PC games I've ever played (and I've been a PC gamer for over 25 years), and I've played it through 6 times. I'm really glad they didn't make it a 3rd person game, because if they had, I never would have even bought it.
We need a sequel for this masterpiece. Truly a genre-defining game! Even RE:7 borrowed some of its mechanics with the way Jack Baker chased you around the house.
Incredibly well made video. It’s very informative and I love the footage and pictures of the game’s development and exclusive concept art. I’ve beat the game on hard mode first try over two years ago and I still play it today because it’s a super beautiful game.
'Aliens' is my all time fave movie ever ,A Huge influence on me as a young artist and I gotta say this game is pure uncut 'Alien' feels 100% part of that artwork on every level....A bona fide masterpiece game that's up there with Doom,Ocrina of time,Goldeneye,MGS.Halo,Bioshock,GTA/S.A ect.. Where you cherish the memory of that experiance...
I love the videos when it’s mainly about aliens, not sure why but this channel talking about aliens feels right. I still hope someday we’ll get the Aliens Crucible video back.
One of the best games ever made! I just wished there'd be an option which would mix things up, like: -unpredictable Android routines (Working Joes investigate all accessible areas, all nearby terminals, cover longer distances, search near phone booths if they lost the player, fixing and guarding routines because they are security and maintenance bots) -Smarter human AI -more NPCs on higher difficulties -Heavy Joes arriving like the light version per Transit or elevator if you linger too long -Joes being able to rip you out of vents if you are close enough Small tweaks like that would keep it a lot more interesting, but if you finished the game 7 times on all difficulties, you just kinda know how to avoid most hostile creatures and robots
I've never considered Alien Isolation gameplay videos mere "gameplay videos." To me, they're more like a director's cut to a successor of the original "Alien" film. After seeing the game being played, I can confidently say that there's no way in hell I could ever finish it. So to those who did, you have my complete and total respect. A tip of the hat (or in this case, the astronaut helmet) to you!
I find it interesting how I just found out today that a prototype for alien isolation was supposed to be another 3rd person horror game that played similar to what we have now, except of course there were changes
I love this game and it gave me Terrors while playing it, a feeling i only received when I first saw the movie back in the early 80s. I did find it laughable when IGN panned the game simply because the AI of the creature was ‘too unpredictable’ for the player to just skip and run across the missions, Seriously, those people have pretty low standards.
Hey everyone, friendly reminder that Alien Isolation is free on Epic Games right now if you'd like to try the harrowing journey yourself! :)

[the game itself looks like a mutliplayer attempt to put Colonial Marines right - set in the Alien Isolation universe, from what I've seen]
For me - Alien Isolation is up there ... my favourite continuous story:
Alien > Alien Isolation > Aliens
I would hold my breath playing this game, it was so good! The first long stretch with the Xenomorph after you find the flight recorder was one of the most tense gaming moments I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I've also never seen a more stressful saving mechanic in any game.
I love, love, love this game. Not just because the original Alien is my favorite movie ever made, but because, as someone who has consumed horror games their entire life, this one is by far among the scariest and succeeds in making me tense every time I play it. As much a horror masterpiece as the movie it's based on.
i got this game for $2 on steam, what a great game, i love what they did with this game, hope we can see a sequel one day or something related
Dude, you guys' videos are so amazingly well done it's insane, please keep up the amazing work!
The very very best Alien game. The best movie license game and the best horror game all in one package.
Also getting the cast back together for Crew Expandable DLC was mind blowing dedication.
Just the best Alien game ever shame we'll never have a sequel 😥
Not really bad if they genuinely don't have anything to add to.
A mediocre studio demanded sequel would be an insult to this game and to us.
It's somewhat of a shame, but the game is a complete, polished package and doesn't really need any sequel to bring closure or what have you.
Im glad they didn’t make a sequel because it might tarnish the original how do you make a sequel as good if not better?
What could a sequel add? I can't think of anything.
It's better off as a one-time gem
one of the best horror games ever
Was literally looking for documentaries on alien isolation and I see a notification from GVMERS. Haha
One of the most memorable games I've ever played.
"This is Lingard, Senior Medical Officer, Sevastopol Station. I want to... (correcting herself) I want to state for the record that I have been place under duress with regards to the compromised Patient Zero.
And Ransome, Seegson's head of operations, he... ...he made certain threats toward my career and certification, I want that on record. But God help me, that woman needed help. I didn't know what type of parasite she had encountered, but it planted something inside her. I am So Sorry. I had no way of knowing what would happen..."
-Lingard's Report
Great timing! Just started my second playthrough. Still just as awesome as it was all those years ago.
A true master piece!
Everything is perfect in this game, the atmosphere, the horror element, stealth, IA, a unique game play...
"Game too hard on hard dificulty" -IGN
IGNorance? Of course!
the guy that reviewed the game for IGN gave it a 5.9 and called it mediocre.
utter incompetence.
That review is the worst review of all time tbh
@@bloodondope I hate you.
I had spent two years never mentioning Ryan McCaffrey's name - and then YOU come along.
I thought it was over.
But you've reminded me that it isn't!
Ryan McCaffrey's review for Alien: Isolation, my favourite ever game, was the worst review in the history of computer games journalism.
A shocker that can never be forgotten or forgiven.
[I don't hate you really - I do hate Ryan McCaffrey though.]
Lol I remember that. I think I left a snarky comment.
Great game and really captures the tech look of the 80s Alien
Perfect. This just released on Epic again with a free DLC. The ending really makes you wish for another sequel
Are you advertising for epic? Why would you mention that?
@@piotrgrzelak2613 anyone can get the game for free? Why not?
@@DeepeyeLV game is free? That's not what op said
Very fun and suspenseful game, definitely recommend playing this with headphones in dimly lit room. 5/5 would play it again
I've played through this game countless times and absolutely love it. I wish they would make a sequel....
This and dead space 1 were the only games ive ever been scared of... both brilliant
I’ve never tried dead space but I plan on trying it out soon
This game deserved so much more love and a sequel. :(
Please make a documentary on Resident Evil series too.Love your work. This is such a treat for someone who likes watching documentaries ...
As I've said before. What I like about your channel is the background details you get like "All Your History Is Belong to Us" used to before Machinama killed most of their properties and MCN partners. Glad to see someone pick up the mantle. Here's to nearly getting half a million.
Recently got back into this hidden gem, and I found out two things having a new 8k tv:
1. This game is stunning
And 2.. it’s bloody terrifying on surround sound 😂🙈
Finally!
A new video!
Alien Isolation is one of the best for Alien Franchise!
Seriously I could listen to this guy all day, amazing narrator! 👌
Glad to see you cover this masterpiece of a game
Great video on a great game! Alien Isolation proves how trends play a very pivotal role in entertainment even if creators don't want to admit it. The trend in this case being most survival horror were in third person at the time, but Alien Isolation decided to buck that trend, and here we are, almost a decade later and now first person horror (RE; Amnesia) is all the rage again. Ironic, and I'm sure we'll swing back to third person as the '20s go on. Keep up the great work!
The insane amount of detail that went into this game's world & atmosphere shows how much love Creative Assembly has for the Alien IP.
The amount of detail in this game is truly unreal. Probably the best Alien game out there with regards to the original film.
Just discovered this channel and the wonderful voiceover with its classic televison diction and clarity made me an instant subscriber :)
Resident evil 3 og from 1999 had that mechanic.
That ain't happening...the game didn't sell well enough.
Your videos are extremely underrated you guy are basically the history or national geographic of games.
Incredibly well made video. It’s very informative and I love the footage and pictures of the game’s development and exclusive concept art. I’ve beat the game on hard mode first try over two years ago and I still play it today because it’s a super beautiful game.
I want to see you guys do a video on Alien vs Predator the game that's on XBOX360 and PS3
And now Disney are making the sequel and NOT using Creative? sounds almost cruel.
Edit: Damn that was a good vid, thank you.
I love this channel automaticly, reminds me of my youth days nonstop history channel. Now its in game form great things do happen.
-We really need a part 2 to this masterpiece. If not a “The Thing” game made by this same team would be EPIC. 🔥
The Last Alien game worth of some time, great video like always, guys
Alien Isolation, Dead Space and Doom 3, the holy trinity of sci-fi horror games in my opinnion. Great video!
TBH, I prefer the longer videos but in any event. I pleasant look and reminder of one of my favorite games this decade.
I just wished there'd be an option which would mix things up, like:
-unpredictable Android routines (Working Joes investigate all accessible areas, all nearby terminals, cover longer distances, search near phone booths if they lost the player, fixing and guarding routines because they are security and maintenance bots)
-Smarter human AI
-more NPCs on higher difficulties
-Heavy Joes arriving like the light version per Transit or elevator if you linger too long
-Joes being able to rip you out of vents if you are close enough
Small tweaks like that would keep it a lot more interesting, but if you finished the game 7 times on all difficulties, you just kinda know how to avoid most hostile creatures and robots
Love the video. One of the few channels I have the bell on to tell me about new videos. Love your stuff, thanks team!
If they announced they were making a sequel I would pre-order that game so hard the transaction would break the internet.
I’m in my second attempt now. This game is so fun. And scary. Sneaking around, getting caught, making it a little farther each time, it’s addictive.
I'm thinking of streaming this game. This will be a fun watch
I don't know how this guy got into doing these voice over for gamers
videos are amazing and I hope to enjoy for many years to come thank you
I think you guys should team up with Noclip, they make documentaries like yours, you both making something would be jawdropping
Great vid! I love this game. Platinuned it and then DLed it for Switch and did it all over again. Watching this makes me want to go again!
One of my favorite channels. Great video.
You (this channel) needs to feel big even if it's videos are being made by one person
Much love mate
Just got Alien: Isolation for free in Epic Games Store, i'm having a lot of fun and tension😂
