They’re the group who got me into kpop in the first place and I’m so thankful for them . It makes me so sad they’re still mistreated even to this day

I'm waiting on them to do what JYJ did and just leave the company (as a whole or at least most of them) despite the backlash they may receive. They've been around for a while now and get severely mismanaged.

I remember when B.A.P were forced to leave the hospital against doctor recommendations to perform, and they even had Himchan in a wheelchair backstage during the performance. Daehyun still had the IV needle taped to his hand and performed live while being evaluated for pneumonia. It was one of the most painful performances I've ever watched. And the worst part is that they performed beautifully on stage even with all that going on.
I remember that performance! They all looked scared and sad but still managed to pull it off. I'm just glad that IV tape was left on Dae's wrist. That was freakin evidence for TS' crimes!

Jung Wook is currently the CEO of JYPE and has been for the past twelve years so really he is to blame for all the mistreatment that the idols under JYPE are facing. JYP himself does have a very high position of power in the company being that he's the founder but as of lately I don't think he has much say in comebacks but rather what image he may want groups to have or what direction he wants them to go in. Jung Wook is responsible for GOT7's mistreatment along with staff at JYPE.

I would definitely add EXO. 3 members leaving is no joke. Their continuous mistreatment of Lay, the way they pretend Sehun doesn’t exist, the way they handled Chen’s marriage news, absolute zero western promotion - the fact that they are only SM group without a tiktok handle (not to mention how suspicious it is that sehun deleted his not even a day later) is all very telling. This doesn’t even cover their packed schedules and forcing members to perform even in sickness, etc.
Exo's journey to fame has blood in it. It just people blinded by their fame and being called "they are famous and NO mistreatment because they are under SME"
I'm not an EXO-L (I'm sorry if I wrote that wrong), I'm an ARMY, but I've heard about the things EXO has gone through (especially Chen) and it is really sad. I think that every K-pop group has had mistreatment no matter how small or big it is.

Nah things got worse than mere mismanagement for GOT7. Staffs preventing them from making lives, not booking halls so that they had to do the fansign next to trash cans, throwing away the leader’s songs and disencouraging him, etc. There are things only fans know, and I dont expect non-fans to do more research, but I hope at least you dont underestimate what hell they have been through under JYPE
i see what ur saying but what got7 went through was more than just not given a teaser or lack of promotions..in a lot of their lives they had to hide from staff members and forced to start a live in a closet in secret...the company sold tickets for a concert but didnt book the concert place so u can see ahgases hiding behind the dumbster cramped and got7 crying and explaining things..and although u said they didnt go through any sexual or physical abuse..the mental abuse they went through is still very prominent. jyp didnt do anything for got7 when they were found out or harassed from sasaengs and the members had to deal with it themselves. got7 gets gaslighted so much just because they didnt go through the other struggles of other groups but they were still hella mistreated

The fact that got7 have such a bad management but are still THAT successful is just...Damn.
Of course the company brand plays a major role but seriously, they built their own status and reputation from the ground and up. Such a shame, many groups are constantly held back due to bad management, injuries, and mistreatment which is truly such a shame. I hope the best for GOT7, they struggled and worked extremely hard to get to the position they are in, they may not be the most popular group, but they are up there, it actually shouldn’t even matter about popularity, what matters is the effort and the work ethic, GOT7 are such a hard working group of individuals. I hope the best for them in the future, along with all other groups.

Got7 was the second K-pop group I ever listened to next to BTS. I knew the two bands had been known to be good friends and I loved their music. I never got the chance to see them perform live. While I'm glad they left when they could after I heard about the mistreatment I was sad to hear about how bad it got. They are and always will be legends. Just because they're not a part of HYPE doesn't mean they're not a band, they bought the rights to the name and promised us that they'll be back.

They filed a law suit agants the agency and I watched their declarations being broadcasted on tv and here on yt. Although I'm surptised to see that a lot of people don't know about this. It's really sad and it goes to show we don't really know what happens in those agencies.

Many ppl forgetting abt that/don't want to see any negative things but i think it's one of our most important jobs. Many bad things happened to Idols and i could spend a entirety to list idols who were/are being mistreated. I can't force ppl my opinion so it's not my place to say "you can't favourite a Entertainment" but i will always talk about the dark reality
For real! I first read about it when I was looking into TS (my favorite group is BAP which was under the same company) and to see if they did another group wrong. And lo and behold they did. TS needs to go bankrupt and cease to exist.
The fact that GOT7 were treated fine for two years and then it started becoming worse just made me scared for other groups like stray kids, xdinary heroes etc. They're new but there is always a possibility that this could happen to them
I wouldn’t say GOT7 were treated “fine” for their first 2 years but it definitely got much worse after 2 years. In the early days, JYP had made so many bad investments that they were heavily in debt by the time GOT7 debuted. They overworked the group early on to pull themselves out of debt.
I wouldn’t worry as much about these newer boy groups because yes JYPE does give preferential treatment to GGs but the company also isn’t in the same situation as it was when GOT7 started. There may be some mismanagement but probably not to the same level of mistreatment that GOT7 went through. Already, JYP has been far kinder to Stray Kids since the beginning of their career than they ever were to GOT7.
honestly my biggest concern is that xdinary heroes will be treated as badly as day6. they currently only have on EP out and their single but they've already gotten into a ridiculous scandal that the company dealt with poorly. as for stray kids they are currently the front runners of the 4th gen so i doubt jyp would do much to risk that, and plus he is very kind to the boys. i just hope that they treat the heroes right, they're so young and talented.
To this day B.A.P is still my most favorite boy group. They had so much potential, but got taken for granted. So disappointing.

The East Light mistreatment was BAD, they were literally minors being physically and mentally abused. One could only imagine the trauma they dealt with.
Even though got7 doesn't get as much care and support from jyp as they should. But they are still can build a strong fan base around the world and became one of the kpop groups that globally known in the industry. All with theirselves and their abilities. I can't even imagine how far got7 would go with more support from their company. Throughout the past 7 years, Eeach member in the group hasn't even had the opportunity to show their talents to their fullest. But now they're out of JYP. They've always been given the freedom to make music as they should have. They are so talented that even the fans themselves can't even imagine. Let's support the boys!!!
The problem with JYP is that he believes that he is a very good musician ... and he can't accept the fact that he's just an average singer/songwriter.
YES! 💯 His era passed by a long time ago. I do not think he knows what the public wants & likes in today's market. Plus, he doesn't want to share any of the profits from the songs with the idols. That would not only give them money, but more importantly, it would give them power. They would have influence & prestige, especially if the song did well. JYP doesn't want that because they need to keep their idols on a level below them so that they always feel that they need their company to survive. It's about control.

JYP is professional not emotional, he’s not CEO so ofc he doesn’t control much, but he usually has an honest opinion. You see this with every group, not just GOT7, he’s eliminated members, discredited talents, like Gordon Ramsey or Simon Cowell.

As a former fan of BAP, I was wondering how could TS make money if everything was so shite in TS and the idols weren't promoted well (which is necessary for a stable income + Sonamoo was also a flop). Guess there's some massive money laundering going on.
Oh yeah, since Secret and B.A.P their only 2 big groups, the next 2 groups kind of seemed like a copy of certian other groups but I don't know why anyone would wanna audition their since B.A.P's lawsuit fioed by the entire group.

Mark was once given USED CHOPSTICKS by a JYP staff. JYP follows all his artists ( even those who left the company ) except the GOT7 members.
He always insults/mocks them in lives ( imagine how worse it would be off camera ).
JYP doesn’t give a damn about their safety, Jackson had a car accident once because of a saeseng, he and bambam had to MOVE since their adresses were leaked, their numbers always get « accidentally « leaked and have sleepless nights because of calls from haters and saesengs. They even had to publish posts begging people to let them sleep.
There was a time when one of the members ( Mark ) was not allowed to meet his family even in his vacation because of some ´plans’ that btw ended up being a fart.
They have no creative freedom, if you compare them to other JYP groups, JYP doesn’t let them publish their own songs.
They’re censored, a lot of times, JB’s vlives get deleted and they even deleted Yugyeom’s live just because he thanked Aghase ( fandom name).
JYP rejects most of their acting, modeling, mc-ing offers ( we know since we were the ones who contacted the shows/directors but they said that the manager is « unreachable « or are just flat-out rejected )
They had to post their own photo teasers and the the MV’s date since the official GOT7 account was dead...and the list goes on.
It may not be seen as something severe like the 1st case but when you think that this have been going for 7 years and compare their situation to other JYP groups, the sabotage would be pretty obvious for everyone to see.

In BAP's situation it was not just the Entertainment Company but also the society, this group was one of the few groups in that industry that sang about very controversial topics while also great music. Their music truly impacted me in many ways. Talent wise BAP in my opinion was one of the most talented groups in their era, I have yet to see another group like them. This is talent that we loss due to constant fight down, it is truly sad.

Actually, Lay is still under SM and a part of EXO, he was just not allowed to perfom and promote with them due to the Hallyu ban, which has luckily ended, since there's SM's chinese NCT Subunit/Subgroup called WayV promoting in China and many K-Pop groups being quite popular in China as well. He mostly makes solo music in both mandarin and english.
EXO got mistreated ever since debut, mostly the Chinese members. That's why KrisHanTao left. Then they still are getting mistreated, MV shootings in a parking lot while other groups gets to travel overseas. Some Western Artists wants to collaborate with EXO but SM declines, but they're okay with other groups doing collabs. They have few to none when it comes to promotions since 2018. They only produce so much albums though fans can buy millions of them in a comeback. EXO is their biggest money maker and apparently owns SM building yet they're not grateful.
I wish EXO leaves SM in 2022 and finds a better company. EXO's talent and hardwork is wasted on SM.

There are fans who try to carry on saying "Cube is a family", when other fans say "Cube doesn't care about their artists they only care about the bottom line".
They've shown time & time again that they only care about profit over artists.
trcng need to seriously leave TS. trcng deserves so much better.
The parents of the other 8 that stayed in the company (to this day still) sued the other 2 that left after all this shit was revealed. I’m a Trcng stan, but this still makes me so mad, they could’ve left together, sued the company together like b.a.p did, but chose not to. Nothing has been done, and it’s been years since they made a comeback, they’re so talented, they could be out there doing other things and getting recognized... it’s a shame. TSE has to be shut down!

For various reasons, I'd include Monsta X here. Not only because of their company, but also by kpoppers and the industry in general. They're pioneers in so many aspects, but people keep diminishing them or ignoring that they were the first ones to do many things that inspired so many other groups. Their life was kinda hell before they got their first win, but after Wonho had to leave (not because he really wanted to) they can't even talk about him, and Wonho is still, to this day, getting literally cropped out of their past, he's blurred of pics and videos like he was never a part of the group... yeah, their story is much more than I've said here but there's just SOOOOO MUCH to say. they've gone through a lot and that's why they love and thank their fans so much. :(
They even ruined Boyfriend (First starship BG) and it was worse than Monsta X

@NeonEyes they have a big fandom in korea but not as big as international. It's because they were never promoted in korea to the locals properly. Whenever locals got to know about them, they loved the boys. It's all jype's fault.

At one point BTS were getting way more attention internationally than at home so BH took advantage of that and promoted accordingly. The bigger BTS got overseas the more Korea started paying attention and the rest is history. JYPE doesn't seem all the interested in that ever since the Wonder Girls failure.

@@rebix6848 the agency literally took most of their money. For concert BAP got pretty decent that's why they are touring a lot (I mean A LOT!!). In Yongguk's autobiography book he even said that he had to work as newspaper boy coz he doesn't have money (during lawsuit. It's that BAD!!). He also said he met lots of awful people in that agency.

For everyone just to be clear she and Dawn weren't fired because they were dating but because after Cube denied the rumours, they uniliteraly called the journalists and confirmed their relationship. They went against their previous agency official statement breaching their contrant and making investors losing trust in CUBE so the agency decided to fire them. I personally don't care about idols private and dating life but at that time I found their actions really unprofessional and irresponsible. In particular Dawn who at that time was in a group with 9 other people and their next comeback was approaching.
Lmao JYPE was brave enough to reject Jayb's songs but look what they gave to NMIXX.

It's entirely his personal blame as he was the one responsible in saying all these, Jay Park once said "JYP only cares about himself and not the artists" before walking out of the company.
MISTREATMENT IS NOT JUST ABOUT PROMOTIONS, ITS THE WAY THEY "TREAT" THE ARTISTS!

JYP owns more than 17% of company share, one of the 16 board members who accept the songs or creative stuffs from the artists, he has one of the most weighted final says in the album songs confirmations.

The reason that I think there is a difference of treatment between female and male idols when it comes to JYP is that Itzy revealed in a recent interview that JYP himself often comes around and visits the girls while practicing. Yeji said that he would bring them food, little snacks and sometimes even expensive medication(for colds, flus, or just things to boost their health). He would also constantly ask them things like “have you eaten” or “are you guys resting well” or “please don’t get sick” as a fan of the girls I’m glad they are getting such great treatment but I haven’t heard of him doing things like this with any of his male idols. The company itself also has a tendency to promote and spend more time energy and money on their ggs which I just think is unfair towards the hundred if not thousands of male trainees and idols that pretty much signed their youth, if not life, away and trusted the company. I respect your opinion on the subject as I am just expressing how I feel personally and it seems that a decent amount of others also feel. I don’t know the CEO of JYP nor do I know Jin young Park himself so I am simply stating how certain events and situations made me feel a little creeped out by both the company and the artist.

It wasn't that simple actually. At least bcoz JYPE not blacklist them just like what SM did toward JYJ and Jessica. Also maybe they already have enough money to settle, so different with ex-T$ artist situation where the most popular group with many world tour and many achievement in the past got payment less than supermarket worker. Also probably bcoz of such incident gave them burden mentally and decide to not comeback into music bcoz it's too traumatized for them. What happen with them after leave doesn't tell someone is more talented than others.

This might be a bit controversial, but I'm like 99.99% sure SONAMOO will pull a FIESTAR/After School/gugudan/[u get what I mean]. They'll never get a comeback and will disband after a long time of inactivity.
I don't know about the other groups, but I do know that Sally from gugudan participated in a competition show and is now in chinese girl group Bonbon Girls 303, if you'd like to support her!

That B.A.P situation is insane. I understand there was probably a lot going on behind the scenes but continuing to work for an employer you just sued is a terrible decision. The way it sounds here, the company not only didn't have to take responsibility for the mistreatment but also took their revenge on the group by overworking them even more. They probably payed of the company's legal fees with their comebacks...

@@mintbows they are a self-producing group formed by jype through a survival show and they all signed their contracts with jype and in these contracts is written that they will have control over their group themselves. That means the music they make is self-produced, they decide when they make comebacks, what type of theme for the comeback, filming, promotions and more the only thing jype can do is destroy their contracts which would cause a lawsuit against jype themselves because there is no reason behind it and it would just take away a huge amount of money considering the fact that skz is very famous nowadays and is still gaining attention. Jype does have some control ober skz but not very much such like other groups. The most things are in the hands of skz themselves. :) and in my opinion they already overshadowed jyp himself and I'm pretty sure they will reach a very very large fanbase around the world because their style is so unique no-one can reach it and it will make a huge impact in the industry of kpop in the future :) proud of the boys^^

When BTS first debuted, they were mistreated not by their company but by the entire kpop industry in general. They were constantly shut out and got their performances cut off from broadcasts. They were even called girls for wearing makeup and were disrespected on talk shows. Please do more research before you say anything.

The Rose is a Kpop band who was EXTREMELY mistreated they didn’t get paid for their tours I went to their show in NYC and it was AMAZING but later I found out that they didn’t get paid for it I was like WTF where tf did my money go I feel so bad for them especially cuz they are so talented and hardworking and they deserve recognition!

@@sel0ua exactly, it hurts because as an aghase i always supported other jype nation groups, we are a family for god sack we should have our back and aghase main problem is always jype and we never drag other groups, what we state in the injustice situation which is running in this company. it hurt me so much that aghse were complaining why got7 2020 kbs and sbs stage had the bare minimum set design and one of jype nation fandom said " jype give them the least minimum set because of ours our groups deserve more and company should pay for them more ". i was so sad, all we want is equality exactly. my fav may treated well in company but why they cant see other groups mistreating?

It's not an unpopular opinion, it's a true opinion. The only reason Stray kids is doing so well is because JYP confessed that he was intimidated by them. He also said he was scared they would turn down songs he wrote for them, and him being intimidated is why they have to many self composed and written songs
