Not necessarily underrated. It just so happen that majority of viewers do not necessarily follow groups or idols each step of the way. Many just casually listen and watch MVs. But if one really follow IVE for instance, Liz and Rei will easily be the top favorites of the group in terms of talent and personality.

Yuta is seriously a fan attraction, he's so handsome, his stage performances are top notch and his on stage power is amazing. But yet he's still being neglected by not just company but by some fans too. And the majority of the fandom just jokes about him being obsessed with mark and winwin. I really hope when NCT Japan debuts, yuta can join the group and show his full potential.

To be honest I did got into the girl group IVE by Yujin and Wonyoung but after looking at their first ever photos to be out, Liz caught my eyes. After hearing their debut song 'Eleven', I fell in love with Liz beautiful voice. I really feel bad for her. She is so precious.. 😞💗

He started off with a gorgeous, very square masculine chin and jaw and clearly got a v shaped jaw shave and triangle implant that elongated his chin in a very unnatural way. I'm really hoping he gets it corrected because you can tell it bothers him. He covers it a lot with his hands when the camera is focused on him.
Yuta is a surprise. He was a favorite (esp for a foreign idol) of SM for a while. He’s still one of the most popular members on NCT, too. He was featured in Black on Black as kind of third in command behind only Taeyong and Mark (both are leaders). He got his center time in just about every MV too. I wonder if he pissed someone off at the company. He’s my bias of 127, and I didn’t know he was being mistreated like this.

I just don’t think Chaeyeon needs to be apart of this list. She’s not even the most mistreated member of her group and she has the most lines and a lot of screen time. She wasn’t center a few times but she stood right next to Xiaoting, still clearly seen and focused on. Mashiro, Bahiyyih, and Yeseo are treated way worst. Barely any lines or screen time and never the focus or center. But I do agree with the rest of the people on this list. And Giselle is even sadder because it’s just the four of them, SM goes out of the way to ignore her and Yuta

Actually Liz caught my eyes first when I’ve first debuted. Her visual was so impressive with blonde hair and her facial expressions are so good (in fact most I’ve members are so good in flirting with the camera). I hope that she will get better exposure (but Starship is such a shitty company, so I can’t expect much from them. Sadly)

WakeOne is NOT making Chaehyun disappear or invisible. She's technically the official center but a lot of people were confused that she won 1st place anyway. Xiaoting has always been the actual center and it suits her more too. But WakeOne is definitely not, in any kind of way making Chaehyun disappear. She still gets a lot of parts and screentime too. The fact that netizens are complaining about the hair is hilarious too. Ever thought about the possibility of a company letting Idols decide what happens with their hair? Ever wondered that she maybe doesn't wanna kill her hair with tons of chemicals?
Let's rather talk about Bahiyyih or Yeseo and Mashiro who don't get the treatment they deserve. Bahiyyih is extremely popular, every kpop-fan knows about her and yet she barely gets screen time or lines. That's actual mistreatment.

In my theory, there 2 reasons of why kep1er's recent comeback isn't that successful:
1. Chaehyun was basically not seen
2. Distributions sucks so bad.
Chaehyun's biggest fanbase is from south korea and i guess chae's fans boycotted "troubleshooter" era bcs their fav are not there.
Me as a hierang have been vocally said this matter ever since wadada, like chae's haters said that she's not the center material and she's fat. I got angry and defended chaehyun by saying she won by default and she deserved that spot and i blame wakeone for letting the peace within the fandom broke.
Edit: i'm not saying to hate xiaoting, but alot of non-keplians also noticed this too, alongside with hiyyih's line distributions issue. I just blame wakeone for letting this happened. Wakeone really need to step up their game and realize what they have done wrong.

The show isn't even that popular in korea anyway, the last round voting system where koreans got a bigger voting power really shy away all the potential international fans, who actually watched the show, unlike some koreans who votes just because they dont want any non korean member in a group (the one who doesnt care about the group), that's where many of the korean members got the vote in the last round. idk why wakeone target the korean market when they know the show is more popular internationally, they really wanna please their smaaaaal korean market lol. This is why ppl said that kpop is just business and it shows very well. Nowadays, visuals (xiaoting) are more recognizable than talents (chaehyun). All they care abt is visuals, visuals and visuals. You can apply this with dayeon who have loads of talents but can't beat xiaoting's popularity due to how ppl see her as the prettiest in the group.

The weight correlation was clearly seen in Twice's Jihyo. But it mainly came from Netizen's relentless attacks, that made her insecure and left her in severe depression.
This is just my opinion as a Chaehyun bias, since she is already the main vocal, and isn't in the dance line, so Xiaoting who is more of a visual/dancer being in the center a lot makes sense
In my opinion, wakeone can give xiaoting center along with chaehyun if they think xiaoting is a great center. I'm agree with that. But the truth is wakeone didn't treat chaehyun as a center, her air time, outfit or everythings didn't support a word " center". She is main vocal but half of the line distribution is adlib. 1. I mean People do realise gp999 is a global show and Xiaoting was actually one if the most popular candidates and was first for most of the episodes. This shows how many people recognize her talents. I mean we can't say at the end of the day who actually deserved first place as People chase behind the most popular and get trapped by mnet's evil editing and again the final voting system gave 50% priority to korean voters which isn't fair as there were 33 contestants from 3 different nations participating. Even china and japan votes should have been given the same priority. This voting system is what made Chae Hyun got first place. Otherwise bahiyyih would have gotten first place. WIth a voting system like this how would you know who is the person who actually deserves to be a center. And Xiaoting should have been in the Top3 position considering how talented she is. She barely making it into the line up shows how f*cked up the voting system is .And Again center position for each song should be given based on who fits the concept more. Like ITZY's ending center keeps changing. And everyone in Kep1er can actually pull it off.
2. I mean Liz should have been given more lines in chorus. And her treatment by her agency is horrible. I mean without her IVE's vocal line will be weak. They better treat her well

Do these companies not realize that when you neglect your idols they find it hard to gain confidence and motivation which makes it twice as hard to shine within the group. It's wrong to treat another human being that way but it's also bad for business. When your employees are not happy it means their motivation to excel in their career and the opportunity grow your company dwindles.
*Chaehyun's actually had 4 hair color changes since winning (with black hair) -- pink, blonde, light brown, brunette
Youngeun, Yujin and Mashiro have stayed within black-brown the whole time, Bahiyyih has been blonde and recently some pink (which for her is just a washout so it's still blonde)
But her hairstyle has been the same, long straight hair with bangs 🤔 either tied or let loose.

What do you mean? Bahiyyih's stans are always complaining about something, she doesn't get many lines/screen time and they act like it's the end of the world. It's very unfair for her to be mistreated this way but Chaehyun was promised, by winning first place, something (toto be the center) that she's not getting, Bahiyyih got second place but nothing was promised to her, both of them are one's of weakest rappers in the group, and the group quite focus a lot on rap, they're both on the weaker side in dancing but Chaehyun is by far the best vocalist in the group, so comparing their lines (singing lines) is not fair at all to Chaehyun, it's the least that the company can do after taking away from her her center position.
Chaehyun fans complaining is valid tho. Chaehyun is the official center but isn't treated as a center. Dayeon and Xiaoting are treated more as centers than her.

The way these idols are treated just shows that their company see them as nothing more than a product to use, abuse and make them money or they would have corrected the way they treat them. If fans want them to be treated better then stop giving them your money, because that is the only way they will get the message because money is the only language they understand.
It's sad to see that not stopping any sooner. In Kepler's case, I don't think I would be happy with Xiaoting being favored more than the official center Chaehyun just because she has more visual. It is no longer about the talent anymore, but what's the most profitable they can do.

Visual matters alongside performing ability because if you have good songs and good performances but lack in visual it doesn't necessarily sales better. Idols are not vocalist, they are performers, entertainer, they need to be at least visually pleasing to ppl. Complete package. Also majority of target audiences are teenagers, who are usually at the stage where they care more about looks

I was never really satisfied with the treatment of Kpop Idols these days especially Gen4 Idols. There is always a "black sheep" in the group, that gets a different low treatment. Hope that changes cuz this can end bad.

It's actually the public that determines the marketability of each individual member....Bottom line is profit and money AND it's a fierce popularity contest as well These K-Ent companies all have marketing teams that crunch numbers and data , and will utilize and market each members accordingly... And then when the fans notice, they will again take it into account and adjust accordingly ...It's always been like this with all groups and bands

The thing about aespa is.... in Korea (their biggest fanbase) aespa is all about Karina and Winter , and In Japan 70% of Mys are Winter fan and in Chinese market Karina dominates sales follow by Ningning, And in most other asian countries Karina is the most popular member While Ningning is the most popular in Western countries... Giselle come last or Second last in most countries when it comes to demand , especially in Korea their biggest fanbase.. so it kinda make sense because A kpop company is just a business afterall, if you are in demand the treatment is better

It's funny because I came to discover about Ive because of the debut photo of LIZ. Despite being a kpop fan for more than 6 years, I didn't know that Wonyoung was THAT popular. (Probably because I wasn't an izone fan) Liz drew me towards Ive and I didn't even realise that Wonyoung and Yujin was in the same group as her until I saw the Eleven m/v. It's sad to see her being mistreated like this. I'm not a fan of ive but I will always support Liz.

Plus the other members are constantly doing activities to build their own brand because unlike wy and yj, they don’t have 4 years worth of experience and networking. The problem with Kep1er is that WakeOne and Mnet vision for the group was determined way before the show and the group was made.
And unfortunately since the voting isn't rigged. It didn't turn out like they wanted.
Some companies need to do better in treating all their groups and idols the same.

For me I prefer xiaoting as center in kep1ee but I'm not saying that chaeyhun is a bad center . When Kep1er is performing Chaeyhun/Kep1er center is overshined by Xiaoting , Dayeon , Hikaru .
wakeone is definitely not making chaehyun disappear. (literally why would they, chaehyun is literally the only member under wakeone in kep1er) xiaoting just suits the center position more (better stage presence & suits the concepts more) + she’s the visual & one of the most popular members. naturally she would get pushed more than the other members. chaehyun gets decent lines, decent screentime & more. also for the hair, she’s probably just letting her hair heal after dying it pink & blonde in just a few months. (which probably needs a lot of bleaching which severely damages the hair)

tbh , i dont see a big deal between wake1 and chaehyun. i would disagree with wat u say because if u dig it more deeply u can find alot of moment where chaehyun stand and sit in the center . And to say that wake1 give xioating more center ,, i definitely recommend u to watch other kep1er video where chaehyun always sit in the center during vlive or sit interview and even if other member sit in different position like the vlive where they all use purple outfit. its clearly wake1 do favour chaehyun more. u can clearly see in their we fresh mv where they even book more upgrade scene for chaehyun.
