I think the Bucs should've gone for two, but to say, "go for two AND win" is the problem. First, going for two is not easy and if they would've missed that conversion then everyone would be up in arms saying that they should've gone for the tie and take it to OT. The BIGGEST difference is the way KC worked in OT. Go back and watch, the offense slowed their pace down and were calculating, deliberate and methodical. That's Championship mentality from top down. We complain the league is too catered to offense but also complain when there is an element that promotes defense, make it make sense.
I'm more surprised that they think the decision was made in the moment. They knew they needed a TD when the drive started, and they knew they would kick for the tie if they scored the TD. For better or for worse, overtime and winning the coin toss was the goal the entire time.
If they go for 2 and don't get it these same bozos would be out here clowning on them for not kicking the PAT. It's so easy to play Tuesday morning QB. I have no issue with them playing for OT. Their defense had been getting a massive amount of pressure on mahomes all game long. They had 4 sacks, 7 QB hits, and 8 tackles for a loss. Let's not pretend like they didn't go toe to toe and push them to the brink. That game could've easily gone the other way if TB wins that coin flip.

I love the fact that somehow the Bucs converting the 2 point conversion is an afterthought. It’s so disingenuous. But I guess the game was only played in the last 30 seconds and not the 59 minutes prior. As Todd Bowles said- “we lost the game”.
Everyone keeps bringing up the 30 seconds. Bucs coach is the reason so much time was left since he called his last timeout earlier than he needed to. They should have gone for 2. Crazy for them to think they stood a chance in OT.
I think Bowles made the right call. Get Up had analytics for both scenarios and kicking the PAT gave the Bucs a slightly better chance of winning. W/o analytics, if they don't get the 2-pointer, they lose. If they make it, and go up by one, the best clutch QB of this era has 30 seconds and all 3 (I think) timeouts to get into FG position for one of the best clutch kickers in the game to win it. Bowles kicked the PAT and, if TB had won the flip, they would have had a good chance to win.
I will always take being criticized for wisely kicking the extra point and going to overtime, over unsuccessfully going for 2 points & losing in regular time. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to a great quarterback showing his class on that winning drive in ot.
😂 the Bucs take a one point lead with 27 seconds remaining and Mahomes gets the ball back with three time outs and 25 yards for the field goal.. Chiefs still win like against Buffalo they had 13 seconds…
Cartoon is not saying both teams need the ball in OT if the Chiefs lost without touching the ball. That guy is a cartoon character. How he gets to be on TV is annoying
I wondered why when the Chiefs were up 24-17 and there was 3 minutes left, why two running plays right into the scrum, and then punt? Why not at least go with what got you 24 points, letting Mahomes throw a few passes. Chiefs wouldn't have had to even get to that.
Bucs completely butchered the end of that 4th quarter. They didnt need to call a time out to stop the clock. All they had to do was spike the ball and you have 3 plays to get into the endzone. You have that timeout just in case you need to stop the clock for any reason. If they managed that right they wouldnt even needed to use that timeout and left the chiefs with no time and try to win it with the 2 point conversion. They completely panicked and it cost them. You have the game in your hands and you played conservative with a 4-4 record.
Greg Jennings stating Bucs have a "sound defense." As a Bucs fan, HA! They have a bottom five defense which is why Mahomes had his best game of the season.
Chiefs fan here: Last week, I felt like the raiders. Moved the ball on us pretty good. When they got that interception at the goal line. They couldn't even get it in with the interception and then offensively. They had 3 times to try to get it in and couldn't do it. That's one of the situations to where either call, if it didn't work.Nobody was going to like it
30 seconds on the clock and you want to give pat ball back with 30 seconds and three times out with four downs. They messed up taking the time out that why you kick the ball so don’t get beat
Don't talk as if going for 2 is a foregone conclusion. The odd of conversion are less than 1/3. You just drove down the field on the Chiefs. And you've sacked Mahomes more than any other team.
Going for 2 was probably the wrong choice. I give it about a 50% chance they make the conversion. If they don't make it they have to try for a super low percentage onside kick, so missing it basically guarantees they lose. If they DO make it, they then have to prevent a desperate Mahomes from getting 30 yards with 30 seconds and 3 timeouts to spend, using 4 downs whenever necessary. That's probably a 50/50 shot on its own, so going for 2 has about a 25% win rate in that situation with my own back of the napkin math. Starting over with overtime is basically a straight wash, with maybe a slight advantage to KC as the arguably better team and with homefield advantage.
Everyone talks like 2 point conversions are a given, the buccaneers are 33% on 2point conversions. If they had not made it and lost by 1 point everyone would say it was a bad choice.
I think what the Chiefs D did to the Raiders in 2 Goal situations played into the calling the last timeout. They wanted enough time in case the Chiefs did the same thing to Bucs.
They make the 2. Mahomes has 30 seconds left, all his timeouts, DHOP and Trav killin it and all he has to have is a FG? Please....call the whaaaaaambalamps..
Whats funny is if they would have went for 2 and failed these people would have said they should have kicked the extra point and played for overtime SMH none of these guys are NFL coaches they dont know anything but they giving advice. Hindsight is always 20/20
I've seen Patrick Mahomes kick a field goal starting at the 25yd in 13 seconds... this is all hypothetical... you give your team a chance to win not just a 1 play win or lose scenario.
Best case scenario for Bucs to win, knee it at the 2 call timeout with 15 seconds left, hope you get it in the endzone if not you have another shot. Give the ball back to KC with 10 seconds or so. Not saying defense wouldn’t stop them but it’s a better alternative than scoring so quickly .
I'm a Chiefs fan and I just knew they were going for 2.... Sure glad they kicked it, but they would've got stopped anyway... And it was still 30 seconds and 3 timeouts left. Honestly the game should've been over with the previous drive, they always play conservative in a situation where they could've gotten the first down and ran the clock out. Don't know what the spread was but I bet Vegas made more money with a 6 point win than it would've made with a 7 point win....
If TB gets the 2pt conversion, then KC kicks a FG and win. The only hope for TB was the XP, hope KC plays conservatively, then win the toss. With 3 timeouts and 30 seconds, Mahomes is getting into FG range.
Doesn't this conversation sound familiar? As a memory refresher.....Shanahan and Niners in SB-58 with choosing to receive first in OT. The issue once again is coaching when facing ANDY REID aka Dr. Xavier! If your coaching game is not on, you will be subject to mistakes that you will not get away with against COACH REID & MAHOMES!
my head hurt listening to this...holy sh... 1. since when is a 2 pt conversion just "getting 3 yards"? it's a less than 50% success rate. 2. why would TB NEED to go 70 yards to win in OT? KC would be playing 3 down football and could kick a FG....and miss! 🤯 3. why would having KC simply getting into FG range in regulation be better odds than having KC score a TD in OT????? 🤕
"Both teams have to get the ball in overtime." Isn't defense a part of the game? Make a stop. Having said that I actually wouldn't mind if they went to a college type overtime. Maybe not start at the 25, but make it a shoot out type of situation.
If the Bucs went for the 2 point conv. and failed, then everyone would have said why didn't they go for the tie, and then try to get the OT win. All this 2 point crying is nonsense.
Here’s the deal. First, KC has stopped teams in this situation all year. Falcons, Raiders…. Second even if they scored the 2, they would have to kick off to KC with 27 seconds left and 3 timeouts with just a field goal to win the game. What the Bucs were banking on was that 50/50 coin flip. Once they lost that, they knew they lost. But the 50/50 coin flip is a better chance than scoring on that 2 pt play and better chance than giving Mahomes the ball with 27 seconds and 3 TOs and a chance to kick the field goal for the win.
Just proves my point; Todd Bowles IS AN AVERAGE HEAD COACH!!! Pour end of game management! I’m tired of hearing of Mahomes greatness. It’s Andy Reed’s genius play calling! KC is copying Patriots pattern of methodical and systematic play calling down the stretch!
You guys are missing it that time out with 27 seconds ment Patrick mahomes was getting back on the field no matter what, if they would have needed a field goal they would have got one to win the game
I love that this is the topic but had they gone for 2 and not gotten it which is entirely possible we would be talking about how they should have gone for a FG and taken it OT i hate talking about what could have happened why not talk about what did
The buccaneers didn’t score in the first quarter. They could have won it. They need to be better on the offensive side. If they had scored even 3 point field goal kick. The game is over.
It’s hilarious to me that OT was sudden death for decades and no one had a problem. Then it was score a TD, game is over. Pats beat us in the 2019 AFC championship in OT and we never touch the ball, no complaints. As soon as we beat Josh Allen and the Bills in OT, now everyone cries about the OT rules and how both teams should touch the ball and it’s so unfair WAHHHHHHHHHH. How about don’t give up a TD you bums
Every day we stray further from god’s light. Regular season games that end regulation with a tied score should go down in history as TIES. Play to win or lose in regulation.

Bucs folded under the pressure plain and simple.
Refs told TB they would not allow them to score 2 pt conversion
If they go for two then they would say he should of trust his defense and give all the "stats"...they gotta make a show i guess
I wonder if any of these guys have ever coached in an NFL game overtime😂😂😂
I think what the Chiefs D did to the Raiders in 2 Goal situations played into the calling the last timeout. They wanted enough time in case the Chiefs did the same thing to Bucs.
The first mistake was , not forfeiting the game and stay home save injuries for future teams ,
As a Chiefs fan, I am am bored of all this winning.
They make the 2.
Mahomes has 30 seconds left, all his timeouts, DHOP and Trav killin it and all he has to have is a FG?
Please....call the whaaaaaambalamps..
Easier said than done 😂
Whats funny is if they would have went for 2 and failed these people would have said they should have kicked the extra point and played for overtime SMH none of these guys are NFL coaches they dont know anything but they giving advice. Hindsight is always 20/20
I've seen Patrick Mahomes kick a field goal starting at the 25yd in 13 seconds... this is all hypothetical... you give your team a chance to win not just a 1 play win or lose scenario.
Not even a long field goal he got 40 yards in 10 seconds and gave his kicker a 49 yarder
Rise up Atlanta
I'm a Chiefs fan and I just knew they were going for 2.... Sure glad they kicked it, but they would've got stopped anyway... And it was still 30 seconds and 3 timeouts left. Honestly the game should've been over with the previous drive, they always play conservative in a situation where they could've gotten the first down and ran the clock out. Don't know what the spread was but I bet Vegas made more money with a 6 point win than it would've made with a 7 point win....
Every week these fools talk about the Chiefs losing.
If TB gets the 2pt conversion, then KC kicks a FG and win. The only hope for TB was the XP, hope KC plays conservatively, then win the toss. With 3 timeouts and 30 seconds, Mahomes is getting into FG range.
You want the ball? Stop the offense.
KC would’ve had more urgency on offense if they were down by 1 with 27 Seconds left.
3. why would having KC simply getting into FG range in regulation be better odds than having KC score a TD in OT?????
It's the script, they have to stick to the script😂
Here’s the deal.
First, KC has stopped teams in this situation all year. Falcons, Raiders….
Second even if they scored the 2, they would have to kick off to KC with 27 seconds left and 3 timeouts with just a field goal to win the game.
What the Bucs were banking on was that 50/50 coin flip. Once they lost that, they knew they lost.
But the 50/50 coin flip is a better chance than scoring on that 2 pt play and better chance than giving Mahomes the ball with 27 seconds and 3 TOs and a chance to kick the field goal for the win.
In away they flip the coin twice and lost both times
Just proves my point; Todd Bowles IS AN AVERAGE HEAD COACH!!! Pour end of game management! I’m tired of hearing of Mahomes greatness. It’s Andy Reed’s genius play calling! KC is copying Patriots pattern of methodical and systematic play calling down the stretch!
A bunch of dummies thinking Mahomes can't gain 25/30 yards with 2 timeouts!! GTFOH
This is what the Chiefs do to the other team...
All Mahomo needs is thirteen seconds.
didn't they beat the chargers a few years ago in similar situation ?
Yeah the bills thought the exact same thing why did you ask Josh how that turned out
weird how the mega gamblers ont he show wanted them to go for it lol
If they went for it then mahommes wins it in 27 seconds and 3 time outs.... Chiefs would've played differently if they had to have it.....
30 sec remember 13 sec ????
DHOP IQ❤
Chiefs fan here. Let’s be honest, this is what legal, pervasive gambling has done to football. There will be much more of this. Soon, very soon, the NFL will become the WWE.
You're not a Chiefs fan. You're not a fan at all. You're no better than the haters, downplaying a team's success.
You're not a chiefs fan and we don't claim you
@@rainfire9258 Whoa! Slow down Tex. I've been a Chiefs fan since '63. Chiefs beat the Bucs. All this other stuff is just noise. But you can't tell me that gambling, which means money, is not going to impact a game or games now or at some point in the future. This is REAL money we're talking about. And we're talking about real people here. This is NOT fantasy football. Large amounts of real money bet this or that way will make some people want to influence the outcome of games. To say that can't or won't happen is to say there is no crime or there will never be any crime because you believe that just doesn't happen or can't happen.
@@Carl-nq7jk Dude, you sound like you're a kid. Look, take your meds and finish your homework. Come back when you understand football and life. Peace. Oh, tell mom hi.
😂😂 I liked the rules of original with sudden death. Then fans that were on the losing team side said Well…my team should have a chance to have the ball! So they changed the rules again. People we can’t keep changing the rules for the cry babies. It’s just a game, don’t hang me please I love football too. If ur on a team that loses the game take it. Especially Carton. 😢
Should've gone for the win. Bowles needs to go
lol. Fans like you are the worst…. You believe the media instead of thinking for yourself with that statement
@@Drewswaggy you know it's possible for people to have thoughts of their own, i'm sure there were LOTS of fans yelling this at their TV last night before "the media" said anything about it this morning
people seriously need to stop blindly crying about the media to cheaply validate themselves, because i promise you crying "media" doesn't make you a free independent thinker because this is the most parroted and blindly regurgitated statement that exists in the world today
Being up 1 and giving Mahomes 30 seconds, 3 timeouts, and 4 downs in every set of them to drive only 40 yards is not a win.
The Chiefs dynasty was built by the refs (faulty officiating). 💯
Yeah they did get a little help at the end
This chiefs team sucks. Don't at me. They were a good team before all the injuries but they need over time to beat the bucs? Ya they won't be undefeated for much longer
They don't care about being undefeated. They want the three-peat, and they just so happen to be undefeated while trying to achieve it.
@rainfire9258 They don't have a snow balls chance in he'll of repeating with that offense. They somehow regressed greatly from last year at left tackle play and receiving.
@@dylanflynn5846 from the most dropped passes from receivers last year to middle of the pack in that department this year? Yep sounds like regression to me. 😑
@rainfire9258 dropped passes is one stat. Look at the entire production of the passing attack. They basically swapped rashee rice with an over the hill Dhop from last years god awful receiving room.
Worst show
😂 the Bucs take a one point lead with 27 seconds remaining and Mahomes gets the ball back with three time outs and 25 yards for the field goal.. Chiefs still win like against Buffalo they had 13 seconds…
And don't forget Butker can kick 62 yard field goals..so Mahomes might not even need to get 25 yards.
