This. Going undefeated is meaningless feel-good material, if you have the playoffs cinched just rest your playmakers.

As a Chiefs fan, I agree we won't go undefeated. Buffalo and Pittsburgh could both beat us. Also, it seems every season we lose a game we have no business losing so look out for Cleveland, maybe Denver... The Chargers have the talent too.

He's not playing. It saddens me cause I am a Lions fan but take it from someone who had a similar fracture and surgery. I didn't get feeling back completely until 10-12 months after surgery. You know how hard it is to plant your foot and push off when your entire leg is numb and the only sensation you get is the feelings of pins and needles? It throws off your entire balance. I'm not the athlete Hutch is but I also didn't bullshit my way through rehab either. We shall see but if I was a betting man I would put my house on him not playing

If the Chiefs are locked in to the 1 seed by week 17, Reid won't play all his starters the last 2 games. That Steelers game in Pittsburgh after only 3 days off is just screaming "Mahomes injury". A three peat is way more important for the Chiefs than chasing a perfect season which the Pats already did, and lost in the SB afterwards.

By most metrics he has indeed been the worst starting QB in the NFL, other than Anthony Richardson. Shockingly similar guys actually. Great runners, cannons for arms, horrible decision making and accuracy.

The reason it's so hard to go undefeated is because if you're 15-0 and you have your starters playing a full game (or maybe at all) that's franchise malpractice. Plus you're usually playing teams desperately fighting for their playoff lives, so back ups vs starters giving it %110 effort.
Drake maye is absolutely playing better than Caleb Williams because Drake maye literally has zero help he’s literally dragging the team to being competitive. Caleb Williams has a gambit of wide receivers. Drake Maye is absolutely playing better than Caleb Williams. That is not even a question.

If the Bills drop one to the Chiefs at home, Brockman should ask the exact same opening question about the Chiefs going undefeated in the regular season again in a couple of weeks.
Caleb Williams is good. Very good, really. He'll still struggle at the Bears, because traditions matter.

Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels are by far the best QBs in this draft class. Drake Maye is a close 3rd I guess. Bo Nix is good for a rookie QB and was drafted by a coach that wants to use him in a way that utilizes what he is best at. If Bo Nix was on the Bears, Commanders, or Patriots he would not make it through the season. Saying Caleb is worse than Nix is a massive overreaction.
Chicago should have traded the pick.
@ I disagree I think they should have fired Eberflus and hired Ben Johnson as HC and Kliff Kingsbury as the new OC since he worked with Caleb in college. If you want to start over with a new franchise QB give him a new HC that can grow with him. Even better if you hire an OC that is familiar with him and has worked with him prior.

we can't critque the chiefs or it's disrespectful so the chiefs will never lose again until Mahomes retires they'll win the next 45 super bowls and the entire roster will be 1st ballot hall of famers. :)
IF the Chief's go 16-0, it will hurt them in the play-offs since they'll wind up at least making it look like they're playing for the win v. Denver and will be weaker in the play-offs. If that happens, I could so easily see them underperform the 2007 Patriots.
If they go 16-0, that'll be miraculous in a 17 game season
If KC wants the record of a threepeat, they will end up sitting some starters in the latter weeks to rest up for the playoff run. And, that will be the cause of them losing a game...or more and not go undefeated.
I think that even the Chiefs would admit that have been very lucky so far. They beat the injury ravaged Bucs in overtime is just the latest...

Luck? How many other teams do you think could’ve won every week with the injuries that they are dealing with? Starting running back top two receivers starting defensive end starting cornerback! as long as Pat Mahomes is the quarterback I’m not betting against them. They have the best coaches on both sides of the ball and the best quarterback on the planet, especially when it counts. With that said the Chiefs were also down. They’re too starting wide receivers and they’re starting running back! Luck has nothing to do with it.

Na, we always lose to a team we shouldn't be, so 1 or 2 losses against Vegas and Denver or 1 to Vegas and 1 to Carolina
We will probably lose to Buffalo (I love Allen, so I'm not too upset about it)

Why is it so impossible for you to put the blame where it belongs in Chicago? The coaching. This isn't a Caleb problem. This is a coaching problem. Caleb isn't failing, the entire team is. But y'all refused to blame Getsy either when he was proving every week to be the worst OC in the league last year. They never should have kept Flus. Wins may not be a QB stat, but they are a coaching one. And he's objectively terrible
