One of my favorite little details in this musical is how in Omigod You Guys, the Delta Nu sisters sing “if there ever was a perfect couple, this one qualifies, cause we love you guys” and Elle says “no, I love you guys.” but in the finale, they sing the same line about Elle and Emmett, and they respond with “no, WE love you guys.” Emmett has obviously put effort into getting to know Elle’s friends (unlike someone else Elle dated) and now they’re Emmett’s friends too.
25:44 I love how in this reprise when everyone sings, "we love you guys," Emmett responds with Elle, "We love you guys!" It's the perfect twist to the opening Oh my God You Guys where Elle is alone singing the response "I love you guys." Just shows that she and Emmett are connected in a way she and Warner never were.
This!!! I also love that emmett says he loves them, like it shows how he's actually made an effort to get to know elle's friends and has grown a bond with them that warner never bothered to do :>>
A little fun fact: Vivian quoted Shakespeare in the graduation and, a few years later, Emmett's actor, Christian Borle, won a Tony for playing Shakespeare in Something Rotten.
My school is doing legally blonde (as i have yapped about many times) and the cast list just came out and I got Enid!! This is huge for me because I've always been in the ensemble in tons of musicals before, and now I have the role I auditioned for :D thanks for such a fun series and I'm glad yall had fun
fun story! I've been in this show twice, and in one of those productions my big sister and I got to tag team the role of Paulette 😂 it was at the children's theater we attended throughout adolescence and had since both graduated from, but they sometimes brought back alumni for older roles, so they offered Paulette to my sister. problem was, it was a summer production and 3/4 of the rehearsals took place during the day, and she had a 9-5 job. so they brought me in as her understudy, so I could go to the rehearsals for her, take notes, and report back to her on blocking and choreo etc. and since I did so much of the rehearsing, they decided it was only fair if I got more shows than understudies usually get (one, lol) so I ended up with all weekday matinees and the Sunday night shows (6 in total, to her 8 or so). I also had my own roles, though, as part of the greek chorus and the "it's a gift from me to Elle" saleswoman, and I still played those parts on my Paulette nights, so I was quick changing and modifying backstage tracks on the fly, and it's the most fun I've ever had doing theater.
I think my favorite lines in this whole show is "I thank you one and all, the ones who thought I'd fall. Who taught he how to fail. Who helped me to prevail." Honestly, we so rarely acknowledge that learning to fail is valuable. That we can glean lessons from those who have the worst intentions for us. Its informed how I approach teaching and dealing with younger people in general. I often talk about my failures and even make a point to fail in front of them. I think its important for people and especially kids to see that the world doesn't end when you fail. Its okay to try again or try something new... And that adults are not infallible. We're trying our best, just like them.
A few years ago a friend was visiting and we were both fans of musicals so we thought, "I wonder if there are any decent recordings of a musical on youtube?" and stumbled onto Legally Blonde. I'd seen the movie and thought it was cute so figured I'd be sitting through a mid-tier adaptation... ...by the end I was texting everyone I knew and telling them they had to watch this absolute Master Piece. My favorite musical is 'Fiddler on the Roof' for various reasons, but in one night this thing shot up to my top 5, and it hasn't moved, once.
To answer your question at the beginning: I was a huge fan already, the musical is what introduced me to your channel! Will be staying now since I fell in love with your channel
If you look closely at Warner before the part when they say say we love you guys, as he’s walking off-stage he points to Elle and Emmett smiles and says “you guys” character growth people.
Legally blonde was the first full theatre production I remember watching in person, and it made me want to pursue music and acting. I still have it to thank for making me a proud theater nerd. Much love to you both and to Ireland ❤
I am usually throughoughtly annoyed with romance subplots and the need of every media to have the main character being coupled up. That being said, imo Elles proposal is PERFECT. It mirrors Omigod you Guys while showing off Elles character development in the interim - she is not waiting for a man to propose anymore, she is just gonna do it herself screw societal expectations (the same ones described so much in "Omigod you Guys"), Emmets reaction is a straight up callback and "if there ever was a perfect couple, this one qualifies" gets reinterpreted. 10/10 no notes
Way way back as a wee tween on early youtube, I could barely take two steps without seeing a Gay or European amv and for the longest time that was the only song I knew from the show. I didn't know where it came from at the time, but I knew it by heart lol. I had always been a broadway nut but somehow I didn't discover the Legally Blonde musical until my late 20s when I was moving cross-country and "Take It Like A Man" was played numerous times on the radio station we had on (it played like 5 times in a couple hours, it was haunting me). And when I say it couldn't have come at a better time for me. I was a little baby trans™️ and hearing the "That's the best part, the outside is new, but now it reflects what's already in you." Hits me in the heart every time. Got moved in at the new place, looked up the musical, watched the pro-shot, and immediately fell in love. It's such an incredible show.
My intro to the musical: I saw the show on Broadway back in the day with the OBC cast! I already was a fan of the movie but truly think the musical improves upon it in a few ways (while still missing a few things from the film). Loved all the insights here!!!!
Fun fact Richard H Blake (Warner) was Fiyero the 1st time I ever saw Wicked and he’s the reason why I initially listened to this soundtrack in the 1st place many years ago. But I also love this show so much, 100% agree with Mortius it’s a comfort show and I loved watching y’all’s journey through it.
I don’t think I’d ever heard a single song from this show until you guys reacted to it. I now constantly sing songs from it in my head and it’s one of my go to musicals to listen while I’m at work.
I watched the musical randomly earlier this year and absolutely fell in love with it. It was my roman empire for a solid month and I absolutely got ecstatic when you mentioned yall were going to watch this musical. I'm sad it's ending but j can't wait to see what yall react to next!!
1:14 I am a Legally Blonde the musical newbie! I had heard snippets of a few songs before, but besides that I had never seen any of it! I’ve loved getting to explore this musical with both of you. Can’t wait to see what you guys will do next!
Same. I’ve loved watching through with them. Now that it’s done I’m going to have to go off and watch the whole musical start to finish (just wanted to finish it with the guys first 😊).
1:00 I saw a professional production of Legally Blonde at an outdoor amphitheater next to a zoo. It was incredible. At the end of There! Right There! someone ran across the stage with an enormous pride flag. It probably wasn’t the right show to bring my homophobic grandfather to, but he didn’t press me about cheering so loud when Carlos and Nikos kissed. Ireland has been one of my favorite theatre songs ever since.
1:12 legally blonde was one of my first musicals and is still one of my favourites but this series inspired me to share it with one of my friends and she loved it and is still thinking about it
Hi, thanks a lot for your videos on "Legally Blonde") I was already a big fan of this musical - in fact, I came across your channel precisely because of the first video with your reactions. Mortius' words: "It's not the BEST musical in the world, but my FAVORITE" coincided so exactly with how I feel about Legally Blonde that I stayed 🤭🤭🤭 And it was your reactions and discussions that introduced me to Epic and WOW, thank you for giving me a broken heart!! 💔💔💔 All the best to you two, thank you very much again!
So grateful to this series! I knew (and adored) the film, and just assumed the musical was going to be a terrible remake. After watching your first video I was curious and went to watch the whole thing, now Im obsessed 😅 The soundtrack was quickly added to my morning commute playlist and I can't stop listening to it. I love some of the changes they made from the film, Elle and Emmett's relationship has so much more depth! That line "Did you actually think I was gonna let you get away" makes me melt every time I hear it 😭 So yeah, thank you both for introducing me to the show 😁
I've seen the movie and musical multiple times before, but I love the reaction and analysis you guys provide. It adds so much more and makes me really think about the writers' intent!
I'm glad I decided to watch this musical along with you even though I've never seen it before. It's not something I could watch on my own, so seeing Mortius' absolute glee and everything that came out of Casper during this reaction/analysis really made me fall in love with this musical. I hope to get to re-watch it with family or friends one day.
Casper pointing out that this is the first musical he's seen with a truly happy ending has had me in a crisis all day. Why have I ever noticed that most musicals have bittersweet endings? I literally can't think of another besides Mamma Mia that ends happily.
I was a huge fan of Legally Blonde before these reactions and a huge fans of both of you, so I was so excited when you started reacting!!!! Literally vibrating with happiness!!!!!!
Omg I loved this musical for so long. Honestly I cried the last two episodes during the hype songs for no reason but pure love for the show and this style of content
I’m old enough to have watched Legally Blond the movie when it first came out, and I really enjoyed that. I have absolutely LOVED watching the musical now, especially with both Morteus’s and Casper’s input ❤
One thing I learned that I found amazing is in “oh my god” when the delta nu’s said we love you guys about Elle and Warner, Elle says “I love you guys” but when the we love you guys is said in the finale song about Emmett and Elle they say “WE love you guys” I love how Elle can only speak for herself when warners connection to the deltas is concerned but with Emmett they share the same opinion
I have loved this show for a long time, know every song by heart, have watched many different versions of it, but you still made me love it even more with all your insights
WAIT WAIT MORTIUS your favourite movie is TREASURE PLANET??? I was assigned disney themed ballgown for an assignment in my fashion design course and I picked a Treasure Planet themed dress! I'm making it these days! I couldn't find ANY creators who were excited about that movie and I kept hoping someone would share my excitement! Aaaaaah! 😂
The song 'there right there' is what started it all i already watched theatre stuff throughout my childhood but this what really kicked off my musical hyperfixation X3
I don’t know if there’s a quality recording of it, but you guys NEED to react to Big Fish, the Musical. It’s my favorite of all time and never fails to hit me in the feels, you would both love it!
Pre this series I’d watched the pro shot way back when because my high school did Legally Blonde my senior year and I’ve LOVED it ever since, I was so happy when y’all started this! (I’ve also watched…maybe 1 or 2 AMV’s to There, Right There!)
This is my first time watching this, and it has been a treat. When I started watching at first, I wasn't a big fan, but now I can see why you love it. Mind officially changed.
to answer the how familiar was i question: This is actually also MY favorite musical so i was incredibly excited to see that you guys were doing it! It means so so much to me and i love getting to see more people get to experience it (I have also forced all of my friends to watch it as well)
Laurie here (shared account) You wanted to know what we thought of this show before we watched your reaction. I first saw this show as a high school production, and I knew nothing about it--had never seen the original movie, never listened to the score. It is a testament to the high quality of the material that I loved the show even though the actual production was really bad (I usually give high school shows a lot of grace but this one was really terrible). AND it has to be good to get me to admire a sorority girl--I am not a big fan of Greek life. I got the CD and we have seen several other better productions since. Fabulous show! I really enjoyed watching you two talk about it. Great job --I look forward to your future collaborations!
To answer your question Mortius: I have seen and adored the film and read the book (yes the book came out before the movie) and this was the exception to the book being better because my god that book was dreadful. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Before this series I’d only heard Chip On My Shoulder and it’s been wonderful to go through it with you and Casper. I can’t wait to see what you react to next!
I saw a touring production when I was in middle school and completely fell in love with it! I showed this pro-shot to my dad and he loved it! Fast forward a decade or so and my college did it during my undergrad years. So fun and I loved the reactions, your faces had me rofl at times!
To answer your question Mortius,I had come across the musical on yt and put in my watch later playlist, and then y’all started to react to it and I was like,”oh okay guess I’ll watch it with them lol” but I did see the movie when I was little…I think
"Omg, you guys" has been permanently added to my vocabulary thanks to this series. It's been absolutely wonderful, I don't think I would've checked out Legally Blonde by myself, but now I just have to, thanks for pushing me to try new things ❤
I seen the movie a while ago, and funnily enough the fact it was a musical made me watch it! I only knew a few of the songs from the musical, and my highschool was going to do a play before a ceetain virius happened. So I never properly got to watch the musical until now! It made me appreciate an already good movie with an even better musical adaptation. So thank you :)
OMIGOD!! I've loved this series! Before this series I had already watched Legally Blonde, maybe three times, saw the most recent US tour live, and then last year I played Professor Callahan in my school's production of Legally Blonde and I had lots of fun (despite not being able to do any choreo and *that* scene...)! I've been absolutely AMAZED by Casper's ability to notice these motifs throughout the show that weren't obvious to me or probably most people that were already familiar with the show. This has been a lovely journey that both of you have taken us on, so thank you for that!!
Legally Blonde is also my all time favorite musical! I was a little bit nervous to watch when the first video in this series popped up, but yall won me over almost immediately. Listening to Casper talk about the little themes and subtext in the music has only deepened my love and appreciation for this incredible show!! Thanks for making these videos, guys!! 🥰
Honestly before you guys started this series I didn't know I could watch it on TH-cam. I love the movie and had seen the song "There right there" but when you said it's on TH-cam I paused and watched the proshot first so I wouldn't miss anything when you guys watched and reacted.
Legally blonde is one of my faves! I saw this version first on YT, and saw it live this yr at my local theater! It was fun seeng the 2024 updates to the scripts/references
i first watched this show in preparation when my school put on the jr version (i played warner). it was in singapore so you can imagine how loud the cheering was when our elle said the chewing gum line
I had watched the proshot and listened to the musical a few years ago but hadnt touched it in quite a while until y'all started this series, and I've definitely developed a deeper appreciation of the show, and now my car playlist is full of more of the songs lol
I watched this show for the first time this year, about 4 months before these reactions started. Chip on my shoulder was my 5th most listened to song according to my recap💓💓
Before this series I did know of the musical and had seen parts of it but I never finished it (I knew gay and European and the ending of so much better and I'm pretty sure I heard Ireland in a theatre compilation I watched years ago) and this series made me finally watch the show in full and I ADORE it so much (I still don't know why it took me so long as the movie is one of my favourites of all time)
I love this musical so much - it’s just so funny and yet inspiring at the same time! I always tear up in so much better and legally blonde reprise and listen to it when I need a bit of a lift or when I’m feeling tired. I love you guys’ reaction, it allowed me to enjoy this brilliant piece again, so thank you so much!
I saw a local production of "Legally Blonde" before I had seen the original Broadway musical on TH-cam. I absolutely love the musical much more than the original movie! You guys did an awesome job with the reaction videos! 😁👍🏻
I had never watched the Legally Blonde movies or the musical before this but I saw that you guys were reacting to it so I watched all of them so I could binge all your videos.
Legally blonde was already my favorite musical! I got recommended your first video reaction for the show and that's how I started watching your channel 😊
I agree that this musical is a good comfort show. The soundtrack alone has gotten me through a lot of my toughest moments in life. Y'all are amazing keep doing what you're doing. Already halfway through the Hamilton playlist. ☺️
I didn’t know this show existed before you reacted to it here. I didn’t watch your reactions until three episodes were out. But then I watched those three videos in one sitting and found and watched the rest of the play that evening to see the rest of it. Thanks for the recommendation. I enjoyed this show a lot.
It was technically my first show because they performed it at the main highschool of our district. I was in 6th grade but we got to take a trip to the high school to watch a quick snippet of the musical and I liked it so much that my family and I got tickets to go and watch and it was so good!! Was 12 then, 19 now, but it’s still one of my favorites
I knew this musical existed, but i thought it was kind of a weird premise. So definitely, you guys got me invested into this and now recommending it to my music-loving friends. Thank you so much, Mortius and Casper. Open Arms Rules!
At 7:01 we get a very quirky instrumental reprise for Whipped Into Shape (when they're reviewing the workout footage. 'Meet our brand new client, Brooke')! Our hosts didn't bring it up 'cause it's a small thing, so I thought I would!
This series definitely got me into the entire stage show. I had heard the entire soundtrack before cause my sister really likes this musical, and I love There Right There, but overall didn't get hooked into the musical until you started this series and Mortius said it's your favorite I knew I had to give it another chance where I actually pay attention to the story and it's definitely a really fun musical!
Before this series, I've known Legally Blond for years and loved it but haven't listened to it for awhile. Watching your reactions made me relisten to this musical and enlightened me to some things I missed
It’s actually was my first time seeing the whole musical (although my brother did show me like the first few songs and I really liked them but never watched the whole thing). And I loved going on this journey with both of you guys. It is always so much fun watching you two go though something with the dynamic you guys have (of Casper being Casper and Mortius loving what he brings to these things).
I put off watching the Legally Blonde musical for years, but after enjoying your other reaction videos, I decided to finally give it a watch so I could follow along with this series. TBH, the musical didn’t really do much for me on first watch, I can’t figure out why exactly. Like, it’s good, I can see why it’s so beloved, it just didn’t appeal to me. Watching your reactions and analysis definitely helped me better appreciate the music. I don’t know if I’ll revisit the show any time soon, but I’m glad you guys did this and finally gave me and many others the push to give this musical a try.
I'm late- But I'll answer Mortius' question! I heard 'There, Right there!' And only that song from the Musical and Absolutely adored it!! This Musical has been an amazing journey and it's one of my very first Musicals too! I can't wait to see more from you two
Yep, this made me watch the musical for the very first time but I knew a couple of the songs from how popular they were so long ago! It really was amazing seeing this for the first time.
I was already a big legally blonde fan before you covered it but I loved hearing all of your takes on the plots and music I didn’t pick up before now ❤
Before this series, I had been in a production of legally blonde as Elle's mom, the store manager in omigod (was not qualified for the job) a perfume girl in take it like a man (love that song so much), and a Harvard Student.
Thanks for joining us for Legally Blonde.
You're so welcome. If I had a complaint, it'd be that it wasn't longer. See you amazing gents for the next series!
Thank you for bringing us along because this was DELIGHTFUL
Plot Twist: Casper is actually psychic and knows everything. He only throws out nat 1s to keep us from figuring it out.
One of my favorite little details in this musical is how in Omigod You Guys, the Delta Nu sisters sing “if there ever was a perfect couple, this one qualifies, cause we love you guys” and Elle says “no, I love you guys.” but in the finale, they sing the same line about Elle and Emmett, and they respond with “no, WE love you guys.” Emmett has obviously put effort into getting to know Elle’s friends (unlike someone else Elle dated) and now they’re Emmett’s friends too.

thanks for such a fun series and I'm glad yall had fun
Congratulations! That's a great part!
Congratulation
Congrats, thats awesome!!!
Omg congrats!! I’m sure you’ll do incredibly!!!
So exciting! Congratulations, have fun 😊
Lil sad it's ending but thrilled to have been along for the ride 💖

4:39 funfact time fellas, theres an all woman run lawfirm in Orlando, FL called Legally Pink Law
The way I cackled when Casper said she had found her way 😂😂
To answer your question at the beginning: I was a huge fan already, the musical is what introduced me to your channel! Will be staying now since I fell in love with your channel
Same!! 💗💙
Casper: “What the f#*% is “The Apprentice”? “
That’s so great, we love Casper!

Best thing of this channel is to watch your friendship grow, omg you guys!
I'm gonna miss looking forward to a new part from this show, but boy am I looking forward to what's next!

I always wished they kept in the fact that Warner was waitlisted and that her and Vivian became super close.
Previous experience: I was Brooke in a community production and love this show so much!! This and Mamma Mia are my comfort shows/movies❤❤
I've seen the movie and musical multiple times before, but I love the reaction and analysis you guys provide. It adds so much more and makes me really think about the writers' intent!

0:45 I didn’t even know this musical existed so I’ve just been listening along as the videos came out 😂
I’m old enough to have watched Legally Blond the movie when it first came out, and I really enjoyed that.
So excited!
Not a patreon member (cuz I can't afford it) but I can always tell the episodes you shoot in one day because of camera angles and stuff 😅
It means so so much to me and i love getting to see more people get to experience it (I have also forced all of my friends to watch it as well)
Thank you all for making me discover it!
Funny thing this is not the only thing that is ending. Epic will soon end too
Laurie here (shared account) You wanted to know what we thought of this show before we watched your reaction.
This was awesome. Thank you so much, guys
You inspired me to watch the whole thing and it's one of my favorites now. Thanks
I saw a touring production when I was in middle school and completely fell in love with it! I showed this pro-shot to my dad and he loved it! Fast forward a decade or so and my college did it during my undergrad years. So fun and I loved the reactions, your faces had me rofl at times!
I was a kid when the movie came out, and in my twenties when I saw the musical for the first time.
To answer your question Mortius,I had come across the musical on yt and put in my watch later playlist, and then y’all started to react to it and I was like,”oh okay guess I’ll watch it with them lol” but I did see the movie when I was little…I think
This has been amazing and I’m going to listen to this soundtrack over and over!
I'd only seen the film and heard there right there once about two weeks before you patreon Premier 😂
I had seen it before but seeing y’all’s analysis always gives a new look 👍
Huge fan of this musical! I was so excited when I heard you were doing this series!
I was a huge fan already and had watched this specific version about a dozen times. And you still managed to show me new things about it so... ❤
Legally blonde is one of my faves! I saw this version first on YT, and saw it live this yr at my local theater! It was fun seeng the 2024 updates to the scripts/references
I legit watched it when you uploaded the first video, and became obsessed immediately👍🏻 it was always amazing but i love it ever more now
i first watched this show in preparation when my school put on the jr version (i played warner). it was in singapore so you can imagine how loud the cheering was when our elle said the chewing gum line
I had watched the proshot and listened to the musical a few years ago but hadnt touched it in quite a while until y'all started this series, and I've definitely developed a deeper appreciation of the show, and now my car playlist is full of more of the songs lol
This was delightful. Thanks for this reaction series!
I watched this show for the first time this year, about 4 months before these reactions started. Chip on my shoulder was my 5th most listened to song according to my recap💓💓
this series gave me a whole new hyperfixation which caused me to make like 5 drawings 👍🏻
i’ve a huge fan for years, i watched it bc of christian borle and love every minute of it
Before this series I did know of the musical and had seen parts of it but I never finished it (I knew gay and European and the ending of so much better and I'm pretty sure I heard Ireland in a theatre compilation I watched years ago) and this series made me finally watch the show in full and I ADORE it so much (I still don't know why it took me so long as the movie is one of my favourites of all time)
I love this musical so much - it’s just so funny and yet inspiring at the same time! I always tear up in so much better and legally blonde reprise and listen to it when I need a bit of a lift or when I’m feeling tired. I love you guys’ reaction, it allowed me to enjoy this brilliant piece again, so thank you so much!
I knew everything, every song, everything
It's my favorite musical too❤❤❤
Found this channel thanks to Legally Blonde! Then watched your individual channels as well! Can’t wait to see what’s next!! 💗💙
The ending always puts a big smile on my face
I didn't know about this musical at all before this series. I gad seen only clips if the film. I would love to see it live.
Also, “WTF is The Apprentice” had me dying, omg!
My school is doing Legally Blonde and I'm playing Warner! This musical is amazing
I'm late-
But I'll answer Mortius' question!
