Prince Charles, my dears, appears to have a deep sense within him that the match with Diana isn't quite right. However, he finds it challenging to halt its inevitable progression towards the wedding altar.
Amazing how when the machinery takes over, the two marital parties involved are helpless to stop anything.
I'm amazed at how an entire family (barring the Queen Mother and Dickie) knew this match was completely wrong but went ahead with the wedding anyway. We don't know if this is really what happened, but the actual royal family must have felt Diana's incompatibility with Charles.
Also Diana’s own family bares some responsibility. If Diana was young and green in judgment, they were not. However, not the first nor the last people to end up in wrong relationship. Tons of people do it daily and a whole lot of them never get out of it. It’s that primitive Anglo-Saxon hunger for scandals and news that fueled all the events afterwards. Something we don’t really see in other countries even though it happens everywhere.
Truth is, marriage was not that wrong based on royal Tradition. It was the perfect match. Diana, virgin, coming from an ancient noble family. Young and in perfect shape to bare children. This was exactly what the crown needed. Many women accepted this kind of loveless marriage in exchange for status and fame. Also accepted the cheating. Apart from very few bright examples, many Princeses and Queens have been cheated and it was accepted. The real Innovation in diana was that she wanted a real marriage, a real family, something that would fullfill her needs. Charles taught he gave her a lot (she was the most famous woman in the world), but this was simply not enough for her
From my understanding, with what I have read. There was a general sense of they all believed Diana would grow into the role.

There were accounts from close friends that they did intervene. Dickie wanted Charles to marry his second cousin Amanda Knatchbull and discouraged Charles from pursuing Camilla, telling him "this cannot happen". The Queen Mother did want Charles to pursue one of the Spencer sisters, hence him dating Sarah and eventually marrying Diana.
Don't marry someone you don't love kids, it wont end well.
I love how the Queen Mother is the only one who is happy. Like there's this smug satisfaction after she shouted at everyone earlier about forcing the marriage to go through. Even though everyone else, especially Margo and Anne, are looking upon it with dread. Also, Margo has a cushion that says "it's not easy being a princess" in the background.
Never seen a bride look as beautiful as emma Corrin
Diana herself
I wish we could turn back in time and tell her to run away. Poor young Diana walked into her deathtrap. 😢
Right there with you.
One good thing came from the marriage and that’s William and his family, including and especially Catherine.
And Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lillibet
Not a great reason for such an obviously bad match.
@@marshallguy301ermm no. They caused the queen nothing but grief in her final months with their bs
How beautiful Diana was on this day as she walked into years of sadness and tragedy. She was entrapped. Charles was a total selfish fool. She did try to stop it. She knew. History now.
This was supposed to be a Cinderella moment for her 🫤
At minute 3:42, Diana looks about to burst into tears.
How happy he would have been if Camilla was going to be his bride.
If the Queen Mother hadn’t meddled into his life. The RF hatched a plan to force Andrew Parker Bowles to propose to Camilla by announcing it suddenly to their surprise, just to get Anne away from Andrew.
Love is the strongest emotion, hence the saying everything is fair in love and war.
No, he would have been equally bored.
Remember that Camilla was married by then.
Poor Diana 😢
Poor Charles he was force to get married her eyes was so sad with tears
4:29 Charles looks like he's unhappy 😂😂😂🤣, in real life he is happy
What they did to her makes me sick
What they did to her? What about what she did to them? She did not know her husband at all, and just wanted a fairy tale, but guess what? Real life is not a fariy tale
@@LouiseAndersen1991agreed, plus, Charles actually stoped seeing Camilla after they got married, until Diana began cheating, then he started seeing her again
This is why I prefer real life to Fairy Tales.
Why? Real life is rubbish! Lol
in come countries arranged marriages are normal
*some
this is forced marriage not arranged, theres a difference.
When the couple arrived in Balmoral to complete their honeymoon, the family called in a psychiatrist to deal with Diana's behavior.
Elizabeth wears two strings of pearls but the Queen Mother wears three...
What a sad bunch of people. Everyone in on the lie.
The high point of this vid is Diana and her. long train walking to the door.
And Charles will.neber be given credit for what he was willing to do.foe the monarchy
He wasn`t willing to do it. Mummy told him to do it.
*never

He didn't try very hard.
He called Camilla every
of his honeymoon. He
spent his days reading
on the deck or the royal
yacht. He left Diana
by herself most of the
time.
Charles heart always belong to Camilla, Diana new that, im surprised she said I do at all. The only good thing that came from that marriage is William and Harry
cant they become a king/queen without marrying anyone?what about Queens other kids, did they marry aristocratic?
It looked like they were going to a funeral...or execution.
Sad AF.
