As for the firearms, whether they originated in the US or were smuggled in is dependent on the type. Automatics, outside of certain weapons(pre-1968), can't be bought or imported so those would be smuggled in. Semi-automatics could be obtained and stored easily enough as they are plentiful.

You're way too obsessed with the action than the story which carries weight in this franchise.
The idea behind the slow start isn't just to show the bad guys. It's to portray rambo as a guy who's come home. Wanted peace. Tried to live a different life after so long. And he's denied. The whole build up is meant to magnify the power of the ending.
He's not in the war anymore. He's home. But evil still exists. They did the army thing in the last movie .
The film is super impactful and wants to go out with a meaningful bang. Because rambo isn't in a war anymore. He's home. Thus the plot needs to make sense.
And no man. It's not using Mexicans as a plot point. I'm so tired of people saying this like the rt critics. Calling it a trump movie because it shows the reality of Mexico.
Rambo is home. Living in the south. It's ideal to go there. It's showing a great side of Mexicans who are being victims of bad people. Nothing to do with nationality. Bad people are everywhere. And rambo won't stand for it.
I think you're all missing the subtext of what the film tries to get across.
It's much deeper. And it's because it's the end of a franchise. And it should be too. Because the original rambo emphasised heart and impact as well over mindless action which the sequels became.
They wanted the action to be not only epic but also meaningful. Satisfying. And they accomplished it with flying colors. Not just due to the gore. But because we've established these people are scum.
    Just like 2008.

They didn't kill her for motivation, they killed her to show that he can never have/find peace, nothing good can happen for him without bad things happening, he's perpetually a tragic character. It's a Wolverine story for Rambo. It's the emotional crux of the whole film when she dies as hes explaining what raising her has meant to him. He cannot have a happy ending, it would toss away the tragedy the series has always represented, but it was still executed as a nice surprise. You don't expect a movie that apes off Taken to have the hero fail. And he did fail, it was his failure/actions that put her closer to death sooner, he wasn't being tactical enough and "Rambo-ing" in with his rage backfired on him. If he had infiltrated them more tactically, it could've been different.

I can see why Alex and AJ weren't thrilled with the movie, but because I actually emphasized with the niece a little more than they did I felt worse about her death than they did. Yes, going to Mexico alone to meet a douche bag to learn why he made a douchey decision wasn't a smart idea. Especially when people that know him better than she did told her not to bother. But it wasn't totally unreasonable for her to want answers. And OH BOY did she get em'. She should have asked Rambo to come with her. I get that she's not a baby, but she REALLY wasn't prepared for that trip. No fucking way.
But she didn't deserve to be betrayed by a trashy ass supposed "friend" and sold into sex slavery where she spent the last four days of her life being drugged and raped. She wasn't a vapid, rebellious bimbo like the daughter from Taken, or a gold-digging skank like her mother (God, I'm glad she died in Taken 3. She REALLY got what was coming to her). If anything, Rambo should have killed the "friend" and the "father" for their roles in the niece's demise. I'm with OJ. I give it a 7. I do wish that Rambo had gotten a better ending though. Poor guy...

The last 20 minutes was probably where the most of the good thing start to happen which suck because I would like for it to be longer and for the bad guy to bring more men in with him. People complain about Rambo: Last Blood being Home Alone but can you blame him? He know, he is facing off against god knows how many armed men so he had to used that to his advantage. Also, I loved how the armed men got a taste of the Vietnam War in a very satisfying passion. That's what it starting to feel like to be at Vietnam during the war.

They examine films to the point of ruining the enjoyment of the film itself.
Big Stallone fan and here is my honest opinion. It seemed to end pretty quickly. Maybe I was just so into it that time passed fast. I did expect more, and also noticed the flash flood scene at the start was not in the theatrical version shown on the UK. So that’s about 10 mins gone from the film.
I wish joe wouldn’t keep using the term murdered. He did exactly what anybody would do in those situations that had the the skills of Rambo. You would do the same thing. I thought Stallone came across as very powerful and Intimidating in this Rambo. Keep the political shit out of this and focus on what’s going on in the film. It’s straight forward and to the point.
I actually don’t know how I feel about it thought as I came out of the movie feeing kind of flat. I guess I feel like it ended to soon and I wanted a bit more action, none the less I enjoyed it and it was pretty damn good. I was disappointed there wasn’t more bow action as I really expected to see him use his signature weapon more. It was great seeing Rambo talk more and seeing his connection with his niece. These parts really make the film quite different to the others seeing him happy and talkative, but nobody seems to be talking about that.
