  • For the Xbox Wireless Controller, "next-gen" just means "the next step." Small changes make notable improvements without reinventing the gamepad.
IGN's Xbox Series X controller review covers our first impressions, controller comparison between the Xbox Series X controller and the Xbox One controllers, button layouts, and the Xbox Series X controller's performance while playing next-gen games. We also take a look at the Xbox Series X share button, button remapping, controller latency, and more. Stick around to IGN for more next-gen game reviews.

I don't understand the push for an internal battery. Xbox sells a "play and charge" kit which uses a rechargeable battery. On other controllers with an internal battery you either have to buy a new controller when the battery dies or take it apart to replace it. Plus, with an xbox controller, if your rechargeable battery dies in the middle of a heated gaming session you can throw in some AA's if you want and continue playing wirelessly instead of being tethered via usb.

Really wish IGN and outlets like them would get over the Microsoft choosing to let consumers use batteries narrative. From the beginning it's been about "having options" and personal preference. Internal batteries only have so much of a life time before they don't last as long anymore and you eventually have to get another controller. If you're a player that has a favorite controller that you love playing with then you're out of luck when that day comes VS if you have options to use batteries/battery pack (or even wired if you choose) then you can essentially keep your favorite controller for years longer with no worries.

  • @jamescartier8728

You can disable it in the settings. I bet the vibration / feedback is the first thing most people disable on the PS5 controller.

@@Deyss thats not what was said, todd repeated phil spencer by saying' they will be exclusive on a case by case basis" and what he actually said "its hard to imagine that bethesda games will be exclusive", people are taking it way out of context, hes saying its hard to imagine, which it is, doesnt make it untrue, thats why he repeated phil spencers exact words, they already have a plan and theres a plan to make most of the new catalog exclusive. Thats the point of the purchase to bolster gamepass library.

@@MrShokzZ I mean saying it's hard to imagine, taken in the literal sense, is basically saying that this is unlikely to occur? But knowing the egregious nature of Bethesda, I'm almost certain that they wouldn't cut out a large-demographic of their income-source of cash cows on different platforms, however, only time will tell.
