EXCELLENT overview on the best CB base ever made. I have two of these (have had 4 over 20 years). This and the original Cobra 148GTL (the mobile version of this radio for our readers) are the best CBs made. The receive on these is bar none the best of any CB, ever. It's better than many well known amateur rigs as well. In today's day and age of General Lee mobiles and Galaxy 2547 bases, it's refreshing to see there are still those who would rather run these gems.
very nice video..you make want to set up my radios again..lol...I have a nice Cobra 142 base..when I turn the volume knob..theres a real loud scratching sound out of the speaker..any idea's how to cure?..
If your words and title of your video when not cover up what you're showing us we might be able to know what radio we have if the back badge has been taken off I'm trying to figure out if it's Taiwan Japan or a Philippines radio somebody remove the back badging off of the radio

If people would just keep their fingers out of them they are the best radio ever made. If you want to monkey with a radio for CB get a Yaesu FT 101 and add the 11 meter Crystal but leave the Cobra radios alone.
I've owned one of these Cobra 2000's and I kick myself in the ass for getting rid of it here, thse radios are damn good for sure, would love to find one here

only thing not work on it receiver light the burn out real quick on 2000gtl but other that my still work need fix counter some time go to 28 hmz it might bad chip in counter

Steve chances are good that the contol is worn out ( l had 2 142s same prob) a little WD-40 on it
