You can but remember it’s going to add thickness side file my acrylic thinner than it is right now if you’re going to apply conversion method on top! 🙌🏼👌🏼🤩💅🏻💖✨
I personally think that the conversion gel came out better then the resin. The blend looks better to me! But I'm still going to try both!
Can you do acrylic and then just use the dip for the ombre too?
You can but make sure your acrylic nails is thinner than normal because that’s like poor will add thickness.🙌🏼👌🏼😊😉💖✨💅🏻

Acrylic powders are milled different so cover pink and white acrylic will not absorb.

Ultimate finish gel can’t turn yellow when it comes out of the light. It does have leasing agents in it that it will totally go away. Definitely within a couple hours it never stays yellow.

Just discovered YN. Love this channel so far! Very new to dip powder in general and not a pro. I just really like doing my nails. I usually do gel on myself. What would you say would be the advantage to using the powder with the gel vs the resin? The resin system appears to be faster and both results are beautiful. I'm trying to figure out what to get. I have active length nails.
Slickpour with conversion gel offers a little bit more flexibility than resin if that is what you or your client prefer.
If I were to add on some nail art on top of this, would it be before or after putting on the top coat?
It would be a personal preference and possibly depend on what kind of art you are doing. If it's hand painted designs, some techs prefer to work over the filed surface, while some prefer to work over a top coated surface. If it's a glitter application etc, you would apply that in with your top coat.

You would treat it like if you’re putting nail art on a gel or acrylic now. The same way but I would definitely gel topcoat it. 🙌🏼😉👌🏼😊💅🏻🤩

You could. Almost anything sticks to the sticky layer of gel! It does come out a little lighter but it’s still pretty. 💖

Can you use the conversion gel with acrylic powders as well? Or just with slickpours?
Acrylic powder isn't as fine as dip powder so it tends to look splotchy if used with conversion.

Can you use protein bond with resin or is it strictly for gel and acrylic and monomer?
No, you cannot use protein bond with the resin method.
It has its own prep and the base doesn't mix well with protein bond.
What if you don’t have mani-q cleansers, would alcohol be okay to use to wipe?
We recommend using the ManiQ Cleanse as this is designed to fully remove the tacky surface without over-drying the nail. If you use plain alcohol, this may not completely remove the tacky surface.

What does the conversion base and top coat do for the nail
It absorbs the powder differently than regular base and top so you can use our slickpour power this way.

You can definitely use a gel top coat to finish the nails. The traditional system has a resin top coat for people who either choose to not use a curing lamp or have allergic reactions etc to gel products.
Is conversion gel that same as regular gel? What is resin? It looked like dip system. Is the same thing? I’ve been dipping for 3 years and gel for about 1 year… and I’ve never heard of these before. Thank you!

What are the benefits of using conversion gel method vs resin?
Conversion Gels tend to be a little more flexible whereas the resin tends to be more firm.
FOR THE RESIN NAIL IF I CHOSE TO PROTEIN BON "BEFORE " GEL TOP COAT WOULD I STILL NEED TO APPLY "GEL BASE COAT" ON TOP OF PROTEIN BOND OR.. JUST SKIP THE GEL BASE AND GO DIRECTLY TO THE GEL TOP COAT.
With the resin method, you do not use protein bond and you wouldn't be using a gel base. You would be using the 4 steps the resin method comes with.
This question is for Melissa, Tracy or Greg: Would there be any reason why one couldn't use Mani-Q base & top in place of Caption? Since both are uv/led cured, I was just wondering if the chemistry would be close enough. I cannot use resin systems, as I suffer from severe sinus issues from the liquids. I appreciate your time & attention :)
you could try using the maniQ base and top with slickpour but it won't absorb the powder the same way as caption
And ManiQ it doesn’t absorb the same. That works the best with Conversion Gel! Actually works amazing in Conversion Gel!!
Thanks for the reply! I actually tried it today with a different brand of dip, since I only have your Under the Radar, and, while it did work, I did notice that a) it didn't fully absorb (solid coverage, though), and b) it was a bit on the thick side because I didn't remove enough of my enhancement first.
I will definitely get the CC gels to compare. Also, I am IN LOVE with the consistency & coverage of Mani-Q polish! How does GoTime compare? I despise thick polishes, as I have small nailbeds and they end up looking like jelly beans when I'm done 🤣 I've only used iGel Beauty and Nail Addicts LA and hated them.
@@71dixiemama go time actually covers in one coat fully. The only thing is you have to make sure you get it to your side walls into your cuticles your first round. If not you totally could add another coat. It cures really tight. It also has a built-in too coat. 😊

No, conversion is made specifically to absorb the powder this way.

Can swipe be used as well as manique
ManiQ Cleanser is for soft gels because it doesn't have any acetone in it. Swipe has a little acetone in it which works better on hard gels.

You can remove with your e-file or soak off.
maybe a silly question but what is the difference between GEL base and topcoat and "CONVERSION GEL" base and top?
Synergy Gel Base is our hard gel base. You want to use this when you are building or sculpting hard gel enhancements. Otherwise, if you are asking about ManiQ Base and Top, these are our traditional gel polish base and top coat. Conversion Base and Top were designed to be used with the YN polish to sandwich the layers of polish in between a gel to get longer wear, or basically "converting" traditional polish to gel polish.
I have a good tip. Use gel polish cure, and dip into powder. Brush off. Voila ombre

They are our 150 grit sanding bands.
How long should last
I guarantee it for two weeks but my clients to month.
What’s the difference between resin and conversion gel
They are both strong.. I would say resin probably a little stronger and conversion is more flexible.
What color is on her right hand please?
I'm not sure which grey it is but it has our glitter resolution on top of it. Unfortuantely, that glitter is no longer available. We do have one similar called Numero Uno.
Why wouldn’t you use a fluffy make up brush and tap slickpour powder on top to layer both colours. It’s less wasteful.

There’s no way you could tap powder into a gel substance or into glue it’ll clog up your brush and look messy. It’s better when you pour it on gel for sure. The powder will absorb for strength as it sits there as well as the resin. But I get where you’re coming from!😉🙌🏼🤩💅🏻💖✨

I ment tap powder from an inch above the nail not the fluffy makeup brush touching the gel or resin. And yes, I do agree it blends better with gel.I use this method with NSI simplicite system.
On a different note, I do prefer YN products like synergy gel and your resin dip system to any other brand on the market.
I have been a nail technician ( also Beauty Therapist) for more than 20yrs and have tried a lot of products in my years.
YN have a very good quality product that I will continue to use.
