People have been asking Jagex to move the Burthorpe game room on top of the GE for years. It's a pretty reasonable request, in my opinion. This way there is a legit chance for people to use it, even people that are flipping could play a game or two while their flips go through, especially slower flips. This would go 100x more if they also put a bank and a GE booth on that second floor.
Burthrope Games room used to be a great hangout spot and was very active. Has fun games and a ranking system within it. When Runescape transitioned from a social game to being about efficiency, this XP waste area was quickly abandoned.
true on the second part indeed... also castle wars was SO COOL back in the day XD now we see it as a mini game without any good rewards so not even worth trying ... i still play like i used to however there is no option to play without GE so it dosnt worth it to enter world 1 or world 2 to sell my stuff
Maybe people just realized that if they wanted to do something like that there are other games much better at it. Only reason runescape isnt dead is becuase they do some things much better than other games, burthorpe games room definitely isn't one of these things.
I remember back in 04/05 people were always at the shooting range in the ranging guild for xp. It was one of the only ways to gain range xp without leveling hp!
There's something about guilds that I love. Flipping, I know this isn't your kind of content, but I feel like a "guild guide" would be a really useful video and I don't believe anyone has one. I feel like people don't talk about or use guilds enough. A video just explaining each guild and at what levels it's best to train in each guild would be awesome (i.e. you could talk about the WC guild and explain at what level it becomes efficient to train there, the benefits and disadvantages of training there vs. other methods, random facts about the guild, etc.)
I agree. One issue I have with OSRS is the fact they don't give a shit about Power-Creep. Power-Creep is where they just essentially keep releasing content to one-up the previous content. I would like an overhaul to a lot of OSRS, to either A.) Match the power-creep and make more content viable or B.) Reduce the effectiveness of ALL the new content. But that would definitely piss people off.

It's extremely rare when non-End-Game content is introduced.
The most useless content in the game is the bronze mace. It would be cool to get a low level weapons rework. Scimitar, sword, longsword shouldnt be the only viable weapons.
@@darkaheart yes it does. Something to consider though is that the dream regen is additive, and according to the wiki it runs separate from natural regen. This means that dream + rapid heal will restore 5 hp per minute, but the natural regen will not be included.
Ranging Guild used to have a point as there were no gem tipped bolts or even any types of bolts other than just "Bolts". So things like the barbed bolts and etc had a place. You couldn't make javelins and at the time they were a thrown weapon, so it too had a point. But now, yeah it's completely pointless really....
Used “dream” on my alt at nightmare, for heals and spec transfer, with regen and hp cape you usually heal full hp on alt and its a great tool for ur team :)
I think the motherload mine should have been placed in Keldagrim. Would be really cool after a day of mining being able to ride the carts to the GE to sell the days load.
When I was a kid I used to imagine if runescape made a survival mini game at the rangers guild were you try to survive as many waves of enemies as you can.
Bro I got lured in Archers Guild back in like 2005 for my entire bank. The guy took me up the Tower Archers and dropped items west side of the tower and I got wrecked by the strong archers for bank. RIP 12year old me

I started playing when Runescape was the beta classic version back in 2001. Here are some old hotspots I remember that are dead now. 1.) When the blood rune chest north of ardougne was first released (shortly after thieving became a skill) it was packed. 61 thieving (or was it 69?) to use the chest was pretty hard to get back then so it was a goal for lots of people to hit that chest. 2.) Training on blessed spiders in the underground pass used to be the best combat XP in the game for temp AFK, used to be a hotspot. Ran into TheOldNite there back when he was famous as fk. 3.) STAKING IN LUMBRIDGE AND DRAYNOR! YES. That was my bread and butter and the reason I played so much. You used to be able to duel/stake wherever you wanted, and you never used to have an option to get rid of potions so I always had pots in my inv to try catching people off guard haha. 4.) Fishing in Catherby used to be MASSIVE when that addition was added to the map. Its still a thing but nothing like it was before, Catherby used to be the varrock of fishing. 5.) Before the GE and before falador/varrock bank was where you traded - everyone used to trade up west of the varrock castle near the top..weird spot. 6.) when r2hs were 500k a piece and 500k was A TON of GP, only a few people had 99 smithing back then.. 7.) With that being said, Smithing, used to be the best money maker in the game. That sure disappeared. **Honorable mention - ZYBEZ FORUMS** I could sit here all day and think of stuff like this but no ones going to read it haha. I love Runescape Nostalgia.
yeah i really think smithing needs an update. the only thing i like more about rs3 is the smithing update, its amazing. Mid tier gear being locked behind 99 smithing makes absolutely no sense. Back when rune was the bis it was fine, but that hasnt been true in like 15 years
If there was a boss that you could reliably kill without food, but you still needed to heal up a fair bit after each fight, the Dream spell could be pretty legit when combined with a regen brace and rapid restore. That'd be what.. 12? hp per minute. Seems decent by old-oldschool standards
6:10 a player(iron man) wanted to kill lizard shaman for elite diarie. Mentioned he didn’t have any good ammo and I reminded him he could buy rune arrows from their. He just needed one kill .
The balancing the keg on your head is often used by 10hp accounts to train strength, but not by many other people, and the games room is sometimes used by clans for fun to challenge each other in those games without leaving osrs. I recently did it with my clan.
Ranging guild wasn't dead content till like 2012 or so. People used to bot their accounts there for range xp. And pures used it to make sure they won't gain any hp experience plus if I remember correctly at some point you were able to buy rune arrows by paying with ranging tickets which was quite useful knowing that people would bot there for days.
Back in the day I used range guild training for a low level pure to avoid hp xp. It was profitable to buy rune arrows with tickets. It was an ok alternative to cannoning if you were broke.
Another piece of lesser known content located in Keldragrim, you can actually do favors for some of the citizens for random rewards. Learned that in a caveman stream
The ranging guild used to be a training spot in RS2. People used to auto click the round thing for like 100k p/h exp, but only range exp. Sometimes you could get the aggro of the guards and kill the auto clickers for big loot. Good times.
That dream spell could be pretty sick if you were afking a slayer task against enemies that do small amounts of damage, like when they're always hitting 1's and 2's , step aside n dream right quick, maybe have a smoke, right back to it
dream is used with alts at nightmare of ashihama so your main doesnt have to bank ever which makes for a lot more kills per hour and you save food and can heal other your main after kills. very useful with hp cape and regen , doesnt belong here.
Before skilling guides on youtube were a thing, my very first RS2 account, a training method I used was actually the shooting range in the ranging guild. PTSD from spending hours there. Everything nowadays is much more efficient lol. But there were no guides back then
i had a pure account with level 1 defence back in 2009. For the first time i entered the warriors guild and i tried out minigames to get tokens. When i was trying out the Xbow minigame. I got leveld up my defence to 2 :D
So i used to play a TON of that archery guild minigame before eoc, it was a great way to get no hp range exp if you where to poor for a cannon! Loved using that method
Dream gets even worse when you consider the log out timer was much shorter in the past. If you cast it and left for 2 minutes you'd get 6 hp and then log out....
There is one important use for dream, but its only useful on alts and mules mains wouldn't use it. for example you use lunar spells to heal your main at content like nightmare which is far from a bank, and then let it dream its hp back while you kill the boss
I actually used to use the ranging guild target practice minigame a lot back in the day on my pure, if you spam click you can get 40k+ range exp/hr which is not terrible at lvl 40 range. Also good for 10 hp pures who want to train range but not spend tons on cannonballs
You forgot to mention that in ranging guild you can go up the ladder to fight versus 4 tiers of rangers. They used to even used for luring because they are always aggressive towards you
Dream stacks with regen bracelets and hitpoints capes additively. so you can get 5hp back every cycle. Still very niche but has some uses. especially if your solo'ing wintertodt and run out of food for example. Or for alts at nightmare / bosses
The Inn in Shilo village was basically only used in Runescape classic during the "Fatigue" nonsense if you did not have a sleeping bag to keep mining gem rocks
Dream is used for efficient speed runs at nightmare. You set an alt outside and use dream to restore health as running from POH every time is too long.

The Ranging Guild can use a heavy buff. Make it so that it has throwables, arrows, and Javelins up to rune, and reduce rhe cost so that 1 rune item is at the most, 50 tokens per instead of addy javs being 100 tokens per.
people used the archery place to gain range xp without hp xp.. cannon to 40 then use that place.. i went from 40-70 range there before because of the no hp and its cheap to train.

What about the underground city near lumbridge? Last time I went there back in rs2 it seemed pretty dead. Haven't been there since because no membership, but unless something changed i feel it may still be dead
Warriors Guild stuff doesn't really deserve to be here. I'll explain... Yes, the other methods don't really get used much as opposed to the armor, but that's because the whole point to the guild is to get tokens for Defenders. However, even those other methods still have a purpose. They are a way to attain combat XP without getting into combat, thus no HP XP. Slow going compared to the armor method but doing the armor method quickly often requires supplies like food, prayer potions, or having decent weapons and armor yourself. So for say an Iron Man or Ultimate Iron Man, there's definitely good reasons to still do it. Another part of the guild you brushed over but I know gets used a lot is the chef there who sells food. You can get cheese potatoes which heal 16 HP and they are dirt cheap. It's a great cheap way to get some decent food if you lack the levels to make it yourself or don't want to pay G/E prices.
I think some people use heal other on there alt to heal there main at nightmare then they trade them supplies and then they use the dream and regain health to heal other again

Some content doesn't need to be useful, and I dont mind it being in the game. Power creep isn't a big problem so far.

I actually used it once in the fight caves. I makes your health regenerate faster temporarily which stacks with rapid heal and regen bracelet
People recharged their alts when they hp shared while killing nightmare.

Make the chests thievable or unlockable for arrows/bolts/darts/javelins/knives and put more ranging gear in the shops (blue, red, black d'hide)

Casting the dream spell while you have the jar of dreams from the Nightmare in your inventory will have a unique effect.

The doors in the ranging guild that you can't open are to the towers in the archer shooting "minigame" upstairs in the center tower.

Archery range used to be a VERY useful place to train a range pure in runescape classic. Also it used to be heavily botted in the early days

Shades used to be a great money maker. I used to make a bundle setting up the pyre logs for friends. They made a bundle on the rewards.

in rs3 i did the block one becuase with the hp changes you can actually 100% afk it with no chance of death

You missed the entire ranging guild! everything is upstairs in the tower! where the long range archery battles are..
people used the archery place to gain range xp without hp xp.. cannon to 40 then use that place.. i went from 40-70 range there before because of the no hp and its cheap to train.

People use the dream spell at nightmare on their alts to hold worlds, probably for no other reason than aesthetics though
I don't usually comment, but I can't let them say this!!, ranging guild it's the second best option to create pure ranged without getting hp exp, Ye at firt you will need to level up with cannon to 40 them you can go there and save alot of money to get 60-80 rng
i think the inn was added when they tryed to stop bots with the fatigue update happen
The games room will desperately need an update soon if they add all the games to the pubs.
What about the underground city near lumbridge? Last time I went there back in rs2 it seemed pretty dead. Haven't been there since because no membership, but unless something changed i feel it may still be dead

And also, throw all d'hide sets in up to black, so that iron men/women won't have to rely on hard caskets solely for the black d'hide.
Pretty much everyone who uses a nighmare alt uses dream spell to regain hp to use heal other on their main between nighmare kills
Warriors Guild stuff doesn't really deserve to be here. I'll explain... Yes, the other methods don't really get used much as opposed to the armor, but that's because the whole point to the guild is to get tokens for Defenders. However, even those other methods still have a purpose. They are a way to attain combat XP without getting into combat, thus no HP XP. Slow going compared to the armor method but doing the armor method quickly often requires supplies like food, prayer potions, or having decent weapons and armor yourself. So for say an Iron Man or Ultimate Iron Man, there's definitely good reasons to still do it.
Another part of the guild you brushed over but I know gets used a lot is the chef there who sells food. You can get cheese potatoes which heal 16 HP and they are dirt cheap. It's a great cheap way to get some decent food if you lack the levels to make it yourself or don't want to pay G/E prices.

I think some people use heal other on there alt to heal there main at nightmare then they trade them supplies and then they use the dream and regain health to heal other again
Ranged Guild Targets are some of the best non-cannon Ranged xp from 40-60.
The exp rate scales with lvl and range bonus. It's actually really good ranged exp phr at any level. Prolly one of the best rates under chins

Dream is used by PvM alts all the time for heal-other between kills at nightmare.
The sleep spell make it a low level spell with low cost then you would see plenty of use.

Ranging guild was packed with bots Pre Eoc and you could kills the bots for their money and tickets.. Ahh good times
