Thank you for including the demonstration of what happens when you add the soap early!

Great stuff would like to see how combining this with an ultrasonic cleaner would clean it up a little nicer.

It would be an interesting experiment to see if the first method you used works.
Put your rusty pieces in the foam and let it get to work.

@Spicy110... I've just watched your 9month old vid on a £6k 125cc bike, FECK!!! How about this... Back in 1989/1990 125cc bikes WERE UP TO £2000 NEW!!! My NEW Kawasaki AR125 was £1499, which I then traded in to buy a NEW Kawasaki GPX250R (at £2800!!!) but SIX GRAND for a 125???? SHEEEESH!
NOTE:- IF looking for a powerful 250cc 4-stroke... Earlier GPX/ZZR250s put our around 38-42 BHP (and revved to 14,500RPM!!!), just look at what the later Ninja 350s/400 put out (and they redline lower too!)! Emission standards did the dirty on power! Recently I saw a rather tidy used GPX250 online for sale for around £1400, so, if you've passed your A1, mybe look for an older 250, cheaper to buy/insure, you'll have more power as standard than a new bike, plus, it wont cost you as much on parts if you accidentally 'Dump it'... 😏👍

Can't say that I think it would be a good idea to mix the dry reactants then seal them in a bag, as any moisture in the trapped air might be enough to release some CO2, and then you might get quite a surprise when the bag pops in the middle of the night 😅.
Me, I've always just stuck with a squirt of 10X in boiling water, leave the part in overnight then just wire wool it off, never had any issues with it before.
I agree with the shout-out to Backyard Ballistics though, great channel.

      What is 10X?

@@Google_Does_Evil_Now Harpic 10X, basically a toilet cleaner, but it contains hydrochloric acid which eats rust. Probably not an ideal solution, but it does work. Remember though that it is an acid and needs to be handled with care, it stings like a sunnavab**ch if you have any cuts on your hands, and it can darken stainless steel, so keep it away from the kitchen sink! (I may have found this out the hard way 😅).

I have tried already...made a 7 liter bucket and dipped a couple of MC parts. I must say, it works awesome and it is very easy to clean the parts afterwards. Hmm, how long time do you think it is possible to save/use the solution? Big thanks!! // Tom - Sweden

Im not sure how long it would stay active but i still have this bucket of it so in a while i can re test it.

This reminded of the tv home cleaning gurus who use the juice of 3 lemons, bicarbonate of soda and washing-up liquid to clean absolutely anything. So shall ee call you Kim or Aggie from now on?😂😮

i wonder if this would be useful in a spray bottle to spray the rusty parts under my car

    • @fenrir7969
      @fenrir7969 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'm guessing it would dry out too quickly to be useful there. A rust converter might work better in that instance, rather than a remover.

I was just thinking up a way I can sit my landrovers chassis in a bath of this stuff lol. It would need to be a gel like paste to stay on the chassis and not dry out too quickly. Would certainly beat getting the wire wheel going under my chassis

It seems to work but im definitely curious how the metal has been affected subsurface. You know how mercury affects aluminium, id be hoping that this does not affect steel in anyway like that, obviously you don't want bolts dissolving and crumbling. Cool stuff! 👍😎

What is the stuff you use for for cleaning exhaust headers? Harpic, as in the bleach or something else?

Harpic is the thing people keep using, despite the fact that it contains hydrochloric acid which damages stainless

I that mix releases a lot of Co2, have you got a lighter or a match you could hold above it and watch it go out as the container fills? Oh and what watch is that?
    *Rant below.
So often you see "Go check this out, I'll put the thing in the dooblydoo..." And fucking NO ONE DOES. Eugh. I know most of the suckers have paid editors and whatever but Christ on a fish stake, just link the video or their @youtube thing. Or/and tell your fucking editor to do it.
Thank you spice, I did need something like this. And with car MOT/Brake replacement on the near horizon, money is tight. The bikes had to be garaged :(

Am i the first person to now be wondering what happens if you build up a paddling pool around an old car, and then fill it up to the floorpan with this stuff?
