Don't die at your desk. What a Great saying! I bought my cruising boat at 49. In May 2022, one short year I turn 60 and am retiring. In july I'll start my trip south from Alaska, 3600 NM to La Paz. All the time in the world. You folks are a great inspiration. Don't die at your desk! Thanks for another great video!
We're stuck at the dock, but we're really enjoying watching your videos and reliving our Bahamas trips through you guys (because, we don't make very good videos, LOL). Wishing we were getting lunch at the SCYC or the Purple Cafe today!
I can't say thanks enough !!!! Thanks for these videos where you guys go about when everything is normal !!! What wonderful escapism you 2 have created for us !!!
watching you guys is seriously sparking my inner most desire to do just this!!! get out there on the water and experience this world!!!!! Thanks for making all these videos!!!
What an inspiration. My wife and I are heading to Florida keys in eight years to do what you guys are doing. We are in San Francisco, can't wait!! See ya soon. Yes, I have a tap and die set, LOL. We were in Maui every year, but now we cant wait to do the Florida thing. You are rock stars.
Thanks guys for another great video! I so enjoy living vicariously through you. I keep telling my gf we need to sell everything and follow your lead. What a wonderful landscape you get to see each day! Looking forward to more videos. I hope you are safe this winter.
👍🏻 👍🏻 You two are awesome! Not only are you learning new things, you are always giving a shout out to those fellow yachters who help you. That's a team player for ya! My experience has shown that water pumps are probably the most mechanically challenged equipment on any internal combustion engine. Those impellers turn at very high speed, and when they fail, it's always at the worst time and the only remedy is to replace them. You handled all of that like a champ. Well done!
GREAT VIDEO! Maybe your best.....looking forward to seeing you in the Bahamas again. Putting these together must be bittersweet for you....I know that is where you want to be.
Nice video, beautiful footage of the scenery. Wow, you really need to be a jack of all trades when you own a boat. I can't even imagine the cost of having boat repairs done if you couldn't do the work. You have a beautiful voice and the choice of music is very nice! Stay safe, Hugs 😎❤🍸🍹🌏🏝☀️🛳🍍🍷
Aw, thank you Karen. Such a lovely comment to come in and read. Yes, you do have to be able to do some of the work yourselves, especially in the Bahamas.
Carry some JB Weld on board. In a pinch you could have simply tapped it into the hole with a small hammer and then sealed it with JB Weld. JB Weld is so strong it can be used to fix cracks in engine blocks. I know, trust me. It's cheap and wicked effective.
The video editing and content just gets better and better. I hope you make it back to the Bahamas in 2021. I also hope you make it as far as the Crooked Islands. GOD speed CS Crew, JC
Thanks JC. We hope to get as far south as Turks and Caicos next season. Depending on our work situation we may even jump across to the Caribbean. Cheers my friend.
Loved the last shot the most with the white sand and storm brewing in the background. Another amazing post. Just wondering your opinion (if you know) how an swift trawler 42 might compare to a Tolly for Florida Bahamas cruising? Thanks again!
Thank you so much Ed. We've seen a number of Swift Trawlers in the Bahamas. They look like a decent coastal/Bahamas cruiser. We don't have much experience with them beyond that.
Wow, you did it once more, improving on the quality of you video and making me dream. The shadow-hug scene at the bottom of the sea, that final touch sitting in that white sand, just epic. Safe travel.
Doesn't matter if it is sailing life, boating life, van life or bus life... you need to be able to fix your own stuff. Stuff breaks ! Good job, Sheldon.
Thanks so much for giving us something to look forward to every weekend. It is a brief escape from lockdown to share in your good glorious adventure! Keep posting! We are jonesing for more. Outtakes and bloopers?
Just added a tap and die set to my Amazon wish list. All the little things you never know you may need for yourself or someone else. If you're still out there in 20 years when I get there, you'll be welcome to use my set ha
@@SearchingforCShels well, the project was quoted at 12-14 weeks... in true boat yard fashion... it’s double the time and double the cost! Ha I’m using some of y’all’s videos as guides as this will be my first trip to exumas in my own boat.

Great episode guys! I hope you get back out there soon. We are hauled out in NC for some repairs right now, but making our way south slowly but surely. Stay safe!
Good video guys I would really suggest doing closed circuit security cameras in your engine room and have some monitors on the flybridge that way you could see what's going on in your engine room maybe see the problem before it becomes major happy travels guys
Great tip! We do have cameras in the engine room and can look at it form the helm. However, we do not have one in the lazzarette where the generator is.Cheers!

@@SearchingforCShels I did not ask, but they had the beautiful Outer Reef 70 that was in Staniel Cay. He said he had visitors coming aboard so they needed a lot of supplies. Another well done video with a very graceful exit from your dinghy to the dock. We've had our generator problems, lucky you got out of your mess relatively cheaply. Next time I'm on the boat will definitely check for that reset button so I know where it is. I wish I could tell you more about it. It was on the boat when we bought it. It is a aluminum frame with some sort of translucent plexi/plastic on top. We really like it, and it has held up perfectly. We don't know what the plastic is, nor do we know who created the hardtop. I can take pictures of the details and send them to you. Maybe someone can figure it out for you.
Hello I'm Robert from my farm by Mervin Saskatchewan. Your one first TH-cam cruisers and seen every one you produced. You both have been an inspiration. I'm selling off my farm time for a change. May i ask for advise buying 45 to 50ft diesel should I buy down south or Canada
Thanks so much Robert. It depends on where you are going to use the boat. If you are using it down south, then we'd recommend purchasing one in the US and saving the taxes by never importing the boat to Canada. If you are cruising Canada then it doesn't really matter. Buy the best best boat for the best deal you can find. Remember, an asian built boat will cost you more in duties bringing it over the Canadian border than a US built boat will.
