    We are a travel couple, looking for a non-mainstream life of living aboard a boat and cruising in the Caribbean/Bahamas in Winter, and the Great Lakes in Summer. Working when we can to fill the cruising kitty. We have sold everything we own, and we now own a cruising yacht. We have chosen to do this voyaging in a powerboat/motor vessel, instead of the popular sailing route.
    Our mission is to help inspire people to live their dreams earlier in life, instead of waiting until retirement. So often retirement dreams are dashed by health issues or other unforeseen later life circumstances. If you have a dream, then dream, plan, and do it now. We hope to make you smile, and spark the yearning in your heart for fulfilling your dreams.

    Wow, really impressive dive video in this episode. The canyons of Eleuthera are amazing. I remember reading about Eleuthera in Skin Diver like 40 years ago, but nothing compares to 4K video. Very nice work. And your shark dive was equally impressive. They say you haven't been diving until you swim with fish bigger than you are. Guessing that was very impressive to experience first hand.

    Something I think few noticed was how smooth a boat that large runs up on plane. When the seas get bumpy there is nothing like getting after it a bit to smooth things out! If I may...what do you cruise at when at a "fast cruise"? What Horsepower engines are you running? We run twin 330 Cummins , but I Think I remember seeing Cat Yellow in a previous video. 3208's? About 300 Horsepower? I'm guessing you must be in the mid 40,000 pound range wet?

    • @SearchingforCShels

    hi, thanks for all the vids.. are there any reefs/dive sites in the bahamas similar to the one in this video where you can moor your own boat and dive directly off your boat? i've noticed there is a ton of snorkeling in the bahamas, but we really enjoy diving reefs 30-60 feet deep. I imagine anchoring is impossible/illegal due to damage of the reefs, and other countries we have been to have mooring balls drilled into the ocean floor for the dive boats. again thanks for all the vids!

    I found the shark briefing quite interesting and the underwater photography wonderful. I would have been quite apprehensive. It looked like there was a cage or something lowered from the boat. Was there bait in there to attrack sharks?

    • @SearchingforCShels
      @SearchingforCShels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Roy. Yes, that was a bait box. It does attract them, but they don't go into a feeding frenzy because they can't get at it. They are not fed by this dive operation. They do not want the sharks trained to associate food with people.

    How often do you have to put up with unpleasant seas at night? I noticed a few videos you put out a swell bridle but it still looked pretty rocky...can you just go from secluded area to secluded area so it's flat at night? Great videos as always..hope yall are doing well, can't wait for your return to the open blue!!!

    • @SearchingforCShels
      @SearchingforCShels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. It is difficult in most of the Bahamas to get protection from wave action 100% of the time. Winds change overnight and even when you have wind protection the swell can round corners and make an anchorage rolly. When out here you will need to prepare for a few rolly nights. Having the swell bridle in your arsenal can save a night's sleep.

      8 knots mostly. 19 knots on plan, but that was only for about 20 mins.

    Were some of the sharks tagged? I saw something on some of the sharks big fin that might have been a tag.
