The counter guy was looking like he had too much coffee! What did we know! We were talking waves, and cloudy water and such. We were pooped and cold and wet from SCUBA diving. After he left, the counter guy clued us in. It was Chuck Berry. I kept his cigarette butt and match book for about five years!

If you're referring to music history and the overblown misattribution Chuck "started" it all, it was Chuck & Elvis who both told people (publicly) that Fats Domino was the one deserving of credit. They both pointed out Fats was doing R&R in 1949... 7 years before the 1956 R&R explosion. James Brown also, and many others pointed to Fats as often being overlooked but much more deserving of being right in the middle of that convo.
Now if you're speaking about "it all started" referring to Chuck just being *your own personal introduction to music years ago*, then disregard my response, and in that case, not a bad start!
I hope Chuck & all the other great icons from that era are resting in peace.
