Hey everyone I hope you enjoyed this video, and if you did, maybe consider subscribing! I originally planned to only make one video on master of Arena, but I decided to split it into two parts, as the video would have taken significantly longer to make. Anyways, feel free to leave any sort of feedback down in the comments because I always try to improve my content. Also yes, I skipped Project Phantasma for now, there is very little time till AC6 comes out and I want to get through most of the major games on stream and make videos on them, so I'll be playing some of the other titles on my own later down the line.
MoA was my childhood fave, it is always a treat to see people get into gen 1 AC. I loved the music choice you had throughout the video too! Also, I respect the dedication you had for getting the tank-shank for that last FROMSOFT arena win.
Thank you! This series has got me hooked now, I just wish I would have gotten into it sooner so I could have finished most of the games before AC6 comes out... And it just felt right to do that for the last arena fight, I have displayed complete dominance over anyone who would dare to challange me! lmao
that one of nostalgic memory and my proudest moment about this game, first time i play master of arena, in my first year of middle school, about 2 month i play but in the end i complete the game, at that time none of my friend play armored core, so i don't know if i'm doing good or bad, but since i finish the game i carried on with other game. and then when when 2nd year of my high school, someone create game group, and i join it, latter i know none of that group member except me finish the game (about 25-30 ppl i forget exact number), and then i become their mentor, but sadly there is 1 that not able to finish the game by themself even after many help by everyone because limitation of them self, later we know the cause that he had really very bad spatial ability in their brain. that the moment i understand some special limitation on self and not always visible, can made possible thing very close to impossible.
Master of Arena is the one that made me crave mech games in general since then despite the clank. Extra Arena opens up ways to gain more credits before missions. Project Phantasma is more difficult than Master of Arena feel-wise, but try bringing the SNES Death Machine there for a rude awakening. Also, side note: top tier arena battles are Souls-Like bosses of their own right. At least we get to choose our battlefields. So I guess that makes *us* the boss who tells them to put those foolish ambitions to rest?
Haha true, these are like bossfights, but at the end of the day, they got nothing on us. And I didn't think that Project Phantasma would be harder than MoA, but I guess I will see once I go back to play it!
The Ex Arena's first four classes are open from the moment you start your game, you don't need to do any story missions or get a sponsor to start playing them. You unlock a fifth Ex Arena class after finishing the first four and others unlock after you beet the story and complete all the missions. You do need to progress the story and get a sponsor to access the Sub Arena and Arena. The Sub Arena and Arena are both on the main disc along with the story mode.
The old games were so good. The only thing bad about them was how the camera lagged behind your movement bad enough to blind you and the shoulder buttons made it somewhat difficult to aim up and down. Rubicon solved that but broke a dozen other things about the experience.
@@upper_case_T To not would seem to be leaving money on the table to me. They're not getting kickbacks on the inflated used market prices, so, the AC3 series is basically abandonware at this point.
That track from the end of the video, Ambiguity, is probably the single best from any of the OST's of all the games. I'd love to see it come back in AC6 as an easter egg in a matchup or arena fight.
Apparently the ACVI director has expressed a fondness for the harsh old-school debt system, despite it not making it back in. Sounded like he _wanted_ to keep it in but FromSoft was afraid of the idea, really.
I am currently playing through AC2 and I can definitely see what they learned from MoA... And let's just say that I am exploiting the Arena for my personal bank account yet again lmao

As someone else going though the series before going to rubicon, i hope you're able to adust to the reduced speed of the 2nd Gen (it's pretty wierd at first, but i honestly think its for the best) May your wings fly you high, and remember the words of Ninebreaker: "It doesn't matter how much ARMOUR you put on Nine-Ball, you'll always be rotten to your CORE 😎"
Yup. This is my favorite Armored Core because honestly? I hate missions. I just wanna build giant robots and fight them, dangit! Thus I also enjoy the Dreamcast game Frame Gride which is also from FromSoftware and is basically just Armored Core but medieval (think Escaflowne) and all arena duels.
I agree, the AC on AC fights are definitely where this game shines through. And I might have to take a look at Frame Gride, becasue it sound pretty intriguing!
I will say this if you have any problems with skill then you could either git gud or do the cool thing and use the Armored Core Grip. Also, good thing you got good with the controls because you are going to be using the controls for a long time going through these games.

It's kind of criminal that they haven't produced any Legacy collections for Armored Core. I'd love to go back and play the AC3 series on my switch.
That would definitely help bring way more attention to the series. But until From decides to do it (which I doubt), all we can do is hope...

EX-300 is the only fight in the arena that I consider almost unfair, its the only AC I really had to use some cheap strategies or get lucky to defeat.
