Modern Toyotas are having the worst engine issues and most under recalls. Then there’s the rusting and paint peeling problems. Not so much quality anytime because there’s no long term reliability as was the legend of the brand.
Toyota, Mazda, Honda lost there way along time ago, the cars of the 90’s were there prime years. Now they are all just putting out high priced junk. My 2020 Corolla is falling apart and is already rusting with only 32K on the clock. Saying all that they need to get back to the pride of the 90’s when they had great cars at affordable prices.
They went Boeing 2020 camry, 40,000 miles, $25,400. Hesitates so bad I'm afraid to drive it. Recall on the airbag too. Took 9 months for the attorney general to get back to me am waiting to hear more BS. . The dealers just lie and say fine. If you buy a used car with a certified warranty you will just find it can be in a not in recall recall (hidden) in another place. If this recalled part causes an accident will your car insurance cover the accident?
Engine blocks are being blended with carbon... used coal ash can't make this up and they crack. The biggest of the big are protecting these corporations. The wild west.
To me, it hurts my impression when the grandson of the founder tries to weasel out of responsibility by saying, among other excuses, that the regulations are to blame, and it really isn't their fault. Yes, it really is their fault. I can't believe the founder would ever have put the blame on others but then that was a different era in Japan.
With everything going on now with automakers this is just par for the course in my opinion. Too many people in positions of power at car companies put profits above everything else.
I stopped buying Toyota 10 years ago, because of all the quality issues. Now they are admitting continued problems and Tundra engine failures. Toyota used to be the highest quality brand and now they are not good anymore. It’s very sad to see a great company lower the standards this low.
No matter what you believe, Toyota/Lexus is at the top in reliability, low TCO, longevity etc. Btw, maybe you read, but for sure you didn't understand that the small tricks were done to overcome the stupid regulations and they never put the customers' safety at risk.

With the problems Toyota is having with the turbo truck engines, and the Tacoma redesign itself, I'm not surprised. The previous scandal at Toyota involved their Daihatsu brand models (mostly 'kei' cars not sold here in the USA), so some of that 'cutting corners' philosophy bleeding over to the larger cars (that have USA equivalent models) isn't unusual. Maada has a partnership with Toyota and shares some parts/assemblies/design functions, so a scandal at one company can effect the other. The Mazda Roadster is the MX-5/Miata here in the USA IIRC, the Mazda 2 was sold as the Toyota Yaris here in the USA a few years ago (in the Yaris' last few years of availability, up until about 2020).

Example of the wrongdoing is toyota gave included measuring collision damage under more strict condition than those sets out of the ministry but it didnt meet the requirement as they need specified condition
Not at all. They used modified cars for safety testing and not production models. The modded models were fradulently used to pass safety tests. Same with engine performance data. They also just recalled 100k cars for failing engines...

Here in North America vehicle safety tests are done by the NHTSA and the IIHS. Both are independent I believe.
