Sabretooth is dead in Logan. You can see that Wolverine is wearing his brother's long coat from X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the scene when Logan is chilling out in a graveyard and drinking whiskey. The symbolism is pretty obvious.

I always assumed Sabretooth died in the first X-Men. But then when I thought about a character like Sabretooth with regenerative abilities similar to Wolverine, it's silly to think he would die from being kicked off the Statue of Liberty.
This theory actually makes a lot of sense. In a deleted scene of Logan, one of the x-kids asks where sabretooth is. Logan replies saying that he was experimented on " just like me " and " a lot like you kids and Laura ". So it makes sense he probably died at weapon x. Btw the scene is on the DVD and I'm sure it is online somewhere
How about an "Old Man Creed" movie where Laura and the others are found by Weapon X using Sabertooth but when Creed learns who Laura's dad was, he protects her? Daken can be introduced as a villain and Creed can tell us what happened to the X-Men.

Sabretooth didn't make his appearance in Logan, because fuckn Fox has bad management with this franchise, James Mangold said that they inluded Caliban in Logan, because they didn't even know that he had already made his presence in X-Men:Apocalypse. I think they missed a great opportunity. They could've had Sabretooth in Logan, and it would've been a badass send off for the characters. Spoilers below... seriously if you haven't seen the movie don't read on... Okay so in the movie Logan could've gone to Victor for help, to which Victor refuses, However in the Final battle against X24 Victor shows up to help Logan, just before X24 slams him on the tree. Saying either "Nobody kills you but me" or "Brothers lookout for one another". either would be a cool reference to their history. So anyway Logan would still be too wounded to heal and still die, but Victor could watch over the new wave of mutants and eventully mentor them. Which in itself would be a cool refernce to the age of apocolypse comic book series.
I would've prefered it being that he was recaptured by the government and given Wolverine's enhancements, like adamantium and a better healing factor, after Origins, with him taking X-24's role as the mind-controlled bad guy.
I distinctly remember this from the press tour. Sabretooth was supposed to be alive and kicking. He and Logan had just gone their seperate ways. He just wasnt Sabretooth anymore. Thats why Logan spoke in the past tense about him in deleted scenes.
In the comics Wolverine had a Katana that nullifies mutant abilities such as healing factor. One thing led to another and he lops off Sabertooth's head. Comics are violent.
the murumasa blade had some odd back story where it had all of Logan's rage or bad feelings (am unsure of exact explanation at the moment ) which he managed to come to terms with during his time and samurai training in Japan channelled by a master swordsmith into the blade allowing it to cut/kill anything, Logan than entrusted Cyclops with the blade for safe keeping and as a contingency plan against himself should he ever go rogue, Cyclops (upon losing a lot of his honor in a years long story arc showing his fall from grace, and one of marvels best long term character developments of recent memory) then used the sword against Logan
in the schism storyline which led to Cyclops basically becoming the new magneto, leading militant mutants against any and all threats against them, and Logan assuming the role of professor X and Cyclops seeking for mutants to peacefully coexist with humans, I am currently unaware of the swords current status or location but believe it was destroyed
@TheAppleCommunity It's called Wolverine: Evolution. It was supposed to be Wolverine's final battle with Sabretooth. It's a bloody good time, despite some weird transitions, but you have Wolverine's awesome narration to help you through it. Anyways it ends with Wolverine decapitating Sabretooth but sets him off on a journey to discover the true mastermind behind every bad thing that has happened to him. Eventually Sabretooth is brought back to life... sort of. I won't say how unless you want me to tell you ;)
Sabretooth's physical change from X-men 1 to X-men Origins seems more like a cosmetic choice to me rather than a change rooted in the plot. If Sabretooth did actually make an appearance in Logan, I'm pretty sure the director will still opt to have Liev Shreiber reprise the role. And I honestly don't think he would look too different in comparison to his Origins look. Overall, I felt that the first X-men movie was trying to portray him a little more closer to his comic book appearance--that of a large hulking beast. Whereas in Origins, there were a number of artistic liberties taken with many of the characters....like Deadpool and, of course, Sabretooth. Since much of the X-men 1-3 timelines have been retconned, I don't think it's safe to assume that the comic book death of Sabretooth is canon. Keep in mind, while Logan and Victor have similar powers in the comic books, Sabretooth has never devolved in the way that Logan has been shown to. Wolverine's power seems to have its own nuance unique to himself--in that without adamantium Wolverine will slowly become more and more feral. Sabretooth's power seems to have an altogether different dynamic. It's been argued during a couple of points in the comics that Sabretooth is actually a good and honest man. However, his mutation infects him with irresistible murderous tendencies. This is primarily why Sabretooth has been able to maintain his high intelligence throughout his many appearances in the comics most of the years. While he has some physical qualities of feral animals, his cunning and wit remain unaffected by his mutation. So to say that Sabretooth is also prone to devolving to a feral animal like Logan may be an erroneous assumption. In the end, despite the similarities, Wolverine and Sabretooth's powers are nonetheless different. In addition, the retcons of Days of Future Past make it impossible to say whether or not the X-men 1-3 movies happened at all. And given that the director initially felt free to add Sabretooth to the story, it's safe to assume that Sabretooth is alive and well during Logan. And I would assume, with no adamantium in his body, Sabretooth would look close to the what he looked like in X-men Origins. Not to mention, the one reference to Sabretooth in the deleted scenes offered no conclusive evidence of his death, I would say it's not so strange to imagine that Sabretooth is alive and well--albeit long estranged from his half brother. An additional argument, the X-men Origins plot takes place lifetimes after the births of both Logan and Victor. They both participated in the Civil War, both World Wars, and the Vietnam War. And in those many decades, Sabretooth was able to pass for human all that time. By the time the main story of Origins takes place, it's past 1975. And Sabretooth still looks quite human. In approximately 130 years and more, Sabretooth has hardly mutated. Thus, I doubt he would look drastically different in the next 100 years that pass.
Sabertooth managed to keep close contact with Wolverine even though they were separated during Origins. That's what kept him human for so long until they went their separate ways once again by the end of the film. During the 15 years between Origins and X1, Sabertooth's bloodlust and his embracing his animality has devolved him into the large primitive fiend that we know from X1.
The difference between Wolverine and Sabretooth (in the comics) is that Wolverine is constantly fighting his baser instincts and berserker rages, whereas Sabretooth embraces them (and even enjoys his 'walks on the wildside'). This makes him an intelligent, cunning and highly unpredictable person (he could save your life one minute and rip you to shreds the next!). However this also makes him a more balanced character than Logan, who is constantly struggling with his morals and his place in society (especially around friends and loved ones). To quote the man himself "Bad things happen to people I care about...". He's the Llewelyn Moss to Sabretooths Chigurh (think I spelt that right... don't come and get me, scary Bee Gee).
Right but given the flatness of his character in the first X-Men movie and the incredibly bad reputation of the first Wolverine solo movie, I doubt we'll ever see Sabretooth again, especially now that Jackman's left the franchise

Wolverine and Sabretooth have similar healing factors. This takes care to repair and keep health their bodies. What most people don't realize is their minds are also part of that healing. When they experience massive Psychological trauma that would have devastating PTSD and other problems to the average person the mind protects itself. The reason they forget is not some external factor, but the mind dealing with a Mental Health issue. Yes, Psychological trauma is a real problem and kills many people every year. Someone else experiencing what they do would drive them to suicide in a very short period of time. I have lost loves ones to PTSD and living with them having night terrors and hearing them screaming while fully asleep it is a real disease.
It would have been AMAZING if V. Creed was in Logan. I picture this...the farm scene: Logan and X-24 and battling it out. X-24 has Logan on the ropes and is about to deal the killing blow, but something stops him. He catches a familiar scent out of the air; something from his cloned past. He scans the scenery and sees eyes, illuminated by the fire, glowing from the dark (like a lion's). Before he can react, Creed (in full feral form) pounces on X-24 and blah blah blah. Sounds kinda dumb but would have been dope on screen, I think.

Logan is in a different timeline from all the other movies with only a few similarities. Logan said there hasn't been a mutant born in 25 years, yet in DoFP, which is 6 years before, there were a bunch of teenage mutants that were clearly less than 19 years old.
How about Sabertooth following Logans scent through the path they took through the mountains and eventually finding his grave. Having a moment before realizing that there is a fainter scent of Logans that continued onward North, only to follow it and find his daughter.

I'd have liked him to cameo in DOFP when Magneto makes his speech in 1973 and Liev can play him in that scene whilst Tyler Marne would be there for 2023 fighting the sentinels with the others.

X-men and Hydra are in the same universe. The issue is Copyright. Fox can't directly use anything of Marvels. Hell they probably had to talk with Marvel to use a wrecked Helicarrier, and toss in Bob.
I believe that Saber tooth. Is dead. Probably over the years before Logan . He searched out for Logan and fought him head on. Maybe the scars and markings on Logan's body when in the film. Is a memory of those days before and he had to leave the Country to Mexico.
Sabre tooth was captured by Ryce and he did to Sabre Tooth what Stryker couldn't, namely succeed in putting him through the weapon X program. They initially failed and ended up killing him but then managed to revive him after having fused him with Logans DNA. Enter X24, yes X24 is Sabre Tooth modified and hence why he doesn't have the same healing factor as Logan, but a slower version.
To be honest if I had to choose I thought the xmen version of sabretooth was crap compared to the origins version he just looked dumb in xmen much more formidable in origins
The adamantium had a much heavier toll on Sabretooth then anyone would have ever expected. So much so that he regressed all the way back to that of a sabretooth tiger. That along with his lost memories that were now so long gone he would never get them back. Sabretooth found his way to the Savage Land where he wandered for some time until he was found by Ka-Zar who gave him the new name Zabu. And thus Sabretooth was no more and Zabu was born. Or at least that is what Deadpool says. Now where are all the chimichangas???
Actually, its possible that Saber Tooth was affected by the same thing that the other mutants were. Even then there is no real way to tell what happened to him.

I think it all goes back to Sinister creating mutants in the 1800s. Would make sense that science was used to accelerate mutations leading to all the mutants of the time. Hence why Essex corp does it again, history repeats itself. But Logan and Victor would have already been born before the wave of mutants. Question is did their dad have a minor healing factor? Claws wouldn't kill him then...
Mortismors they do explain in the movie that they only stopped random genetic mutation so they could then control when they are born. also they also kind of explain that (in the comics Logan wound up killing all x-men)Charles had a incident at the institute likely involving cerebo and likely killing most known mutants at the time.

FERTUHG Wolvie has more healing feats so leads me to believe his healing factor is better but Sabertooth while not as skilled a fighter is stronger as far as brute strength is concerned.

Well the X-Men trilogy was removed from the timeline by Days of future past, same with the main events of X-Men origins (save for the opening scene with james' mutation being triggered) so none of that is in the revised timeline. However, it is very possible that Creed simply lived his life on without logan. they weren't together in first class either.
We Are Venom , actually, Sabretooth is physically stronger then Wolverine in the comics and in the movie. He is also slightly faster. This is why he beat Wolvie so easily early on in the movie as well. Wolverine has the slightly better healing factor which allows him to survive the bonding process which now makes him even more durable. Also in the comics, wolverine is the slightly more skilled fighter. So you basically have the bigger, faster, stronger fighter vs the more durable, skilled fighter. The advantages are only slight in each ones favour with the exception of Wolvie having a much higher degree of durability because of the adamantium . This is why their battles are legendary, it could go either way and what makes each of them so formidable against much higher powered super beings.
the rebooted First Class timeline can cause Sabretooth to be alive again, regardless of what may or may not have happened in the original timeline. Its too bad he was never done justice
Even if he was a big part of wolverines life he shouldn't have been in the movie. It was a small film about Logan's inner struggle, and we shouldn't have been reminded of the goofy mess that was Origins.
Animu Memester Wendigos are actual characters in Marvel comics result of cannibal curse who have fought Hulk. Wolverine, Werewolf by Night and some Canadian superheroes. In one comic, Wendigo was hunted down by Sabretooth who was hired to kill him, just after Wendigo had done killing a Sasquatach.
Instead of a double of Logan in the recent movie it should have been sabertooth who kills Charles and fights Logan it would have been an awesome twist!
that's imposible because Víctor was born before the timeline changes, so nothing on the x-men history has change before logan wakes up at the 70 after the time travel
I like to think in my own headcanon that Logan and Creed's interactions after 1973 never happened because of the change in the timeline. When Logan wakes up in 1973, in my best speculation it is immediately after he has left Team X after becoming disillusioned. In the original timeline this is when he went on his own for 6 years and hooked up with Kayla. It even fits because the end of Origins is in 1979. This time however, Wolverine is never put through those events in the same way and thus never has the same interactions with Victor. Really though, some things still dont add up. For Ex, in DOFP its presented as if Wolverine has never met Stryker yet in 1973, when Origins establishes that he was in a team set up by Stryker in the late 60s that went on for several years into the early 70s, presumably ending in 1973. If they had established Stryker and Logan as already knowing each other in 1973, it all could have worked out.

There are a few problems with Origins being set in 1979: -The original trilogy (being set in the 2000's) has established that Wolverine has suffered memory loss for 15 years meaning that the weapon X experiment was in 1985. -The Vietnam war scene in Origins depicted the fall of Saigon from 1973-75. The fact that DOFP made it look like Wolverine hadn't met Stryker yet would mean that their prison meeting was in 1975. -The team X mission in Africa couldn't have happened overnight because a few years may have passed since the prison meeting. Wolverine may have quit the team in 1978-79 and the "6 years later" part puts the rest of Origins in 1985. -Xavier's cameo at the film's ending coincides with the X3 flashback scene based on the fact that he has Patrick Stewart's face instead of James McAvoy's. -Gambit told Wolverine that he has been imprisoned on Three Mile island for 2 years and nobody has ever entered the island. That would imply the nuclear meltdown had already happened before Gambit escaped from the island. None of that matters now that DOFP erased those moments.

Sir Joshawott teeth aren't bone, the hardness of your teeth comes from dentin, enamel and cementum. Bone on the other hand is made of collagen and different types of calcium.
There's a deleted scene in Logan that shows Sabertooth was indeed real and he was in the Weapon X program with Logan but their relationship was never explained
you guys forgeting that victor healing factor is much stronger than logan 2029 i mean if logan who who had a vey weak hf was able to survive the seizure from charles so can victor creed especcially since creed doesnt have the adamntium (poison) in his body

Though it should be noted that Wolverine did enter a flatline state during the procedure, implying Victor's healing is not inferior but on equal levels, meaning the risk of Sabretooth entering a flatlined state was very likely, therefore Stryker would rather avoid risking a powerful soldier

Much as I like Stephen Merchant’s Caliban, I think his root was best suited for Sabretooth. With the themes of family in the movie, it’s Charles as the grandfather, Logan as the dad, X-23 as the daughter and Victor as the crazy uncle, with Logan and Victor having come to a very tense, reluctant truce that eventually sees Victor sacrifice himself to save the others.

I always assumed Sabretooth died in the first X-Men. But then when I thought about a character like Sabretooth with regenerative abilities similar to Wolverine, it's silly to think he would die from being kicked off the Statue of Liberty.

This theory actually makes a lot of sense. In a deleted scene of Logan, one of the x-kids asks where sabretooth is. Logan replies saying that he was experimented on " just like me " and " a lot like you kids and Laura ". So it makes sense he probably died at weapon x. Btw the scene is on the DVD and I'm sure it is online somewhere

Okay so in the movie Logan could've gone to Victor for help, to which Victor refuses, However in the Final battle against X24 Victor shows up to help Logan, just before X24 slams him on the tree. Saying either "Nobody kills you but me" or "Brothers lookout for one another". either would be a cool reference to their history. So anyway Logan would still be too wounded to heal and still die, but Victor could watch over the new wave of mutants and eventully mentor them. Which in itself would be a cool refernce to the age of apocolypse comic book series.

I distinctly remember this from the press tour. Sabretooth was supposed to be alive and kicking. He and Logan had just gone their seperate ways. He just wasnt Sabretooth anymore. Thats why Logan spoke in the past tense about him in deleted scenes.

the murumasa blade had some odd back story where it had all of Logan's rage or bad feelings (am unsure of exact explanation at the moment ) which he managed to come to terms with during his time and samurai training in Japan channelled by a master swordsmith into the blade allowing it to cut/kill anything, Logan than entrusted Cyclops with the blade for safe keeping and as a contingency plan against himself should he ever go rogue, Cyclops (upon losing a lot of his honor in a years long story arc showing his fall from grace, and one of marvels best long term character developments of recent memory) then used the sword against Logan
in the schism storyline which led to Cyclops basically becoming the new magneto, leading militant mutants against any and all threats against them, and Logan assuming the role of professor X and Cyclops seeking for mutants to peacefully coexist with humans, I am currently unaware of the swords current status or location but believe it was destroyed
@TheAppleCommunity It's called Wolverine: Evolution. It was supposed to be Wolverine's final battle with Sabretooth. It's a bloody good time, despite some weird transitions, but you have Wolverine's awesome narration to help you through it. Anyways it ends with Wolverine decapitating Sabretooth but sets him off on a journey to discover the true mastermind behind every bad thing that has happened to him.
Eventually Sabretooth is brought back to life... sort of. I won't say how unless you want me to tell you ;)

Sabretooth's physical change from X-men 1 to X-men Origins seems more like a cosmetic choice to me rather than a change rooted in the plot. If Sabretooth did actually make an appearance in Logan, I'm pretty sure the director will still opt to have Liev Shreiber reprise the role. And I honestly don't think he would look too different in comparison to his Origins look. Overall, I felt that the first X-men movie was trying to portray him a little more closer to his comic book appearance--that of a large hulking beast. Whereas in Origins, there were a number of artistic liberties taken with many of the characters....like Deadpool and, of course, Sabretooth. Since much of the X-men 1-3 timelines have been retconned, I don't think it's safe to assume that the comic book death of Sabretooth is canon.
Keep in mind, while Logan and Victor have similar powers in the comic books, Sabretooth has never devolved in the way that Logan has been shown to. Wolverine's power seems to have its own nuance unique to himself--in that without adamantium Wolverine will slowly become more and more feral. Sabretooth's power seems to have an altogether different dynamic. It's been argued during a couple of points in the comics that Sabretooth is actually a good and honest man. However, his mutation infects him with irresistible murderous tendencies. This is primarily why Sabretooth has been able to maintain his high intelligence throughout his many appearances in the comics most of the years. While he has some physical qualities of feral animals, his cunning and wit remain unaffected by his mutation. So to say that Sabretooth is also prone to devolving to a feral animal like Logan may be an erroneous assumption. In the end, despite the similarities, Wolverine and Sabretooth's powers are nonetheless different.
In addition, the retcons of Days of Future Past make it impossible to say whether or not the X-men 1-3 movies happened at all. And given that the director initially felt free to add Sabretooth to the story, it's safe to assume that Sabretooth is alive and well during Logan. And I would assume, with no adamantium in his body, Sabretooth would look close to the what he looked like in X-men Origins. Not to mention, the one reference to Sabretooth in the deleted scenes offered no conclusive evidence of his death, I would say it's not so strange to imagine that Sabretooth is alive and well--albeit long estranged from his half brother.
An additional argument, the X-men Origins plot takes place lifetimes after the births of both Logan and Victor. They both participated in the Civil War, both World Wars, and the Vietnam War. And in those many decades, Sabretooth was able to pass for human all that time. By the time the main story of Origins takes place, it's past 1975. And Sabretooth still looks quite human. In approximately 130 years and more, Sabretooth has hardly mutated. Thus, I doubt he would look drastically different in the next 100 years that pass.
Sabertooth managed to keep close contact with Wolverine even though they were separated during Origins. That's what kept him human for so long until they went their separate ways once again by the end of the film. During the 15 years between Origins and X1, Sabertooth's bloodlust and his embracing his animality has devolved him into the large primitive fiend that we know from X1.

The difference between Wolverine and Sabretooth (in the comics) is that Wolverine is constantly fighting his baser instincts and berserker rages, whereas Sabretooth embraces them (and even enjoys his 'walks on the wildside'). This makes him an intelligent, cunning and highly unpredictable person (he could save your life one minute and rip you to shreds the next!). However this also makes him a more balanced character than Logan, who is constantly struggling with his morals and his place in society (especially around friends and loved ones). To quote the man himself "Bad things happen to people I care about...". He's the Llewelyn Moss to Sabretooths Chigurh (think I spelt that right... don't come and get me, scary Bee Gee).
Sabretooth is probably still out there, it's just that Fox isn't paying attention to him right now.
Right but given the flatness of his character in the first X-Men movie and the incredibly bad reputation of the first Wolverine solo movie, I doubt we'll ever see Sabretooth again, especially now that Jackman's left the franchise

Wolverine and Sabretooth have similar healing factors. This takes care to repair and keep health their bodies. What most people don't realize is their minds are also part of that healing. When they experience massive Psychological trauma that would have devastating PTSD and other problems to the average person the mind protects itself. The reason they forget is not some external factor, but the mind dealing with a Mental Health issue. Yes, Psychological trauma is a real problem and kills many people every year. Someone else experiencing what they do would drive them to suicide in a very short period of time. I have lost loves ones to PTSD and living with them having night terrors and hearing them screaming while fully asleep it is a real disease.

It would have been AMAZING if V. Creed was in Logan. I picture this...the farm scene: Logan and X-24 and battling it out. X-24 has Logan on the ropes and is about to deal the killing blow, but something stops him. He catches a familiar scent out of the air; something from his cloned past. He scans the scenery and sees eyes, illuminated by the fire, glowing from the dark (like a lion's). Before he can react, Creed (in full feral form) pounces on X-24 and blah blah blah. Sounds kinda dumb but would have been dope on screen, I think.

Logan is in a different timeline from all the other movies with only a few similarities. Logan said there hasn't been a mutant born in 25 years, yet in DoFP, which is 6 years before, there were a bunch of teenage mutants that were clearly less than 19 years old.

I believe that Saber tooth. Is dead. Probably over the years before Logan . He searched out for Logan and fought him head on. Maybe the scars and markings on Logan's body when in the film. Is a memory of those days before and he had to leave the Country to Mexico.

Sabre tooth was captured by Ryce and he did to Sabre Tooth what Stryker couldn't, namely succeed in putting him through the weapon X program. They initially failed and ended up killing him but then managed to revive him after having fused him with Logans DNA. Enter X24, yes X24 is Sabre Tooth modified and hence why he doesn't have the same healing factor as Logan, but a slower version.

The adamantium had a much heavier toll on Sabretooth then anyone would have ever expected. So much so that he regressed all the way back to that of a sabretooth tiger. That along with his lost memories that were now so long gone he would never get them back. Sabretooth found his way to the Savage Land where he wandered for some time until he was found by Ka-Zar who gave him the new name Zabu. And thus Sabretooth was no more and Zabu was born.
Or at least that is what Deadpool says. Now where are all the chimichangas???

I think it all goes back to Sinister creating mutants in the 1800s. Would make sense that science was used to accelerate mutations leading to all the mutants of the time. Hence why Essex corp does it again, history repeats itself. But Logan and Victor would have already been born before the wave of mutants. Question is did their dad have a minor healing factor? Claws wouldn't kill him then...
Mortismors they do explain in the movie that they only stopped random genetic mutation so they could then control when they are born. also they also kind of explain that (in the comics Logan wound up killing all x-men)Charles had a incident at the institute likely involving cerebo and likely killing most known mutants at the time.

Well the X-Men trilogy was removed from the timeline by Days of future past, same with the main events of X-Men origins (save for the opening scene with james' mutation being triggered) so none of that is in the revised timeline. However, it is very possible that Creed simply lived his life on without logan. they weren't together in first class either.
Logan and Creed still served in many wars together from the Civil War to Vietnam (despite Days of Future Past placing Wolverine in New York in 1973).
Of course youu have to go all the way back to X-men Origins when he said a final goodbye to Logan and jumped off all the way from that bridge

We Are Venom , actually, Sabretooth is physically stronger then Wolverine in the comics and in the movie. He is also slightly faster. This is why he beat Wolvie so easily early on in the movie as well. Wolverine has the slightly better healing factor which allows him to survive the bonding process which now makes him even more durable. Also in the comics, wolverine is the slightly more skilled fighter. So you basically have the bigger, faster, stronger fighter vs the more durable, skilled fighter. The advantages are only slight in each ones favour with the exception of Wolvie having a much higher degree of durability because of the adamantium . This is why their battles are legendary, it could go either way and what makes each of them so formidable against much higher powered super beings.
Sabretooth and James are half brothers in the movie-verse timeline but Cain Marko and Charles are not related at all in this movie-verse???

Even if he was a big part of wolverines life he shouldn't have been in the movie. It was a small film about Logan's inner struggle, and we shouldn't have been reminded of the goofy mess that was Origins.

that's imposible because Víctor was born before the timeline changes, so nothing on the x-men history has change before logan wakes up at the 70 after the time travel
I like to think in my own headcanon that Logan and Creed's interactions after 1973 never happened because of the change in the timeline. When Logan wakes up in 1973, in my best speculation it is immediately after he has left Team X after becoming disillusioned. In the original timeline this is when he went on his own for 6 years and hooked up with Kayla. It even fits because the end of Origins is in 1979. This time however, Wolverine is never put through those events in the same way and thus never has the same interactions with Victor. Really though, some things still dont add up. For Ex, in DOFP its presented as if Wolverine has never met Stryker yet in 1973, when Origins establishes that he was in a team set up by Stryker in the late 60s that went on for several years into the early 70s, presumably ending in 1973. If they had established Stryker and Logan as already knowing each other in 1973, it all could have worked out.

There are a few problems with Origins being set in 1979:
-The original trilogy (being set in the 2000's) has established that Wolverine has suffered memory loss for 15 years meaning that the weapon X experiment was in 1985.
-The Vietnam war scene in Origins depicted the fall of Saigon from 1973-75. The fact that DOFP made it look like Wolverine hadn't met Stryker yet would mean that their prison meeting was in 1975.
-The team X mission in Africa couldn't have happened overnight because a few years may have passed since the prison meeting. Wolverine may have quit the team in 1978-79 and the "6 years later" part puts the rest of Origins in 1985.
-Xavier's cameo at the film's ending coincides with the X3 flashback scene based on the fact that he has Patrick Stewart's face instead of James McAvoy's.
-Gambit told Wolverine that he has been imprisoned on Three Mile island for 2 years and nobody has ever entered the island. That would imply the nuclear meltdown had already happened before Gambit escaped from the island.
None of that matters now that DOFP erased those moments.

Though it should be noted that Wolverine did enter a flatline state during the procedure, implying Victor's healing is not inferior but on equal levels, meaning the risk of Sabretooth entering a flatlined state was very likely, therefore Stryker would rather avoid risking a powerful soldier

Much as I like Stephen Merchant’s Caliban, I think his root was best suited for Sabretooth. With the themes of family in the movie, it’s Charles as the grandfather, Logan as the dad, X-23 as the daughter and Victor as the crazy uncle, with Logan and Victor having come to a very tense, reluctant truce that eventually sees Victor sacrifice himself to save the others.
