I have a taught a Mahler seminar at the graduate level on the first four symphonies for the last 14 years - this is by far the finest interpretation I have ever heard. It's a very very difficult song to pull off
Everytime I hear Sabine she just sounds better & better ! To the point were I would suggest she's probably the best soprano around, extant! Oh Man ...Absolutely superb!
FXR is now one of my top favorite conductors! Such lively and joyful interpretations, he yields a full and rich sound for the orchestras he works with, and the pieces he chooses are excellent as well, and always very well presented!
That was stupendous. Most sopranos just seem like they're reading notes off the page . . . but this is from deep reserves of heart & sagesse. Chapeau à tous and you can bet I'll be listening to this 200 times.
(Martz Inura)
Mahler extreme, not the only one. But the song is one of a lot of ways to Mahler. Wonderfull sung with this sentiment for Mahler's zynic-ironic-anger ( may be about himself)....?
@@traciannveno For understanding you need the german Language. The words in this song are zynic against catholic religion.. Mahler as a Jew converted and had great psychic problems with it. Also listen his song "des hl. Antonius zu Padua Fischerpredigt. The Thema of this song you hear always again in his symphonies. For anderstanding Mahler you need german language. It is not about my feelings but shows you a direction. For understanding and interpretation Mahler you need more than feelings
Coupure pub avant le dernier mouvement . Voix parfaite .
Sabine's perfect control of her voice and her beautiful timbre is unbelievable. She is the best soprano alive.

Gosh, this is extremely good. The phrasing is natural, authentic and her tone is full of core, wow.
She was born to sing this piece. Perfect.

Sabine really sang like someone recalling her childhood happiness
Her choices are always the most tasteful, the most understated, the most elegant.
Exquisitely sung: perfect diction, complete ease, pure notes, totally mindful of the simple but lovely folk text
Beautiful singing of this iconic movement.
What a beautiful performance!
Beautifully sung by the gifted soprano, Sabine Devieilhe.
A Breath of fresh air ✨💞✨💖✨
beautiful performance Sabine Devieilhe
Sabine Devieilhe is radiant
what a voice! Devieilhe really makes this Mahler 4 stand out!
Y really love this version. And Devieilhe… luminescense pure.

THIS was always my favorite. This is the first time hearing it from Sabine a 28 year old college acquaintance from the Early 90's. Supurb 💫✨💥

Where to find the sheet for voice and orchestra in A dur?

That is very understandable, because this is a recording session, not for public performance. So only the sound is important.
😅
