I've watched so many ice dancing couples over the last 50 years, many of whom have been exceptional, but this routine is in a league of its own. It just took my breath away.
So in sync with each other that their arm movements match even when they aren't looking at each other during their opening stance. Scott on bended knee in front of Tessa before kissing her hand - I died!
The epitome of grace, elegance, trust in your partner, musicality, athleticism. And who choreographs their wonderful dances? Bravo to them and all their team.
I still remember where I was and how I felt when I saw this performance for the first time. I remember thinking, "I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life!" I was completely awestruck. They are divine. This is an exemplary program on every level. There is so much to it! Out of this world.
As a casual fan of ice dancing, I used to only focusing the upper part of their body. It's so mesmerizing. Lately my focus kinda shifted towards the real part of the skating, their feet, and holy shit I just realized those footwork are so complex! Even the first 10 seconds make me so nervous. The slightest misplacement can cause disaster to both of them.
If a person truly focus on the feet, as well as the ice skaters being in unison (at the same time)... it truly is remarkable. Please allow me to mention, Torvill and Dean! Simply pick the Olympics with their names! Give them a watch (more than one, but a couple of different dances! Talk about shocking!!!
I love Moulin Rouge and all of their amazing work throughout the years but for me this piece gets me every time! It brings me to tears, it’s so beautiful!
The calmness and connect in their eyes just talking to each other before beginning like that alone made my heart skip a beat and honestly was when I realized they were gonna smash the program and get the gold
Не важно какая страна, но когда прекрасная музыка, чувственное исполнение и проникновенное катание двух талантливых лудей объединились - получился шедевр. Браво, хоть я из России. Но восхищёна.
nearly as gorgeous as the program it was based on… they and meryl+charlie are my favorite ice dancers of the modern era… the fluidity, the connection, the speed, the passion, the synchronization… they are stunning together like poetry in motion… a gorgeous tribute to the stunning g&g
That choreography was breathtakingly beautiful. I got the same feeling I had when I first saw Torville and Dean skate Bolero. They were so in synch. If they are not in love they deserve an Oscar.
Whenever I want to remind myself what perfect ice dancers look like, I come and watch this video. There’s no one like them now. They have the technique, the artistry and the EMOTION. They were born to dance on the ice and we are so lucky to have had them for 3 Olympic cycles.
When I watch them skate I can feel the emotions of their dancing in my cells. They are breathtaking to watch, they become one with the music. This is more than just skating, it nearly feels like a beautiful spiritual experience.
It is worth noting the loving air with which Scott looks and touches Tessa's body before beginning their display, a display that was a continuous dance of enchantment , and of moments of relationship between Scott and Tessa characterised by great elegance and intimate connection between them. They were simply superb.
this is my favourite thing i’ve ever watched. watching this just feels so heartwarming. it all seems so intimate. this is my favourite performance ever!! everything about it is beautiful. words cannot describe it. just magnificent.
I miss them so much, we were really blessed to witness the golden era. When ice dancing was about edges, levels, technicality matched with grace and interpretation.
Every time I watch this video is an incredible emotion... It's like watching the same person on the ice, creating poetry. And one of the most moving part is when he says at the end "thank you so much", like he was receiving instead of giving. There were absolutely beautiful.
This is such an exquisite choreography, I find myself watching it from time to time, and I'm always extremely touched by it. Few seconds in and I already have goosebumps and tears in my eyes. For me, it's their best program, such raw beauty, purity, innocence... obviously they've come a great way to improve their skills later on, but this is just IT. I'd love to see them dancing this exact choreography once again 🌻
Virtue & Moir are for me the THE BEST ICE DANCE COUPLE I've ever seen and I'm from Poland not from Canada! I remember watching Torvill & Dean later Grishuk & Platov. But now when I see T&S and try to compare them to those 2 couples or Davis&White I see a big difference between those 4 couples. T&D skated like they were a brother and a sister, G&P like a boyfriend and a girlfriend,D&W skate like best friends but T&S SKATE LIKE LOVERS THAT FOR ME MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL! Sorry for my english:)
For me, this is the best. I kept on watching it again and again.I am still mesmerized how they glided and swayed forming identical shapes. I love how Scot lifted her with so much care and affection as if she's a fragile thing to be broken when she fall. How their face radiate love as they perform. I 'll never get tired of watching it again.
this routine gives me a lot of striking proposal/wedding imagery. the white dress and collared shirt, the kneeling at the beginning, and the waltzy tempo like a first dance song. so, so beautiful!
After watching Figure Skating in Beijing Olympics 2022, I came back to watch this video of Tessa and Scott. This is still the best pair figure skating performance to beat; the emotion, synchronization, difficulty, plus the two are good looking :) The performance is magical from beginning to end.
I'm from Italy, and i'm following figure skating since 1992, but that early morning ( here in Italy was morning when they skated) of two years ago it was the first time i had teard in my eyes at the end of a program. I still get goosebumps and chills down my spine every time i watch it!!!! They really captured my heart that day, and this incredible free dance and that magical night will be in my heart forever!!
I have watched this video a couple of times and everytime i watched it i am teary eyed because of so much emotions that is resonating... I got chill and goosebumps
I wonder what they were saying to each other at the beginning? What kind of conversation would they be having in front of thousands of people like that? Fascinating.
she is the most beautiful girl I have er seen in my entire life, and he is the boy that every girl wants, look how he look at her, I love him so much.. and I love that couple and EVERYTHING
Beautiful choreography by the same lady who did Gordeeva and Grinkov's numbers. No doubt it was also a tribute to them because it the same song that Gordeeva danced to her husband died. Also, many of the poses in this dance were reminiscent of some of G&G' s performances.
2020 in the US has been rough to say the least. This program by Virtue and Moir has given me the beauty, romance, and all that is good and positive that have been missing these last several months. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
On ice skating rink so many performers came, did good, so many would come in future, but Tessa and Moir, the duo would certainly remain on ice skating rink, may be not physically, but in the air and in the hearts of millions, forever........never to end, never to former chapter, even after their absence from the world. Geniuses are always scanty by nature.
I was about grade 6 when i watched this on our cable here in the Philippines. Now that ive found it here again in youtube after so many years. My God! SO MAGICAL AND SUPERB! THEY are like two lover spirits dancing on ice and we were just invited to watch their love dance.
I NEEDED to watch them again to capture the beauty and grace that I find lacking in this year's Ice Dancing Olympics. My husband tapped me on the shoulder and reminded me to breath because I become so engrossed in their performances.
Currently watching this because today was amazing and tomorrow will be as well. Happy Olympics, Tessa and Scott. Canada is with you every step of the way!!
Como alguém pode dar deslike a uma apresentação sublime, perfeita e espetacular como essa. Só pode ser inveja. Eu nunca vi algo tão lindo em minha vida! Dois anjos flutuando no gelo!
I really love how, as time has progressed, Scott has become much more open, connective and expressive when the performance is over. He and Tessa have started continuing their connection even after the music stops and the skate is over, really solidifying the performance. And Tessa seems to respond more to his increased level of engagement. They truly are out on the ice - together-
As I am watching this video a while ago I feel happy and sad. Happy in the sense that I will always see and remember their greatest performance. As they perform, their facial expressions radiates love and affection that's why fans mistook it for love with one another. Sad because they are now retired and not destined with each other but they will leave a legacy to the skating world.I'll never be tired of watching this video. As of this time I'm watching it again. Fr. the Philippines.
This is one of my favorite works of art of all time. watching it for the first time since the 2018 olympics though made me see that even though they’ve been the best in the world for their entire career, they’ve improved so much!!! #goat #legends
Tessa has such beautiful eyes... sparkling with light. And they dance so effortlessly (apparently, of course), they seem to glide through air as if gravity didn't matter.
Superb athleticism and artistry, not to mention partnership and awareness of and trust in partner, not to mention choreography and musicality and passion and commitment to the program and each other. Sigh...just superb.
This was so beautiful...I have goosebumps all over my body and can't stop tears from coming to my eyes. Thank you for this performance, Canada! From Russia with love 💕
If I get down, I can watch this and be lifted into a happier world. In the first viewing my eyes will focus on Tessa; when I repeat it, my eyes will focus on Scott. Truly a pair made in heaven. Speaking of heaven, I hope there's ice skating there.

4:22-4:34 is the most beautiful 12 seconds of skating I’ve ever seen.
I see him taking control and passionately allowing her to fly...or something. It's difficult to put into words!

Q
a solo performance amazes me on its own but to be this coordinated with another person is just on another level impressive
I love Moulin Rouge and all of their amazing work throughout the years but for me this piece gets me every time! It brings me to tears, it’s so beautiful!
3:38 my jaw actually dropped at that
Metoo
Same here...
The calmness and connect in their eyes just talking to each other before beginning like that alone made my heart skip a beat and honestly was when I realized they were gonna smash the program and get the gold
This is so beautiful it almost hurts.
Не важно какая страна, но когда прекрасная музыка, чувственное исполнение и проникновенное катание двух талантливых лудей объединились - получился шедевр. Браво, хоть я из России. Но восхищёна.
The best compliment I ever heard that described the dancing of S&T came from a fellow skater who said "They're like a fairytale". Indeed they are.
How are you mam?
nearly as gorgeous as the program it was based on… they and meryl+charlie are my favorite ice dancers of the modern era… the fluidity, the connection, the speed, the passion, the synchronization… they are stunning together like poetry in motion… a gorgeous tribute to the stunning g&g
Tessa and Scott skated so flawlessly, love watching them and could watch both all day and all night.
this is my favourite thing i’ve ever watched. watching this just feels so heartwarming. it all seems so intimate. this is my favourite performance ever!! everything about it is beautiful. words cannot describe it. just magnificent.
Even after 2014 and 2018, this is still my favourite ice dance performance ever.
These two are surreal. Out of this world. They make me watch their performances again and again, years after the performance.
I miss them so much, we were really blessed to witness the golden era. When ice dancing was about edges, levels, technicality matched with grace and interpretation.
It will never be the same without them competing...
So beautiful~~~
Best performance ever!
An incredible work of art on ice. A dream couple on the ice. Thank you Tessa and Scott for all your beautiful breathtaking programs.
this routine gives me a lot of striking proposal/wedding imagery. the white dress and collared shirt, the kneeling at the beginning, and the waltzy tempo like a first dance song. so, so beautiful!
After watching Figure Skating in Beijing Olympics 2022, I came back to watch this video of Tessa and
Scott. This is still the best pair figure skating performance to beat; the emotion, synchronization, difficulty, plus the two are good looking :) The performance is magical from beginning to end.
hey sorry to break it to you but tessa virtue is dating a professional hockey player for the toronto maple leafs named morgan rielly!!
So
how the hell was it morning when they skated if you were in italy….. canada is hours back in timezones
@@itsflowerside this was at night in Vancouver, in Italy it was the morning of the next day
I have watched this video a couple of times and everytime i watched it i am teary eyed because of so much emotions that is resonating... I got chill and goosebumps
It's 2019 and I still got goosebumps watching this performance.
Pauline Weber I thought the same thing, that it was a tribute. Pulled on the heart strings.
It was a tribute .. you are right. Zueva told about it
it's as if he comes to her after a long separation, she greets him with gratitude and love and they go skating together in a dream...so beautiful
3:46 I can’t be the only one who thought they kissed, right?
Yes !!!
A little Kiss!
😍
Just a soft little kiss....
Brenda Pascale o
Wow!! They are wonderful! They look like a prince and a princess who, in love, dance on the clouds sorrounded by an aura of magic and sweetness.❤️
Their smile at the end of the routine is everything
2020 in the US has been rough to say the least. This program by Virtue and Moir has given me the beauty, romance, and all that is good and positive that have been missing these last several months. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Uma dupla de patinadores magnífica! Prendem nossos olhos na beleza de sua apresenração. Parabéns para ambos!

It is such a delight to watch these two perform! ❤
Como alguém pode dar deslike a uma apresentação sublime, perfeita e espetacular como essa. Só pode ser inveja. Eu nunca vi algo tão lindo em minha vida! Dois anjos flutuando no gelo!
There’s still beauty in this world
I really love how, as time has progressed, Scott has become much more open, connective and expressive when the performance is over.
Блестящее выступление! Очень чувственно,музыкально, грациозно. Браво!💖👍
Je regarde chaque semaine,un baume pour le cœur.
This is one of my favorite works of art of all time. watching it for the first time since the 2018 olympics though made me see that even though they’ve been the best in the world for their entire career, they’ve improved so much!!! #goat #legends
Tessa is so graceful, beautiful, elegant and gorgeous... OMG, how I adored this couple.
it's extremely beautiful, it's unmatched it's unforgettable...
iconic
I swear they are like fairytale, so graceful, magical, beautiful, soft, tender
Бравооо!!! Какое катаниеееее!!!! Какая парааа!!!! Отдельный поклон операторам !!!!! )
The performance is stunningly beautiful and touching, the two bodies are fused into one..
Tessa has such beautiful eyes... sparkling with light. And they dance so effortlessly (apparently, of course), they seem to glide through air as if gravity didn't matter.
This kind of chemistry can't be real. I'm floored by these two!
I'm not crying, you're crying.
That was simply beautiful. Royalty.
Never get tired of watching ice skating by Tessa n Scott wow
🇮🇳🙏🙏❤
3:00 i just keep replaying this part because it's so smooth and Tessa is so graceful and light with her arm movements and knee bend 😍
Literally the heat of ther skating ⛸️ is melting the 🧊. ✨️✨️💛
This is what winners skate like! They skate and interact with such grace and passion like they’re in love. ❤
If I get down, I can watch this and be lifted into a happier world. In the first viewing my eyes will focus on Tessa; when I repeat it, my eyes will focus on Scott. Truly a pair made in heaven. Speaking of heaven, I hope there's ice skating there.
Tessa and Scott, you are two God gifted artists. You two make me so proud of being Canadian. Bravissimo. May God bless and keep you in His love for ever.
