What I really love about this interpretation is that the oboe does not always try to sound soft and beautiful, and rather tells the story behind the pieces. I think I can hear the dominance and passion of Pan's unfulfilled desire, while other interpretations focus on softness to represent love in the first piece, and the fearful fleeing of Arethusa in the beginning of the last piece, while often oboists try to depict rather sparkling water droplets.
