@@PureDetour Yes, you are right. Coconut by itself is sweet or sweetish. But salt (just a bit..)is almost always added to coconut or any coconut product like santan, even in sweet cakes. This is like a rule in local cooking. Salt is used to 'bring out the creamy sweetness of our dish'

Hello Prohodaction! What did you think of the food we ate?
What you ate is probably less than 5 % of Malaysian food. It takes years to visit all states to sample them.
We are so excited to keep trying more of the Malaysian food as we continue to travel around this amazing country. What is your #1 favourite Malaysian dish? We'll look for it and try it!
@@PureDetour there are many fav..but you ate both already which are satay and nasi lemak. I like laksa eg curry paksa, nyonya laksa, asam laksa. Of course i also love dim sum
Oooh, I like those things too.
How do you keep from gaining weight❤
We are gaining weight! You should see my belly right now, lol. Do you have any workout tips? Because we can't stop eating all this delicious food 🤤

The guide must warn the 2 foreign guests to be careful with the seeds of the fruits,,, it appears that the man swallowed the seed of the longan fruit
Haha. That was just a cut to shorten the shot that was taken. I assure you I did not eat the seed. 😂

Corn drink?!? Do you like it? We never tried.
@@PureDetour it’s quite popular here. Usually sold at stalls where they have huge containers of multicoloured drinks, corn is the yellow one. I looike
@@ZulOthmanJulod ...syrup bandung is more common
Mi goreng mamak
😋
Otak-otak
This was our first time trying this!
Coconut does not give sweetness, it is salty sir.
Hi! I understand what you're saying, but I guess it depends on the dish, sometimes they add sweet and sometimes salty. But I feel it has a sweetness to it
@@PureDetour
Yes, you are right. Coconut by itself is sweet or sweetish. But salt (just a bit..)is almost always added to coconut or any coconut product like santan, even in sweet cakes. This is like a rule in local cooking. Salt is used to 'bring out the creamy sweetness of our dish'
@@PureDetour Yes, coconut is kind of mild sweetness. And it gives umami flavour. If I cook fish curry and coconut added; you do not have to put sugar. It has its own sweetness
Apam Balik, not Apam Baliak
Hi, the dish is called Apam Balik, but the stall name was Apam Baliak, which is funny, because when I put it into google translate means "What's up?" 😊 Is that right?
@@PureDetour NOPE.
@@khairulazhar8118 Thanks for clearing that up, lol
Recommend to wear more "close" attire 🧕
😂 Imagine I wore everything that some stranger on the internet suggested I wear.
@@PureDetour This fundamentalist weirdo has been doing this all over KL videos. Did my bit and thumbed down 😤
