This is the first time I have seen this version. I'm a UK citizen that has lived in Australia for the last 15 years. I used to love listening to the Live Lounge on BBC Radio 1 when I lived in the UK. Because I now live in Australia, I was about 2 years late in first hearing the Live Lounge Allstars version of this. I loved it! When I saw the Foo Fighters play live here a few months ago, they played the slow acoustic version for the first couple of verses. I'm nearly 60 years old and I was in tears! As you say, it is both an anthem and an "ode to life as we know it nowadays".
You're legendary when you can carry a song along, just an acoustic guitar, a microphone, nothing more. Very few artists today could do what Dave Grohl makes look easy.
This Man has the unique ability to "Get you" with both an amazing acoustic version ..... and a huge arena version of the same song! Dave Grohl I love you!!!

A truly great song can be sung in many different ways and this is a perfect example of how to do it. The guitar sound is superb and Dave's voice carries the words and makes them hang in the air. A great song.

Sick from drug use currently thinking about horrible things... I have Kept it a secret from everyone in my life, family, work and friends except my wife and currently she is about to leave. But somehow for some reason she is still here trying to help after 8 years. 8 years of horrible things and she is still here. 8 years of moving, 8 years of, starting over again, 8 years of lies. 8 years of hell....... we moved from jersey to Florida because I didn't want to come up positive for a drug test for heroin. words can't explain the guilt I feel. Putting someone I love threw so much pain. So glad that music like this exsist. Trying to find a rehab for really cheap or even better....free and fix my life. I just had to tell somebody, trying my hardest to do the right thing. I love you ashley
