The only thing that could’ve made this better is his daughter joining them on stage. Dave is about as epic as it gets. Flawed like all of us, yet he stands in the storm and pushes through. Truly one of my all time favorites and everything the man has written, performed and those he’s worked with, incredible.

This is SO life-affirming! I love that Dave brought up Billie wearing the Taylor shirt at her Grammy performance. It's SO heartbreaking to hear how the whole FF fam was at Dave's that night to feel that love OPEN the Grammy broadcast. Dave's daughter was a huge Billie fan from early on, and Dave noted that Billie conveys feelings that her audience all relate to....just like what he saw while a young dude in Nirvana. As a man who is nearly in his 40's who has grown up on Nirvana and the Foos and also with an 8 year old son who worships Billie....this hit me hard. Great performance of a wonderful song. Taylor would have approved!
Billie Eilish is honestly just a class above all the other artists in her genre, she's so young and so talented, and yet so humble and respectful of the artists that paved the way for her.
She's really not either of those things. She had parents with connections to the music industry. That's pretty much it. I'm sure some braindead dolt would say the same thing about you if your step dad was quincy jones.

Hoe the f... she's getting away with it can't sing at all dave you must be hard up to be on stage with this shite
@@jismism9515 LMAO he's a rock n roll legend thats undeniable
@@jismism9515 The dude is in the Rock n Roll hall of fame with TWO BANDS, not one, but TWO. I'd say he is a legend at this point.
They sound so good together, I'd kill for them to make a record
You never know. Dave loves collaborating with other musicians.
Billie & Violet would make an amazing duo as well.
How ironic you'd say that as them singing this was a tribute to somebody who died
@@bobtausworthe Far fetched...
No need for that, thanks.
CHILLS when Billie hits that harm on "ordinary" damn this is good, like so good!
ok i gotta admit a full cover of my hero by billie ellish is something I did not think I needed so badly
So one of the many things I love about Grohl is that (nowadays LOL) he's not on some elitist BS where he wouldn't play a song with a Pop star. I 've heard a lot about Eilish, she seems like a cool kid. It's great to just see them together!
She hates being called a pop star. It's pop that's riding her star now.
@@whataboutthesituation1273 at least they are entertaining, unlike your comment
Right? Prince, Justin Timberlake, Tom Petty, Lady Gaga, Lorde, Norah Jones. Paul McCartney, Cat Power, The bangles, The Rolling Stone’s, George Michael, Tenacious D, QOTSA, Zac Brown Band, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon, Cage The Elephant, Nine Inch Nails, Rick Astley, Ben Gibbard, THE MUPPETS?!!…. No Pop stars in there, no none at all 😂😂 . Maybe it’s you that’s on the elitist BS.
@what about the situation sounds like you need the attention, well that’s all you get from me lol
She's into that stupid satanic imagery though.
Music truly does transcend all barriers in the right hands. This is 2 musicians loving what they do, great to hear.
Problem is Billy is some low standards to music contributions.
That's a baseless opinion, think of how many concert'goers of that age would even know many bands that started in the nineties?
Theyre a good fit, theyre doing eachother a service and theyre giving the fans a chance.
One musician she can't sing at all or play any instrument any good
@@raymondvaughan6262 😂 here we are again with someone who knows nothing about music, especially soft music and soft singer .. or jazz.. sorry for you btw she can sing and she can play piano, guitar and ukulele, she directs and edits her music videos. she studied every type of dance: tap dance, classic ballet dance, contemporary dance Etc she is a gymnast (aerobics), she is the scenographer of her shows, she is a designer she draw her music videos, her style Etc everything! She even create her own brand everything since she was only 15/16 years old. And you ? What about you? I’m music teacher, composer and I also help emerging artists. You?

Dave and Billie's harmonies are hauntingly beautiful on this one.
I'm a grown ass man, and I found myself wiping tears from my eyes about halfway through this rendition. Unbelievable talent from both. It's like you can almost feel Kurt singing thru Dave.
I did the same thing 😢
Right? Wtf... 😅
The fact that they're singing this to Taylor Hawkins is just a testament to how much he is loved and missed.
Ok, as an old lady I’ve wondered for years what’s the big thing about this girl…I get it now after watching this! Such an amazing rendition!
Here too..at my 33s....now i got it
I get it. I love Billie. A true original talent. And I’m older than her parents, just to show that she appeals across generations.
Welcome to team Eilish. The music is good over hear. Just FYI, she doesn’t use auto-tune.
Exactly this! I thought the same. My daughter talks about her and I saw no big deal, but this!!! Oh my gosh she is up there with the biggest artists out there! ❤️
I’m 50 and I have always enjoyed her music.
I've seen Foo Fighters live. They were amazing. This was a beautiful tribute to Taylor Hawkins. Billie's harmony was on fire. Live this!
The entire venue joining in for the chorus was amazing. Billie’s voice is beautiful as always. Lovely tribute to a lovely man.
Lovely drummer and man not her brilliant voice she can't sing overrated shite put her on stage with a west end singer then see just cheap pop
WOW...Dave said that he, his family & the rest of everyone at his house began to cry as she sang that tribute to Taylor at the Grammys, I just started BAWLING in tears at the end of this performance,
Dave has experienced all the highs and lows of the music business. He still seems to be grounded. God bless him, his family, and the Foos.
Man Billie is talented but Dave has decades of pain and memories behind that song... Nothing will ever replace him. Amazing moment for the both of them, and Billie took a beautiful folk sounding harmony. Great clip dude thank you!
Nirvana's music resonated with me and my peers, and now our children are fans of Billie and Nirvana. Keep going, Dave! You are so loved and appreciated. Thanks for this beautiful duet, Billie!
Generations united🥺🥰💗
Man I’m glad to see Dave out and about ngl I hope he’s doing okay,
I hope the rest of the foos and their families are doing well too
Billie's face says it all. This was a magical, very special moment....and a very cool one. 😎 Bravo.
They harmonize really well on the chorus. it sounds great
As a man who is nearly in his 40's who has grown up on Nirvana and the Foos and also with an 8 year old son who worships Billie....this hit me hard. Great performance of a wonderful song. Taylor would have approved!
Whoever took this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
Billie Eilish is honestly just a class above all the other artists in her genre, she's so young and so talented, and yet so humble and respectful of the artists that paved the way for her.
Such a breath of fresh air. Completely changed popular music in 2019 and continues to. She's everything I wished out of super mainstream artists.
I wish other popular mainstream artists would honor the one's before them
Can u give an example of lower class artists in her genre ?
She's really not either of those things. She had parents with connections to the music industry. That's pretty much it. I'm sure some braindead dolt would say the same thing about you if your step dad was quincy jones.
Very well said i couldnt agree more.
this performance literally had me in tears. The song alone is so beautiful, and has so much meaning because the song is dedicated to Kurt Cobain. its just so beautiful like words cannot describe.
My hero isn't dedicated to Kurt Cobain, Dave said it in an interview
@@marcosomominThe guy who produced the song said Dave told him it was about Kurt.
For the millionth time, it’s not about kurt
I don't think I'll ever be able to scroll past this video without watching it. This has to be over 20 times now.
Dave Grohl is connected to so many different styles and genres of music. He's been a rockstar for over 3 decades and still reaches out to younger generations of music every chance he gets. You can't not love the guy.
There is a crazy amount of mutual respect on display here between these 2 musicians!
Thanks for recording and sharing this, I was down on the floor singing every word and bawling my eyes out, Dave Grohl is my hero, and it was a complete shock to see him walk on stage. An unbelievable moment, thanks again.

Wow

@@markxv2267 Are you okay? You don't seem like you're okay.
I had to stop what I was doing to hear Billie sing! Didn’t know her voice was so good ‼️
This. This is stripped down, raw beauty. DAVE Grohl is so supernatural yet so very human. So much talent. What an amazing life I don't know how he keeps it together for every performance. Rip Taylor. Dave... you are MY hero. Peace ✌
Thank you for posting this. I would have missed this amazing moment😊
Very moving performance and Billie's harmonies are so spot on and beautiful.
I’m in Dave’s generation and I’m a huge Billie fan. Such a beautiful thing to see them bridging people together through the love of music, or the music of love. ❤
Fully bawling my eyes out 😭😭 I love Billie and Dave so much and love them even more for doing this. Taylor Hawkins forever ❤️
Lol pls
wow. what a legendarily good version of this song. Chills. hats off to both Dave and Billie, I loved it. RIP Kurt and Taylor
Apart from the beautiful duet, I would like to pay my respects to the OP for having such a perfect zoom. ❤
My daughter (13 yrs old) was tasked by her English teacher to write and perform a speech about someone who is courageous. She chose to do her speech about Dave. Needless to say, she got an A+ on her assignment.
i never thought a duet with dave and billie would bring me to tears but here we are
As an old man (54) Billie is the real deal. Not only a talented singer, but a songwriter and a true individual, meaning that I think/hope she'll follow her own path and we'll follow.
Dave is everywhere. The world just loves Dave Grohl..for good reason :)
I pray for peace and healing for all those who loved Taylor. Especially his family and the Foo family. What a beautiful, emotional, authentic moment. Rest sweet Taylor. 💔
I'm taking an exam on about 20 minutes and here I am, crying while watching an absolutely precious performance. Thanks for sharing.
OMG! This is a real one! Got the goosebumps and everything.
You can tell how happy Dave Grohl is to hear his song sung by another generational voice.
Also the harmonies 🙌
Oh man. From someone who was there for this performance, it was so insane and other worldly to experience such a legend on stage. An experience I am so grateful for.
this actually brought tears to my eyes xxx so much love for Dave, Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Billie is next level talent. What a duo!
I am a 45 year old. When I heard this version, I was crying out loud! Both of them are just class acts, laying all out there. Phenomenal! And what a tribute to Taylor! He was such a better version of Dave himself live! A master!!!! Loved it!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Guh-ayyyyyye!
This recent trend of "I'm 97 years old and..." is so fucking cringe. Nobody cares how old you are. Enjoy the music. Comment on the music.

I watched foo fighter in Chile a couple of days before Taylor’s death, and Billie eilish is the only artist that remains on my have to watch before I die list, having this song recorded so I can watch it is just amazing
I took my 14 & 15 yr old daughters to see Billie last year. Bought the tickets in 2019 for 2020 tour. They had kinda moved on from her by the time we got to see the show, but she blew us all away! Billie was a master at connecting with 15,000 girls and about 1,000 dads. We all enjoyed it. 🤘
I love the love and admiration these two obviously have for each other. Music really does span the generations.
For Dave to go back to the same venue that they had Taylor’s memorial concert 3 months ago and sing my hero is simply brave. Rip Taylor ❤️
Brought me to tears. I lost my dad a few months ago and he loved this song.
Their voices pair up really nice they could studio record this it would probably break spotify and iTunes for downloads
Omg though the sadness and gratitude. Bittersweet and beautiful
Billie's smile is so warm and lovely. She has such a beautiful energy. God bless her.
I’m not crying, you’re crying!! This is the best video ever. I’m so thankful you shared this moment. It’s was amazingly beautiful. ❤
as someone who's grown up listening to rock music including foo fighters with my dad, then getting into billie eilish in 2017 makes me and my dad happy because he knows i listened to billie for years and i've listened to foo fighters with him
Dave never disappoints. All around good guy, rare type of celebrity.
This version is a masterpiece. Goosebumps.
dave grohl has been through so much losing two of his closest friends in 2 seperate bands its so nice to see that he hasnt quit music after all of that
This hits so different growing up with FOO. I love seeing the artists of my generation on stage with the ones from the new generation. Music is love PEROIT!
OH MY GOD. Haven't even watched it, but I know this will be awesome! I'm a Millenial who lived through Nirvana and Foo Fighters. Billie's a pure voice of her Generation, just like Kurt was. Love that she and Dave played one of my fav songs! Lovely tribute to Taylor, and Kurt.
Just a guitar and two voices.
And still there's everything you need and all the feels you could feel in there.
Music is the most wonderful thing we have in the universe.
This is just awesome. Both of my favorites artists, singing for my favorite drummer. Priceless
When this song first came out , it my eyes leak . I lost my father at that time so I was very emotional , I connected this tune to that memory and it hits that memory ever since . Billie is a great artist and the beautiful twist she put in with Grohl brought those tears back like the first time I heard this song . Music is beautiful , R.I.P Dad
Ah man that was sick. Mahalos for sharing that...foo fighters are one of the bands I grew up with...what a fkn treat. Such a sick performance 🤘🏼
They need to do a studio version of this
I need to hear Billie do a full version of this honestly
Billie's harmonies are so beautiful in this
the way she is just enjoying herself in his presence says more that any true words.
Its like this is the meeting between two generations and the passing down of the torch from one to another. Such a powerful performance.
Exactly 💯 im here for him and im not billie generation..im right at the middle!!! Wow
