- What a year it has been. I was able to fly a 1936 Ryan ST from Ohio to Alabama. A new owner recently bought this Ryan in the Dayton Ohio area and I was blessed enough to ferry the aircraft to him. This Ryan is the only ST flying in the world. I made this video to talk about some of the flying characteristics and to do a walk around. #aircraft #Pilot #aviationlovers #vintageaircraft #deweydavenport #grandchampion

Every now and then an aircraft builder will come out with one Aircraft that strikes all the aesthetic cords, the Ryan ST is that machine
This plane was once owned by my Uncle Ev Cassagneres. I remember it as a child…good memories. It looks beautiful!
His book "The New Ryan" stayed under my pillow for over a month!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!
It's hard to imagine how much time, effort and love has been put into this plane .. the outcome is just amazing! 👍👍
The aircraft is actually more impressive in person.
That oil safety switch is fantastic.
Looks fast sitting on the ground! What a beautiful airplane and restoration. Thanks for the video!
What a beauty! Variants and production numbers from Wikipedia:
ST - Prototype and first model, Menasco B4 engine, 95 hp; five built
ST-A - Improved ST designed for aerobatics, Menasco C4 engine, 125 hp; 73 built
ST-A - Super-charged Menasco C4S engine, 150 hp, 10 built
Thanks for the tour!
This bird is just awesome beautiful... Would love to fly one ....
Thx for directing me to the walk around. Only 5 built, surprising. Just an awesome restoration.
See the aircraft in person is even more impressive.
@DeweyDavenport To see your Travel Air in person would be even more impressive. What a wingspan! 5 people onboard with only 220hp? Ever thought of STC for 300hp jacobs? Sure runs great in the two Cessna195's I've been in.
On my list in Third place as The Most Beautiful Airplane Ever Built, only behind the Beechcraft Staggerwing and the Spartan Executive. Glorious airplane!!! Welcome back Dewey!!! Missed ya man.
Wow what a peach 👀. Thanks for the tour
Talk about a head turner!! WOW. Thanks for the video.
Glad to see you back!!
I have a Ryan PT22 but the STA is one of the most beautiful planes built. 👍🏻😁
Goodness me..... What a pure... and Beautiful.... Creation *
Great Video, Dewey! Also, it was great to see you a month ago. Loved the tour of you operation. Your bud, WayneO!!
Wow! She's so beautiful. The video was great, like being right there. Truly a labor of love.
Very fine. My favorite bird. Working on my 2nd model at 1/4 scale. First one is a 1/6th scale…sounds like They fly the same as full size!
Great video

Thanks for watching.
the metal work on the cowling and covers is really pretty... glad to see it in good shape. Happy landings.
Hey Dewey, I try and watch all your videos whenever I can. Your passion for aviation is always awesome to watch!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Maxime. Wish I had more time to edit and share with you all.
I saw one in Santa Paula many years ago. Turned out she'd been "restored" from a few remaining bulkheads and a data plate. Still a beautiful aircraft though.
Well done buddy.
Hey Dewey, finally spelled able, lol, looks like my champ should be delivered this week
Ain't she sweet! 👍
Great walk- around video Dewey. What is the plate riveted to the inside of the fuselage just aft of the throttle quadrant?
This plane epitomizes "ramp appeal"! I don't know if planes are permitted to be "sexy"; if they are, this plane is just that. . .
I totally agree
I'd imagine it must great with the 150hp engine instead.
I always thought the Manasco Powered ST's where designated as STM?
I remember seeing similar aircraft at the Upland, CA (Cable) airport in years past.... Maybe they were replicas...? or slightly different model?
Too pretty to fly… 👍🏻
I agree.
Ryan st?
Saw that fuel guage it looks full
