  • We're building electric longboards at work and we are seeing how much of the longboard we can 3D print. First step, the trucks and hangers. Logan assembles the board and takes it for a test ride.
    Materials - CF Nylon
    Infill - 100% (solid)
    Print time - 1h 15m

You would need flat washers in the bushing seat to else it would rub and turn pretty poorly

hello, do you sell the plans? Durability? Thanks

IMO with 3D printing trucks, the issue is the bushing seat stiffness.

How was it? Can we get a review of the end result?

Yea for sure. We'll release a video later, but the gist is this. The trucks feel super light, and we still need to work on the geometry. Turning is really slow, but that's to be expected since we borrowed the design from downhill trucks. We're working with Longboard Living in Toronto Canada on the turning performance.

@@PantheonDesign I suggest dialing it in with 1.5mm - 4mm of rake, probably choose a pivot to mock like the K5 especially since you have the tech to easily fit a riptide replacement into the baseplate.
I’d also suggest either venom or venom talls comparability (.990” dia seat at tightest, 1.000” at loosest, and preferably a .30”-100”depth bushing seat)
Smaller trucks seem to like more rake with like DH slaloms being 8mm of rake, K4s being ~170mm 4 (or 6 if earlier), and Paris being ~2.5mm rake for example.
I do suggest also making your design without the cutouts since it is still a plastic, and not like a true carbon fiber + resin. While it is strong it’s not strong enough for use with DH/Freeride type riding or freestyle especially.

@@PantheonDesign also, side note, if you can manage, use a 1/16” steel plate to use as the flat on your bushing seat for better response, or you can do like the rogues do with an insert. (I would size it for the riptide inserts to make use of WFB or KRANK formula inserts)
