Anyone else notice she's wearing the same makeup look as the music video? Timeless
nice
You’re not alone 😅❤🎉
But she isn't 20 anymore
and the choreography from the music video made me so happy
Yessss! Seems time haven't passed on her ❤❤❤❤
I’m here for the renaissance of Sophie . She’s an icon and very underrated
x2
I'm SO happy for her.
Finally having the recognition that she deserves :,D
@@DaveLombardo77what? She was very famous in her prime
She’s not underrated.. she was famous in her prime
@@Sineadhawk I know, but she wasn't ... I mean like a Lady Gaga.
That she could be easily invited to performance in The Academy Awards...
You know what I mean?
Love her. She's such a class act
THE GREEN EYE MAKEUP WILL ALWAYS BE ICONIC!!!
Only she can pull it off!!! Love you Sophie!!💕💕✨✨
yessss where is my class of 2004 people 😂
@@yourcelebrityangle 2003. Close enough lol
she sounded so nervous but still smashed it. Glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves
Thank god she sings live!
Nervous? She's been a performer for over 20 years I'm sure she's already overcame that
@@rocklover3300Tell me you're not an artist without telling me you're not an artist. Even when you have a lot of experience you might feel anxious and nervous, that doesn't go away, plus she hasn't done it in a live big audience, specially in these type of shows in a long time, plus, she did sound nervous at the beginning of the song, but she sounded great.
She does have that verbrato sound though that's all wobbly 😊
Sounded nervous? Whilst most likely lip syncing?
It seems that the years have not passed, she looks beautiful and sings so beautifully!
She looks exactly the same. She's a class act!
Who is queen never lost her Majesty .
She’s had at least 5 kids if not 6 in the meantime too
she looks the sameeeeeee . i still like the songs since it came out....
My jaw literally dropped. It's so weird, feels like i traveled back in time and i'm a kid again
She sounded nervous but yet she overcame her fear and kept going. Not easy to make a comeback but she did it.
She is not nervous; her voice has anatural warble.
I think its fair to say she looks SPECTACULAR 22 years on. Wow
So ppl of the UK, when are you gonna finally give her the no 1 single she so deserves with this one?
How it hasn't happened yet is ridiculous after the Saltburn boost.
She already had one with Groovejet
@@DIANAROSS4EVER True but arguably this is a better song. It's also more 'hers' with less colloboration.
@@osric190It was co written with Gregg Alexander who co wrote most of Adele's biggest hit songs.
@@osric190 No way. Groovejet is genre defining. MotDF is a great song but it's not Grooejet.
What i love is Sophie always sings in a strong British accent. 👌🏾👍🏾
Ah yes, that famous "British accent", like people from Glasgow and Cornwall sound exactly the same.
Twarty comment of the night
@@TheOrlandoTrustfull I know you are trying to make a point but it must be hard for you to express yourself 👍🏾.
South east England accent. Did you want me to specify postcodes Professor Higgins?
English accent, no such thing as a British accent
It’s because she talks her words mainly . Doesn’t sing them
I love that she always stomps her foot in the first chorus! She’s been doing it since the original release of the song
I have always do the same when hearing this song. I used to watch her music video in a copilation that my parents had with early 2000s hits, and that stomp has been engrained in my brain since
Her lack of grace while "dancing" is iconic and probably one of her best trademarks.
Even in the music video, she is very obviously not the best dancer which is why her winning is all the more amazing
It's definately her thing. But the choreography here was jaw droppingly good. To co-ordinate 10-15 people doing individual moves, which all come together as a fascinating, collective view is just amazing. And to style it in the "Saltburn" theme too - just fantastic. The choreography and the great song both held Sophie's rather "still" physical performance together.
Its grace on her disgrace. ❤
Her dancing is like Dua Lipa’s before she learned to dance
@@kellyhere2031 I still think Dua Lipa can't dance....
Love how this song chnaged her life 22 years ago and continues to do so!
1998 - 2002 had endlessly brilliant timeless dance classics. This is one of them…
❤❤❤❤
It’s a Fricking awesome song😻😻😻😻😻🤟🤟🤟smashed it!😎❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥!! When it was released 2001 = i would have been 10!🤯!
Can you recommend some similar to this one?
@@saira9466 Check out "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" by Spiller feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The video is also on TH-cam and was originally released around the same time as this song.
Best era for music!
I was at school with her (younger than her but she was one of ‘those girls’ who everyone looked up to and was obsessed with. She was funny, cool and STUNNING. SO happy for this next chapter of her life and career!
That's cool
How the hell she is just as majestic as 20 years ago. Love Sophie ✨🔥
david tennant is so charismatic as a presenter
can cut off those 3 last words and the sentence is still true! :D
Shame he has to show off his bigoted Scottish nationalism.
@@President44259 so he's not allowed to wear anything traditionally scottish??
@@elevensbox Let's see what happens if the next presenter wears something traditionally English.
@@President44259 I don't get it. What's wrong?
"Murder on the dancefloor" is such a banger and Sophie is just the nicest. I'm happy for her.
She sure is, met her twice, always lovely
An extremely underrated artist, she truly deserves this resurgence.
22 years, you'd think she'd have aged.
This song and Sophie doesn't aged ❤
SHE IS A LEGENDDD
She's definitely aged. Not sure what you're on about.
You definitely need glasses if you think she did not age. She’s still beautiful for her age though.
Age not aged
@@albertissa1989enjoy it. Envy is bad for your skin complexion
Those backup dancers were giving it there all. Great performance Sophie absolutely slayed ❤❤
Yessss! Excellent performance by both Sophie and the dancers! She probably couldn't move that much to focus on the singing (and maybe because of the dress), but the performance is never boring thanks to the dancers and direction.
Their not there. You’re welcome.
the green eye shadow speaks ICONIC!!! VERY MUCH she's amazing
Excuse me, could someone tell me HOW does she look exactly the same as 20 YEARS AGO? I need to get the same skincare routine!
I love how David Tennant dresses.
She deserves the number 1 spot in official charts with this performance❤
Incredible pipes. Sings live better than most!
20 years ago I was 19 and in love with this song/video playing over and over again on MTV.
20 years later and here I am to witness new generation enjoying MOTD rebirth. 💙
It was 23 years ago…guess you missed math classes while watching mtv much
This song will forever be a jam, kudos to Saltburn for introducing it to a new generation! ❤
Let me guess you're that generation 😅
Except that 25-30-years-old already knew that song
I know its wonderful isnt it the song is getting a second life
New cemented as a multigenerational icon
Since I've seen her kitchen disco videos during the pandemic (which helped a lot when you're alone in your flat sitting in front of a computer for months) I knew she would be back. And here she is!
Same here. ❤
Me too: loved them so much
She's still wearing that beautiful blue eyeshadow! It really suits her.
Possibly the most iconic voice of house and dance music in the 2000s. Glad to have her back in the spotlight.
What about Kylie?
Obviously didn't get out muxh
I think its fair to say she looks SPECTACULAR 22 years on. Wow❤
She has FIVE kids too! I can’t believe how amazing she looks
She is gorgeous.
She is 44 now, but still looking better that a whole lot of 22 year old women.
Honestly she looks the same as she did in the original video. It’s like she’s a Highlander.
I CRIED I CRIED I CRIED 😭😭😭😭😭 the song and Sophie finally get the spotlight they deserve 😭
She had it 20 years ago too 😂 it was also a big hit then too, it’s just had a renaissance 🕺🏻 💃
She had it when it came out lmao what are you talking about 💀
Tell me you only know her through salt burn without saying it
Bit dramatic love?
@@EmeraldStarryEyezagree!! Some people are so weird
I'm crying now todo 😭🙏🏼
this is so underrated!! her performance was amazing !!
She's not aging, even the voice still the same as 22 years ago ❤
lol she was lip-syncing to the original recording
@@exitscreaming4637no she isn’t go and look at other lives it’s not a lip sync at all
@@jackramsay2267 Ok , you're entitled to your opinion. I think it's lip-synced and sounds like the original song version
I saw Sophie sing this live in Edinburgh. Such a great vibe and I’m glad it appeared in the iconic scene of SALTBURN.
Loved the ICONIC foot stomp at 2:05 👠
It's canon! 😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
I still do it unconsciously when I listen to the album version
@@czfuchs same here! It’s a sound that lives in my mind 😌
I always look for it every time she performs the song and it’s almost always there hahaha. I love that they had everyone do The Altogether at the end as well!
And the one at 3:30
I'm so happy seeing her shining again! Time didn't touch her and she's still wearing that iconic make up! Love from Argentina
Amazing how it sounds just like it did 22 years ago! Tune!
So glad for her renaissance. Her kitchen disco during the pandemic was soooo good. Honestly wish I discovered it at that time as it would have really helped bring me some joy in a very dark time.
I really do love how the dancers subtly recreated the movie dance with their poses, their horns and even the jumps.
Masterpiece!!
Sophie is eternal. Love her
03:35 I love how the dancers recreated a part of the original choreography
Seeing Sophie becoming popular again makes my heart happy
Sophie and her team have played a blinder in this campaign. Rightly deserved too, this is one of my favourite ever songs. ❤
Right! Nobody has talked about that aspect. They've played this perfectly. Future artists this happens to should take note.
SEB has never been anything other than stunning.
How good does Sophie Ellis-Bextor look, 5 children later, and with all that femine power 💃
also shout-out to Sophie & DJ Spiller's "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)
I can’t believe this has become a hit after 22 years. Amazing! 🎉 love it 🥰
Was a fan of the song back then, and still is today.
Congratulations Sophie, well done.
Sophie looks and sounds amazing!
Was just saying she aged really well! You almost can't tell!
She is incredible
I was still a college student when this song was first released, and Sophie hasn't aged a bit!
Crazy to witness Sophie Ellis-Bextor's comeback. I will see her next Wednesday in Cologne, Germany in a very small club where roughly 500 people fit in. She played there last year as well. Maybe she could have moved the show now to a bigger venue. If only she had known ...
I love that this song is enjoying a renaissance... I loved it 20 years ago, and love it as much now
I don't know how I heard this song only 2 days ago but, I am sure glad I did.
She sounds exactly like the record. Amazing performance. I never heard the song before the movie and TikTok so she has a new fan in me. ❤
Lip sync, that's why.
She brought us through the dark times with her kitchen. Putting her back into the limelight, is the least we can do ❤
It's such a great song but Sophie Ellis-Bexter is just a brilliant bloody singer. So underrated.
I hope she gets invited to perform at the Oscars!
Is the film even nominated for an oscar? I dont think it was
@@nopo8011 No. Not the film or anybody or anything in it. Hollywood can't risk backing a movie like this. They are incapable to come with one like it
“I’m just Ken” *has* to be the song at the Oscars.
@@nopo8011it wasn’t😢
Still obsessed with the green eyeshadow 22 years later 😍
The chills of nostalgia with this one I'm feeling right now, can't believe it's already been 20-ish somewhat years
Love David Tennant, needs to host more, got the talent for it
This song brings me back ... I was in college back then, this song used to play everywhere. Good times
Fantastic performance....as always.... from Sophie. How on earth does she look that great after having FIVE children??? Apart from the looks her voice and presentation are as good (if not even better) now as they were when she first performed this classic number. She is the definition of a superstar.
This song never gets old!
And with Sophie looking great and signing live is even better! 🔥💃🏻
I'm old enough to remember Murder on the Dancefloor not being as big of a hit as it should have been stateside back in the early 2000s, so I'm very happy that it's finally getting its moment 20 years later.
A BAFTA performance that doesn't make you cringe like 'did the thing'
She's so angelic
I danced to this at my school disco in 2002. Iconic song.
Wow she didn't age one single day! So gorgeous!
So happy for her and her song. She’s iconic🎉
Never stopped listening to it and squealed when the first notes came on at the end of Saltburn. So happy for her!
Well deserved Sophie! Congratulations!!! I’ve always loved the song ✨
This tune still gives me goosebumps.....
God I love this woman
Here for Sophie EB receiving the recognition and attention she rightfully deserves.
I remember she performed this live during COVID in her living room with her kids.
I met Sophie in a Meribel pub in 2008 and she could not have been sweeter. I am so happy for this resurgence of her success!
Sophie never seems to age. Her voice is still just the same. Wonderful.
I completely missed this song when first released -- thank goodness Saltburn brought it back!
Bet she never thought, all these years later she would be performing this song again. Wonderful 😊 saltburn is my favourite movie too ❤
SHE STILL LOOK SO YOUNG OMG
I love how Sophie gets more and more attention with this hit, i hope people will start listening more songs from here disco… its amazing… Hypnotized is also a banger 🙃
COME THROUGH SOPHIE❤
COME THROUGH❤
Sophie is timelessly flawless
She sounds so CRISP singing this live! ✨
The beautiful talented Sophie Ellis-Bextor....Love this lady!!....Smash it!
Glad the song finally getting the recognition it deserves!
She never ages and this song is classic; let’s get it to number one in the chart where it should always have been!
Every time I listen to this song, I want to watch Saltburn movie all over again! Believe it or not! It's true!
It’s just insane that people just started to know this song. It’s madness. Me at 29 when it came out I danced my butt to it (back in El Salvador), but still it was huge back then, but I’m sooo happy for Sophie to get the recognition she deserves as a great singer + her other music is AWESOME as well. She’s that good. ❤
She is so classy
She never ages
She is so GOOD live, her vocals are so clear and crisp
she's so iconic
Sophie Ellis-Bextor is an icon of pop music from 2000s and she deserves all the recognition she’s getting. ❤
she has a version with her kids during lockdown that was fun
I am loving the resurgence of this song after two decades. It's still a fantastic track that holds up today. Still love the music video for it too.
her voice, her beauty, her music, the groove seems like yesterday..nothing change ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Timeless classic pop song. ❤
This song got played constantly in Australia. Love that it's getting a second go.
No puede ser que hayan pasado tantos años y siga igualita. Que hermosa es esta mujer y su voz increible.
