As a Scotsman, it doesn't register in my head that he's so Scottish haha! But it is nice to see someone with our accent presenting an award ceremony (and I have always loved David Tenant!!)

Gosh, I'm not even a native Englis speaker and I got it, in spite of Tennant's accent. People are so self conscious about their perfect poised image that they can't pay attention
Watching Rosamund Pike light up five seconds after the joke was told was totally worth it

God, that was such a tough crowd to hold but he did so well for keeping up that energy, unwaivering.
I know he's commented in a lengthy interview about performance anxiety but there he is as someone wrote: Tigger on steroids. ALL my admiration.
Best monologue i've ever seen. Maybe too intelligent for a big part of that audience.
David is such a a great host. Not overdoing it, not making a fool of himself, making some good jokes yet not bringing down any actors and instead bringing them up. Perfect choice for a host and just a lovely man overall.

I love David’s humbleness. He told a group of actors who were graduating from a theater school to be kind. If you’re kind, you will be invited back for numerous appearances.

I am the bad fairy at the party. A fan with a web site is obsessed with this hardworking loveable guy and commented in excruciating detail on his clothes during a promo. I was extremely uncomfortable. Thought he did a great job and the entries excellent IMO.

No malice, no cynicism, no humiliation. Raised people up rather than pulled them down. Showed enthusiasm, good humour, mischievous sense of humour. That is David Tennant- one of the kindest guys in show business.

I grew up in a rural area about 30 minutes from a Hershey factory. My school went on a field trip to it every year. There wasn't much there, just a self-guided tour that as might normally take half-an-hour, but as a bunch of kids single digits in age, we blew through in a few minutes. Then we'd descend on the gift shop, get all hopped up on sugar, and run around the grounds like mad things until it was time for the bus ride home. Great memories, but not even for nostalgia's sake will I touch Hershey's chocolate.

I think you might just be used to him deliberately putting on a different accent or a softer version of his accent since he often does both of those. I think here he's just being himself and not putting on any kind of voice.

So glad he's keeping it fun instead of insulting. It's really sad when they make fun of these people whos films we love and ruig their night with insults. I love Ricky Gervais but one time was enough. I think the second time around I couldn't even watch it because it made me so sad .
You are completely right. The Gervais thing was quite mean spirited at times. People get on this high horse because some actors are famous when the reality is that even a lot of famous actors don't actually make all that much money. Now people can disagree on how much money acting deserves but they shouldn't be disingenuous about the actual reality of being an actor.
So happy David hosted the BAFTA this year. What a great year for film and to have David host!
