    I’m a lawyer. This judge covered all his bases. I’ve never heard a judge cite so much law in justifying his rulings. There’s no way she’ll win on appeal. She’s just trying not to be held accountable for her actions

      She is just being a pain in the ass but it’s not going to get her anywhere. Look what the 4 years of being a pain in the ass got her, right where she belongs. The judge was more patient and thorough than I’ve ever seen.

      Yeah he was very well researched in this trial and I think it's because he's thorough but also because she showed her true colors early on and he wanted to make SURE it was on the record that he was making a fair and impartial decision based on case law because, you know, there never in the world was a bigger victim than Sarah Boone. Also, that was the biggest run on sentence in the history of man (possibly)

    It seems like Judge Kraynick was very aware that Sarah Boone would be appealing many of his rulings, and so he was extremely careful to cover all his bases. According to case law, a judge may decide if a defendant has FORFEITED their right to an attorney if there is strong evidence to suggest that the defendant is using the system to delay the trial. In this case, there were numerous delays and eight attorney's with whom Sarah Boone was never satisfied with. I don't believe that the judge was wrong and once the appeals court review the entire case, they will side with the Judge. Also, understanding that Sarah Boone's attorney asked for and was denied a continuance, the court could look at the fact that the case has been held up for almost five years. If every defendant presented themselves in the manner that Sarah Boone did, justice would never be had and the courts will be tied up for years.

If I recall correctly the issue was that her lawyer wasn’t sure he could get together everything necessary to put on battered spouse syndrome as a defense. Turns out he was able to do that without the extra time. This is important because an appeal court is going to look at the totality of the case and ask “How would this defense have been presented differently if the continuance had been granted?” as well as “Would it have been different enough that the jury’s verdict would have been different as well?” I think the answer to the second question is probably no.

No way she can appeal after the nasty letter she wrote to insult him and calling him Mr. Kraynick, the woman is insane and so was her lawyer. How dare she speak of him that way, this needs to end, the woman deserved everything she deserved. Judge Kraynick is a hero and deserves to be respected. When will this end? God please protect Judge Kraynick from the murderer and keep him safe from evil.

    • @HRHMom
      @HRHMom 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You’re right, I believe! This judge was the perfect judge for the case. When judges in the appellate courts review the grounds for appeal and Judge Kraynick’s rulings, they will not be considering whether Sarah was nice or not, whether she was a pain or not, or any of the other things we talk about - they will be looking at the specific objections and rulings as compared to the case law. Judge Kraynick is so strong on case law! Also, something that hasn’t been mentioned is that the State will have an opportunity to respond to the appeal, and Mr. Jay, especially, is also very strong with case law. Owens tends to argue policy and feelings; Mr. Jay and Judge Kraynick argue case law and precedent.

      Right after Sarah was sentenced, James Owens spoke to the press explaining he would support Sarah with her motions for the next 30 days, and that's exactly what he's been doing. After January 2nd, he's done & dusted.

    • @HRHMom
      @HRHMom 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      My question exactly - she has already been appointed an appeals attorney. If the appeals attorney has a different strategy, wouldn’t this “appeal” by Owens, who is no longer the attorney on record, just muddy the waters? Owens said after the verdict that he would not represent her in the appeals but he would be there for the sentencing. The day of sentencing, she was appointed an appeals lawyer. That lawyer withdrew (seriously, not her fault for real), and a second appeals lawyer was named. Tanika’s Two Cents has the documents to review. Even if Owens believed the second appeals lawyer was going to withdraw, it would seem he would have to be made the lawyer on the record. If he’s going to do the appeals, he needs to be prepared to shut down his practice for another few years because Sarah is going to expect 100% of his attention.

      @@HRHMom This isn't an appeal, though, this is a request for transcripts from the trial, which Owens can absolutely share with whoever her proper appellate attorney is. Think of this as Owens doing a little bit of pre-show prep work for him.

    • @HRHMom
      @HRHMom 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Not so sure - but I could be wrong. The document says that the items listed are for review on appeal, and then there is the request for documents. The document also says that the appellant is coming through the undersigned - Owens. Is Owens working for the appellate attorney? If so, he should be listed in the docket just as Henderson’s involvement (and the other attorney, Beck, I think) had to be provided to the court in writing before they became involved. Owens can share whatever he wants, I suppose, but I’m not so sure he has a right to make an appearance (even on paper) if he is not her attorney on record. I’ll admit it’s a mystery to me - you may be absolutely right, but it seems Owens would have to be listed as her attorney before filing on her behalf. There are days I wish I’d gone to law school.

I re-watched the hearing where Bankowitz withdrew, and the judge asked her if it was her position that she wanted him to withdraw, and she said yes. She didn’t say “fire him,” but she did say yes, she wanted him gone. She may not have said the words, “You’re fired” to each of the four who represented and withdrew, but she fired them through her actions, just as she waived her right to counsel through her conduct.

      @@HRHMom the court documents are what matters. The sources you refer to are not on the record. If you read the records you will find 8 recusals. Interestingly, 3 of those recusals were before the court appointed lawyers even stood next to Sarah to represent her. They recused due to conflict of interest. This is a common reason to bow out of a case as it is unethical to continue if you have represented someone involved or know someone personally, for example. That’s just a side note. Facts matter. Then she'll start suing the state over denial of her rights as a prisoner. "They're all being so mean to me. They make jokes about suitcases and ask me if I need a makeup artist."

    Boone is guilty! All the evidence was in her very own videos. Not just Jorge in the suitcase, but calling the cops on him to kick him out, then harassing him to come back just to get him arrested again while he was sleeping. Waking him up to start arguments... I guess you can't blame her for trying though..

    As far as the counterbalance, the Sixth Amendment works both ways in terms of the right to a speedy trial. The defendant has a right to a speedy trial, but to counterbalance the scales of justice the people have the same right. According the US Supreme Court in Vega v. Tekoh Miranda rights "are not themself rights protected by the Constitution."

      @@MrMancreatedgod what part? She is claiming that the denial of her getting another delay after 4 years of delay is a reversible error! The state has the same 6th Amendment right to a speedy trial as the defendant! She is the one who caused her qualified counsel to withdraw from the case. Also as far as Miranda warnings, the Supreme Court ruled on this in the case I noted in 2022!

    I came in late to this case but the judge seems pretty chill and put up with a lot from her, a lot more than other judges I have seen. I hope she loses, and loses bad, she should have taken the deal, she would have been home by now, not that she deserves anything but life with no parole, EVER.
    She abused Jorge, I was with a very abusive ex, just like Sarah, but he didn't hit me, just words. Boy that video of her yelling at Jorge in the hallway brought back some bad memories.
