The comments Karen made in court were fair and justified. I do not see her comments as "nasty" at all. I think the State and the Feds are making this case into a total circus.
I'm sure Luigi's defense is going into this knowing the facts are pretty much all against them. And despite that it's still the prosecution here that is at risk of snatching defeat from the hands of victory.
She may not have been 'nasty', but she definitely was being over dramatic because she knew the public was watching. And with all the evidence against her client, she's going to pull out every trick in the book to try to influence prospective jurors.
You lost me at "nasty". If a woman says something uncomfortable, it's nasty. Your subtext is she's unprofessional, unhinged. This isn't 1952 anymore, gentlemen. The substance of what she said was true. They are parading around this guy and making a public spectacle like he's been found guilty already and the mayor is making public statements as if he has already been found guilty. How is this just? How can that lead to a fair trial?
His lawyer is not wrong. The perp walk with the stone-faced mayor standing just a few feet behind him, the ridiculously large escort into the courtroom, and the terrorism charges all seem like overkill meant to send a message to the public. Unfortunately for them, their attempts to sway public opinion don't seem to be working. I've seen more posts today calling out the people in charge than the man actually charged. When his name was mentioned on SNL last night, people cheered. Of course, he shouldn't get away with murder but overcharging him and treating him worse than other murderers is only helping his folkhero status.
Mayor Adams is in big political trouble. He's going to be challenged next year. He needs all the PR he can get. I fine is interesting that his NYPD didn't find this guy but rather a small PA town McD's customer did.
Mayor Adam’s is gross. But people who consider Luigi a hero are far beyond disgusting. 2 little boys are dealing with a country who thinks it’s funny that their Daddy was shot
I agree with you 100%!! I also think it’s ridiculous to have four guards behind/glued to him in court. He’s shackled and with his attorneys. He’s not going anywhere. Seems like such a power play. Edit:what Peter and his dad makes sense for all the police. 👮🏻♂️
One thing I did not have on my bingo card is this channel calling a confident, knowledgeable and powerful woman doing her job ‘nasty’ . There was nothing nasty about these comments, she was making a record and ensured her voice was being heard. Same with the comment about her having a speech prepared - again, she is coming prepared and doing her job the way it should be done. I am very surprised to hear some of these comments by both Peter and Dad today. These comments are the typical male comments us women hear when we are doing well in our corporate careers and feathers are being ruffled. Please don’t do this. Stay unbiased and neutral, as I thought you were.
I started the video hoping they’d speak less biased like they usually do but today was the exception. Saying nobody believes he’s didn’t do it but believe innocent until proven guilty? Super disappointed and absolutely disgusted by this video.
@@beccab4517 It's because they are part of the group that earns more than the UHC CEO.... Putting KFA down as a "nasty woman" (amongst other things) makes these two feel better about themselves because they can relate to the victim not the masses, including Luigi
Luigi is constantly surrounded by cops and feds in matching uniforms, and I feel like him and his lawyer being similarly uniform is a very powerful visual contrast and makes them seem like a confident united front. I don't think it was a weird choice.
@kea6067 I agree. When I pointed it out, just now, in comments - the matching outfits - got a reply comment that it was 'stupid'. Oh, well..takes all kinds, I guess.😅 Also, I do think it was coordinated and NOT some kind of weird 'coincidence.' If it were truly a 'coincidence'...we wouldn't be seeing it (imo) - 'someone' would've done a quick-change in clothing - once the 'coincidence' was noticed.

Lol notes for a "Speech?" (So odd to me a lawyer said that.) The courtroom is no place to present 'off the cuff' or by memory, which eVeryone knows, even people who don't work in criminal law. She not making a 'poor boy' speech/case either ... it's about the _overzealous_ treatment /playing it up to the public such as the perp walk right out of a movie. We all know it was riDiculous. He should simply have come from the back of the court like any other defendant, not after being filmed walking down a long hallway w/3 different types of cops/deputies & freaking swat in full gear. Lol he's handcuffed. Ridic. With decades in the business of criminal trials I too, have _NEVER_ seen that spectacle procured in a murder case. Is the major held to a higher speech standard than the average citizen, i.e., is it acceptable for a public official to call a dependent a murderer before the trial?
@@maryjaneshoe-fm4yr Yes, he is held to a higher standard. He is an elected official. Not to mention, he is staring down his own federal charges so it was quite ironic that he joined the perp walk and ran his mouth to the media when he's probably going to the federal pokey himself.
@@lsto6983it kinda was- didn’t you see it? I personally have mixed feelings, don’t think it was necessary considering some public are “idolizing” him. I don’t know much about this - but from an outsiders perspective of what I have caught through the media, is that he is being made an example of. I think the feds/prosecution is seeing how the public are reacting to Luigi’s actions and trying desperately in every way to plant some fear in the public. I have never seen anything like it honestly.
I agree, but I think they’re making a big mistake. Luigi wanted to be special and get this attention. Any copycats would likely be the same way. Giving Luigi this star treatment is giving them ideas. It’s why we aren’t supposed to talk about school shooters in the media.

There's gonna be a lot of egg on certain people's faces if this goes in the direction of the Gov Whitmer Kidnapping trial.
Can you please explain why health insurance companies are not charged with RICO crimes for denying valid claims when customers pay premiums for health care?
…it’s not a crime for insurance companies to deny claims. You don’t decide what a “valid” claim is, if their practices weren’t in line with the agreements made when buying a policy then those companies would be suffering that in court. And don’t use that “they just wait for the person to die so they can’t get justice”, people’s estates can and do sue in their place
@Bhubnipz do you know how many people file internal appeals after a denied claim? External appeals? Then sue? Then die and those families left with all that it entails and they sue? Well the insurance companies 100% know and track that info. So yeah, LM did NOT make up the phrase "deny defend depose", comments sight it regularly about UHC practices even before this incident.

Calling Karen Friedman Agnifilo's comments in court "nasty" as she advocates for and defends her client is just wrong. And shocking. Would you say that if a male attorney had said the same thing? I doubt it very much.
“Let’s face it, everybody probably thinks her client is guilty.” - ABSOLUTELY NOT!! What an ABSOLUTE DUNCE of a lawyer and statement. All I’m going to say is that I’m glad K.F.A. is representing him and not you!! 33:26
seriously very disappointing and out of touch. Just saw his response and "shock" to 41% of the public calling the shooting justified. He's extremely critical of the defense and for what? its coming across as very boomer and sexist.
"“Let’s face it, everybody probably thinks her client is guilty.” - But guilty of what? First degree vs second degree depends on what he was thinking. If everyone agrees he pulled the trigger does not mean everyone agrees on his state of mind. That makes a big difference.
I’m a pretty centered and open minded person, I do not feel like his lawyer was being ”nasty or going off” on anyone. She makes a very valid point. Law enforcement, judicial, and the mainstream media outlets are tainting this case. Biased by their political backings, corporate funding and investments. They strategically set the stage for him to already appear guilty, and they’ve done this since the beginning of time. Because of money and power, our systems and infrastructure do not benefit to common citizens. Not guilty or Guilty, they’ve already influenced this channel and the masses to believe the latter. This is where things end up without unbiased, unemotional critical thoughts. Everything she said was valid, everyone deserves a fair chance to prove themselves.
I don’t like how their weaponising words like “nasty”. I think they wouldn’t have used that if it was a male lawyer supporting Luigi I just think it’s all a bit petty. She is being strong because the charges are strong and she’s standing up for her client, which she should.
I agree. She deserves respect as a person doing her job well, calling her “nasty” is a statement used as disgust toward a woman. No one would say a male attorney is “nasty”.
Karen is a great attorney and I didn't see anything nasty at all with her comments. She's representing Luigi and she will do her best for him. This case has been way over charged and the State and politicians don't say alleged or innocent till proven guilty. I do not think they have treated this young man fairly at all. The NYC mayor is disgusting and I hope he goes to jail. As for Luigi they not have proven to me he's guilty but I do know the insurance companies are guilty of murder of all the people who died because their claim was denied. Why aren't insurance companies charged. Profit over life. Merry Christmas
finally, someone here remembers that people are innocent until proven guilty. I think that maybe Mayor Adams wanted a story about someone other than himself and sent his goons to find a look-a-like suspect and plant evidence on him. Adams got a call about someone seeing a kid eating breakfast and wow; just because he kind of looks like a photo does not mean that it's him.
Her statements were absolutely on point, not nasty. Silly thing to say, they’re just trying to make an example of him… but as usual bring the muppets that they are they’re doing the complete opposite. While I appreciate this man is accused of a very controversial act of murder and that’s never to be supported to suggest his lawyer was ‘nasty’ for (correctly) pointing out that the NYC media, politicians and LE are making such a spectacle of him is plain wrong imo. Not only that but to charge him with terrorism in a state which did experience a horrific act of terrorism is almost insulting to the general public. Personal opinion of course but it feels like overcharging and they’re making a martyr of him by parading him around in the manner they have. A woman was set alight in NY just this week; where is his perp walk? Is that not yet another example of the increasing violence against women? The terror we have to endure? You cannot look at these cases and not clearly see the overzealous way Luigi is being treated.

Out of all other analysis from other lawyers I've watched on this subject this seemed to be the most clueless take. KFA knows exactly what she's doing.
I think whats more infuriating is that it seems to be on purpose. I'm not sure why their evading certain aspects of her defense and feigning dumb (criticizing her notes as a lawyer a "speech"); all it gives is misogyny. I'm all over the comment section bc I enjoyed following the trial with them up until now. Will be seeking out other channels if anyone has recommendations!
I disagree on Papa T's explanation of the 4 officers. LEOs don't turn their backs to a threat. If they were concerned for Luigi's safety they would not be focused only on him and have their backs to the gallery. IMO this is the same kind of posturing as the peep walk.
Attorney Melanie Little who is a barred attorney in NY said cameras are never allowed in the courtrooms. Period. She’s never seen it until now. Even for a hearing.
Karen Agnifilo has had her career in the Manhattan district. She knows how to handle this case. Her array of experience is impecable. Luigi is very fortunate to have her for his attorney. 😊😊😊😊😊
I've been watching you and your father for years. This is the first video I stopped watching. The critique of Karen felt less like expert insight and more like catty commentary. Calling her interactions with her client awkward, her remarks "prepared" (I certainly hope my attorney would prepare for our court date.) and even beginning this video by saying she had "some pretty nasty comments to make" (0:31 of this video for those inclined to review). I was disheartened. Not many lawyers beyond the major networks are following this case so I was excited that you were. But this left me astounded. I respect your expertise. I respect your perspective. I respect that we may see this defendant differently. But the way that you shared your perspective in this video felt very off. I felt you were making fun of Karen Agnifilo, condescending to her even though she's obviously quite capable and experienced from what I saw that day. I felt your critiques were of minor things that didn't impact her efficacy in the court room. I felt her advocacy is similar to what I've seen her male colleagues provide in other cases I've watched you cover and offer praise to such actions (Ex: Preparing notes, showing warmth, being "human", being an advocate, pushing for things even if they're not needed just to make a record.) I wish I could explain it better than that . And if anyone else felt it, perhaps they can do that feeling justice. I may return. I may not. I know it may make little difference. But this was just an experience worth sharing as a multi-year subscriber who values your community.
You explained your view perfectly. And you are right..How can they degrade an exceptional lawyer like her,and her opening remarks were so spot on and she seems to be well prepared.
Clothing match is on purpose. She is detail oriented and extremely sharp about public perception, as you have said. Why would she do it? Think about the visual of the perpwalk, with Mangione's contrasting orange jumper in the sea of blue. Now look at all the attorneys and officers dark suits. She did not want him to look like the perp again. She shows on a subliminal level he is not distinct, he is one of us.
Luigi started a conversation about healthcare, insurance and their greedy actions for profit operations. The government and Congress should start investigations to reform the insurance industry. IF Luigi was involved, use his educated intellect to write a compendium with a solution for reform.
I know you thought the dressing similar was an accident but i view it as an act of solidarity. Anyone else? It feels very intentional. Maybe its just the way we all feel abused by the insurance industry and want to be unified on this. Definitely feels intentional though.
Had to agree with the attorney....this guy is being targeted and condemned as guilty by media and FBI, NYPD etc. Bizarre treatment with 'innocent until proven guilty' violation! So many contradictory reports and rush to judgement ...why? 🤔
Karen Agnifilo is a legal analyst for CNN and a key person on Meidas Touch Network and Legal AF. She has her own podcast a da brilliant mind - she will protect Luigi and represent him well🙏💪♥️
Q. If the police are surrounding him to protect him from any interference from the folks in the court room, wouldn't it make more sense for them to stand facing the audience rather than the judge? I wonder how speedily these officers could respond and how efficient that would look? Anyone? And, yes I know there are other officers in the room.
Oh, come on, Peter & Papa. Of course they dressed matchy matchy on purpose!! If they both wore something super common, I'd buy it...but red sweaters over white-collared shirts? Too coincidental. She's tapping into the solidarity of the country in response to this crime. She's signaling that she's not just an attorney retained by a defendant. She is behind her client 100% in an above-and-beyond sort of way, and she wants everyone (including potential jurors) to know it. Red/scarlet symbolizes passion! Everything about this case has been visual & symbolic: monopoly money, engraved shell casings, 6-pack abs and fade haircut, eyebrows, and a perp walk involving a mayor and a small army. She's answering symbolism with symbolism. She knows the country is, literally, watching every move.
So you are saying the media putting picks of him shirtless was his his and Karen planning? You are reaching. Those cops have jobs and other people to detain instead of walking a perp walk. So have you seen x-rays of his spine the doctors his insurance made him use. You make no sense like all those cops for a skinny guy no weapon but cuffs on ankles and wrists. But we are protecting him. Then why was he front and center and not in that crowd of law enforcement. It made them look like cowards. Stupidest thing I have ever seen. Never had perp walk for mass shooters or presidential candidate shootings they had to chase in a vehicle. It was all mayor taking credit for a person in Pennsylvania who was alert. The cops were not alert in that state evidently. No law enforcement caught him a civilian did remember that. Oh but they standing front and center now
I’ve unsubscribed. Often times when women speak up, they are labeled “nasty”. Guys, remember this lawyer and his dad are financially closer with that CEO than with us. I’m not surprised at his take
12:00 I’ve also been hearing people say that the judge is married to an insurance executive. Could you please look into this and give your opinion? If true, that’s a GIANT conflict of interest, and imho, that merits a change of judge!
Literally no one is coming for the defendant. He needs no protection from the public. He’s also no danger to the public. If he is the shooter, he had his target and that’s over. It’s classic gaslighting, call it what you will, but the attempt at mass manipulation is obvious if you haven’t drank the koolaid.
Watching the 'walk' in NYC it reminded of a ceremonial; it was totally ridiculous. Before I read any comments, I thought, What they Hey! What were they thinking.
Eric Adams is going to be challenged next year for his job. He's going to use every single thing he can to try to raise his approval rating and his profile. He's been a resounding failure as mayor of NYC. The guy managed to get out of NYC in less than 1 hour - something most commuters cannot do every single day! His PD didn't find the suspect.
When the entire purpose of the perp walk is _for_ the public, it definitely violates the spirit of the right to a fair trial and for prosecutors not to speak on your guilt, etc.
I have been watching KFA for years on LegalAF. She is fantastic. Thoughtful, precise, careful. She was second only to Cy Vance at Manhattan DA for many years. She is truly the best. A firecracker. As far as protecting him, the huge perp walk with Luigi in an orange jumpsuit looked like they were trying to make him a target for a shooter. Hahaha! The bigger channels? MeidasTouchNetwork is THE biggest. They beat CNN every day. MTN has millions of subscribers and millions of views every day. And that’s her team.
Those officers hovering over Luigi is intentional to taint a potential jury anyone that doesn't watch alot of news sees all those guards will automatically assume he's a very dangerous person and unless your a healthcare CEO he would be more likely to help you and not hurt you .
Peter, I genuinely respect you to the highest degree as a law student & am inspired by all your takes on cases. But I’d love to give some constructive criticism. I think sometimes it’d be better to not interrupt because the mics cut out one or both parties (like how with older phones you could both talk no issue but now one mic takes over the other). & the prosecutor did say primary when you said he may not have 😅 (which doesn’t matter, but interrupting would limit that). But it’s been a little hard for me to watch the podcast episodes for this very reason. The YSL lawyer Doug Weinstein podcast was amazing but there were many interruptions so you had to repeat a lot. The mic doesn’t add both voices, it cuts one out. I understand time may be constrained but eventually it adds time to do so anyways. I hope you take this into consideration bc you have an amazing channel but I think it diminishes the professionalism & flow of it. Much more understandable with your dad bc it’s probably more natural, but would love to see a little shift at least. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, Peter!!
The solution is simple. Anytime you pause, you rewind like 10 to 15 seconds. You can't just pause and then talk for a minute and then unpause. You're obviously going to miss something. You're going to miss the context of what was being said before in the context of what comes after.. FINALLY SOMEBODY ELSE POINTS THIS OUT!!!!
Yea for short clips I prefer they play the entire video and then go back & discuss. Its smoother editing IMO Satisfies the folks who want to hear the entire statement with context & then people can stay for the breakdown. Its hard to remember your talking points on such a short video -- esp when its repetitive like the prosector says "primary prosecution" twice but Peter probably had it noted on the latter mention so thought Papa T had skipped ahead lol
The way they’re handling this is insane. He’s not the first person to be accused of murder, but I’m seeing things unlike I’ve ever seen before. There are people who torture and heinously murder others and they don’t get the ridiculous law enforcement/government presence and the {already indicted} mayor walking with them. It’s ridiculous. KFA was 100% justified in speaking against the way they’ve handled it. It’s absolutely what many many of us are thinking. I was thankful she stood up for him when she spoke against the ridiculous power trip these people seem to be on.
@@Jenni-y9u in the context which it was said was right after Counsel Karen made her remarks about her concerns that Luigi is not getting a fair trial due to the government officials publicly deeming Luigi as guilty, for example the corrupt mayor’s perp walk fiasco which was also disguised as a desperate and much failed attempt to make hisself look like a competent and innocent politician. After explaining her reasoning and worry, that’s when the judge said, he has no control over what happens outside his courtroom but he will make sure Luigi gets a fair trial in his court room and one of those ways is by making sure the right jurors are chosen.
She knows New York law,she knows what they are entitled to/evidence against her client. Why does this guy in glasses sound like he is biased with her in general?
I bet they won’t read comments but I echo what other people are saying. I’ve loved this channel for being able to take in view points I may not agree with but this video was not it. From the first few minutes it was very clear where Peter and his dad stood and were overly critical of a woman attorney, using words that are very misogynistic. We’ve seen many trials where male defense attorneys say way more outlandish things and they’ve been able to stay more neutral. His dad saying “nobody” thinks he didn’t do it but the trial is about morals.. ok sir. Way to represent yourself and prove you’re totally out of touch with reality of the world the rest of us live in.

I’m a pretty centered and open minded person, I do not feel like his lawyer was being ”nasty or going off” on anyone. She makes a very valid point. Law enforcement, judicial, and the mainstream media outlets are tainting this case. Biased by their political backings, corporate funding and investments.
Oh but they standing front and center now
It also raises the awareness that he is a smart dressed well educated man.Fallen astray perhaps but of good upbringing.
I’ve unsubscribed. Often times when women speak up, they are labeled “nasty”. Guys, remember this lawyer and his dad are financially closer with that CEO than with us. I’m not surprised at his take
I promise that the Mangiones are wealthier than these two.
No need to announce your departure. He mildly criticized your crush, and upset you. Very sensitive.
12:00 I’ve also been hearing people say that the judge is married to an insurance executive. Could you please look into this and give your opinion? If true, that’s a GIANT conflict of interest, and imho, that merits a change of judge!
I didn't find her comments, "nasty."
The best said about the corrupted nyc mayor
they need four officers ??
I know right ? Ridiculous
And the explanation about the possible motive in the video was not at all convincing.
If cop protection is two-fold why aren't the cops facing the other way to make sure nobody jumps from behind them? smh
Exactly what I thought. Doesn't make sense if they're protect Luigi. It's all bs.
Because the explanation they gave in the video made absolutely no sense.
Exactly, and if some Luigi fan goes crazy and acts up, the cops won't even know until it is going on. Half of them should be watching the gallery.
Watching the 'walk' in NYC it reminded of a ceremonial; it was totally ridiculous. Before I read any comments, I thought, What they Hey! What were they thinking.
It's extremely immature to say her comments were "nasty". They weren't. She was blunt, and doing her job of defending her client.
KFA is very organized!
Gotta chime in to protest the use of the word "nasty."
I think the defence is going to kick ass.
Sounds like an AMAZING ATTORNEY. Everything she says is RIGHT ✅️
I thought that the defense attorney made compelling statements in regards to the mayor of NYC.
When the entire purpose of the perp walk is _for_ the public, it definitely violates the spirit of the right to a fair trial and for prosecutors not to speak on your guilt, etc.
They weren’t nasty comments, they were correct comments.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!
THE OVER PAUSING IS RIDICULOUS !!!!
You guys missed the most important thing. The judge said we will make sure we get the “right jurors.”
Yes, wealthy people with personal connections to health insurance CEOs.
Both sides have to approve the jurors
His lawyer is the best in New York
Needed to come to the comment section to see how others reacted to this weirdly, suddenly biased video. Respectfully, your fathers showing his age regarding a "nasty woman" and criticizing a lawyer whose familiar with media tactics and using similar tactics to fight back is just a good fucking lawyer.
I love that you honour your father and have him joining you on some of the episodes!
Merry Christmas ❤from 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Compare this perp walk to the escort that the accused man who torched the women on a NYC subway . This was a brutal act; One women and a man walked him into a car, no assault rifles, no 20 man army walking behind him along with the mayor (who is facing criminal charges of own).
