News sometimes don’t want to “buck the big wigs behind this. The big lick group are powerful and they don’t want any bad press from all the used and abused big lick horses found at auction “
Guys, you don’t understand how much power these organizations hold. Any meat slaughtering places. They all spend billions on lobbying the politicians in their favor. It’s all the same. This is why people aren’t allowed to go protest in most meat packing places. Europeans are much more better at it. All the protest are there and consumer protections and animal welfare is night and day to what happens here. This is why legally Americans can’t sell meat or dairy products to Europe. Nobody wants the garbage Americans consumers are force fed with. We talk about other countries, but we’re literally worse than any democracy. I’m so glad for this channel. Only education and exposure will change things.
I’m So glad I ran across this episode again! It’s one of my very favorites when Keith adopts a horse for Angela to ride! Keith seems like such a sweet husband and Angela was so gracious. Love them and hope Major is still with them and happy!
The auction not letting you in was a blessing in disguise, if you look at how successful your buy out program has been in such a short time! This is a miracle that is long overdue to help these poor underappreciated equines
@@cynthiacarter514 Because it means they get the horses before they have to suffer at the auction. The horses they get don't get exposed to that stress. Usually you rescue around 20, but it actually seems that your getting more horses even though it's more work. More lives being saved is the goal as long as the atrocity of horse slaughter exists.
Financially though it's not good for them as it's leading to less fundraising so long term it may be a big issue... (and probably causing them to pay more too).

Re the mare with the maggoty poll, Dr Lydia finds the little critters fascinating! I think they are both cringe making and also very useful. I have picked and washed them out of 'people' wounds, you can't gag or shrink away as you don't want the patient to realise what they have in their wounds. They only eat dead matter so it doesn't hurt so much. The mare was incredibly calm as if she knew she was being helped, I hope she heals well and goes on to having a lovely life with someone who will treat her properly. You did so well rescuing so many.
Great episode. Emotional. It would be nice if Copper could stay at the rescue, or go Home with one of you. That picture of Keith, Angela and Major was the best adoption photo........sheer joy. Those officers and auction people turn my stomach. Thanks for everything you do. Ontario Canada
Ponytail got a horse that was a carriage horse from the Amish that got hit by a car that had a through and through wound on the head they worked for weeks to get that cleaned up. It had maggots it had everything it was so infected but she’s doing really good now, so there is hope for this mayor.
I think it’s so funny how excited/fascinated Dr. Lydia is about the maggots on that poor mare’s poll wounds. Edit: I’m glad that they were able to treat her. I hope she has a long life ahead of her. Pain and maggot free of course.

So many beautifull horses needing put to sleep 😢xx xx
Thank all you vets for coming together and helping horse +. The horses that have been coming in from the buy out look a lot better than some purchased at the barn. You are making a difference in the sale community. Tawny you all are doing good work. Don't lose hope. God put you here for a mission and this is yours. God bless each and every one of you that work there.
Wow!! What a busy week for you all!! Thank you Jenifer for your amazing donation to this amazing team! Angela, I was right there with you, crying tears of joy!! Congratulations on your adoption! You look amazing on Major!!
ANGELA , CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW HORSE 🐴 MAJOR!! That was so sweet of your wonderful husband Keith ❤. I could see how happy and surprised you were 😊 You so deserve it!! Major couldn't have gone to a better more loving home than yours. So happy for you and Keith. Love and Blessings to you always ❤ 🙌 Jennifer
THREE agricultural officers watching protesters at auction, not inside fining people for bringing sick animals to auction. Our tax dollars at work.
Oh my goodness, that little kitten is so precious. Looks like my sweet Thea when she was a kitten. ❤
Love dr Lydia so much! Amazing to see so many vets helping❤️
So glad for all the positive intakes and to give the young 3 year old (looked like a Belgian) and the one mare the final act of kindness. Good lunch you guys and nice surprise with the horse for Angela.
My first comment is, "Keith, you're such a sweetheart to adopt lovely Major for your most deserving ❤ wife! Angela congratulations on becoming a proud horse Mom. 🐎 I hope he brings you as much joy as my first horse brought me. Tawnee, Jason and all your team of heroes-thank you and may God bless you with continued success with your selfless mission to end horse suffering.
Dr. Lydia is a hoot! nothing grosses her out.
Thank you to Jennifer who bought their lunch from a Texan. You are amazing!
So pleased for Angela and Keith ❤❤
I liked seeing the lady in the truck have a positive interaction with them while protesting. Big possibility she will tell others about Horse Plus being kicked out. Very cool!!
Thank you, Jennifer! Also, ads don’t bother me, anything to help horses!
Sounds like some officers need to have complaints filed on them, for not being lawful... It all comes to the light eventually.
I love dr. Lydia! She explains what she is doing and why, she is constantly teaching and you can tell she cares deeply about what she does.
All I can say is God Bless every one of you.
All of you are really amazing on helping all of these horses and Hopefully soon the police and action people will let you all back in to continue rescuing horses that need help either its the last act of kindness or a better second chance of a new better life! We all love you Horse Plus Humane Society and Keep on fighting to save horses of any kind 🥰🤠❤❤❤❤🐎🐎🐎
Thank you❤
Great episode. Emotional. It would be nice if Copper could stay at the rescue, or go Home with one of you. That picture of Keith, Angela and Major was the best adoption photo........sheer joy. Those officers and auction people turn my stomach. Thanks for everything you do. Ontario Canada
Making plans on the fly for any extended period of time can be so exhausting. Keep hanging in there!!!
Those kittens are absolutely adorable and thank you for taking kitties in❤
Angela and Keith adopting was so heartwarming. Made my day. And the picture of the three of them was just so sweet. :)
What a sweet old man Copper is! I'm glad he's in a safe place ❤
Hey Dr. Lydia so nice to see you here. Thanks
Ponytail got a horse that was a carriage horse from the Amish that got hit by a car that had a through and through wound on the head they worked for weeks to get that cleaned up. It had maggots it had everything it was so infected but she’s doing really good now, so there is hope for this mayor.
I feel a little frustrated that the only thing I can do is monthly donations-wish it was more! You guys are so amazing❤
Major could not have gotten a better home! Congrats!
I think it’s so funny how excited/fascinated Dr. Lydia is about the maggots on that poor mare’s poll wounds.
Edit: I’m glad that they were able to treat her. I hope she has a long life ahead of her. Pain and maggot free of course.
