When people complain that you guys put down some rescue they need to think. "Do you want to die in jail or at home?" Home and with love is always better.
Agreed! Same for small animals ... dogs, cats, bunnies, etc.
True. Also we as humans we can lay down, use wheelchair, crutches, etc. A horse has no option but to stand on four legs without the help of an apparatus. What a painful life to stand and walk on painful injuries.
Euthanasia is the equivalent of drowning only you're paralyzed and can't scream or move to do anything about it. Not peaceful, pure torture. Should investigate things instead of just thinking its peaceful for your own peace of mind. Find out the facts first.
Former Lipizzaner breeder here... I can definitely see Hungarian Lipizzaner in Black Beauty. They're shaped somewhat differently than the Austrian Lipizzaners, and there is a much higher percentage of true blacks in the Hungarian population. What a classy horse. He'll look amazing once he's gained some weight and some muscle. Whoever adopts him will really end up with something special!

Yep. Just had put my 13 year old love (dog) down. I rescued her 11 years ago. Now all I have is my 26 year old Arabian - have had him for 20 years. Not a rescue. He's living his best retirement life now. ❤
So sorry about Sir Galahad. But he passed the way he naturally should have. In a green pasture, under blue sky, with horse friends and knowing what true love and care was at an older age at a place he could call his final home. RIP Sir Galahad.

It doesn't matter what they died from when they are old and not in good shape. You don't adopt out the thin needy horses until you get them to the shape you want. What IS important is that he wasn't butchered and he died in a safe place with food.
I'm so sorry for the loss of Sir Galahad. You did everything you could, now he's galloping free across the Rainbow Bridge young wild & free once again.💕🐎🌈

The Lady who adopted the brown puppy…I know exactly what you are talking about! I retired, took off in a camper and was so lonesome! Got a puppy on the road. Often bought “why why did I do this? In the middle of the night , when it had to potty, or wanted to play. But he is the BEST DOG!!! He’s 8 years old now and such a great companion.
Yay for Suzanna, who adopts and cheers for blind horses. I'm really curious about her organization. Could the media team visit her there sometime and tell us a little more how she and the HP adoptees are doing?

I was focused on his ears and how he holds himself. I believe there is a strong Akhal-Teke line there. He is stunning. 🙏❤️🥰

It's so sad that the family waited so long to call for help and let those puppies get so skinny. But good for them and thank you owners for swallowing your pride and calling for help We all need help sometimes. And our fur babies should never suffer because of it.
It must've been so hard hitting rock bottom. I hope they got help for themselves
This may not come out right. I love what you all do. My prayer is that someday we get laws passed so there is no need for you or anyone to have to rescue from the slaughter pipe line. Until then keep up the fight.
I can see Akhal Teke in his ears and the way his neck goes into his withers. It's a slender breed of horse, too. Not saying he isn't underweight. But he won't fill out like a QH or typical horses we usually see in the US. He's going to be even more STUNNING when he is up to proper weight. 😍
That's what I was thinking. Akhal Teke are a very slight bodied breed. IIRC they need more protein in their diet as well. But he may never really ' fatten up'

The clever cowgirl just had one with Caspian DNA. He originally came from TX. So wild .
Fun fact about Caspian horses, their genetics are so old they are considered as one of the ancestral breeds for all oriental breeds we know now (akhal-theke, barb, Arabian and Turkoman are the most known) the barb is on its turn the foundation breed for alot of European breeds such as the lippizaner, Andalusian,...
So flows nicely in together with black beauty.

Yes very sad to see and the little pony being crushed under another. Heartbreaking
A part of me was very angry with the Amish guy who packed them into the trailer that way. But... he also went to the auction and got more horses out of there to bring to Horse Plus. He likely paid less for them at auction than he got back from Horse Plus through the buy out program, so he probably made a little profit. However, they still ended up with Horse Plus instead of shipping to slaughter. The ones who can be saved now have a chance at a new life. And those who couldn't, went out peacefully and painlessly, surrounded with love.
That's a LOT of horses saved this month!! HPHS's perseverance wins and it's a huge loss for the auction house that intended to hurt YOU. Awesome! You rock!
I LOVE that Horse Plus is eating away at Triple W's commission profits. Serves them right. Banning Horse Plus from the auction was pretty short sighted on their part.
Thankfully the owners of the three dogs ensured their horses wouldn’t suffer unduly that they donated them to Horse Plus. Their dogs are obviously happy souls, so it must have been a terrible experience for them to be unable to feed them, let alone themselves.I cannot understand how a family can lose their food stamps if they cannot afford to feed themselves. Obviously not all owners are bad people, but sometimes their circumstances are beyond their control. So let’s hope this family can enjoy a Merry Christmas like their dogs, thanks to the generosity of others.

That white dog (Nova) is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! If it weren't for the fact that I already have 4 rescue dogs, 3 dogs, and 3 cats, I would come over there and pick her up.
My little Gram used to say don't be selfish when, it's time to let some one go, let them go. Our physical bodies are on loan to us. Riley has been full of life and has a wonderful temperament (like Sjors). When, it's time to let him go he'll be whole again. ❤❤❤✌️

I think when horses are brought to auctions in such poor shape owners should do jail time.

No matter what breed or breeds, Black Beauty is beautiful. He definitely needs some more weight on him, as his ribs are too visible. His mane will need washed and combed out as well as his tail. Gorgeous

The blind horses are amazing to ride and if they are broken in properly before they go blind they gain their trust they are the best to ride

Some of the horses from the buyout program have been is such a rough shape. I am just glad you were able to step up and help them. The rescue mission with the dogs had me in tears. „They lost their food stamps“. I fell an pretty bad hardships after an emergency back surgery four years ago and have been unable to work since then. I am well aware if I wouldn’t have been living in Germany I could have easily ended up on the streets myself. So glad the dogs have been rescued! And my favorite adopter, Susan, has been back, I have been waiting for her!
She is just so kind and nice. I love how she advocates for blind horses. Oh my gosh, Black Beauty has Akal Thekene in him! I was thinking about that breed when I saw him but completely regarded it as it seemed very unlikely. So glad he was saved! It’s again proof that horses from all walks of life could end up in a tough spot.

I know this hasn't got anything to do with mistreated animals, but I think it's a really good thing: In Canada they're passing a law againt declawing cats because no longer scratching, they get arthritis in their paws. Whoever will be caught doing so will have to pay a heavy fine. They'll teach poeple what kind of scratching post to purchase to train their cats not scratch on their furniture.

It is wild to me how many people try to stop rescues. I honestly do not get it. If you're selling, why do you care who buys the horse as long as you get a fair deal? And clearly there's no shortage of horses being sold for slaughter, so why do the slaughterhouses care? And why would the state make you buy a license you don't even need just because they want to get in your way? Just bizarre. I had no idea how much absurd resistance there is to rescuing horses before I started watching these videos. Glad you have a lot of passionate people who aren't afraid to keep fighting.

I hate that people neglect their animals so they NEED that last act of kindness, I am so grateful that they can receive it with food and water in their bellies and kind hands stroking them, to have pain eased and a feeling of kindness at the end ... so much better than the fate that awaited them had they not been rescued. 🎉🎉❤❤

I love to ride, but I never realized there were so many horses in trouble. You do great work. I don't think I could deal with as many euthanasias as you do. Thank goodness some can be rehomed.
Black Beauty really is a beauty, just as special as his namesake. His head is very Lipizzaner, but he also has this showy attitude, and the gate, coat, and slender build, it's so Achal Teke. I can totally see it. Absolutely gorgeous horse!

Lippizaner are pretty common in europe, where I live and Achal Teke are still rare but you see them occasionally.

I am very active in horse rescue, but watching those idixts unload that trailer, knowing they put a mini in a slippery, filthy, small trailor with 3 horses and no shavings, is beyond horrific.
