+Swol BrohamLincoln I personally loved Hawke, and didn't mind DA2 as a whole game. It differed quite a lot from DA:Origins, but never thought that was such a bad thing. As a gamer, I don't want sequels that are exactly similiar to the game that came before, but a slightly different one, and made DA2 went overboard on the difference part, but it is still a good game! The humor is the absolute best part of it for me, which is why I ended up making this video.. Even if the sound got messed up. :p

Crazy to think that it was originally meant to be Inquisition, and Hawke was going to be the Inquisitor. But all of its problems lay solely at EA’s feet, as they only gave BioWare 18months to get the game out! It really should have been marketed as a spinoff or something though and given a proper title.
You know... something occurred to me. In DAI, when you have to choose between Hawke and the Warden (Alistair, Loghain, or Stroud) There should have been a version where the Warden is Hawke's Warden sibling. It would've made it more heartbreaking. Do you Sacrifice Hawke or Bethany/Carver? Do you save Hawke, but doom him to watch the last member of his family (Not including Gamlen or Gamlen's daughter) die, or do you let Hawke die defending his brother/sister?
This is why I love dragon age 2. I get the game had a lot of short comings, but thankfully I play this game on pc and have a bunch of mods that fix them. I couldn't play this on console.

And it's not like Isabela doesn't participate in name calling and ridiculing life choices either.. I know I know, Aveline has many faults, but I will always stand her as a problematic yet incredibly self sacrificing and accepting character. She still honors a code to serve the greater good, something which I felt pretty much all other companions missed in this game. You're an elf? Okay cool, the alienage is problematic, but please also don't cause problems. You're a mage? Ok, not a huge fan4, but you're a nice person so who cares. You're a slattern? Thanks, I can now teach my kids that word.

I've read many of the tumblr-posts you've linked to before - it does for me, not change my mind on their dynamic. The first instance of bad blood between the two was instigated by Isabela, and if the relationship truly doesn't evolve then it's all up to Isabela to fix it. Aveline doesn't instigate any fights until act 2, and even that conversation isn't really that bad blooded. Isabela on the other hand has a lot of conversations where she says things that she KNOWS would make Aveline unsure or upset. Why protect the bully?I'm not saying that slut-shaming is the way to go, but Isabela was dissing Aveline on her sex-life before Aveline. So honestly - I don't see it. I see Isabela as an insecure person who takes it out in being aggressive - but why would it be Avelines job to understand and reach out a hand to help that?
