However, I had to watch this all the way through and the whole time I was admiring NOT the expertise involved in constructing something like this, which was impactful in and of itself, ...... • @user-jd8mw5mb9o
    @user-jd8mw5mb9o ปีที่แล้ว

    Great step-by-step video! We have been planning our 15x30 backyard putting green for over a year and this video has helped get us even closer to starting. We plan to use a sod cutter to take out the sod and then our tractor or loader to dig down enough. We are thinking we need to use a landscape edging material and I would rather stay away from landscape rocks and wondering if you used a plastic or metal edging material? We have used both and feel the metal shapes a little easier and hopefully should stand up to being in the ground for many years.
    We also plan to have a fringe and wondered if you have added a fringe or what you used to border up to it? Our backyard is also large, we live on a country property as well, so we are trying to decide if she should do even more turf around it or just deal with mowing.
    Thanks again, looking at the suppliers you used also.

    • @UnderParAcres
      @UnderParAcres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I used a cheap plastic edger, but if I had to do it again I would have used either metal or a thick bender board even though it would have cost more. I did not do a fringe but I could go back in the future and add a grinder with no problem. I am having no trouble with the grass around the green and it does not spread onto the green thanks to the edger. It looks really good so far but I will likely add a fringe at some point. Thanks for watching and reach out with any questions once you start. Good luck!

    • @UnderParAcres
      @UnderParAcres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      50 yards is a little too far out to hold since it’s a small green. I can hold a well struck pitch shot from about 25 - 30 yards but it has to be hit very sod with a lot of spin. If you are looking to hit 50 yard shots you would want to build a bigger green, use padding underneath, and get a turf with fibers over an inch long.
