I make Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana soup, it is all keto except for the potatoes. I substitute turnips for the potatoes. They are a little higher in carbs than radish but I served it to my sister who never even knew they were not regular potatoes.
I make the Zuppa Toscana as well, but use radish instead of potatoes. It was a bit strange at first, especially since I don't like veggies at all, but I absolutely LOVE them in my soup now. I just bought a couple of turnips to try for the next time I make it. I saw a recipe for mashed turnip, but it just looked lumpy and nothing like potatoes, so I was hesitant to try that.
@@TheJokesterSCR I just made mashed “potatoes” using hearts of palm. I mashed and fixed them like regular potatoes but I added garlic. Then I threw them into the oven with cheese on top. Absolutely delicious!
Make sure you stay with small to medium sized turnips or you’ll not be able to get rid of the pungent turnip taste. I also bake them just like a baked potato and add butter and sour cream - 😋😋
Thank you for the recipe, and the idea. I love beef stew. This looks delicious. Oh, and radishes are one of my favorite veggies. I will do as you instructed and cook separately. :) edit: Just read the comment from a commenter below who says they use turnips instead of radishes. I looked them up and they have 6.8 grams of sugar per 1 cup cooked. Wouldn't that be a problem on a KETO diet? Please help, I'm new to this.
A lot of veggies do have natural sugars. A cup of cubed turnips have only 5.8 net carbs, and 4.6g of the total carbs is from sugar. Radish has a total of 3.9g of total carbs, 2 net carbs, and only 2.2g of sugar in 1 cup chopped. Neither is bad, but radish has half the sugar content and less than half the carbs for the same amount. They're both totally Keto friendly though.
My little guy has been couching and sneezing. So many meds. I have been cooking him chicken and this all start. Thank you l think I will try cooking him something else.

Radishes are awesome in the air fryer
Do you fix them with olive oil and rosemary or some way different. I love them too!
I love roasted radishes!
I use cut up turnips in place of potatoes. They turn out with the same potato texture. Great recipe and I definitely plan on cooking this.
I’ve never tried turnips but I will

She breaks out in hives, get really itchy, her inside paws get raw and she gets ear infections. It’s terrible.
