It was also somewhat weird that jakes children( and all future offspring) all ended up with crazy superpowers, like I understand jake is stretchy and lady can has some minor powers, but for that to make every Pup in the future to have absurd powers didn’t really add up. But if you look at it through the lense of “they are all the offspring of a cosmic entity” it starts making a lot more sense
Yeah that's true, I didn't really cover it in this video because we never saw Jake attempt this, but since his Alien Dad and his future offspring both have portal making powers, this basically confirms that Jake has portal powers too and just never thought to try use them. He literally sees his Alien Dad stretch into a unique shape that unlocks a portal and Jake never questions it, he never asks "how did you do that? Can I do that? Let me try" or anything. The only time we see Jake attempt to be a portal, he was specifically being a pretend portal to distract Ice Finn. At no point did Jake ever believe or imagine that he can make portals, but he totally can 🤣
Yeah but we also don't really know the extent of the powers that Rainicorns have. We know they can change things colours at least and that they can open new dimensions, phase through matter and make matter temporarily incorporeal(when Lady fused various party members in her body to move them around in the murder party mystery episode) so it's not really surprising that his kids would have new powers that might exist as a sort of secret synergy between his own abilities and the abilities of ranicorns. Also to note is that, while he is a dog, he's an anthropomorphic extra-dimensional dog as his ancestors came from Lady's dimension. He's not native to Earth, he's half-alien, half-extradimensional alien dog. This means his children have 3 unique alien bloodlines and his grandchildren have even more.
@@Nanamowa pause for a second. Where exactly did you see that Jake's Dog bloodline came from Lady's Dimension? Because as far as I have seen... (Spoilers for an upcoming video) Rainicorns gained access to Ooo shortly after the Mushroom War and began eating Humans which triggered a war with Dogs. With Dogs being "Man's best friend" they fought the Rainicorn invasion right back into the Crystal Dimension from which they came. Upon winning the war, dogs claim ownershop over the crystal dimension and enforced Dog Law upon the remaining Rainicorns. Some family's like Lady's parents are cool with this because a dog saved their parents in the war or whatever, but Rainicorns like Lee never accepted Dog Law and want to war again to reclaim the Crystal Dimension for Rainicorns once more.
@@HeadCasey why would he ask, it seems like something a cosmic entity could do. Could be a genetics thing as well, he's not going to inherit every power but his children/grandchildren can. Accom's razor I guess.
To further specify his stretching powers, he is capable of: -Changing the shape of his body at will -Fusing and unfusing parts of his body - we see this in the way he makes a key with a hole in it using his hand. Hands do not have holes, however, meaning he's not just changing its shape, but its topography. -Spontaneously creating and uncreating matter - Jake's weight seems to be in proportion to his size. This means he's not necessarily 'stretching' at all, which implies the same mass being spread across a greater area; rather, he is gaining mass. Moreover when he gets poisoned and expands his liver, his liver is not just the size of 51 dog livers, but also has the functionality, indicating that he has not just stretched his liver out but increased its mass. The ability to spontaneously create and destroy matter is so powerful that it literally breaks the laws of physics.
It used to annoy me how his powers worked until the writers made it clear that it was intentional. One of Jake's daughters has the ability to grow but without increasing mass. There was a scene where she got huge and walked across the earth and became transparent.
He also has the capacity to spontaneously create new mouths / eyes / noses / etc. on his body. This never happens in the main show but in the comic it's made a point out of, and it's not outlandish to assume that main show jake can also do that, but doesn't due to not knowing how to.
Bingo, that's one of two reasons I left that exact moment in, the other reason is that it also proves that Book-o and his interpretation of "the known multiverse" are running in real-time.... Which is truly insane when you remember that the Enchiridion (with Booko inside) was already an ancient artifact when Simon found it before the Mushroom War even began. So the book is at least several thousand years old and is implied to be scanning/watching the entire "known" multiverse that entire time
Except it's not. Booko pulled up the live view of the Multiverse before Jake said "enhance" so the live feed we saw, already existed separate to Jake. If you don't like "finding the answers" and think it's just "overthinking" then you might be on the wrong channel 😅
I thought the enchiridion was zooming into itself, like it projected a projection of the universe and zoomed into that, which had its own projection of the multiverse etc
@@snailtan4332yeah, but the last thing we see is jake before it loops, not the book, which is why it confuses and hurts jake's brain. It could be that it's because jake was the one to say enhance, that it zoomed into him, but also could mean that jake is the centre of the universe.
Someone may have mentioned it, but notice how when the lich shows the primordials, they are all yellow like Jake. Orgalorg in particular resembles a Jake transformation
Slight variance in timeline. His parents didn’t adopt Finn in the middle of his criminal career. Finn and Jake were babies together. Dogs just grow up faster, so he went off and did crime while Finn was still a toddler. Then their parents died and Jake stepped up and took over raising Finn. Which always surprised me cause Germaine seemed a lot more responsible.
Sorry but I think you might need to double check that. "Dogs just grow up faster" Except that Jake was born with his powers in tact, he technically was never a baby, just baby sized and pretending to be a baby for a while. Now Jake says he did his crime spree "a long time ago, before we knew it was wrong" and we clearly see several episodes/examples of Joshua and Margaret raising Finn and Jake to be Nobel Hero's together. So he already knew right from wrong at that point and Jake was on the "path of good" long before his parents actually died. So it truly was Finns introduction into his life that was the key factor in Jake's lifestyle change.
I mean, Tiffany's Rant even starts with that. "I was friends with Jake... Then some baritone herb stole him away from me!" And then Finn says "I didn't steal him, we are brothers"
@@HeadCasey I don’t think your theory contradicts this comment though. Jake came out singing and dancing, but immediately flopped over limp. I don’t think he was fully functional at all, that was just his version of when newborn babies burp and sneeze right after birth. Also, Jake was surprised when his own pups grew up much faster than he did, in only a day. So I think it’s safe to say that Jake was a baby for at least longer than a day, but I’d figure it was more like a normal puppy timeline. Say, 6 months
@@rosamy2017 it really really does though. Let's say the other guy is right and it took Jake 6 months from Birth to start crime... Finn still wasn't in the picture at that point. They didn't adopt Finn the day after Jake was born. They adopted Finn some time later when they actually found him. This means that sure "Jake could have done his crime spree while Finn was still a toddler" but Finn arrived at Ooo as a toddler already. Jake's Crime Spree ended when Finn become his brother and they all played babies together (even though Jake didn't have to) for a few years learning Right and Wrong together from the parents before they died.
Jake ages in dog years. Firstly, in the First Investigation(S10E8), it was shown Finn, Jake and Jermaine (the forgotten brother) all as babies. Finn was a baby when he was found in Ooo, as said by Margaret when she found him. Secondly, the end scene of the BMO episode of distant lands confirms that BMO met Finn and Jake when Finn was a toddler and Jake was in his twenties. Jake was in his signature 20’s jacket that was seen in the flashbacks of Daddy-Daughter Card Wars (S8E11). Which confirms Jake ages in dog years. Because if Finn was a toddler when BMO came then in dog years Jake would be at least 22. Also that was about the time of his complete meltdown from the Card Wars game, which may have started his crime spree downfall. Its my favourite show, don’t at me 😄
It always struck me as a bit odd that Jake was friends with Prismo and other cosmic entities / gods to the point that he could just hang out in The Time Room. Like, I could see him being invited over once in while via Dreams and catching a ride from the Dream Owl, but Prismo goes out of his way to transport Jake's full corporeal form to The Time Room on the regular? Wild. "Yea, here's cosmic Wishmaster Prismo, The Cosmic Owl of prophetic dreams, Martian God: Grob Gob Glob Grod, The Party God, etc. Oh, and here's Jake the Dog. No, he's a mortal, but he can do cool stretchy stuff. show 'em Jake!" Jake actually being some lowkey cosmic entity flying under the radar is just... _mind blown_ Upon further thought, I wonder if Jake is loosely based on Azathoth, at least in concept. Basic shared descriptors being, "...he is always changing." and "Possesses the powers of Reality Dreaming"
Exactly, for me the main clue was when Prizmo straight up refuses Jake's wish. Like he casually allows the Lich to wish away all life in all realities, he casually allows Finn to wish up a reality that eventually breaks the Multiverse, but he won't allow Jake to wish for a sandwich? Prizmo goes out of his way to basically force Jake to use his "one wish" in a way that guarantees that Jake (and by extension Finn) return home safely. Why? Why was Prizmo so invested in Jake right from the beginning? That moment is what started me on the Prizmo mystery originally 😅
Does anyone notice that through out the seasons jake gets way less interested in adventuring and he slowly starts losing his mind. He wants to just live a peaceful life, but since he is a dog. His instinct is to follow his onwer (fin) til the death. Which they actually did.
😱 i love the Azothoth theory. Like he's the God to rule all gods? But he's just like a normal dude at heart. It takes a huge concept and brings it down to earth
@HeadCasey imagine if he got to the power of original Jake. I always wonder what would happen if he won, would he become the new prismo? What would the Litch do after he wins?
I always thought that Prismo was jake because of the time loop thing. But this adds so much more to it. It explains why Jake gets along with prismo AND party god so well
It's true, I always found Prizmos interactions with Jake super suspicious. Like when Prizmo refuses to grant Jake's wish for "a sandwich" and instead Prizmo explains the power of wishes to Jake, then literally helps Jake word the "correct wish" to help Finn and set everything right. Like, what was Prizmos motivation to basically rewrite Jake's wish to save Finn, Jake and Ooo? Like he casually lets the Lich wish away all life in all realities, then he casually lets Finn wish up a reality that eventually breaks the multiverse. But he won't let Jake waste his wish on a sandwich??? Super Sus Because he seemed REALLY motivated to get Jake home safely 😅
@@HeadCaseyI always just thought Prismo was gay and liked Jake, so he didn’t want his reality to cease existence. Prismo even says “Dude, I like you, so ..” and then he goes on to explain why wishing for a sandwich was stupid. Even if it’s not a romance thing, Prismo and Jake still had a good relationship in general, even during just that episode, and that could be the reason.
@@bruv7569 sure, Prismo is gay for Jake in the same way that I am gay for me. I love me soooooo much. I would protect myself in the way Prismo protects Jake. Since they are technically the same being, it makes sense to me
@@HeadCasey Im late but the lich didnt destroy all life in every reality, only 1. You actually get to see it in Fiona and Cake. It was a reality created to fulfill the wish, not THE main timeline i guess. Because multiverse reasons I'm hoping we get to see who Prismo's boss actually is too somehow.
@@Taevarth right, that was part of my point. "If" someone was about to ruin the multiverse (EG remove all life from every world) then it's Prismos Job to prevent that. So he does 🤷♀️
Omg, this theory.. It really helps explain a lot of things. For example when Jake has heard about "blank eyed girls", started freaking out over it, and as result - they appeared. And they acted like they followed his thoughts. Very good video after all, wish you good luck and a lot of numbers!! Really deserve it!
Seconded. I'm deeply invested in these dives. I love the show and all the fun and interesting layers it gives. I love the commentary it creates. But I always had questions like these and seeing it presented like this is deeply satisfying. Seeing logic we all know from watching applied in this way is helping me get some closure on the show ending. Also why i live shows like this and Doctor Who.
It never sat right with me that Finn had a "favorite" brother. They almost never interacted with Jermaine. Jermaine had to grow up as the "normal" sibling. He didn't have super strength like Finn, he didn't have stretchy powers like Jake. He was doomed to a life of mediocrity; the brother who would forever be left out. To live a life of solitude, never being invited to go on adventures because he was "normal". It's sad how Finn and Jake could treat their own brother, never showing him the love that they felt for each other.
Yeah, it's really brutal to think about. I kinda skipped over that part in my video because there is an entire episode about Finn and Jake finally seeing Jermaines perspective and that is one of my all time favourites. ~our friendship, it matters, booboo susa~
Omg Jake is Glob. That is why he is always so philosophical, doesn't fear death, always only wishes for a sandwich etc. It's because he already had everything and is now trying to live a simple life.
Well, yeah 😅 Pretty much. I don't know if anyone else noticed this (and I didn't have time to montage it into the video) but outside of wishing to save Finn that time, Jake ALWAYS wishes for a sandwich. His "the limit" wish was used on Sandwich. His Thought-canon wish was for a Sandwich. And he even attempts to use his Prismo wish for a sandwich too 🤦♀️
@@HeadCasey He really likes sandwiches 😂 Plus the way he made the perfect sandwich that time. It was used as a joke but he actually put souls in that thing 😧
Imagination is just a general form of magic in adventure time. Finn does it too but it's harder for him. The trick is you really have to believe what you think is real for it to work.
I don't know if Finn ever did it solo. He always did it around Jake, and if Finn is imagining something loudly then Jake can hear that and simply imagine it too. Like the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant. They literally share an imagination bubble as they both picture the elephant at the same time
I think it’s more realizing nothing is real and you can create things from your imagination by have a connection to magic, aka a connection to the “boss” primso was talking about, the ones who let you create things and if they don’t see fit imprison you in a cosmic prison. It’s a fine line, if you’re not contributing to the story, you will be imprisoned, like how fins dad was imprisoned until he was of use in the timeline.
@@suenoslucidos3899 that's a huge stretch. We don't know why Finns Dad was jailed other than commiting a cosmic crime. Also there are countless characters who imagine stuff that simply never happens or is confirmed false in-episode. So there is little to no evidence that anyone can just imagine whatever they want. And even less evidence that imagining things is a cosmic crime. Perhaps rewatch the show to reconfirm the established lore again :)
There was an episode where Finn had to rely on his imagination to save Jake. Jake's not the only one, it just comes natural to him because he doesn't separate reality from what's in his mind
@@bordensmusic It's the same episode. The episode where Jake's imagination goes haywire is the same episode Finn uses his imagination to fix/save Jake. However as I already stated above, Finn was actually only able to do any of that because Jake specifically believed he could. It was Jake's power influencing Finn in that moment and all similar moments. I defy you to provide a single example from the show of anytime anyone else solo imagines something into existence without Jake being aware.
The thing with Jake “flying” when he does the loops at 19:05 is actually something you can do with a slinky or rope ladder. It’s just a stretching related physics thing. And he does still fall at the end, just basically stretched the distance.
As someone who's read the comics, I remember there being a bunch of fighting moves Finn and Jake experimented with or wanted to experiment with. One of them is "Planet Jake" where Jake stretches very thin over the whole planet and punches the bad guy from space or something. I don't think they actually did this at any point but Finn and Jake certainly considered it lmao, they don't even know the extent of Jake's powers.
I have to poke one hole in the theory; in the episode Root Beer Guy, a plane flies overhead the candy Kingdom. This might be the only time in the series we see an operating plane but they are still in use by somebody.
In all fairness tho, it’s possible jake needs at least a basic understanding of the thing rather than just seeing it. At first glance you can tell a car moves because the tires roll. It’s easy then to just make tires that roll and move forward. A plane words differently, it has to stay in the air unlike cars and boats which are held up by the ground and water respectively. We see jake is clearly capable of getting the propeller to spin but it’s much harder to understand the concept of lift, which checks out given that Jake mistakenly tries flapping the wings showing he doesn’t understand it.
@@HeadCasey sorry i missed that. yeah i guess he just cannot conceptualize how planes fly with the physics of lift and air pressure etc. but sometimes panics and becomes a plane anyway
@@fungushoney9958Imagination does not require an accurate thorough conceptualization of all necessary mechanisms. But having borne witness to the mushroom war in at least one alternate universe is likely to have been traumatic enough to inflict complex PTSD, which can have devastating effects on the imagination of things that are associated with the trauma. I hope no one will ever have to experience any wars ever again, and so I aspire to be a peace activist. Jake has too much trauma associated with airplanes.
@@HeadCaseyI was originally replying to just oryx and adding onto his theory but i would like to know your opinion) flapping is not how a plane works, jake flapping like a bird clearly shows he doesn't know how planes work so he can't fly as a plane. Maybe that's the catch to his power if he doesn't know how something works he can't fully imagine it maybe that's what holds him back. Meaning if he knew how his powers worked he could reach his full potential. When Jake does fly he flies in a very similar pattern to lady Rainicorn and if she explained to Jake how flying works for rainicorns then Jake could have effortlessly imagined it working for him by imagining that he's channeling the power of rainicorns to make him fly. He has no clue about the physics that makes a plane fly so therefore he cannot imagine it and it cannot be.
i think for the "who would win" bit i do honestly think they are equally matched. although jake does have brute strength and a clear advantage, he's very brash and arrogant, while Finn is a bit more methodical in his maneuvers and makes the best of every situation. it's very much power against technique and why they make such a good duo.
@@conradlorgar5508 sure, if he believes a 12 year old can defeat him. He was once killed by BMO using a karate move that BMO learned like an hour earlier from a magazine. Jake believed it would work, and it did. The fact that BMO is the size and strength of a Gameboy made no difference. The episode Preboot starts with Jake talking about how he hasn't been cursed in a while and hopes to get a good curse put on him again soon so he can enjoy the challenge of overcoming it. He has states several times in the show that he believes the problems in life are what make the adventure worth living, so he wouldn't magic away the problems even if he knew he could
I'm also reminded of Jake's inclusion in the prophecy on Mars, as told by GGGG and the King of Mars. I think they are very aware of Jake's cosmic importance, even if they perhaps lack some of the detail why. Lincoln's Sacrifice in reference to this event makes all the more sense given that context! I've loved all your videos on AT so far, thank you so much for making them!
Exactly! You can find suspicious Jake related stuff in almost every corner of the land, including on Mars 🤣 I swear rewatching the show is going to "trip everyone out" now that they know what suspicious Jake things to be looking for 😂
@@HeadCasey yeah when you said it might change parts of the show i didn't think you'd mean that absolutely everything revolves around jake LMAO, but it'll still be enjoyable to try and figure out where and when jake affects things throughout i think.
Only Mainworld Jake Died, and he was always going to - as per Part 1 of this video "The life and times" 🤷♀️ You seem to forget that every other Jake outlived Mainworld Jake, even Farmworld Jake 🤣 Also the only Jake that actually matters, is the one who slept forever to create Prismo and the cosmic forces in the first place 🤷♀️ Also we already know how that Jake dies, in an infinite loop of sacrificing himself to become Prismo - who then sacrifices himself to get Finn and Jake to the citadel. "It will be cool" - Prismo
26:04 It's most likely just a coincidence but it really looks like Jake has 5 closed eyes in this scene paced the same way his 5 eyes are when he's in blue alien form
The universe zooming into Jake infinitely at 22:34 could also be an indicator that he is responsible for reality as it is. Hes the source of creation in it so itd make sense for it to constantly source back to him? Maybe!
Well I did leave that scene in on purpose because it's suspicious in many ways, not just that it zooms in on Jake.... But that it's imagery is in real time, we see Jake freaking out inside the projection so it's a "live feed" of the universe at that moment... Which suddenly becomes extra suspicious when we remember that the Enchiridion is probably the oldest relic in the show... It's been able to watch the entire Multiverse in real time for the entire time that it existed...
Well.. not really. I don't know if you know the context behind the video but its the enchiridion zooming into the universe, and since jake is the one who asked the enchiridion to zoom in it makes some sense that it zooms into the person who asked.
17:57 he also imagined the wood from the tree falling off with one punch and sinking, WOOD SINKING, while the whole bed remains intact and afloat perfectly still
It’s weird how the show runners made sure to show Jake’s powers were only stretching and he couldn’t split up his body and reattach it to do it. Or something like merge is hand into his body while stretching. But there are several times they forgot he couldn’t do that. Like when he ran through that gate. He clearly separated and recombined on the other side.
Im pretty sure what happened is he ran into the gate and his body was pushed backwards while he reformed his body forwards so he didnt actually separate, all of the parts of his body that touched the gate were moved backwards
One thing, Finn also "dreams up" the pillow world during another knife storm. That leads me to believe the knife storm is a kind of imagination solidifying phenomenon, I'd even say it's magic and caused a bridge between dimensions
Finn didn't dream up Pillow World. Pillowworld existed before Finn portaled there on that day. Also Golb appeared at the end to eat Pillow World. Finns Memory of Pillow World fades when he returns because he left just moments before that entire reality was consumed by Golb removing it from all existance as if it never even happened. Not to mention that the roaming portal in and out of Pillow World is explained perfectly when Booko explained that some universe become linked by naturally occuring portals at random times, while other portals are forced open by items of great power. The portal to Pillow World is just a randomly occurring one that only happens every so often.
@@HeadCasey I used "dreams up" in quotes because it isn't actually dreamed up by him, but you can't ignore the fact that he is entering a pillow fort during the knife storm. This imagination enhancing phenomenon could very well have acted as a magic catalyst to create a portal between Finn's pillow fort and the pillow world itself. Surely you can see my reasoning here. My point is that the Knife Storm is shown as a magical imagination solidifying phenomenon any time it's encountered.
No I do not agree with that. We only saw the Knife Storm twice, but we saw things that could be argued as "reality getting loose" countless times in the show. So how come there are plenty of times that things got weird without a knife storm being present? The fact that both times we saw knife storms happened to be during weird events can easily just be coincidence. There is zero proof that the knife storms are connected to the events in any way.
@@HeadCaseythings get weird because it’s adventure time. Even though it’s a well thought out show, lots of things are done just to be silly and they don’t worry about making complete sense all the time.
one of the few moments in this series that I've never been able to buy is Finn surviving having his head dipped in lava in "Jake Suit." it would make sense that he survived because of Jake's powerful desire not to actually kill Finn. in "The New Frontier" we see that Finn is one of the only things more important to Jake than his incredible amount of respect for the natural order of things. he's fully prepared to let himself drown and fulfill his croak dream until Finn tries to drown with him. it makes sense that, if he were to ever use his power to shape reality, consciously or unconsciously, it would be to save Finn. or maybe I'm thinking about it too hard, lol
also, the idea that Jake's will shapes reality is incredibly interesting and funny to me. it feels very adventure time. because Jake has an immense respect for the natural order of things (when he has a croak dream he gets all excited about the idea of dying the way he's supposed to), immediately accepts pretty much any hand dealt to him, good or bad (he often ends up in a bad situation and immediately starts getting comfortable, just trying to accept his new reality) has explicitly stated he likes having problems because it makes life more interesting, sometimes intentionally avoiding using stretching to solve his problems, and when Prismo gave him the opportunity to wish for anything, he chose a sandwich. you'd be hard pressed to come up with a character who would be *less* likely to actually use infinite power, so he's the perfect character to give it to
I think it also creates an interesting parallel with warren ampersand, who basically creates a whole civilization around Jake to manipulate him. Jake could do that and so much more, but doesn't
@@birdlegscass honestly your comments might be my favourite, because they are the most like what I was thinking back before I made this video 😅 many of the examples you mentioned are ones that I had seriously considered when trying to understand Jakes deal, in the end I felt that the show was so littered with good examples that I simply couldn't fit them all into this video or it would have become hours long hahahaha
Old Man Prismo Jake and the Finn Sword have always been a weirdly sad thing for me, both of them lost control of who they were by past-future versions of themselves just a couple of minutes older, it always felt kinda dirty but understandable
Yeah really that whole thing was not cool, basically sacrificing a version of Jake and basically dooming a version of Finn to a tortured existence just to make Prismo alive again. Pretty cold Prismo, pretty cold.
yeah that’s why fern (who was literally finn sword) was so jealous of Finn towards the end of the series, but finn tried hard to make fern feel happy and useful in life.
@@reven06 so the loop only exists so that Prismo can exist. See Prismo was actually Old Man Jake all along, so in order for Prismo to exist he actually had to create Old Man Jake. The time loop was the only way to create an Old Man Jake while still keeping a version of Jake alive and normal. Pretty sneaky Prismo
I'm loving everything about this deep dive. Thank you for putting this all together in a way that's easy to break down. I've always felt Jake was coded neurodivergent, specifically adhd. And his strong need to just vibe with the world and enjoy it makes sense, we have to chase the dopamine. Amd the hyper realistic imagination so strong that things become makes sense. We can feel things so deeply that it feels like it's as real when it isn't. But people can react to us as though its real too, because in our minds it is.
You mentioned his death at the beginning of the video, but if you think about it, his death at the end of the series, literally ends the series, as in the reality (the show) ceases to exist when Jake no longer exists. It all comes full circle.
Except the series ends 1000 years in the future with shermy (possible reincarnated fin) and beth (a descendent/ possible reincarnation of Jake). Meaning that things kept going on in that reality And distant lands shows a grown up fin with a Jake tattoo on his chest implying Jake has passed away
@@pathead9944 you are forgetting that a version of Jake is currently sleeping forever as Prismo himself. So the timeloop holds up regardless of the other Jake (our Jake who died)
well.. no, things still move on even without jake.. you can see that the candy kingdom flourished into a metropolis or a city, all while jake was evidently dead. this happened probably ages before sheremy & beth popped up too.
@@Glassbox613 did you ignore the message directly above yours? Jake isn't dead, a single version of Jake is dead, but the important Jake is still totally alive sleeping forever within Prismos Time Room. Once Prismo finished the timeloop, it was problem solved forever
I have a feeling that the reason that jake can’t become a plane is because he has the density of a dog. A plane is perfectly engineered to be as light as possible while also being as strong as possible.
I like that episode where Jake goes inside himself cause alot of people in that episode voice characters in Futurama. Anyone reading this probably knows this but I just want to state that I like it cause Bender is one of my favorite characters John Dimaggio voices, alongside Jake
Thank you very much, if you think this one was well researched then please stay tuned, I promise that later in the year I have a few very heavily researched ones to drop
I love this so much because it emphasizes the power of imagination and embellishes on the power each and everyone of us has. Absolutely beautifully done.
Thank you for this awesome video ! It was so good so good. i heard the knives falling from the sky is a weather phenomenon that alters reality, like in the Puhoy episode. The weather encourages feelings and imaginations to become real! I think. Like when Finn was feeling weird bout Flame Princess and the whole Pillow World family situation became real! I think Jake dreaming up Prismo is more based on Prismo’s and Jake’s awesome bro bond than Jake being a reality shifter. He’s definitely a good dreamer though. Sentient sand which picks up Jake by the nostrils! He isn’t flying by himself. But i feel like the difference doesn’t really matter. He is flying. Idk I’ve heard it argued either way. Jake is awesome. I wonder what’s up with Magic Man and his injection at the beginning of Everything is Jake. I love your theory with Prismo and Jake holding things together so much! It’s so fun thinking of Jake chilling and partying and stuff as the most powerful being.
That's a brilliant comment. Yes I admit the Knife Storms are super suspicious, only seen a few times in the show and they always seem to happen during weird events 🤔 Although I don't know if the knife storms and the weird events are directly related or just, the days that Jake gets stuck inside he lets his imagination wander more than usual resulting in the weird events. As for Pahoy, I never considered that the world was imagined into existence during the episode. I always focused on the ending too much, watching Golb show up at the end to assumably eat the Pillow World always had me thinking "pillow world was real" but just because it was real in the end doesn't mean it wasn't imagined into existence in the beginning 😯 Well. I have a lot to think about now 😅
In this case I would argue primo/jake's boss is actually finn(i could say "or something comparable" but as you noted finn has a huge impact on jake.). Finn is textually an enlightened being outside the system who just prefers living within it. So if prismo is creating the universe with his imagination, what could be his superior be than something outside and above the entire system? How else could it be their problem? Wouldn't they vanish? But no it's THEIR problem. Jake has to redream everything back up, finn would have to wake up fully while there is no dream to live in.
That's a fair argument, although it's easy for me to say that Prismo puts some of the blame onto Finn for wishing Farm World exists in the first place 🤷♀️ But how any of that situation is Jake's fault is beyond me... but Prismo puts it on them both 🤔
@@HeadCasey To be fair only Prismo is aware of their role in everything. While jake (the source) is existing, and Prismo merely maintaining everything while Jake influences everything. Technically Jake let it happen, but Prismo couldnt warn them of what could happen prior either.
This just might be the best Adventure time theory I've ever heard!!! It all makes perfect sense! Great job man; you obvious but a lot of time/effort/thought into this. Thank you! P.S. - he's also the same default colour pallet as all the Monsters that existed at the beginning of time. That says something, 'cause on account of they're all like cosmic primordial gods or some jazz!
You are most welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned because later this year I have a few more Adventure Time theories up my sleeve and perhaps they could even rival this one for "best theory" 😏 Wait for it ... I mean wait a while, my next AT video will be a fairly lighthearted silly theory, but the two after that will both be real serious whammys, you won't wanna miss 'em 😜
I watched this through and through and was fully pulled in the ENTIRE time, im baked n slightly on the spectrum but i havnt been so enthrawled in a video in so long, excellent work
Thank you for the kind words. "Baked and slightly on the spectrum" is the best way to watch my videos 😅 Please stay tuned because I have a few more enthralling videos planned for later in the year
Haha this is great! It’s like Jake’s power is being able to make imagination reality which parallels Monkey D. Luffy. Funny how these two characters I love have very similar powers that at first glance are seemingly simple stretchy powers.
I've heard a few people making this comparison in the comments here so I guess it must be true 😅 I haven't seen One Piece so I will just take your word for it 😇
The part that I would say your missing is about GOLB. As even Prismo's Time Room does not affect GOLB whatsoever (this is seen with Magic Man wishing Margles back and Simon wishing Betty back they only get a trashcan with a basketball hoop on it and a paper going through said hoop into trashcan). Only when you are inside of GOLB would a wish even be slightly possible. But there are certain limits to that. For even wishes can't wish them away, and this is seen when Betty is inside of GOLB. The wish allows her to become one with GOLB to protect Simon, but any wish to wish GOLB to not exist does not work at all. If we do follow the theory you present then that might mean GOLB is Jake's opposite. For it seems that Jake would create; while at the same time GOLB would be the destroyer. This then would lead to Jake not being omnipotent in the Adventure Time multiverse, as some how they would need to combine into one entity for Jake/GOLB to become omnipotent. But this is a theory just like the theories you are presenting.
I'm pretty sure in rainy day daydream the whole episode Finn was just playing along with Jake, to show that using your imagination can be fun. And in 12:27 Lady was changing his colour not Jake himself.
as much as i find this theory very interesting, there are some holes. First off, Jake can only color shift between yellow and blue, and that's because hes part yellow dog and part blue alien, not because he imagines it. Second, the episode with Jake imagining things and them becoming real is more of an abstract episode, and it isn't only him who can do it, but Finn too. The whole point of the episode is to encourage kids to be creative and have fun, especially since its part of the earlier, less meaningful episodes. it makes sense that he has to imagine the things that he builds using his own stretch bod, but not things outside of his powers. Though, I gotta say this was very well thought out and honestly quite scary to think about if it was indeed true.
You clearly missed the two examples shown in the video where he also colour shifted red. So add red into your "only yellow and blue" restrictions that you made up. Finn didn't actually have any powers over imagination, he said out loud everything he was trying to imagine, so Jake was able to believe in Finn's imagination and thus the things Finn wanted to imagine real became real because Jake believed they would. There are many examples in the show of people telling Jake what they believe will happen next, and then it does. You will be hard pressed to find any examples of anyone imagining anything into existence without Jake specifically being around. Also the early episodes are still canon, people who try tell you they aren't are wrong.
Jake most likely can't imagine whatever he wants into being true. To recall, Finn actually imagined Jake's memory back to normal style which could mean that Jake could originally have had the power but no longer because of Finn.
Nah, all of that (Including Finn being able to imagine up a machine that controls Jake's imagination) only happened because Jake Imagined it could 🤷♀️ it's was Jake's power at play the entire time. Finn himself doesn't have any imagination powers at all.
-Fusing and unfusing parts of his body - we see this in the way he makes a key with a hole in it using his hand. Hands do not have holes, however, meaning he's not just changing its shape, but its topography.
I want you to know that this has changed the way I think and perceive all things. I decided not to be sad and then I wasn't. I decided to be tired at a normal time and I went to bed. I think about this video so much thank you for making it.
I am genuinely touched by your comment. 😁 I am truly happy to hear my video empowered you with fresh perspective and renewed control over your own mind. I am honestly glad I made a video that could inspire people like this... This said, I must warn specifically you about the next video. This video was about Jake holding his mind together, the next video is about BMO letting his mind fall apart. I don't want you to fall apart or lose any progress due to the content of the next video. Please keep in mind that these videos are made mostly for entertainment purposes and so any life lessons learned from them are just a bonus x
@@HeadCasey the next one sounds great! you can't take anything too seriously in life but I'm excited to see what it has in store, thank you so much for doing what you enjoy 😊
Amazing video. While I'll have to give more thought to the "Jake is a cosmic being/Prismo's boss" thing, I definitely agree with Jake's powers being reliant on his imagination and willpower. Also, somewhat unrelated, if you want to get into the nitty gritty mathematics, Jake doesn't technically "stretch" or at least he doesn't exclusively. Pulled from the internet: "Topology is the mathematical study of the properties that are preserved through deformations, twistings, and stretchings of objects. Tearing, however, is not allowed." Jake, however, tears when he creates new holes (such as the clip you showed where he transforms from a solid magnifying glass into just the rim and handle of the magnifying glass. Same as when he becomes a donut.) He changes his inherent topology, something that you cannot achieve through stretching alone. So either he functions as some sort of liquid that can tear and join back with itself, or his true form exists in a higher dimension or something.
Brilliant comment. For the record while I claim "Jake is Prismos boss" I didn't know if I was clear enough that Jake doesn't know that he is the boss. Jake just thinks he is Jake, it's part of the whole "Jake doesn't understand his own powers" bit. And your right, he either acts as a liquid (as shown at the start of the video in "life and times" when I show him squish himself fluidly through a gate reforming on the other side without issue) or he acts as a Glob of some sort (as shown near the end of the video)
Great video, thanks so much! . One thing I did notice in reference to the beginning scene though was this: In the episode "Another Five More Short Graybles", ice king provides movies for the penguins to vote between for movie night, and one of them has a picture of a plane on the title, as well as "airplanes" or something similar in the name! So some do have a concept of planes!
That is a good point! Well played. Too bad Jake thinks most of the Ice Kings tapes are creepy and full of nonsense. I have a feeling Jake didn't see most of the Ice Kings tapes. After Holly Jolly Secrets I think both Finn and Jake decided to leave the Ice Kings old tapes alone 😅
@@HeadCasey & i know it has to be incredibly time consuming to make these and collect the clips, but if you could make more adventure time related content that’d be really awesome. I just watched your other ones and im itching for more.

@@itsv1p3r oh my Multiverse video covers a lot more than just those two shows 🤣 I cover everything from The Simpsons to Scooby Doo 🤷♀️ if it had any relevance in a multiverse setting then I probably mentioned it 😂
Yeah good catch, I always viewed that moment as "Jake's face melting slightly due to stressing about his brain not being focused" but it makes much more sense if it's just his "true form" peaking out from under his dog layer
It would be so crazy if Jake actually changes the dimensions/multiverse/reality he's in. Like how the pilot of adventure time was pen and Jake it suddenly changed into finn and Jake. It's like the teen titans episode with the 5D character with dick Grayson spelled backwards or superman's best 5D friend. Jake changes the narrative and if he lets imagination run too wild he changes everything including the appearance of the cartoon he resides in. That's why when Darren and the war elephant fought he said that everything was different, because Jake probably messed with the narrative, and the appearance of the reality, and that's why things seem to be dumbed down a bit. It went from beings like the lich, Darren, the war elephant, prison kept with ancient unexplained beings, golb, glob, Abraham Lincoln, to the cAnDy kInDoM, with dumbed down characters. Ever think about why finn went from a kid who was able to throw a giant over his shoulder to a guy who can't even compete with vampires even though he's an abstract like Jake? Because of Jake. Adventure time is a story about two abstracts in a playground called the multiverse.
It's also worth pointing out that when jake "enhances" at 22:33 it loops zooming in on him. Jake is the center of his universe, but also contains himself and the universe
Honestly, it's very interesting to see how many details we overlooked because it's "a children's show". So to see them through this new lens is amazing. Thanks :S
Now that i think about it, jake really disregard his life quite easily which makes me believe he is like this simply because of his father (the alien one) probably made it so he instinctively wouldnt have a problem with dying if he were drained of his life force.
Interesting thought, but it doesn't quite hold up due to the rest of Jake's philosophy. See there are several times when Jake explains that he refuses to stretch out of every problem, because having problems and finding the way to overcome them is part of what makes life worth living. One time he wouldn't even stretch to get a cornchip out of his teeth when it was annoying him endlessly. If Jake's motives are preset by Alien Dad, then his goal should be to stretch all the time, as much as possible (as that's the type of kid that would benefit the Dad the most) but by that logic Jake is one of his laziest kids.
Party Dog definitely fits the theme. Parties by their very nature are combination of order, planning, etc and chaos, drunkeness, etc. Then here's the tricky part: GOD spelled backwards is DOG
I guess when I said he doesn't "fit the theme" I mean that the others have "jobs" and do those jobs all the time. Party dog just parties and dates an island apparently, like, he has no genuine purpose in the day to day events of the cosmos
27:55 Don't forget about the jewels from Ice King's crown that can grant wishes. Those came from the magma dog, Magwood which we found out from the episode with Urgence Evergreen. Also the fact that it is a canine/dog-like being like the Party God.
I skipped the Ice Crown on purpose 😏 In fact all my videos just gloss over the Ice King plotlines and magic... The reason is because Simon, The Ice King and The Crown itself all are key pieces of my final theory about the Mushroom War so I promise I will talk about them in grand detail when the time comes 😜
Thank you, I got a professional microphone a while back and decided to use it in making these videos 😁 Glad to hear it sounds clear because I do some slight audio tweaking to remove background noise 🤷♀️
@@HeadCasey I use an Uhuru and as long as I'm at the right distance there's hardly any audio tweaking needed, but I do need some soundproofing soon. Great video by the way, looking forward to more
When you said "reality shifting" I literally thought "no that literally never fucking happened that's bullshit" Then "rainy day daydream" I was like "oh right....."
This theory is the equivalent of when you realize Super man in the Justice League only ever gets beaten up while the sun is down. 😆 Something you can only appreciate on rewatch.
The whole idea of if Jake isn't present or sane in a universe it starts going whacky, reminds me lf the DC concept of a dark universe, where a universe deviates so far from the baseline that it starts collapsing
If before time, before there was anything, there were monsters... and Jake is just keeping himself from being a monster... then maybe Jake was a Monster before he became Jake.
The entire time loop of doubling both Jake and Finn, Jake becoming old man Prismo, Finn becoming Finn Sword, then later Fern after the magic effects of a morally ambiguous grass spirit, just implies to me that there is a parallel universe that prismo either created or deprived of Finn and Jake just to complete that time loop. And prismo just causally fixing the reality threatening stuff most of the time is awesome. And I think the only times he doesn’t is when Jake is involved and can’t imagine they actually win when he hears about them, like the Liche getting it the time room, and the liche killing prismo.
Pretty sure the Lich getting into the time room and killing old man Prismo was both the start and the end of the complete loop. I also am led to believe that he didn't sacrifice alternative universe versions of Finn and Jake, he literally made a time travel copy of each of them, like he made a copy of them by allowing them to enter his time-room twice at the same time. Ok I'm not explaining it well, but if I grabbed you from right now into the time room, then I grabbed you from 5 minutes ago into the time room, now I have two of you even though they are both just you from a few minutes apart. The catch with this is, I can only put one of you back into the timeline. One of you is now a time paradox that won't fit back into the timeline, so, that's the one that becomes a cosmic sacrifice and a key piece of the loop that causes Prismo to exist in the first place 🤣
Prismo is such an easy character to explain, he is just a plot device, he moves the story along and is used as a way to connect things, that’s all, it’s not complicated, he is powerful because he needs to be in order to make the cartoon make sense, his boss is the Pendleton, the creator. He is in a sense a true extra dimensional being,
Except that doesn't explain anything in the lore. It doesn't explain why before Time (remembering that Prismo himself, is time) there was monsters. It doesn't explain why Prismos infinite cosmic powers suddenly got dampened in Farmworld, but they suddenly kicked in again the second that the Maid defeated Lich-Jake. And it certainly doesn't explain why Prismo casually allowed Lich to wish away all life in all realities, then casually allowed Finn to wish up a new reality that literally breaks the Multiverse, yet Prismo puts his foot down hard on letting Jake wish for a sandwich. Prismo goes out of his way to force Jake to make the exact wish required to cause the Jake-Prismo time loop in the first place. (And Save Finn, Restore All Life/Worlds and preserve most of the timelines) Perhaps if things seem "easy" to you, then you missed the mysteries and issues entirely 🤷♀️
i still think its kinda weird how in the series, jake canonically meditates to ignore desire or whatever it was to pass the time, he frequently sees jermaine in his dreams, or even nightmares (and even saw him and his dead parents in that one episode while hes awake) and he can even shape other peoples dreams like in the gum war nightmare part where he searches through finns mind to find the vault, and he went to the 50th deadworld which is straightup nirvana, and practically none of that is ever really explained or touched on
Yeah but to be fair the dreamscape still follows the rules of the moment-to-moment imagination of the dreamer, like right after saying "You can do basically anything in dreams" Jake immediately loses track of the reality around him and starts dreaming that he is a waiter at a fancy food place serving dinner to his brother Jermaine 🤣 If Jake in the moment does imagine himself as a plane while dreaming then sure, I would imagine that this would also allow Awake Jake to now be able to become a plane too because he "learned how" in his dreams 😂
Also, jake was the one to create the whole pillow world that Finn accessed that time he was depressed. Both jake and Finn said about Prismo and Jake respectively that they needed to get a girlfriend. So you might be right: they might be the same person.
There is no proof to that theory. The most likely answer to the Pahoy Portal is what Booko said about roaming portals that link up random worlds from time to time, because the Pillow People themselves explain the portal in that way. The whole "knife storms make imagination real so they dreamed up the pillow world" theory is just that, a theory. We don't have enough evidence of knife storms to prove anything about them, and the idea that Finn and Jake casually invent entire world's is a real stretch when countless world's already exist and Finn and Jake fairly often find portals into them 😅
thanks for helping me realize just how in depth adventure times lore is. perhapse ill get into it and rewatch iot all over again. what a childhood it gave me
You are most welcome and I hope you enjoy the re-watch. It's a great show and I'm sure you will see depth in it that you never saw before, exciting times 😁
Great analysis! i definitely think you may be onto something, and I'm pretty convinced personally. I'd also like to point out how in greek mythology, Athena was famously born (fully grown) from Zeus's forehead. i always thought of that when watching Jake's birth. Athena is syncretised as the Roman goddess Minerva... which Finn's mom is named after... I wonder if there's some connection there or just another nod.
(Spoilers for an upcoming video)
Rainicorns gained access to Ooo shortly after the Mushroom War and began eating Humans which triggered a war with Dogs.
I just realized that Kim Kil Wan can teleport and when he does, it makes the pixellation effect that Prizmo has when he teleports objects and people
@@HeadCasey why would he ask, it seems like something a cosmic entity could do. Could be a genetics thing as well, he's not going to inherit every power but his children/grandchildren can. Accom's razor I guess.
I think Jake is the physical embodiment of creativity or freedom, and whichever way he understands those concepts in his lives changes his abilities

To further specify his stretching powers, he is capable of:
-Changing the shape of his body at will
-Fusing and unfusing parts of his body - we see this in the way he makes a key with a hole in it using his hand. Hands do not have holes, however, meaning he's not just changing its shape, but its topography.
@Raylon Rodrigues He can also remove his bones individually from his body which I think is fucked up
No one seems to point out how small he can get thats not stretching its more like ant man or somthing
He also has the capacity to spontaneously create new mouths / eyes / noses / etc. on his body. This never happens in the main show but in the comic it's made a point out of, and it's not outlandish to assume that main show jake can also do that, but doesn't due to not knowing how to.

The fact that when Jake says "Enhance" it just infinitely loops zooming in on Jake is wild because it implies Jake is the center of this reality.
So the book is at least several thousand years old and is implied to be scanning/watching the entire "known" multiverse that entire time
either that or you're just overthinking
the enciridion is zooming onto jake because its projecting it on Jake's mind
That's very true. A very good point indeed
and interestingly eough the first catalyst comet the orgalorg tried to absorb was specifically YELLOW.
well he is half alien so that doesnt really matter
What if the JakeWorld episode was just to hint at the fact that the entire universe is also made of Jake?
Oh wow
Slight variance in timeline. His parents didn’t adopt Finn in the middle of his criminal career. Finn and Jake were babies together. Dogs just grow up faster, so he went off and did crime while Finn was still a toddler. Then their parents died and Jake stepped up and took over raising Finn. Which always surprised me cause Germaine seemed a lot more responsible.
Sorry but I think you might need to double check that.
"Dogs just grow up faster"
Except that Jake was born with his powers in tact, he technically was never a baby, just baby sized and pretending to be a baby for a while.
No, he's a mortal, but he can do cool stretchy stuff. show 'em Jake!"
Jake actually being some lowkey cosmic entity flying under the radar is just...
_mind blown_
Upon further thought, I wonder if Jake is loosely based on Azathoth, at least in concept.
Azathoth dreaming to the sound of flutes and drums . I never thought i could be a friend to this guy. I thought wrong obv
Oh shit, "Before there was anything, there were monsters" as the Lich said, and the entire primordial monster state of existence is the color of Jake.

Omg, this theory.. It really helps explain a lot of things. For example when Jake has heard about "blank eyed girls", started freaking out over it, and as result - they appeared. And they acted like they followed his thoughts.
Very good video after all, wish you good luck and a lot of numbers!! Really deserve it!
That is a perfect example 😎

As a diehard adventure time fan I can say these videos are extremely well-researched and the production value is off the charts, keep it going m8
Yeah? I'm very glad. As a diehard fan myself, I take great enjoyment in finding answers to the hidden secrets in the show

The goose episode feels like an excuse to just have him act with the futurama cast and I love every second of it
That's true, it did exactly feel like that... and it was amazing anyway 🤣
Omg Jake is Glob. That is why he is always so philosophical, doesn't fear death, always only wishes for a sandwich etc. It's because he already had everything and is now trying to live a simple life.
Well, yeah 😅
Pretty much.

Haven’t watched the whole video yet but Jake being Prismo (the old man dreaming) by itself confirms that Jakes dreams are all-powerful.
Exactly what I am saying 🤣 you get it 😎
The thing with Jake “flying” when he does the loops at 19:05 is actually something you can do with a slinky or rope ladder.
That's pretty awesome.
I always think about the comic where Ice King, King of Nightosphere and the Lich all make a dungeon together
@@HeadCasey hey pass name please

I have to poke one hole in the theory; in the episode Root Beer Guy, a plane flies overhead the candy Kingdom. This might be the only time in the series we see an operating plane but they are still in use by somebody.
Yeahs someone already called me out on that one, so I gave them full credit for debunking me on that
In all fairness tho, it’s possible jake needs at least a basic understanding of the thing rather than just seeing it.
It's true, that's why they make such a powerful and wholesome team 😎
Jake is arrogant ?
@@helioslegigantosaure6939 he was in that episode 😅
So hes a god but might lose to an average 12 year old boy?
Exactly! You can find suspicious Jake related stuff in almost every corner of the land, including on Mars 🤣
I swear rewatching the show is going to "trip everyone out" now that they know what suspicious Jake things to be looking for 😂
@@HeadCasey yeah when you said it might change parts of the show i didn't think you'd mean that absolutely everything revolves around jake LMAO, but it'll still be enjoyable to try and figure out where and when jake affects things throughout i think.
@@artixah hahaha yeah I'm cheeky like that... When I put a warning on a video, I genuinely mean it 😂 hahahah
it doesn't though? Jake still dies in the future so that's not out of cosmically ok to happen stuff
Only Mainworld Jake Died, and he was always going to - as per Part 1 of this video "The life and times" 🤷♀️
You seem to forget that every other Jake outlived Mainworld Jake, even Farmworld Jake 🤣
Also the only Jake that actually matters, is the one who slept forever to create Prismo and the cosmic forces in the first place 🤷♀️
Also we already know how that Jake dies, in an infinite loop of sacrificing himself to become Prismo - who then sacrifices himself to get Finn and Jake to the citadel.
"It will be cool" - Prismo
26:04 It's most likely just a coincidence but it really looks like Jake has 5 closed eyes in this scene paced the same way his 5 eyes are when he's in blue alien form
Secret foreshadowing perhaps
It’s not zooming into Jake, it’s zooming into itself.
17:57 he also imagined the wood from the tree falling off with one punch and sinking, WOOD SINKING, while the whole bed remains intact and afloat perfectly still
Man, I've forgotten what a masterpiece this series is. And your theories are sublime!
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words :)
It really is a magical show and I'm glad to remind everyone how great it is
It’s weird how the show runners made sure to show Jake’s powers were only stretching and he couldn’t split up his body and reattach it to do it.
That is kinda weird, especially because he could’ve just slid through an individual window in the gate and avoided the inconsistency.
Yeah he can definitely change the topology of his body. Look at his key hand for example.
I always thought that jake can't change. His personality is heavily cemented, he knows who he is and often gives others the wisdom they need.
@@lucio-ohs8828 which part didn't make sense? 🤔
a great enjoyable morsel of crystalized jake information is one of the better ways to start the day, thank you!
You are most welcome, I am glad you enjoyed it 😊
one of the few moments in this series that I've never been able to buy is Finn surviving having his head dipped in lava in "Jake Suit." it would make sense that he survived because of Jake's powerful desire not to actually kill Finn. in "The New Frontier" we see that Finn is one of the only things more important to Jake than his incredible amount of respect for the natural order of things. he's fully prepared to let himself drown and fulfill his croak dream until Finn tries to drown with him. it makes sense that, if he were to ever use his power to shape reality, consciously or unconsciously, it would be to save Finn. or maybe I'm thinking about it too hard, lol
also, the idea that Jake's will shapes reality is incredibly interesting and funny to me. it feels very adventure time. because Jake has an immense respect for the natural order of things (when he has a croak dream he gets all excited about the idea of dying the way he's supposed to), immediately accepts pretty much any hand dealt to him, good or bad (he often ends up in a bad situation and immediately starts getting comfortable, just trying to accept his new reality) has explicitly stated he likes having problems because it makes life more interesting, sometimes intentionally avoiding using stretching to solve his problems, and when Prismo gave him the opportunity to wish for anything, he chose a sandwich. you'd be hard pressed to come up with a character who would be *less* likely to actually use infinite power, so he's the perfect character to give it to
I think it also creates an interesting parallel with warren ampersand, who basically creates a whole civilization around Jake to manipulate him.

Leidenfrost Effect + Jake's powers.
That part always confused me. I don't get why there's a loop.
@@HeadCasey oh gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. Nice video, once again.
That's a very dark way to look at it...
I love it. Brilliant comment 😎
Except the series ends 1000 years in the future with shermy (possible reincarnated fin) and beth (a descendent/ possible reincarnation of Jake).
Meaning that things kept going on in that reality
And distant lands shows a grown up fin with a Jake tattoo on his chest implying Jake has passed away

Could be, it's certainly possible
I like that episode where Jake goes inside himself cause alot of people in that episode voice characters in Futurama. Anyone reading this probably knows this but I just want to state that I like it cause Bender is one of my favorite characters John Dimaggio voices, alongside Jake

Yes I admit the Knife Storms are super suspicious, only seen a few times in the show and they always seem to happen during weird events 🤔
Although I don't know if the knife storms and the weird events are directly related or just, the days that Jake gets stuck inside he lets his imagination wander more than usual resulting in the weird events.
As for Pahoy, I never considered that the world was imagined into existence during the episode.
I always focused on the ending too much, watching Golb show up at the end to assumably eat the Pillow World always had me thinking "pillow world was real" but just because it was real in the end doesn't mean it wasn't imagined into existence in the beginning 😯
Well.
I have a lot to think about now 😅
Jake is just a Warhammer 40K Ork, he's fully yellow so it means he's rich and powerful :D
That's a fair argument, although it's easy for me to say that Prismo puts some of the blame onto Finn for wishing Farm World exists in the first place 🤷♀️
But how any of that situation is Jake's fault is beyond me... but Prismo puts it on them both 🤔
@@HeadCasey To be fair only Prismo is aware of their role in everything. While jake (the source) is existing, and Prismo merely maintaining everything while Jake influences everything. Technically Jake let it happen, but Prismo couldnt warn them of what could happen prior either.

Keep the videos up man I’m really enjoying them
Will do 😎
I'm pretty sure in rainy day daydream the whole episode Finn was just playing along with Jake, to show that using your imagination can be fun. And in 12:27 Lady was changing his colour not Jake himself.
7:26 thats a crime agaisnt something. its almost disturbing without hearing a " GOOD NEWS, EVERONE". WHERE IS THE GOOD NEWS
Hehehehe the good news will be in the next video
kinda reminds me of the character from the elderscrolls games, "The Godhead" who dreams up the whole universe around him and it's dimentions
Yeah I can see that 😁
as much as i find this theory very interesting, there are some holes.
Officially Jake the dog is my #1 go to for death battles - btw this was hilarious to watch great job - Subbing.

Tearing, however, is not allowed."
Jake, however, tears when he creates new holes (such as the clip you showed where he transforms from a solid magnifying glass into just the rim and handle of the magnifying glass.
And your right, he either acts as a liquid (as shown at the start of the video in "life and times" when I show him squish himself fluidly through a gate reforming on the other side without issue) or he acts as a Glob of some sort (as shown near the end of the video)
i like how the everythings jake episode is full of futurama voice actors
There might be a reason for that 😜
You are really talented man.
You deserve more subscribers.
Thank you, I expect more will come as I continue to release theories
Crazy how you somehow synced a lot of the animated speech patterns to your narration. You deserve the algo boost, great video
Hehehehe yeah, I like to feel like the show is talking back at me 😂
@@HeadCasey & i know it has to be incredibly time consuming to make these and collect the clips, but if you could make more adventure time related content that’d be really awesome. I just watched your other ones and im itching for more.
@@itsv1p3r hahah well I'm glad my efforts are noticed and I have both the intro and the "part 1" edited for the next video... So I just need to knock out parts 2 and 3 for the video to be complete. Could be another week or two, might want to watch my "Multiverse Explained" video if you get theory cravings before then, since an Adventure Time scene is snuck in there 😜
@@HeadCasey cool! & ill definitely check it out, ive only ever watched adventure time casually but rick and morty is awesome too, they’re probably my favorite cartoons aside from regular show.
@@itsv1p3r oh my Multiverse video covers a lot more than just those two shows 🤣 I cover everything from The Simpsons to Scooby Doo 🤷♀️ if it had any relevance in a multiverse setting then I probably mentioned it 😂
26:04 Wait, was that foreshadowing for Jake's true form having five eyes like four full seasons ahead?
That is beautifully written. I love this comment very much. And yeah, that all logically makes sense to me 😁 very wise stuff 😎
Man these Adventure time videos are seriously bliwing my mind you are the theorist of our generation
man absolute banger theory you've hit it out the park with this one. good job man
Thank you :)
Usually I don’t like theory videos but this one is a banger!
I'm glad you enjoyed it 😁
It's also worth pointing out that when jake "enhances" at 22:33 it loops zooming in on him. Jake is the center of his universe, but also contains himself and the universe
Exactly 😎
I'm glad you noticed that.
I left that scene in the video on purpose to see if many people would notice how suspicious it was
It's zooming in on the book, bruh
Honestly, it's very interesting to see how many details we overlooked because it's "a children's show". So to see them through this new lens is amazing. Thanks :S
You are most welcome, I'm glad to give you something new to see in the show and hope it only adds to the enjoyment of watching it
"We're opposites you and me. Oil and goody goody snow white baby vanilla mitten water. GO TIFFANY" is the absolute Line Of All Time
9:50
"Wow.. You really understand my art"
-Greg universe?
I believe Jake could befriend almost any sentient being. Several of his friends are basically gods, literally gods, and cosmic beings.
That's true, can't argue that 😅
Now that i think about it, jake really disregard his life quite easily which makes me believe he is like this simply because of his father (the alien one) probably made it so he instinctively wouldnt have a problem with dying if he were drained of his life force.
I skipped the Ice Crown on purpose 😏
In fact all my videos just gloss over the Ice King plotlines and magic... The reason is because Simon, The Ice King and The Crown itself all are key pieces of my final theory about the Mushroom War so I promise I will talk about them in grand detail when the time comes 😜
Just loving your dedication to the story ❤ thanks for putting this together 🥹
You are most welcome, I put a fair amount of dedication into all my recent videos. I hope you enjoy them
In distant lands episode 3, Finn claps his hands just like jake 2:45 when he is in the under world looking for him
Yeah he does 😏
Distant lands was such a good series. Pure gold.
Learning about the dead worlds was a thrill and a half
This just proves the whole "this is all a DnD session between a dad and his son" thing 😂
It might, it just might 😅
I've always said this whole show is a dad playing an RPG (think D&D) with his kid(s), whether the creators knew it or not. The DM is Jake.
It fits.
Yeah that fits, I can see that 😎
Mind blown… I never thought about jake being a cosmic being. You connected the dots too good for me to deny this
Thank you, I am very proud
Your speaking on the video is crystal clear by the way. Sounds very confident, like it!
Thank you, I got a professional microphone a while back and decided to use it in making these videos 😁
Glad to hear it sounds clear because I do some slight audio tweaking to remove background noise 🤷♀️
@@HeadCasey I use an Uhuru and as long as I'm at the right distance there's hardly any audio tweaking needed, but I do need some soundproofing soon.
Great video by the way, looking forward to more
When you said "reality shifting" I literally thought "no that literally never fucking happened that's bullshit"
Then "rainy day daydream" I was like "oh right....."
Yeah, that Rainy Day Daydream is a real dodgy episode for sure 🤣
This theory is the equivalent of when you realize Super man in the Justice League only ever gets beaten up while the sun is down. 😆
Something you can only appreciate on rewatch.
I'm assuming that means "it's a good theory" 😅
@@HeadCasey
you just gotta rewatch it and pay attention to it. ye it's good xD
Really well edited too, didn't feel like 30 mins lol.
Thank you, I tried to keep the edit "punchy" so it didn't feel like it dragged on too long anywhere
The whole idea of if Jake isn't present or sane in a universe it starts going whacky, reminds me lf the DC concept of a dark universe, where a universe deviates so far from the baseline that it starts collapsing
Yeah I guess that is a similar idea :)
This take is so insightful, never finished the series but it’s always been Top tier. This takes makes me appreciate the show even more.
Thank you, bringing some extra enjoyment to the show is what I was aiming for so I am very glad to hear that it worked 😁
20:28 The voice actor for Jake definitely had fake fang teeth in his mouth in the booth while voicing the Gut Grinder 😭
Hahahah that's brilliant, I didn't even think of that but you are probably right. It sounds exactly like that 🤣
If before time, before there was anything, there were monsters... and Jake is just keeping himself from being a monster... then maybe Jake was a Monster before he became Jake.
I absolutely love when Jake shape shifts it’s so cool stretching is the best superpower ever
Yeah Jake is a brilliant character with an amazing power for sure
His shrinking and digestive powers are crazy
Most of his powers are crazy, he is a very crazy character to keep an eye on
I love how there's the "Jake dances with a lady bug" bass song lightly in the background when you talk lol
Thank you, if you listen closely then each chapter has a different background song from Adventure Time, each relevant to Jake 😏
@@HeadCasey I love it! Also that video was awesome! I can't wait to watch more for sure. This one blew my mind tbh😃
(And Save Finn, Restore All Life/Worlds and preserve most of the timelines)
Perhaps if things seem "easy" to you, then you missed the mysteries and issues entirely 🤷♀️
i still think its kinda weird how in the series, jake canonically meditates to ignore desire or whatever it was to pass the time, he frequently sees jermaine in his dreams, or even nightmares (and even saw him and his dead parents in that one episode while hes awake) and he can even shape other peoples dreams like in the gum war nightmare part where he searches through finns mind to find the vault, and he went to the 50th deadworld which is straightup nirvana,
and practically none of that is ever really explained or touched on
Thank you, yes! Jake is super suspicious in that regard and the show just skips over it casually every time 🤣
Jake should summon a functioning plane in the dream world since he said you can make anything there and then, replicate that in real life.
Yeah but to be fair the dreamscape still follows the rules of the moment-to-moment imagination of the dreamer, like right after saying "You can do basically anything in dreams" Jake immediately loses track of the reality around him and starts dreaming that he is a waiter at a fancy food place serving dinner to his brother Jermaine 🤣
If Jake in the moment does imagine himself as a plane while dreaming then sure, I would imagine that this would also allow Awake Jake to now be able to become a plane too because he "learned how" in his dreams 😂
@@HeadCasey mind blown 🤯.. makes you think about our own current existence hmm
