I just installed dual vodoo shorty slip ons on mine. Those sob are loud AF. I love it lol, I ride long distances, I just cruise around, so it's not a big deal too me how load they are.

A dumb semi-truck driver destroyed my zx10r, i was thinking to get a 14r as a replacement(saw a good deal on the marketplace) but then again, do you really need all this power? Even 10r or any other liter sport wayyy faster than what you can actually use.
The 14 is very flexible and low revs gives you highway speed. More relaxed than a litre bike. A waste in a town it comes alive on the open road where its effortless

I'm on my 2nd ZX14R a 2013 had a 2006 for 11 yrs, these bikes are awesome I have a yoshimera r55 4 in to 1 exhaust and a flashed ecu and the governor,s turned off it is wicked fast
My history with the 14 is the same. Bought first unridden, still in the crate. 2006 model , first in the Bike shop . Kept it 12 years. Was going trade it and my Nomad for a big tourer ....but ended up with another 14, a SE model with shiny rims this time round not brown . The first gen is bigger in seat and tank and had a taller 4th gear and at least 250kmh. They are seriously superb bikes.
Edward Wilson I initially rode it just to ride it, never rode one before and have wanted to ride it, wasn’t serious about it. But when i rode it, it felt just like something i would love. It’s stupid fast AND comfortable for me. I’ve had a Harley before and the comfort was there but the power wasn’t. This bike has the best of both worlds. It handles very well for what it is, but it’s no liter bike. You can feel its weight in corners but if you just mostly chill you won’t ever feel the weight difference.
Edward Wilson get one! My dad owns a harley and let him ride mine and he was shocked on the comfort level. I owned a 2008 after i wrecked my cbr1000rr. Loved it so much now i have 2017. Plus SW MOTEC and GIVI make some good luggage options if you wanted to do a tour with it. Strip it down and head to the track or a drag strip. Good low end grunt then once you get up into the higher revs, hold on! Smooth power band imo.
Had gen 1 and gen 2 since 2006. No need to leave the bike in 5th or change down to overtake ...unless they are racing you. These bikes go from 60mph to 120mph in about 2 or 3 seconds....in 6th. They have torque at idle ....you dont need gas to move off say in a garage. They take off and go and you dont know much about it except suddenly you reeling in the horizon and flattening hills.
Since its sport/touring bike, how does it fare with traveling and a passenger on, was thinking of getting one cause i love sport bikes but would also like to ride with my girl 500km trip, is it horrible like every R bike or little bit more comfy ?
Ohhhh lol. Yeah it was cold outside that day, but typically at 54 degrees the bike is running around 165-170 but should be changing soon new ecu with a guhl flash should Be here today!
@@windowlicker6996 it's actually not a bad first bike. Especially if it's bone stock.. It's very smooth.. And not crazy instant power.. Also handles crazy good.

At the time it was a Brock’s alien head full exhaust. I ended up switching to brocks pentacarbon

You don’t at all need that power on the streets lol just fun to have it. My next bike is an mt10, better street bike imo

@@elitewraith123 having been a pillion on one myself , these bikes are amazingly comfy compared to any R bike.
Do theses bikes handle abuse because I like riding & high rpms & I’ve never owned one use to riding 1000s
