Speaking of springs I would like to see you do a video on the TC and change out stock spring with a green spring before and after top speed on your 200 camo bike.
If your running stock head gasket you can bump it up from a 3 and still get clearance always do the 20k copper gasket anytime I do springs and a little head work while I have it off
So it's fine to just upgrade the springs from stock motor to 18lb springs without any other upgrades? Just curious because I still have to do my upgrades on a new motor, and was considering doing springs first, then air intake/filter, carb/ jet.
Great video. Just had the flywheel magnets on my hisun tear apart the motor. Picked up a hemi predator a few weeks ago. Gonna start modding it soon. My 18lb hemi springs will be here in a few days. 👍
Stock length billet rod mod 2 cam 24mm mukini carburetor 10k rpm cast iron flywheel 22 lbs valve spring in a non hemi predator 212 ..... What to set my flywheel and valve lash too
I've got a predator 212 With a jetted carburetor and after market exhaust pipe. Would 18lb valve springs help bring more power to the engine. If so, would it be top end or surge of power when you take off. If you could let me know. Thanks
Are the 18 # springs from a non hemi predator interchangeable with the hemi or is there a difference? Thanks for the video I have a hemi and plan doing the exact same.
Help my 212 pred clutch keeps engaging to early even when my throttle slide is down on purpose 😢maybe a new carburetor. Do all floats come with a spring when made if so mine didn’t come with one
@Black66 - Hi Buddy - love all your vidz...!! My lifters and rods fell out after removing my Camshaft and piston - and now I dont know which rod and which lifter went where....do they need to go back from the exact spot they came from....I mean like (exhaust valve rod and lifter) Vs ( Intake Rod and lifters)......?? I have the Hemi Predator 212 and was wanting to do the Stage 2 upgrade....thanks....and yes,,, I messed up,,,but this is my very first time ever working on an engine...
the flap on my pz19 carb came off now theres a open hole where the flap rod went u know where the choke lever knob attatches too now its more open but no choke idk if its ok to run it without the flap and i put a tube over the spot where the flap rod went ? any suggestions do u think its bad i never used the choke to begin with it always starts right up i just let it warm up a couple mins before hitting the boosters and engaging Launch for flight mode lol somehow i lost my 38mph mark too idk wtf happened its only hitting 36 now SMH WHATS THE BEST OIL TO RUN OR does that mystery oil work or is there any booster juice u reccondemed
I don't think it matters. As long as that choke flap is open on the back of the carb and the boosters still work. It's all good. Amsoil is good. There are a lot of other good ones too.
@@Black66 but now the rod that the flap screws on to upon removal its leaving a open space where the thing went so i i shoved some chore boy in there u know the scrubber pads
So my stock Colman hit 30 as soon as I took the governor out. Added a stage 1 kit and the 18lb valve springs. Now it’s only hitting 25 😢. Definitely not hitting Max rpm’s. Any advice or tips?
Do you know why some 18 pound valve springs are stock length and why some are shorter like the ones you installed? I have a set of each and both say they are for a 212 or a 196?
Ya, the hemi spring pockets are shorter. The springs are shorter so the spring won't go into coil bind . I have used regular springs in a Hemi . I got away with it because I used a low lift cam . The springs didn't bind due to the low lift .
Exessive spring pressure can cause More heat, Faster valvetrain wear, The potential failure of other valvetrain parts (i.e. rocker arms, pushrods, etc.), and Less horsepower.
That's what I do, I thought you wanted a slight offset .004-.006 for intake and .006-.008 for exhaust. I would think both at .003 would be rather noisy.
Hey good to see y'all again. Thanks for the video. This is kinda were I left off on my old bike.

Did you ever find out if you needed to upgrade any other parts when putting in 18 pound springs?
Do you set them both at 3? Dont you want a slightly larger gap for exhaust valve, or have you tried it like that?
The cam card calls for .003 If the gap is set to wide the compression release wont work on the exhaust valve side.

Are these shorter 18lb springs for the no hemi verison as well?

Great 👍 Do you adjust the intake at the same position that you adjusted the exhaust lash???
I figured it out, No you don't.
Me and my dad did this today and when you start the motor you can hear a weird noise. Any idea?
It would be appreciated. Thanks!
I assume you can still keep the same valve cover gasket

Yes spring is a spring hemi a little harder to do then the non good luck
They are not the same. Be sure to get hemi springs.
I was doing this and my valve fell into my cylinder. Any easy way to get them back out?

How long does the string have to be ?

it doesn't need the flap. You don't use it anyway so it's all good.

Just did this but had cylinder at tdc, then pushed string in, didn't have to losen adjusters, so
I like putting the string in with the piston on it's way up and then I'll pull the starter rope to lock the piston and the rope at the top.

what’s the name of the silver tool he used too adjust the exhaust and intake, im new to building predators let alone any engine, thank you

Late but feeler gauges. 5 bucks at harbor freight, well worth the investment
Mine won’t work and I’ve tried Al I know
You have a link on that feeler gauge?
Yes! www.harborfreight.com/feeler-gauge-32-pc-63665.html?_br_psugg_q=feeler+gauge
When ungovern an engine we always start with a billet rod and flywheel. Those are the two weak links in these engines.
Dude what the hell happened to your thumb nail 👀
I smashed it a few months back when I built the Microbike
any link for that string its cool lol jk
