    Watching your vedios helped me realize why I was always binge eating after dieting and obsessing over junk food. I have started intuitive eating a month ago and I lost weight and a lot of stomach fat without any stress of dieting or guilt. Thank you!

    I went on my first diet at age 13. It was hamburger patties with A1 sauce and canned green beans. Nothing else. A few years later, I tried eating nothing but boiled eggs and hot dogs. Nothing else. It was the beginning of my eating obsession and out of control binges. Fad diets don't work. Recently I tried Weight Watchers. I felt deprived trying to count points. I binged and gained weight. I'm going back to my whole food plant based diet and focusing on eating for health.

    Just wondering. As a French girl listening to Lucie’s videos, I don’t hear any French accent; she even adopted the American tone. Do English speaking people out there feel the same way?

    • @Ashaliyeva
      @Ashaliyeva 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If she learned both French and American English at a really young age, chances are she’ll be fluent in both and not have an accent with either. Just a guess. 💗 I’m American, and while her English is wonderful, every now and then I hear a slight difference in the way she pronounces things. Pronunciations that I feel like I wouldn’t notice in someone who has only ever spoken American English (like myself.) Hopefully that makes sense. 💗

    I noticed if I take it slow when I eat(chewing my food thoroughly and enjoying it) as well as not thinking about how it will make me fat, I feel more satisfied and less guilty. I know it's hard at first, but if you try your best to not beat yourself up over what you eat, eventually food will no longer be seen as bad or good making you feel less guilty.

    Lucie what are your thoughts on the Weston Price Diet - you eat a balanced diet with plenty of meat, plenty of eggs and dairy, but also a lots of grains and fruits and vegetables. But you make sure each food is organic and the highest quality, and grains must be fermented to increase nutrient bioavailability. You still avoid industrial seed oils but can eat natural plant oils or animal fats.

    Veganism is more of a lifestyle. I hate how people use veganism as a diet.

  • @mightyPavan2010
    @mightyPavan2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Most diets don't work because most diets don't tackle the root cause of weight gain - high insulin and systemic inflammation resulting from high carb and industrial seed oil intake respectively. Most diets mistakenly tell people to "lower calories", but if they fail to control insulin and inflammation so they just pile weight back on.
    It is also key to avoid mixed macro diets (high carb + high fat). You need to cut out one of them to take your body out of storage mode (Randle cycle).
    The key is to cut out the 3 evils: carbs, veg oils and antinutrients.

    • @kaylanichole5972
      @kaylanichole5972 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Every cell in your body runs on carbohydrate. Saturated fat is actually the underlying cause of insulin resistance

    • @mightyPavan2010
      @mightyPavan2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kaylanichole5972 no you are wrong.
      High fat (any fat - sat or non sat, plant or animal) combined with high carb in your diet leads to insulin resistance. This is because when both are present, fat blocks glucose from entering the cell. However insulin resistance cannot happen without carbs, since you need carbs to raise insulin in the first place
      You alleviate insulin resistance by taking out either fat or carbs.

    • @mightyPavan2010
      @mightyPavan2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@kaylanichole5972 the second statement is also false.
      You have two types of cells - some favour oxidative phosphorylation (generates more ATP but more slowly, eg muscle cells) and some favour glycolysis (generates less ATP but more quickly)
      Cells that favour oxidative phosphorylation can use either glucose or fatty acids for energy. Either is turned into acetyl CoA and enters citric acid cycle to generate ATP.
      Cells that favour glycolysis can run on ketones or GLUCOSE. glucose can be obtained by carbohydrate breakdown OR GLUCONEOGENESIS (conversion from fat, all on demand)
      As long as you eat fat until satiety, you get all the fuel that your cells require

    • @kaylanichole5972
      @kaylanichole5972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mightyPavan2010 insulin resistance is caused by a build up of fat in the cells which blocks insulin from delivering the glucose to the cells. Type 2 diabetes is 100% reversible on a low fat Whole Foods plant based diet. And yes, your body’s preferred energy source will always be carbohydrate, you are just kidding yourself and your health if you think anything else

    • @mightyPavan2010
      @mightyPavan2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kaylanichole5972 you have this mechanism in place to ensure that cells that favour OXPHOS use fat first and ignore glucose,so glucose becomes available to glycolytic cells.
      It is the COMBINATION of fat and carbs that causes insulin resistance. With fat but no carbs, there is no insulin spike, so insulin receptor desensitisation cannot happen, which means insulin resistance cannot happen.
      Taking out EITHER fat or carbs will reduce insulin resistance. High carb vegan diets work, Keri diets also work.
